Britain
UK: Leftist party suspends candidate for challenging
[JihadWatch]
A Liberal Democrat candidate has been suspended from the party over comments such as: ‘There is no such thing as Islamophobia.’

Dániel Tóth-Nagy, 32, was due to stand for election in Manchester but is now facing an investigation.

In one of the comments, he responded to a Twitter post by MP Naz Shah about Islamophobia asking: ‘What about FGM? Honor Killings? Forced marriage? What do you think about the protest of women in Iran, Saudi-Arabia and other Islamic countries against the compulsory hijab?

‘What about Sharia in Britain? LGBT rights and education denied by Muslims in Birmingham? I expect no answer.’

In a separate exchange on Twitter, Mr Tóth-Nagy questions why Muslim-only schools are allowed in the UK.

Mr Tóth-Nagy described seeing children dressed in hijabs at a Halloween Party as ‘scary’ stating that he fears ‘they may be victims of FGM’ in another post…

Mr Tóth-Nagy said: ‘I think everything I have said is freedom of expression.

‘I’m disputing this decision and I’ll try to defend myself.

‘As a liberal, the principal value for me is freedom, including freedom of speech and freedom from religion.
Wrong version of "liberal", dude
‘I never made any comment online or anywhere else which express hatred or violent against any person.’

A spokesperson for the Manchester Liberal Democrats said: ‘These posts are completely outside of our party’s values and beliefs, and will not be tolerated.

‘Had we been aware of this before, there’s no way he would have been selected as a candidate.

‘We have immediately suspended him and we apologise to anyone that has been upset or offended by these comments.’…

Crimea vows to ship oil to Syria amid ongoing fuel crisis
[MOBILE.ALMASDARNEWS] The President of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, vowed to help the Syrian Arab Republic amid their ongoing fuel crisis that is a result of the sanctions imposed on the country by western nations.

Aksyonov told Russia’s Sputnik News that there are plans to export wheat, petroleum derivatives and power tools to Syria as well as rebuilding railways there.

He pointed out that whether it is Crimea or Russia, they are willing to export products to Syria in order to help the war-torn nation.

The Crimean President noted that a shipment of wheat and other industrial products is being prepared and will be heading to Syria soon.

He also pointed out that a joint shipment company is being founded, adding that Syria will export citrus fruits, olive and olive oil to Russia.

Iraq
Iran, Turkey, Syria, Saudi Arabia set to meet for first time at Baghdad Summit
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Baghdad Summit is scheduled to take place on April 20th with several Middle Eastern countries set to participate in this conference organized by Iraq.

The list of countries participating in the Baghdad Summit are as followed: Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, Jordan, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the most dubious NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
ally....

, and Syria.

The parliamentarian heads of these seven countries will be the primary participants of the Baghdad Summit.

For Syria, this is a big meeting because it will mark the first time since the start of the Syrian Conflict that they will be participating in a non-Syria related conference with Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Furthermore, the conference will see two major regional foes participating: Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Iran and Saudi Arabia have no diplomatic relations and both nations are pitted against each other in a number of proxy wars in the region, most notably Yemen.

Despite these rivalries, the Baghdad Summit conference will be an important step for Iraq to build their diplomatic and economic ties with their neighbors.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syria-Iraq trade stymied by US border presence
[atimes] Damascus and Baghdad have taken steps to facilitate trade, but crossing remains firmly shut from Iraqi side

Syria in recent weeks laid the groundwork for a resumption of badly needed overland trade with Iraq, with an eye on restoring billions worth of trade lost during the eight-year war.

On April 10, Iraqi Minister of Trade Mohammed Hisham al-Ani visited Damascus to seal a wide-ranging protocol with his Syrian counterpart. The agreement entailed broad cooperation in the spheres of energy, water and transportation, as well as commerce, investment and banking.

Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis, whose cabinet is currently grappling with unprecedented energy shortages, stressed to the Iraqi trade minister the importance of resuming land transport between Syria and its oil-rich neighbor.

EYE ON AL-QAIM
The key crossing to watch is Al-Qaim (Albu Kamal on the Iraqi side), the only one along Syria’s 600-kilometer border with Iraq that is controlled by the Syrian government.

To date, there has been no movement through the crossing. The unspoken assumption is that US political pressure is preventing the Iraqi government from reopening this vital land border.

Despite valid security concerns of lingering ISIS pockets, the connection is logistically and diplomatically feasible.

The suspicions of US intervention come against the backdrop of similar allegations of pressure on Jordan. Last month, reports emerged that officials from the US embassy in Amman had warned Jordanian businessmen against investing in the Syrian market and moved to block shipments of oil products from Jordan to Syria. Such pressures could explain why the reopening of the Nassib border crossing with Jordan has reaped only meager benefits for both countries to date.

Macron meets Syrian Kurds, promises to keep up support
[MOBILE.ALMASDARNEWS] President Emmanuel Macron on Friday hosted representatives of the Kurdish-led force that defeated Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS, formerly ISIS) snuffies in Syria, promising La Belle France’s support in the fight against the remaining holy warriors.

