Armed Robber Confronts Dollar Store Clerk With Gun, Clerk Shoots Him Dead — The Robbers' Siblings Are Angry
[DefiantAmerica] A 23-year-old Ohio man was shot and killed while trying to rob a Dollar General store at gunpoint.

Roosevelt Rappley entered the Dayton-area store, produced a firearm, and started demanding money. One of the store clerks was a concealed carry permit holder and was legally armed. Once the suspect pointed his weapon at this clerk, he drew his own weapon and fired, striking the subject in the chest.

Rappley returned fire, hitting no one, before stumbling outside and collapsing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The clerk placed a 9-1-1 call.

"He pointed a gun at me," the caller said. "I had a firearm on me. I pulled my firearm and I shot him in self-defense."

According to police, witnesses confirmed that the assailant pointed his weapon at the clerk, prompting him to draw and fire, fearing for his life.

Shortly after the failed robbery attempt, two members of Rappley’s family spoke with news hounds outside the store where he was shot and killed. Their thoughts: it is the fault of the clerk for being legally armed and acting in self-defense.

Rappley’s sister went on record as saying that even though her brother was wrong...it was all the clerk’s fault. Here is what she said:

"He’s got some responsibility, but not all. [Right is] right and wrong is wrong. That was wrong for that clerk to shoot my brother in the chest. Yes, he’s robbing them. OH, WELL (emphasis by the speaker)! Call the police, that’s what you’re supposed to do. You’re not supposed to take matters into your own hands."

Sounds kinda like the typical "Not my Baby" line we too frequently hear.

Interesting to note:
This happen back Oct. 2019, and it seems the DA for "Social/Racial Justice" political reasons did not just determine it was a justified shoot based on the police reports and video. He used the Grand Jury to Cover His A$$.

Given the area it might have headed off a RIOT/LOOTING peaceful protest with wealth redistribution.

Hand, ear and neck tattoos now OK for soldiers amid recruiting crunch
[Army Times] The military is struggling to find recruits right now, and the Army is no exception. With three months remaining in fiscal 2022, the service has only attained 40% of its enlisted recruiting goal, according to Army G-1 spokesperson Maj. Angel Tomko.

And that’s part of why Army Secretary Christine Wormuth issued a new policy authorizing troops to have small tattoos on their hands, ears and necks, Army officials explained Thursday morning.

Wormuth signed a directive Wednesday that expanded the service’s acceptable tattoo policy. The changes will be incorporated in the next update to AR 670-1, the Army’s appearance regulation.

The following tattoos are now authorized, according to the directive:

#5  All branches of military services. CIA, DOD, FBI, Fema, ATF, police, NSA, you name it. Age perhaps also a factor. Baby boomers are moving out. Work environment has changed dramatically. Why fight it, leave it. I know of several asked to come back to fill in the holes. That began since 9/11. Example, just transferring military hardware requires warm experienced bodies with clearances to supervise. I understand getting clearances these days is not cheap.

Mystery as at least 118 Grand Canyon tourists 'are struck down with highly contagious norovirus' in two months: Woman describes calling chopper after finding group violently vomiting
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Navaho ghost dust - Chindi
  • Health officials have recorded at least 118 illnesses resembling the contagious norovirus in the Grand Canyon National Park since May

  • The norovirus causes vomiting, diarrhea, body aches and fevers, and is spread through close contact with someone with the virus

  • It is currently unknown how many of the recent cases have been caused by the virus, which is difficult to detect if samples aren't collected in time

  • The debilitating illness can cause chaos out in the park, as one hiker came across a sick party that needed a rescue chopper

#1  Dear Jeff - May I call you Jeff? Thank you so much.

See, here's the thing: this was, even by 2022 standards, a remarkably stupid thing to do. I, and most people with working higher brain stem functions, would never think about doing anything like this. But you somehow got it into your head that taking a piece of heavy equipment governed by Federal safety regulations six inches thick, tying yourself to it, and then having an equally logic-challenged friend spin you around, was a Good Idea. Spoiler - it wasn't.

I'm going to offer you a bit of advice: Darwin always comes out ahead, Jeff - you cannot beat the house. His rules are as ironclad as those of Newtonian physics. Now, he may or may not swat you down with the ultimate sanction, and I cannot explain why that is, but you will know it when he addresses you...and Brother, you been addressed. In this case, I shall assume that you have been given the Karmic equivalent of a two-minute warning, and you should heed it.

Reflect upon your sins, Jeff. It may well be your only - and last - opportunity to avoid what surely waits for you if you do something this moronic again.

Best Regards,

Mike

Roe v Wade: Done deal.

Supreme Court overturns constitutional right to abortion

[SCOTUSBLOG] The Supreme Court on Friday eliminated the constitutional right to obtain an abortion, casting aside 49 years of precedent that began with Roe v. Wade.

The 6-3 decision by Justice Samuel Alito will set off a seismic shift in reproductive rights across the United States. It will allow states to ban abortion, and experts expect about half the states to do so.

