-War on Police-
Law enforcement's fears are changing amid anti-police rhetoric
[FoxNews] 'It’s no longer about the truth' says retired police sergeant.

Author of 'Breaking the Blue' Sean 'Sticks' Larkin joins 'Watters' World' to discuss the war on cops.

Retired Tulsa police Sgt. Sean Larkin voiced his concern over a more hostile anti-police environment Saturday on "Watters’ World," noting the fears law enforcement officials in America experience amid a rise in crime and a push to make police the "bad guys."

"When I first started this job, I was told from the very beginning you are not going to be fearful of getting hurt at work, you are not going to be fearful of getting killed in the line of duty," Larkin said. "Is it a real threat? Of course. But you can’t work day-to-day thinking like that."

Larkin noted that the fears law enforcement have are no longer being hurt or killed in the line of duty, but rather being "smeared" for doing their job.

"What we are worried about, especially now, is having your name smeared through social media if there is something you didn’t do wrong," he noted. "It’s for being civilly sued for something you didn’t do wrong, for having your department investigate you cause of a bogus allegation that came and you are put on basically time-out on the department. Those are the things that we are worried about."

Following the death of George Floyd in May of 2020 and the push to cut funding for law enforcement, many major American cities have seen an uptick in violent crime, for which some Americans blame Democrat leadership.

Police retirements have also jumped during a year of protests as major U.S. cities such as New York, Minneapolis and Portland chose to cut their police budgets.

"When I first came on in 1997, when we testified in court, we weren’t the bad guys, now every time we take the stand, defense attorneys are coming after us. It’s no longer about the truth. It’s how can we make this cop look bad on the stand and get my client off" said Larkin.

Morocco Denounces EU Resolution on Migration Crisis between Rabat, Madrid
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

The European Parliament passed a resolution, tabled by Madrid, rejecting "Morocco's use of border control and migration, and unaccompanied minors in particular, as political pressure against Spain."

It also deplored "the participation of children, unaccompanied minors and families (in the crossings), putting their lives and safety in clear danger."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that the resolution is out of step with Morocco's exemplary record of migration cooperation with the European Union

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
After Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, uneasy calm prevails at new border
[DW] The end of the recent conflict in the Nagorno-Karabakh region in the Caucasus led to a new border between Azerbaijan and Armenia. What is the situation on the ground? Do people feel safe? A DW report from the frontier.

It's 170 kilometers (106 miles) from the Armenian capital, Yerevan, to the mountainous region of the Armenian province of Gegharkunik. Since the last festivities over Nagorno-Karabakh, it has become the border area between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

According to Yerevan, the Azerbaijani military advanced up to 4 kilometers into the new border area as recently as mid-May. In the process, it occupied more than a dozen heights near the Armenian villages of Kut and Verin Shorzha and began building fortifications. Both Armenian and Azerbaijani posts can be seen on the hills, sometimes with less than 15 meters (50 feet) between them.

Iraq
Al-kadhimi to Dhi Qar's demonstrators: the government waged war against corrupts
[SHAFAQ] In a meeting with groups of Dhi Qar demonstrators, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa al-Kadhimi, reiterated today, Saturday, his government's commitment to meet their demands.

A readout of al-Kadhimi's office said that the Prime Minister exchanged with the demonstrators' representatives views on the situation in the governorate and Iraq in general.

Al-Kadhimi said that the demonstrators' demands are not beyond his government's aspirations and efforts, stressing that it is determined to protect the public demands by holding the early elections and achieve sustainable development to secure proper sustenance, social justice and decent living.

The Prime Minister met individually the mother of the demonstrations martyr, Omar Saadon, and the father of the abducted activist, Sajjad al-Iraqi. Al-Kadhimi said that targeting the demonstrators is one of the fronts that the government is fighting at in the war against corruption, havoc, and the expansion of corrupts and those who exploit the public demands.

Al-Kadhimi said, "even though we refuse the notion of retaliation, we are adamant about making the right real via the legal and Judicial procedures that restore the state's prestige, enhance the citizen's trust in it, and secure its future."

Olde Tyme Religion
'Allahu Akhbar!': Pro-Palestinian protesters chant as they BURN Israeli flag in march through NYC that left diners shocked and saw 'blood' thrown at BlackRock offices
Herewith the intersection of Jew-hating anarcho-communist syndicalist Black Blockers, currently mostly calling themselves Antifa and Back Lives Matter, and equally Jew-hating Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) wannabe Israel erasers earning their pay with a day of exercise in the fresh air and sunshine.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • A group of pro-Palestine protesters marched through midtown Manhattan on Friday in protest of the Museum of Modern Art's links to Israel

  • They were angry at claims several MoMA board members have invested in companies that supply the Israeli army with weapons, weeks after conflict flared between Israel and Palestine

  • Protesters burned an Israeli flag outside of Rockefeller Center, claiming the Rockefellers helped fund the MoMA, several of whose trustees have been targeted by protesters for their pro-Israel views

  • Chants of the antisemitic 'From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free', placards saying 'Abolition Now,' in a call to dismantle the police