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) had in late March flushed out IS from their last bastion in Syria but has warned that the holy warrior group remains a threat in places.

Macron assured the SDF representatives, who were not named, of the "active support of La Belle France in the fight against [IS] which continues to be a menace for collective security," AFP reports, citing the presidency.

Macron also vowed that financial support would be allocated to"respond to the humanitarian needs and the socio-economic stabilization of civilian populations in Syria."

Leaked ISIS letters reveal Baghdadi is still alive and leading the terrorist group
[ALMASDARNEWS] Over the past few years, His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...the head of ISIS, or what remains of it, and a veteran of the Abu Graib jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us. So far he has been killed at least four times, though not yet by a stake through the heart...
’s death has been reported numerous times, but the ISIS* leader has re-emerged each time, even reportedly surviving an liquidation attempt in January.

The latest clues related to the status of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi indicate that the most wanted man in the world is "at least alive", Fox News reports.

The news outlet referred to copies of several December-dated letters from ISIS operatives to Baghdadi obtained by The Sunday Times earlier this month.

In one letter, ISIS commander Abu Taher al-Tajiki reportedly briefs Baghdadi on potential target sites for the terrorist group’s strikes in Europe.

"The letters underscore that not only is ISIS [ISIS] seemingly devoted to overseeing global attacks, but that its shadowy commander still pulls rank", Fox News reports.

The Sunday Times, in turn, cited Mohammed Ali, one of the ISIS gunnies captured by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), as saying that the jihadists believe Baghdadi is not present in the sliver of land still held by the terrorist group, but is hiding somewhere in the desert outside Syria.

According to the newspaper’s source, the disappearance of the ISIS leader has spurred internal fighting within the terrorist organization.

Sabah al Namaan, Baghdad’s spokesperson for its counter-terrorism agency, for his part, told Fox News in early April that Baghdadi is still in the Syrian desert, and that he "could not enter into the Iraqi side because of concerns about evading the security measures on the borders".

Namaan added that killing him or arresting Baghdadi "will reveal many secrets about how they have recruited tens of thousands of young men, and it will create a gap in the organization."

"Hopefully we will reach him very soon, especially now that ISIS has been defeated in its final place in Baghouz, Syria and they have lost all their land in Iraq. Now, we have a real opportunity to catch or kill him", he underscored.

He was echoed by Hamid al-Hayes, the head of the al-Anbar Salvation Council, who claimed that Baghdadi was still in Syria near the Iraqi border and that the ISIS leader "has shaved his beard and changed a large part of his features [so as] not to be identified and tossed in the clink
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
Hisham al-Hashimi, a member of Iraq’s National Reconciliation Commission, in turn suggested that all the clues pinpoint Baghdadi in "three possible locations", including Syria’s Palmyra, the Homs desert or Iraq.

"All these locations are very wide and very large with around 200 square miles [500 square kilometres]. He is a specialist at knowing how to survive, using different disguises and only with two people ‐ his brother and his driver ‐ with him", Hashimi was quoted by Fox News as saying.

Earlier, The Guardian reported, citing intelligence forces, that Baghdadi had barely survived an liquidation attempt in a village near Hajin in eastern Syria on 10 January. Following the incident, which was reportedly the work of some of Baghdadi’s closest imported muscle, his bodyguards took him to the nearby desert.

In June 2017, Russia’s Defence Ministry said that Baghdadi could have been killed as a result of an Arclight airstrike by the Russian Aerospace Forces, but several months later an alleged audio recording of Baghdadi emerged, casting doubt on his liquidation. The US, meanwhile, reportedly continues to offer up to $25 million for information leading to Baghdadi’s capture or death.

Hezbollah leader believes war with Israel is highly possible this summer
Soooooo many secondaries to look forward to!
[MOBILE.ALMASDARNEWS] Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Ansarallah reportedly told his top commanders at a meeting last night that war with Israel is highly possible.
"Many of you will die. Our infrastructure and powerbase will be destroyed. Innocent Leb Civilians will die and be maimed. Israel will still stand. I will however, emerge victorious from hiding under my daughter's bed providing military direction and religious support. It'll be so coool. You will love it!"
This meeting was revealed by veteran journalist Elijah Magnier; he is releasing the details regarding this conversation in an article on Saturday.

"Last night, During a private meeting with top commanders, #Hezbollah leader His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...
believes the possibilities of war with #Israel is very high this summer," Magnier tweeted.

On Thursday, the commander of the Israeli Defense Forces’ (IDF) Northern Command General Yoel Strick told Ynet News that his troops will destroy Hezbollah if they attempt to infiltrate into Israel.

"No. Hezbollah still holds on to those plans. We, of course, will not let that happen. We will foil those plans. This is not only a threat to us but also an opportunity, since they have diverted their best fighters to the South. We will face them and I have no doubt of the outcome," he told Ynet.

Strick added that if Hezbollah were to attack, Israel would take all of Leb to war as punishment for harboring the group inside the country.

The last time Israel and Hezbollah went to war was in the summer of 2006; they have avoided all-our war since then.