In one of the most anticipated rulings in decades, the court overturned Roe, which first declared a constitutional right to abortion in 1973, and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which re-affirmed that right in 1992. The decision followed the leak in early May of a draft opinion showing that a majority of the justices were privately poised to take that step. On Friday, they made it official.

The decision came in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a challenge to a Mississippi law, passed in 2018, that bans virtually all abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy. The law carves out exceptions for medical emergencies and cases involving a "severe fetal abnormality" but does not make exceptions for cases involving rape or incest. It has never gone into effect, however, because the lower courts — including the conservative U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit — blocked the state from enforcing the law. [fill in day of week, possessive] decision reversed those rulings and upheld the law.

But by overturning Roe and Casey, the decision also opens the door for states to enact far more dramatic abortion restrictions, including outright bans on the procedure. Mississippi itself has indicated that it will enforce a different state law, passed in 2007, that prohibits virtually all abortions, except to save the life of the mother or in cases involving rape. A dozen other states have passed similar legislation, known as "trigger laws" because they were drafted to go into effect if Roe and Casey were overturned. An analysis by the Guttmacher Institute predicts that 26 states are likely to ban all or nearly all abortions. #39  For information, from badanov’s WSJ liveblog link:

Four Important Supreme Court Opinions Still to Come

Kennedy v. Bremerton School District

A school district in Washington state says a high-school football coach was improperly using his public employment to promote his religion by kneeling in silent prayer on the 50-yard line after games, with some players coming over to join him. The former coach, Joe Kennedy, said his actions amounted to a protected act of private speech because he played no favorites with the students who participated in the prayer circle.

Biden v. Texas

In this case, the Supreme Court will rule on whether the Biden administration can be compelled to maintain the Trump administration’s Remain in Mexico program, which denied entry to asylum applicants from Central America while their cases were being processed. The Biden administration said the law exposed asylum applicants to unsafe conditions, and that it was pursuing other measures to ease the burden on the immigration system; Missouri and Texas said the government was obliged either to deny entry to these applicants or imprison them within the U.S. until their claims were resolved.

West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency

A coalition of Republican-leaning states and small coal producers argue that EPA’s power to combat greenhouse gases is limited to measures within the fence lines of specific power plants, excluding broader measures the agency says are more effective. The case, argued in February, could lead to new limits on the executive branch’s regulatory power.

Oklahoma v. Castro-Huerta

Oklahoma argues it retains concurrent authority on Indian reservations with the federal government to prosecute nontribal citizens even when a crime’s victim is Native American, seeking to reverse one consequence of the Supreme Court’s 2020 decision recognizing nearly half of the state as Indian country. That decision transferred many criminal cases from state courts to federal jurisdiction. Should the court agree with Oklahoma, other states with Indian reservations could find themselves with authority for prosecuting crimes over swaths of territory that for generations have been the U.S. Justice Department’s sole responsibility.

Diplomats and intelligence officers who suffered from mysterious ‘Havana syndrome' while serving in Cuba are to receive six-figure payouts from US
Now about those TBIs...
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] United States diplomats and intelligence officers suffering from the mysterious Havana Syndrome will receive six-figure payouts from the federal government.

The payouts for the stricken officials, ordered by the Biden Administration, will range between $100,000 and $200,000 to each recipient, according to a Washington Post report that outlined the compensation plan.

Symptoms for the mysterious condition - which first surfaced among staffers at the US embassy in Havana in 2016 and has since afflicted hundreds of Americans around the world - include headaches, tinnitus, memory loss and nausea.

The payments will reportedly go to those determined to have suffered the most significant setbacks, such as job loss or career derailment, as a result of the illness.

The news likely comes as a welcome reprieve for sufferers like Tina Onefur, Kate Husband, and Husband's partner Doug Ferguson, all former workers at the US embassy in Havana - and some of the earliest known victims of the condition.

The vast majority of those stricken have been US diplomats, spies, and others employed by the government - spurring many to believe the disease is the work of a foreign entity, such as Russia.

The theory has put further pressure on the government - which largely ignored the rash of cases under former President Trump - to address the surge.

The fight to contain Britain's polio outbreak: Search for virus source begins and NHS starts contacting parents of unvaccinated children - as it emerges it was first detected in February
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • The virus was detected at the Beckton sewage treatment works, which covers a population of four million in north and east London

  • Great Britain was pronounced clear of polio in 2003 with last case found in 1984

  • Now the NHS are launching a campaign to contain the disease by contacting the parents of unvaccinated children after health chiefs declared a national incident

  • The UK's health service is starting up a major drive of children's polio vaccines
The UK Health Security Agency believes a traveller, possibly from Pakistan, Afghanistan or Nigeria, shed the virus in their faeces after being given a live oral polio vaccine during an outbreak.

It is likely they then infected relatives by failing to wash their hands properly and contaminating food and drink. Officials are looking at the possibility that just one family – or an extended family – may be affected.

Ecuador Declares State of Emergency as Indigenous Riots Engulf Nation
[Breitbart] Several thousand people marching on behalf of a powerful native tribe lobby within Ecuador called the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (CONAIE) entered Quito on Monday night demanding financial concessions from the nation’s federal government, Semana magazine reported Tuesday.

