2 more migrant buses from Texas arrive in NYC as border crisis continues
[FoxNews] Two more buses carrying illegal migrants arrived in New York City from Texas Friday morning.

The buses are the most recent sent by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to left-wing cities such as New York and Washington D.C.

Abbott began sending migrants out of his state into liberal cities thousands of miles from the U.S.-Mexico border as a way to bring evidence of the migrant crisis to their doorstep and bring attention to the issue of illegal immigration in his own state.

"Because of President Biden’s continued refusal to acknowledge the crisis caused by his open border policies, the State of Texas has had to take unprecedented action to keep our communities safe," Abbott said Friday.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams and Washington, D.C, Mayor Muriel Bowser have criticized Abbott for busing hundreds of migrants from his state's border to their northern cities.

Adams called Abbott's busing program "inhumane," while Bowser likened the arrival of migrants to a "humanitarian crisis."

"You see New York, you see Washington kind of drowning with a few buses," McAllen, Texas Mayor Javier Villalobos told Fox News. "We used to get over a thousand-something people a day."

"The city of McAllen was able to deal with thousands of immigrants a day," Villalobos said. "I think they can handle a few hundred."

Since the DC Swamp and its many supporters made these guests the open offer, "Come stay with us". But somehow during all the invites, they "accidentally" overlooked the need for enough transportation to the host's Party locations.

All Texas and others are doing is helping the Guests get to their Publically stated OPEN ARMS hosting locations.

Trade between Israel and UAE reachers $1.4 billion in first 7 months of 2022
[IsraelTimes] Trade between Israel and the United Arab Emirates in 2022 has reached $1.4 billion in the first seven months of the year, Israel’s ambassador to the country says.

This is a significant increase from the previous year, he notes, when trade between the countries amounted to $1.2 billion over the entire year.

The Grand Turk
Half a century later, Assyrians return home in Mardin province
[Rudaw] Driven [away] by war, violence, and discrimination half a century ago, Assyrians in southeastern The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
have recently decided to return home to Midyat town to rebuild what they call their ancestors' land using the same original architectural designs.

Located in Mardin province in the Kurdish region of southeastern Turkey (Bakur), the population of Midyat was mainly Assyrians in the past, also referred to as Syriac.

Assyrians of Midyat made their perilous journey to Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
after they felt uneasy about their chances for survival in the wake of the conflicts in 1968 between Greek Christians and Ottoman Turkish Moslems as they were deliberately targeted in the town.

"I have been here for three and a half years since 2019. I came back because I love the country," Ezize Betada Bemay told Rudaw’s Mashala Dekak on Tuesday.

Other factors contributing to their migration abroad were that they had been subject to persecution by the Ottoman Turkish state. Unlike Armenians and Kurds, the minority group is not recognized in the country and their language is not taught in public schools.

In recent years, more than 10 villages of Midyat have been reconstructed by those who have come back from Europe, among them is Arkeha village.
Completely unstated is the actual number of Syriacs involved — many, or just a few with enough European earnings to buy up and refurbish empty villages?

Somali candidate is running for Toronto city council seat
Could be an Ayaan Hirsi Ali, could be an Ilhan Omar — if they elect him, Torontans will soon discover which.
[ShabelleMedia] Somalis in the diaspora make history in the elections of the countries they live in as second citizens after migrating from their motherland over civil war.

Abdikarim Omar, a young Somali who grew up in Canada registered to run for the local council in Toronto in October. The deadline for the registration expires on Friday evening.

Omar will contest against twenty candidates competing for the mayor of Toronto.

John Tory, who has been the mayor of the city for the past eight years is in the race seeking a third time in the office. The election is held every four years.

The Toronto City Council consists of 25 members, and the candidates from the 25 constituencies will represent the city for the next 4 years.

Toronto is home to the majority of Somalis who live in Canada.
Good to know.

Home Front: WoT
Judge denies bail for Rushdie’s attacker, bars interviews
[Rudaw] A judge refused to grant bail Thursday to the man accused of trying to kill Salman Rushdie as the acclaimed author prepared to give a talk in western New York.