  • They also sprayed red paint across BlackRock, which is invested in Lockheed Martin, which has been supplying the Israeli army with weapons since 1971

  • Protests come amid a 75 per cent spike in anti-Semitic attacks during most recent Israeli-Palestine conflict
Related from Stop BDS:
In Their Own Words
BDS proponents often present their case to students in terms of peace and justice; however, this masks the real agenda of seeking to destroy Israel rather than simply improve the lives of Palestinians and help them achieve independence. The true aims of BDS become clearer when the views of the movement’s leaders are examined. As the examples below demonstrate, they oppose a two-state solution or any other resolution to the conflict that would recognize the right of the Jewish people to self-determination in their homeland.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Lebanon: Macron Expects The Worst... Hariri Considers Stepping Down
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] A senior political source stressed the need for Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers, a practice dating back to the heady human sacrifice days of Baal Moloch...
’s officials to deal seriously with the concerns expressed by French President Emmanuel Macron over the failure of efforts to form a government.

In comments to Asharq al-Awsat, the Lebanese source said that Macron was striving to ensure continued support to the Lebanese as their country is heading towards political vacuum, although he had pledged to defend his efforts to form a government that would lead the required reforms.

In a news conference on Thursday, Macron said: "We are technically working with several partners in the international community so that at some point, (...) if the absence of government persisted, we could succeed in preserving a system under international constraint, which would then allow the funding of essential activities and support for the Lebanese people."

According to the Lebanese politician, Macron’s announcement confirmed the failed negotiations to form the government, which returned to square one, without any breakthrough that can be relied upon to resume the consultations.

The French president insists on securing the minimum level of services for the Lebanese to fortify social security, which would reassure the military establishment and other security forces to enable them to maintain stability, according to the political source, who added that Gay Paree has almost given up hope that the ruling authority would be able to save Lebanon from collapse.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pound, the little lost dog had finished eating the rat terrier...
a source in the Shiite duo (Amal Movement and Hezbollah) told Asharq al-Awsat that their recent meeting with the head of the Free Patriotic Movement
Despite its name a Christian party allied with Hizbullah, neither free nor particularly patriotic...
, MP Gebran Bassil, did not achieve any progress in the government formation issue, as the latter insists on granting President Michel Aoun
...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
a share of eight portfolios in a government of 24 ministers.

Sources well-informed of the meeting that took place between Bassil and the representatives of Amal Movement and Hezbollah stressed that Aoun has entrusted the government negotiations to his "political heir", which means that he was willingly giving up his powers.

"Hariri’s patience will not last indefinitely," according to the sources, who noted that the premier-designate was waiting for final answers from Aoun’s team to make a decision about maintaining his efforts or abandoning his mission.

Pending the developments of the coming days, Hariri’s decision will be based on coordination with his allies and consultation with Speaker Nabih Knobby Berri
...Speaker of the Lebanese parliament, head of the Amal Shiite party aligned with Hezbollah, a not very subtle sock puppet of the Medes and Persians...
, who, for his part, launched an initiative to expedite the formation of the government.

Iran's Larijani Rebuffed over Election Bar
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Iran's ex-parliament speaker Ali Larijani on Saturday demanded an explanation of why he was barred from running in next week's presidential poll but was promptly rebuffed by the election watchdog.

The moderate conservative was disqualified by the powerful Guardian Council in a surprise move that leaves judiciary chief Ebrahim Raisi, an ultraconservative, the clear favorite in the June 18 election.

Larijani called on Twitter on the Guardian Council to "officially and publicly disclose all the reasons" for his disqualification as reports on him and his family had been "proven to be false".

The council's front man in response said the law does not mandate the body to explain its reasoning in public.

The vetting process is carried out using "adequate and trustable documents", Abbas Ali Kadkhodaee said in a tweet reported by local agencies.

"The presidential election law has not specified anything regarding protesting disqualifications and public disclosure of their reasons," he said.

The conservative-dominated, unelected council has approved seven candidates, five of them ultraconservatives, to run in the election from a field of about 600 hopefuls.

In addition to Larijani, who serves as advisor to supreme leader Ali Khamenei
...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...
, it also barred first vice-president Eshaq Jahangiri and firebrand
...firebrands are noted more for audio volume and the quantity of spittle generated than for any actual logic in their arguments...
former president Mahmoud Short Round Ahmadinejad.

The disqualifications have unleashed a flood of criticism, including from a member of the 12-man council.

Sadegh Amoli Larijani, a former judiciary chief and brother to the ex-speaker, said "security bodies" were influencing the council's decisions through "false reports".

President Hassan Rouhani
...Iran's moderate president, which he is, relative to his predecessor, which doesn't mean he's anything but a puppet of the nearest holy man...
, who is constitutionally barred from running for a third consecutive term, said last month he had sent a letter to Khamenei asking him to intervene and ensure greater "competition" in the election.

The supreme leader in a May 27 speech urged voters to ignore boycott calls but turned a deaf ear to criticism of the vetting process.

A week later, however, he said some candidates had been treated "unjustly" as "they and their families were accused of false things", without giving names.

The Guardian Council said "false reports" had not influenced its decisions.