The week-long march to the national capital precipitated violent riots across six Ecuadorian provinces prompting the government to declare states of emergency nationwide, the Colombian magazine relayed.

Ecuador President Guillermo Lasso declared a nighttime curfew in Quito on June 20 as the indigenous lobby’s caravan arrived in the national capital. The conservative leader additionally extended a state of emergency in place since June 18 “in the provinces of Pichincha (whose capital is Quito), Cotopaxi and Imbabura, to the Andean Chimborazo and Tungurahua, and the Amazonian Pastaza,” Semana reported on June 21.

“This decision protects the well-being of citizens against violence. At the same time, the rights of those who demonstrate peacefully are protected,” Ecuador’s federal government said of the measures via its press secretary.

“We cannot allow a few violent people to prevent millions of Ecuadorians from working. We are not going to allow people to face off against people. I am here to defend Quito, every family in the capital and the country,” President Lasso said in a nationally televised address on Monday night, as quoted by the Buenos Aires-based news outlet Infobae.

Lasso referred to an indefinite nationwide strike ordered by CONAIE on June 12, ostensibly to demand several financial concessions from Ecuador’s federal government, including “setting the price of a gallon of diesel at $1.50 and that of regular gasoline at $2.10,” according to Infobae.

CONAIE’s dictate included a demand for several thousands of mainly indigenous people to march on Quito. This massive march has caused violent riots in at least six provinces over the past eight days and forced the closure of at least “80 sections of highways blocked by the protests,” Infobae observed on Monday.

The Argentine news outlet described caravans of indigenous protesters carrying “weapons including sticks and shields” marching near Cutuglagua, a parish located 18 miles south of Quito, on their way to the national capital on June 20.

“This Monday, Ecuador celebrates a week since the strike began and has already left millions in losses for the productive and tourist sectors, which have been mainly affected by road closures,” Infobae reported on June 20.

“The roadblocks have prevented the trucks that transport vegetables and fruits from the Sierra [mountain range] to the Ecuadorian coast from circulating. The consequences, after seven days of route closures, are beginning to be felt in the supermarkets of Guayaquil, where the hangers of these products are empty,” according to the news outlet.

CONAIE’s caravan escalated its demands on Monday night, calling for President Lasso’s ouster despite his efforts to meet the influential lobby group’s requests. The organization’s 10-point ultimatum includes calls for “food price controls and a commitment to renegotiating the personal bank loans of about four million families” in addition to the call for fuel price decreases, according to Agence France-Presse.

“The powerful Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (Conaie) — [is] credited with helping topple three presidents between 1997 and 2005,” the news agency noted on Monday.

CONAIE’s influence on Ecuadorean politics seems outsized considering native people account for a minority (one million) of the country’s population of 17.7 million.

Russian troops threw all their forces into the capture of the Luhansk region - Gaidai -- UPDATED
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Vesti] Fighting continues on all fronts.

Russia has thrown all its forces to occupy the entire Lugansk region in the near future. This was stated by the head of the Lugansk OVA Serhiy Gaidai.

"Many protective structures have already been destroyed in the Severodonetsk industrial zone, we do not exclude the possibility of leaving for new, more fortified positions," the head of the region noted.

He added that now Lisichansk is under heavy shelling.

“We continue to support the life of the city, humanitarian cargo is delivered daily, the “quiet” evacuation continues - about 40 people left today,” Gaidai said.

If Severodonetsk is occupied, the people hiding in Azot's shelters will become hostages of the Russians. The exit will be only to the occupied part of the Lugansk region.

According to the head of the OVA, the Russians have already begun the so-called "filtering" in the recently occupied territories.

"The hunt for activists and people involved in military affairs, relatives of such categories of people are also in sight. Men are forced to go to war against Ukraine, that is, they are used as" cannon fodder," - added the head of the Luhansk region.

Russian troops capture two more villages in Luhansk region - Gaidai
ANASTASIA WHEAT

[Vesti] Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to restrain Russians in Severodonetsk and Sirotin.

The Russian military captured two more settlements in the Lugansk region. Loskutovka and Rai-Aleksandrovka have been under the control of the Russian army since yesterday.

This was announced by the head of the Lugansk OVA Serhiy Gaidai in Telegram.

According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to restrain the Russians in Severodonetsk and Sirotin, repel attacks from Zolote and Volcheyarovka.

"The invaders are destroying industry in Severodonetsk. This time, the territories of a brick factory, Stekloplastika, as well as a factory of chemical non-standardized equipment were hit by fire. The building of the second entrance was damaged," writes Gaidai.

Also, Lisichansk was shelled several times during June 22. Destruction was recorded in one of the city's schools.

The head of the region said that over the past day three people were injured, they were hospitalized in hospitals in Kramatorsk and Pavlograd.

“Late the day before yesterday, the body of a man was found with no signs of life, with injuries received during shelling. New destructions were counted in Novoivanovka (eight houses), Gorny (eight), Zolotoy (nine),” Gaidai notes.