Hadi Matar,
...Lebanese-American reared un-Islamicly in New Jersey by a single mother, he went to Hezbollahstan a few years ago to visit his dad and came back primed for Shiite jihad...
24, appeared in a western New York courtroom after a grand jury indicted him on charges that he rushed the stage at the Chautauqua Institution and stabbed Rushdie multiple times in front of a horrified crowd.

Dressed in a black and white jail uniform, Matar stayed quiet during the hearing while his lawyer unsuccessfully tried to persuade the judge that he should be released while he awaited trial. Public defender Nathaniel Barone said Matar had no criminal record and wouldn’t flee the country if released.

Barone also asked the judge to do something to stop news hounds from trying to contact Matar at the Chautauqua County jail. The lawyer said the jail had received "several hundred phone calls" from people trying to reach Matar. Some of that media outreach resulted in Matar giving a brief interview to The New York Post, in which he talked about disliking Rushdie and praised Iran’s late supreme leader, Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

Khomeini issued an edict in 1989 demanding Rushdie’s death over his novel "The Satanic Verses," which some Moslems consider blasphemous. A semiofficial Iranian foundation had posted a bounty of over $3 million.

Matar’s lawyer complained that the media coverage could potentially lead to a biased jury.

"He’s entitled to a fair trial. He’s entitled to due process, no matter what he’s accused of," Barone said.

Judge David Foley declined that request, but he ordered the lawyers involved in the case not to give interviews.

"No speaking to the press until we have resolved this issue," the judge said.

Rushdie, 75, is getting treatment in a Pennsylvania hospital for severe wounds. His literary agent, Andrew Wylie, has said Rushdie had a damaged liver and severed nerves in an arm, and could lose an eye.

Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt called the attack "preplanned."

The author had just taken the stage at the normally tranquil lakeside retreat for a discussion of protections for writers in exile and freedom of expression when Matar jumped onstage. Henry Reese, 73, the cofounder of Pittsburgh’s City of Asylum, was onstage with Rushdie and suffered a gash to his forehead, bruising and other minor injuries.

Matar, who lived in Fairview, New Jersey, with his mother, is charged with attempted murder and assault. He could get decades in prison if convicted. He has pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."

"The psychological burden of losing family members during the 2014 invasion of ISIS, the eight-year-long suffering in displacement camps, the recent security upheaval in Sinjar... All contributed to the mass migration to Europe," Nagham Nozat, a human rights

Data showed that more than 300 families have moved to camps inside the Kurdistan region from Sinjar since August 1, bringing the toll of the Yazidis who have left Iraq since 2014 to 100,000 from a total of 550,000 living in the country prior to this date.

Biden White House ‘Concerned’ as Israel Shuts Down Offices of Terror-Linked Palestinian NGOs
[LI] Seven NGO offices shut down by the Israeli security services were linked the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist group.

The United Nations and the European Union are enraged, while the Biden White House has expressed "concern" after Israel shut down offices of several Palestinian NGOs linked to the terrorist organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

Biden State Department Spokesman Ned "Price told reporters in Washington that the U.S. was ’concerned’ about the raids and closures, adding that civil society is an ’integral element to thriving democracies,'" PBS reported.

On Thursday, Israeli security forces raided and closed down the West Bank offices of seven NGOs that had previously been designated as terrorist entities because of their affiliation to the PFLP, a terrorist group banned by the U.S., the European Union, and other Western countries.

"During an arrest operation in the West Bank, Israeli security forces, including the IDF, Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and Border Police closed down seven institutions that had ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Including six that Defense Minister Benny Gantz previously declared as terrorist organizations," The Jerusalem Post reported.
The Jerusalem Post adds:
The ministries each issued documents classifying Addameer, Al-Haq, Bisan Center, Defense for Children International – Palestine (DCI-P), the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees (UPWC) and the Union Of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) as branches of the PFLP, joining other NGOs that had also been designated as terrorist affiliates.

