Righthaven Lawsuits: A Chilling Effect on the Blogosphere?

#1  Settling for $2100? How could that even pay for the rat-b*stard lawyer, much less any damages to the RJ?

These guys a very, VERY low rent bottom feeders.
I hope this comes around to bite them right in the arse.

#2  I wonder if you can copyright the phrase: "Dirty bottom-feeding scum-sucking sleezy ba$tards?"

It seems like there may be a political connection here but at the same time the article says charities, donk party, hobbyist blog sites, are all being sued. Righthaven lawyer has links to the Bammers in Chicago. I smell dirty tricks.

#1  nice find 'moose. I met some of these gents many moons ago while stationed at Parris Island...humbling to be in their presence. Of course, I was the kid in elementary school that would've rather met (and asked for the autograph of) a MOH recipient then Reggie Jackson.

#2  My uncle was wounded 4 times in Korea. First at the Inchon landing by a sniper, some time later by another sniper, then by a bayonet, and finally by an artillery shell that put him in the hospital with hemorrhagic fever. He was even in the tail in of WWII. I've got tons of memories from from nearly getting killed by a Mig strafing (a round went right between his legs), "demanding" supplies for the batteries with s .50 (the wouldn't load shells/powder because it was payback and it was lunch), filling 105's with bags of water stones to use as grapeshot against Chinese about to over run their position, to burying kids around Pusan from poisoned candy by the North, but I don't think he ever mentioned Chosin. He was an FO.

China remains silent on satellite rendezvous

#2  From Strategypage.com

September 10, 2010: Last month, a newly launched Chinese satellite (SJ-12) came very close to another Chinese bird (the two year old SJ-06A). SJ-12 was launched in June, and had spent two months maneuvering, changing its orbit, and eventually flying right next to SJ-06A. At first it was believed the Chinese were testing more anti-satellite technology, or techniques for examining dysfunctional satellites, and perhaps repairing them remotely. Then it was noted that SJ-06A changed its orbit after the visit from SJ-12. SJ-06A was believed to be dead, and not moving on its own any more. So either SJ-12 bumped into SJ-06A, fired something at the other bird, or some other, unrelated, bit of space junk hit JS-06A and shifted its orbit.

Whatever the case, it certainly looks like China is developing more ways to do whatever it wants in orbital space. This sort of space maneuvering has been performed by U.S. satellites for decades, and the Chinese seem intent on catching up.

No, Professor Ahmed, the Founders Were Not So Fond of Islam
Posted by: miscellaneous || 09/10/2010 08:38 || Comments || Link || [0 views] Top|| File under:

#1  If by 'fond', you mean got fed up with Islamic thuggery and sent the Marines to kick some Islamic pirate ass, then yes, they were definitely fond of Islam.
Posted by: SteveS || 09/10/2010 12:48 Comments || Top||

#2  Why anyone believes anything these guys say is beyond me except for the wusses in the MSM. They tend to believe anything that fits into an agenda or prevents them from wetting their collective pants.
Posted by: JohnQC || 09/10/2010 13:29 Comments || Top||

#3  Or, the islamic world was such jackassery that men would load up in leaky boats and sail off the edge of the world in order to trade with the productive Asia without having to deal with your founders. Afterwords, the only real income in the islamic world came from harassing the Mediterranian World and looting Africa proper.

Until the USA, when the Marines! walked across a desert to end the harassing of Europe and the US Navy sent patrol ships to Africa to break up the slave trade.

Then the islamic world went to total shit dark ages decay until someone found oil. So now, flush with some other people's money, money y'all didn't work for, you want to buy your way into the future like some bratty trust fund boy. Does not work like that. The islamic world is not the time capsule of human value and faith which will take the modernized world into the 22nd century and beyond. It shows, and it shows bad.

And y'all think you are moon people? The real moon people are from the USA. Bootprints MF, remember what flag is there next eid spotting or whatever y'all do between bagging and stoning your women.

#4  the Founders were smart, rational, enlightened and non-goverment educated...Of course they would've found islam absurd.

$350 million suit filed against GZ mosque developers
A September 11 first responder has filed a $350 million suit against the developers of the Ground Zero mosque. The strongly worded suit alleges that Rauf and Park 51 "are the front persons and in charge of operations for interests tied to terrorism," and "are believers in radical Islam and its jihad against America and American interests."

The suit, which was brought by a former volunteer firefighter named Vincent Forras with the assistance of Freedom Watch, calls the proposed center "a monument to the jihadist’s victory over American ideals of freedom and democracy, [and] a desecration of the terrible sacrifice made by those innocents attacked."

Forras’ and others "symptoms and illnesses have significantly increased since defendants sought to erect an Islamic Center and Mosque on or near Ground Zero," and the "emotional, mental and physical pain resulting from defendants’ actions in planning and taking concrete steps to build the Ground Zero Mosque are intolerable." The suit seeks damages for nuisance, emotional distress and assault.

#1  Good. If Roof doesn't give it up, hopefully it will be delayed for years in the courts. Publicity for the muzzies won't be so favorable either. That's always a plus.

#2  He should peronally "enjoin" the entire Democratic Party establishment directly related to the encouragement of the victory Mosque - Mayor Bloomberg, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, President Hussein and Vice President Bidden, etc.. "puh", all the way to the US Supreme Court, whom Hussein has personally and publicly condemned.

#3  The art of deflection. With any luck, Obama can keep this crisis alive and on front page for at least another year or two while the economy continues to tank.
Posted by: Besoeker || 09/10/2010 4:33 Comments || Top||

#4  Besoeker, if he keeps this alive for another year or two he'll probably only get about 50 electoral votes in 2012.

#6  Most likely the first of many lawsuits this taqiyya-spouting imam will be dealing with. I see union problems in his future. Gay bars next door. Various kinds of offensive-to-muslims out-reach centers.

#7  What no mo uro said. This isn't distracting the public from public anxiety about the country's direction, it's adding to the dismay. If it stays alive, it may have a similar albeit smaller effect on the public mood as those nightly Ted Koppell broadcasts throughout 1979-80: "Day 37 (89) (113) (246) (391) of the Iran Hostage Crisis..."