In addition, yesterday the Russian army carried out air strikes on Verkhnekamenka, Severodonetsk and Sirotin, air and missile strikes on Gorny.

#1  The fact the Russians haven't captured Severodonetsk despite having thrown the bulk of their army at it speaks volumes to their abilities.

Now they could very well cut it off with their attack from the south and turn it into a Ukrainian Stalingrad, but the fact that thrust has so far been blunted again speaks well of their abilities.

We'll see if the Russians have more men than Ukrainian bullets to accomplish this.

#2  ^^They'll push their Luhansk and Donetsk conscripts in first to deplete the Ukrainian bullets, Darth.

That's what the Bear has done in all the major offensives against entrenched UA positions.

Russian law prohibits the use of their own conscripts in combat (the law which they sometimes follow), but the 'separatists' are not considered of the same cloth.

#5  Severodonetsk has fallen. The Ukrainian governor Gaidai announced this am that Ukrainian troops have been ordered to abandon the city.

Lysychansk will fall in the next couple of days. The "order to abandon Lysychansk could come at any moment," according to a Ukrainian officer holed up there.

in the last two days the Russians have taken three major towns in the immediate area - Severodonetsk and the "Mountain cauldron" of Gorsky and Zolotoye - and have killed up to 1,000 Ukrainian troops. Some 100 or so western soldiers of fortune are also trapped along with 180 "Right Sector" neo-Nazi shock troops.

Captured Ukrainians report almost total disarray on the Ukrainian side, including officers abandoning their men and fleeing, replacements in the form of civilians-in-uniform given a rifle and sent after 5 days of training from their homes in the west to the meat grinder in Luhansk.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: June 23rd, 2022
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] 23:41 Ukraine and Moldova have agreed to restore railway communication between the two countries, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Moldova reported. In particular, the route of freight trains on the railway section Berezino (Ukraine) - Bessarabka (Moldova) will be opened this autumn. Moldova plans to export and import goods after the resumption of railway communication through the Ukrainian port of Izmail on the Danube. And Ukraine will be able to establish imports to Moldova and the EU, the department notes.

23:38 The Pentagon revealed the details of a new package of US military assistance to Ukraine: four HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, 18 boats, 36,000 artillery shells, 1,200 grenade launchers, 2,000 machine guns.

23:36 The European Council, following the results of the first day of the summit, called on the European Commission to "work quickly to further increase military support" to Ukraine. And Russia was urged to "immediately stop targeting agricultural facilities and grain exports, as well as unblock the Black Sea, in particular the port of Odessa, to allow grain exports and commercial shipping operations."

23:33 The head of the Donetsk OVA, Pavel Kirilenko, said on the air of the telethon that the Slavic direction remains one of the most dangerous, the enemy is concentrating battalion-tactical groups in order to go in a straight line to Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. The Bakhmut direction on the border with the Lugansk region also remains dangerous. The entire front line is under constant round-the-clock shelling.

On the Donetsk direction in Marinka, Krasnogorovka, Avdeevka, the enemy is making attempts to move from Konstantinovka and take the groupings into a "ring". One of the main directions of the enemy's offensive is Avdeevka - Parinka - Krasnogorovka.

23:25 Zaluzny on the situation at the front: "It's very difficult for us, because fire superiority is on the side of the enemy. Despite everything, we are holding on. The situation is difficult, but controllable. We are forced to conduct a mobile defense, take up more advantageous lines and positions."

23:17 The EU will immediately launch preparations for Ukraine's integration into European structures and eventual membership in the union, Borrell said in a joint video message with Kuleba. He stressed that the Ukrainian people belong to the European family, and the future of Ukraine is with the EU: "This is a key moment for us, the EU, and also for Ukraine, and for peace and democracy on our common continent, because we share the European continent. "Russian military aggression will not deprive people in Europe of the right to live a normal, decent life. Ukraine will win. Europe will win."

23:15 Podolyak on the decision of European leaders: "The end of the Russian peace project in Ukraine and the era of the Russian lobby in Europe. Ukraine is an official candidate for the European Union, and Europe is united like never before. Ahead is a difficult path, but the main thing is proved: we are part of the civilized world, we are not on the way with the Russian Zombieland."

23:13 Kuleba said on the air of the telethon that just a week ago "everything was shaky, but - they squeezed it." According to the Foreign Minister, Germany was in the camp of skeptics along with the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Portugal. At the same time, Macron played a very important role - it was under the French presidency of the EU that a historic decision was made.

Kuleba stressed that the turning point was the visit of four European leaders to Kyiv last week and their conversation with Zelensky. The minister added that the main task for the Foreign Ministry now is to ensure that the interests of Ukraine as a future EU member are taken into account in the reform of the European Union, which is taking place now.

23:09 Negotiation procedures for Ukraine's EU membership are expected at the beginning of 2023, and the expected entry date is 2029, Natalia Forsyuk, Director General of the Government Office for the Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, said on the air of the telethon: "Earlier, it is unlikely, because of the huge number legislation that needs to be adopted and implemented, we must live according to European laws."