Israel to allow 1,500 more Palestinian workers to enter from Gaza on Sunday
[israelTimes] Military liaison to Paleostinians stresses, however, that expansion of permit quota — to an eventual 20,000 — contingent on ’security stability’.

Israel is to raise the quota of work permits for Gazook Paleostinians to 15,500 on Sunday, expanding a policy that defense officials view as a means of maintaining quiet on the country’s southern front.

An additional 1,500 permits are to be added to the quota, Israel’s military liaison to the Paleostinians, widely known by its acronym COGAT, said Friday. The move came following an assessment held by Defense Minister Benny Gantz.

The Defense Ministry has signed off on a tentative plan to raise the number of Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
permits to 20,000, an unprecedented increase. In mid-2021, just 7,000 Gaza Paleostinians had permits to work or trade in Israel.

Defense officials say allowing more Gazooks to work in Israel will pump much-needed income into the impoverished coastal enclave while encouraging stability.

"All the civilian steps toward Gaza are dependent on continued security stability," COGAT said in a statement.

Israel first announced the additional 1,500 permits in July, as part of a series of gestures ahead of US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We get to suffer the consequences. So does Afghanistan, aka Biden's Bungle...
’s visit to the region. But the move was frozen after holy warriors in Gaza launched rockets at southern Israel.

The move was not renewed sooner due to the recent three-day round of fighting in the Gaza Strip. Between August 5 and 8, the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
terror group launched some 1,175 rockets at Israel.

On Sunday, Maj. Gen. Ghassan Alian, the head of COGAT, touted steps Israel has taken to strengthen the economy in the Gaza Strip while also foiling military buildup by terror groups there.

"The policy consists of a military effort to thwart military buildup, and critically striking at any attempt to harm the security of Israel, alongside a proactive civilian policy aimed at the general public," Alian said.

According to COGAT, crossings between Gaza and Israel increased by 311% percent this year. In 2020, some 122,400 crossings were recorded; in 2021 the number rose to 163,500; and this year the number shot up to 672,000, according to the data.

The Gaza Strip has been blockaded by both Israel and Egypt for over 15 years in an attempt to contain the enclave’s Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, rulers. Israel says the tight restrictions on goods and people are necessary due to the terror group’s efforts to massively arm itself for attacks against the Jewish state.

Critics lament the blockade’s impact on ordinary Gazooks, around 50 percent of whom are unemployed, according to the Paleostinian Central Bureau of Statistics. The sky-high poverty rates make employment in Israel a highly attractive option for those lucky enough to receive permits.

In Gaza, Paleostinian workers can expect an average daily wage of about NIS 60 ($17.35). The few allowed to cross into Israel to work might get as much as NIS 400 ($115.66) per day, according to a report in the Times of Israel sister site Zman Yisrael.

US Affirms Austin Tice Held In Syria
[North Press] The US Department of State said on Thursday, Washington still believes that Journalist Austin Tice is held by the Syrian government.

Remarks made by Ned Price, the front man for the US Department of State, came in reply to a statement made by the Syria’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

On Wednesday, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates denied that the US statements about arresting any American citizens including Austin Tice in Syria are "misleading and illogical statements," according to the state-run News Agency SANA.

Price retaliated saying, the statement "does nothing to change our fundamental position."

"We call on the Syrian Government to ensure that Austin Tice and every U.S. national held hostage in Syria can return home," he added.

He stressed his countries extensive and direct engagement with Syrian officials "to try to get Austin home."

"We will continue to pursue every avenue we conceivably can to secure Austin’s prompt release," Price added.

The fate of Tice remains uncertain since he went missing at one of the security checkpoints run by the Syrian government forces in 2012 close to the capital Damascus, according to Reporters Without Borders.

On August 10, which marked the tenth anniversary of Tice being missing, US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Being a self-defined foreign policy whiz kid means never having to say you're sorry...
urged the Syrian government to help return the journalist.

On August 15, US Department of State announced that they contacted Syrian officials via a third party to help bring Tice home.

The US announcement was followed by successive reactions from both parties.