Now, according to her, Ukraine's obtaining the status of a candidate member of the EU legally consolidates the European perspective and opens up access to structural funds. Only EU candidate countries have access to these funds, the money is provided on preferential terms, "practically free of charge." In addition, the status of a candidate will strengthen Ukraine's position in the peace negotiations, Forsyuk stressed.

23:04 The United States is allocating a new tranche of $450 million in military assistance to Ukraine , the White House said. The new military aid package includes MLRS, patrol boats, artillery ammunition.

22:27 President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola: "The peoples of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia look to Europe as their home and destination. Because their values are our values: freedom, democracy, justice. We will not return to the world until February 24" .

22:20 Zelensky addressed the participants of the EU summit after granting Ukraine candidate status: "One of the most important decisions for Ukraine in all 30 years of independence of our state. However, this decision is not only for Ukraine. This is the biggest step towards strengthening Europe that can be was to be done right now, just in our time and precisely in such conditions, when the Russian war is testing our ability to preserve freedom and unity.

21:59 European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen: "Today is a good day for Europe. Congratulations to the Presidents of Ukraine, Moldova and the Prime Minister of Georgia. Your countries are part of our European family. And today's historic decision of the leaders confirms this."

21:45 Zelensky commented on the decision of the European Council: "I sincerely welcome the decision of the EU leaders to grant Ukraine candidate status. This is a unique and historic moment in relations between Ukraine and the EU. I am grateful to Charles Michel, Ursula von der Leyen and the leaders of the EU states for their support. The future of Ukraine is in the EU ".

21:42 More than 30 European integration bills will be voted on by the Rada by the end of the year, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Stefanishyna said: "We will demonstrate progress all this time in order to start the next stage of joining the EU in the format of negotiations as soon as possible."

21:28 The European Council supported the granting of candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova , said the head of the European Council, Charles Michel.

21:09 The EU can settle the issue of transit of goods for Kaliningrad, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said: "I think that the explanation will be published in the very near future. I will not comment on its content, because I do not want to comment on the content of documents that have not yet been published" .

20:47 For June 23, as a result of Russian shelling, six civilians of Donbass were killed - three in Prishib, two in Avdiivka and one in Chasovoy Yar, said the head of the OVA Pavel Kirilenko. Another five people were injured.

20:38 Johnson said in an interview with Reuters that he is ready to provide assistance in clearing the coast of Ukraine for the safe export of grain through the Black Sea: "There is a lot of work to be done. We are working with the Turks and other European friends and allies to see what we can do." At the same time, the British prime minister noted that London is considering the possibility of providing sovereign guarantees for insuring ships that will export Ukrainian grain.

20:34 Talks between EU leaders on the status of a candidate for Ukraine are "somewhat more difficult than originally planned," as some countries want to grant the status of a candidate also for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Radio Liberty correspondent Rikard Jozwiak writes.

20:28 The head of the Lugansk OVA, Sergei Gaidai, said that the fighting continues in all directions, Lisichansk is under heavy shelling. At the same time, the authorities continue to support the life of the city, humanitarian aid is delivered daily, "quiet" evacuation continues - today 40 people were able to be taken out. In the recently occupied territories, the invaders force men to go to war against Ukraine, that is, they use them as cannon fodder.

20:07 Zaporozhye and Kherson regions met the invaders with numerous pro-Ukrainian rallies. When the Russian military began to harshly disperse peaceful actions, detentions and arrests of activists, journalists, ATO participants and public figures began, the resistance also became radicalized. The main targets of the partisan struggle were collaborators - those who went to cooperate with the Russians in the occupied areas. More details - in the material Partisanism in the South - how they resist the invaders .

20:01 The head of the Lugansk OVA, Sergei Gaidai, did not rule out the retreat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Severodonetsk: "Many defensive structures have already been destroyed in the Severodonetsk industrial zone, we do not exclude the possibility of leaving for new, more fortified positions." He added that in the event of the complete capture of Severodonetsk, civilians hiding in the bunkers of the Azot plant would only be able to enter the occupied territory.

19:54 Deputy head of the Defense Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Yuri Shvytkin called for a strike on the US embassy in Kiev because of the supply of MLRS to Ukraine. He also said that by supplying HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, Washington "is bringing a third world war closer."

19:30 With the current NATO strategy, in the event of an invasion, Estonia will be wiped off the map, Prime Minister Kaja Kallas said in an interview with the Financial Times. According to her, the existing defense plans of the alliance for the three Baltic states involve their liberation within 180 days: "If you compare the size of Ukraine and the Baltic countries, this means the complete destruction of the countries and our culture."

19:21 The invaders can approach Lisichansk, which is a couple of kilometers from Severodonetsk, in the very near future. The Russians in recent days have captured several settlements in the Lugansk region. Read more about the situation in the East in the article Threat of the Boiler for the Armed Forces of Ukraine .

19:19 In the southern direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine neutralized a group of saboteurs and struck at the command and observation post and the accumulation of equipment of Russian troops, said the speaker of the Odesa OVA Serhiy Bratchuk.

19:16 The invaders are conducting a "census" in Mariupol. According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, during the procedure, people are required to provide identification documents, and they also carry out a fingerprinting procedure (fingerprints are taken). Local residents are prohibited from leaving the city. At the same time, several film crews of Russian TV channels are working here, whose task is to demonstrate "the establishment of a peaceful life."

The prices of goods and services are constantly rising. So, the cost of a 1.5 liter bottle of water is about 100 hryvnia, a kilogram of pork - 600 hryvnia. Also, private funeral teams from the Russian Federation work in the city, the price of their "services" is 10,000 hryvnias per body.

19:12 The Armed Forces of Ukraine stopped the enemy advance in the direction of the southern outskirts of Lisichansk, inflicted losses and forced them to retreat. To resume the offensive, the enemy troops put forward reserves. The offensive actions of the enemy near Borovskoye were also suspended by the Ukrainian defenders, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports. At the same time, Russian troops captured Nikolaevka in the Donetsk region, they are trying to establish control over Gorsky. The attack of the Russians near the Valley and Bogorodichny was repulsed.

In order to identify weaknesses in the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the occupiers activated the DRG in the districts of Vremovka, Novoselok and Neskuchny of the Donetsk region. Ukrainian defenders successfully discovered them, the enemy retreated with heavy losses.

18:38 The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) confirmed its decision that Eurovision 2023 will not be held in Ukraine: "The EBU fully understands the disappointment of the society caused by the decision of the organizers to refuse Ukraine to host the contest. Perspective from the Breakaway Republics: Invasion of Ukraine: June 23rd, 2022
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[NewsFrontInfo] 22:15 The Aidar militants at the Azot plant in Severodonetsk declared their readiness to surrender, Special Correspondent Kurlayeva said.

21:35 The need to save the lives of people who have become hostages of Ukrainian terrorists complicates the liberation of the Republic. This was stated by the head of the LNR Leonid Pasechnik.

“The task is (to liberate the Republic from the Kyiv security forces), the task must be completed at all costs. And at the same time, the task is complicated by the fact that we need to preserve the life and health of our citizens to the maximum, who are hostages of those terrorists who rule Ukraine today at the state level, I can’t call it any other way,” Pasechnik said.

21:35 Residents of Ukraine have become hostages of Ukrainian terrorism and propaganda, elevated to the rank of state. This was stated by the head of the LNR Leonid Pasechnik.

“(Inhabitants of Ukraine have become) hostages of Ukrainian terrorism, terrorism, which has been introduced to the rank of state. I take it that way. Our people are there (in the liberated territories), but they are really intimidated,” the leader of the Republic stated.

20:07 The world today with "Yury Podolyak" reports that the agony of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Lysychansk is an escape under fire. The situation near Lisichansk is developing rapidly, as it should be during the agony.

Zolotoye is completely cleared of the enemy, Gorskoe is almost completely. Apparently, the troops from here for the most part left on their own, and what is left without a fight surrenders. Most likely, by the morning the boiler will be finished (By the number of prisoners, we will determine how successful the exit from the boiler was)

It seems that the order for the retreat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was received and the units went on a breakthrough. Russian aviation was raised into the sky, artillery in this area is working closely along the Seversk-Lysichansk road, trying to destroy everything that moves along it. Everything is very much like the flight of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Ilovaisk, only on a much larger scale.

19:39 Shelling was recorded from the side of the VFU in the direction:

19:22 The forces of the LPR and Russia will be able to close the ring around Lisichansk within two to three days. This was stated by the head of the Republic Leonid Pasechnik.

“Roughly speaking, a couple more days, I don’t want to predict, we will close the ring. I think then the issue of the release of Lisichansk will go a little faster. We really hope so. Difficult, but worth the task"

19:00 The entire territory of the Luhansk People's Republic will be liberated, judging by the trend, in the near future. This was announced on Thursday by the official representative of the People's Militia of the LNR, Ivan Filiponenko.

“The whole situation is aimed at the fact that the territory of the LPR, judging by the trend, will be liberated, I believe, in the near future.”

'Calm Down': WaPo Columnist Tells Americans Concerned About Inflation to 'Back Off'
[Townhall] A Washington Post finance columnist said to MSNBC on Wednesday while prices are higher today for commonly purchased items, there are people who are able to absorb the costs and they should stop complaining about it.

Michelle Singletary said the Americans who did well during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns should take a seat because there other Americans who might have to skip meals because of inflation. President Joe Biden has attempted to blame the historically high inflation rates on Russia's invasion of Ukraine but the rates were on the rise well before the war that started in late February.

"You know, I’m just going to say this...There’s a great deal of Americans where it is uncomfortable that they’re spending more, but they are not going to go under. You know, you got to stop complaining when there’s so many people who literally the inflation rate means they may only have two meals instead of three. There are Americans who did extremely well in the last two years in the market. You still have your job. And yeah, it’s costing you more for gas, but guess what, you’re still going to take that Fourth of July vacation. So I’m going to need you to calm down and back off," she said.

"It feeds into this fear and people making decisions that create the very thing they’re fearful of. And you’re in that category, calm down. Stop looking at your portfolio," Singletary added. "You know what you can do with that energy? Help people, put food on the table of somebody else’s house because you have extra."

#3  'Uncomfortable'? Uncomfortable isn't the problem. Unnecessary is the issue with some 4 centuries of oil and gas reserves under our feet. Of course that's given current and projected usage and current extraction technology.

Everything you eat, wear, touch, hold or utilize with your hands is delivered because of diesel.

#4  They say in eight months diesel is gone. Not available. Supply chain issues. Additives not available.

#5  Yeah, DEF will indeed be a big problem Dale. It has increased exponentially more than diesel itself as it is becoming harder to supply.

And the diesel vehicles we make here in the states for export usually don't have the DEF requirements (or 'limp switch').

#6  In 2016 we were told the World had 1,650,585,140,000 (1.650T) Barrels of Oil in reserves. Or, about 47 years according to several sources.

However, new oil deposit discoveries have increased that amount several years more since 2016.

Of course, the US Oil Production vs. Consumption means about 39.79% of our oil is imported.

OH! But in case you missed it, the US still EXPORTS 4% of its produced oil.

NOTE: STRANGE tho, the EIA Shale Oil data tells us we lost 35% of Shale Reserves in 1 year?????

Nolte: Child-grooming Backlash — Disney Stock Collapsed Nearly 50% in Year
[BREITBART] One year ago, a share of Walt Disney Co. stock was worth nearly $180. Today, it’s worth — laughably — just $93.

As Red State, who first reported on this, points out: "Disney stock has plummeted nearly 50 percent as their political-infused productions continue to turn away audiences and garner angry fan reactions."

I’ll get to that in a moment, but let’s not forget Disney’s decision to come out in favor of grooming prepubescent children with gay porn in schools. As I wrote in March, that was the brand game-changer of all brand game-changers. What Disney has done is like Skippy putting dog poop in its peanut butter, like tofu putting meat in its tofu, like Charmin putting sandpaper in its toilet paper....

By openly embracing child grooming, Disney has imploded everything the Disney brand stands for. This company is no longer a safe bet. Instead, it has betrayed itself and its customer base: normal everyday American families—you know, the 99 percent of families who would never expose a small child to a drag queen.

Allow me to put it this way... When Disney can’t open the latest chapter of its most iconic animated franchise — Toy Story — it’s all over. Disney’s woketardery has already destroyed Star Wars as a film franchise, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been hit (Dr. Strange 2) and miss (The Eternals)

Ken Griffin moving Citadel to Miami from Chicago following crime complaints
[MARKETWATCH] Billionaire Ken Griffin is relocating his big hedge-fund firm Citadel from Chicago to Miami, the third major employer to announce the move of a corporate headquarters from Illinois in the past two months.

In a letter to employees Thursday that was viewed by The Wall Street Journal, Mr. Griffin said he had personally moved to Florida and that his market-making business, Citadel Securities, would also transfer. He wrote he views Florida as a better corporate environment and though he didn’t specifically cite crime as a factor, company officials said it was a consideration.

Mr. Griffin is the wealthiest resident of Illinois, so his departure will hurt state tax collections on both the individual and corporate side. Mr. Griffin has an estimated worth of $28.9 billion and is among the world’s top 50 wealthiest, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

“Chicago will continue to be important to the future of Citadel, as many of our colleagues have deep ties to Illinois,” Mr. Griffin wrote. “Over the past year, however, many of our Chicago teams have asked to relocate to Miami, New York and our other offices around the world.” The Citadel move is expected to be a multiyear process. There are currently about 1,000 employees in Chicago and many are expected to remain.

#2  Washington Free Beacon counts the tax revenue cost:

The move, which Griffin announced in a letter to employees, will deprive Democrat-run Illinois of hundreds of millions of dollars in annual income tax revenue, a company spokesman told the Washington Free Beacon.

Griffin alone—who is worth approximately $25 billion—pays over $200 million in state income taxes every year, the spokesman said, and Citadel employees have themselves funneled over $1 billion to the state over the past decade.

Netflix Massacre: 300 Employees Axed in Largest Layoff Since Subscriber Downturn
[BREITBART] The bloodletting at Netflix continued on Thursday as the far-left-wing streamer axed an additional 300 employees worldwide, or about 3 percent of its workforce — the company’s largest layoff since its subscriber downturn in the first quarter.
Start with the Obamas. They haven't done shit
Netflix handed out pink slips to 216 staffers in the U.S. and Canada, with the remainder of the cuts coming from other regions throughout the world. according to an official statement sent to multiple news outlets.

In May, the streamer laid off 150 employees, or 2 percent of its workforce, as part of its ongoing efforts to cut spending amid a catastrophic subscriber forecast for the months ahead. Netflix said it could lose up to 2 million subscribers in the coming months after unexpectedly losing 200,000 customers in the first quarter of the year.

#1  This is only a small beginning. This will ripple throughout America. Occurring now massively but not reported except for something like this corporation. Disney another. People are unable or unwilling to spend. Inventories build, projected volumes not met each day. Example one major retailer projected to do $8000 Thursday was at $3000 at 4PM. Solution; cut hours, cut back stock. Next cut workers. Always those in high paying positions now actively targeted. Yes, even in research lab sciences. If not cut, cross trained. Answer phones as secretaries are gone, HA, take out the trash. Degrees and OH, vacations deleted. Look for another company; no way, they are having the same problems.

Government Corruption
One of the 'second order effects' of illegal immigration - increases in property taxes for new schools
[WashingtonOfficeOfTheSuperintendent] Immigrant Student’s Rights to Attend Public Schools

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Plyler vs. Doe (457 U.S. 202 (1982)) that undocumented children and young adults have the same right to attend public primary and secondary schools as do U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Like other children, undocumented students are obliged under state law to attend school until they reach a mandated age. As a result of the Plyler ruling, public schools may not:

1. Deny admission to a student during initial enrollment or at any other time on the basis of undocumented status.

2. Treat a student differently to determine residency.

3. Engage in any practices to "chill" the right of access to school.

4. Require students or parents to disclose or document their immigration status.

5. Make inquiries of students or parents that may expose their undocumented status.

6. Require social security numbers from all students, as this may expose undocumented status. (Adults without social security numbers who are applying for a free lunch and/or breakfast program on behalf of a student need only indicate on the application that they do not have a social security number.)

A school district may not request a student's or parent's social security number unless it (1) informs the individual that disclosure is voluntary, (2) provides the statutory or other legal basis for why the district is requesting the number, and (3) explains how the district will use the number.

Districts are strongly discouraged from requesting social security numbers to avoid any chilling effect that this request may have on the enrollment of students because of their race, color, national origin, citizenship, or immigration status.

Changes in the F-1 (Student) Visa Program do not alter the Plyler obligations to undocumented children. These changes apply only to students who apply for a student visa from outside the U.S.

Finally, school personnel -- especially building principals and those involved with student intake activities -- should be aware that they have no legal obligation to enforce U.S. immigration laws. (U.S. Supreme Court, 1982)

#1  Perhaps you have noticed, your neighbor also has a 'single family home' and pays high property taxes. The difference is, it's a 'single family home' in name only. It's just you and your wife now, you don't really need a three bedroom, 2.5 bath. Don't be selfish, avoid the high taxes and help the gov't meet the needs of the new 'open border - replacement people.' Move into a smaller retirement condo.

Science & Technology
Wild solar weather is causing satellites to plummet from orbit. It's only going to get worse.
[Space] In late 2021, operators of the European Space Agency's (ESA) Swarm constellation noticed something worrying: The satellites, which measure the magnetic field around Earth, started sinking toward the atmosphere at an unusually fast rate — up to 10 times faster than before. The change coincided with the onset of the new solar cycle, and experts think it might be the beginning of some difficult years for spacecraft orbiting our planet.

"In the last five, six years, the satellites were sinking about two and a half kilometers [1.5 miles] a year," Anja Stromme, ESA's Swarm mission manager, told Space.com. "But since December last year, they have been virtually diving. The sink rate between December and April has been 20 kilometers [12 miles] per year."

Satellites orbiting close to Earth always face the drag of the residual atmosphere, which gradually slows the spacecraft and eventually makes them fall back to the planet. (They usually don't survive this so-called re-entry and burn up in the atmosphere.) This atmospheric drag forces the International Space Station's controllers to perform regular "reboost" maneuvers to maintain the station's orbit of 250 miles (400 km) above Earth.

This drag also helps clean up the near-Earth environment from space junk. Scientists know that the intensity of this drag depends on solar activity — the amount of solar wind spewed by the sun, which varies depending on the 11-year solar cycle. The last cycle, which officially ended in December 2019, was rather sleepy, with a below-average number of monthly sunspots and a prolonged minimum of barely any activity. But since last fall, the star has been waking up, spewing more and more solar wind and generating sunspots, solar flares and coronal mass ejections at a growing rate. And the Earth's upper atmosphere has felt the effects.

The Swarm constellation, launched in 2013, consists of three satellites, two of which orbit Earth at an altitude of 270 miles (430 km), about 20 miles (30 km) above the International Space Station. The third Swarm satellite circles the planet somewhat higher — about 320 miles (515 km) above ground. The two lower-orbiting spacecraft were hit more by the sun's acting out than the higher satellite was, Stromme said.

The situation with the lower two got so precarious that by May, operators had to start raising the satellites' altitude using onboard propulsion to save them.

ESA's Swarm satellites are not the only spacecraft struggling with worsening space weather. In February, SpaceX lost 40 brand-new Starlink satellites that were hit by a solar storm just after launch.
More solar radiation usually means more extreme weather on Earth as the energy from it powers things. 10-1 the greens shreek of global warming until the end of time
