Galmudug, Ahlu Sunna Ink Power Share Deal To End Years Of Rivalry
[RADIOSHABELLE] The leaders of Galmudug
...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth...
and Ahlu Sunna have for the 1st time signed an agreement to pave the way for a lasting peace in central Somalia.

The new deal brokered by IGAD aims to share power and unite the opposing administrations in the region, a move that will bring an end to the long-rivalry plagued Galmudug.

The leaders of Galmudug and Ahlu Sunna Ahmed Dualle Geelle and Sheikh Mohammed Shakir respectively inked the agreement and they are expected to publicly announce the points agreed in the coming days.

IGAD is playing a mediation role in the unifying of the rival sides in Galmudug, a Federal member state in central Somalia established in 2014.

Iran urges intra-Yemeni dialogue to foil enemies' plots
[PRESSTV] Iran says dialogue is the best way for various Yemeni groups to settle their disputes and prevent foreign enemies from taking advantage of the situation amid days of violent festivities between forces loyal to ex-president, former President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh

"Yemeni forces can eliminate any grounds, which can be exploited by foreign enemies of the Yemeni nation, through dialogue and the resolution of differences," Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said on Sunday.

Referring to the continuation of brutal foreign aggression against Yemen, which has resulted in the destruction of the country's infrastructure, a complete blockade on Yemen, and mass killing of the Yemeni people, the Iranian diplomat expressed hope that all Yemeni groups and political and social parties would remain in solidarity and maintain a national united front against any foreign aggression.

The Iranian spokesperson called on all Yemeni forces to exercise self-restraint and calm in order to settle their differences.

Speaking in a televised address on Saturday, the leader of Yemen's popular Houthi Ansarullah movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, called on all Yemeni groups to work on maintaining peace and stability in the country, and urged Saleh to be wise and consider the national interests of Yemen.

, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt and Bahrain cut diplomatic ties with Qatar and imposed a land, air and sea blockade on it on June 5.

Speaking on Sunday on the sidelines of the Gulf Studies Forum in Qatar's capital, Doha, analysts said the crisis has helped Iran, Pakistain and Turkey increase bilateral trade with Qatar, as well as open new commercial routes and strengthen political ties.

"Trade between Iran and Qatar increased by 117 percent in less than six months and it shows the short-term effect of this crisis and bodes well for both countries in the long term," Luciano Zaccara, an expert on Gulf and Islamic studies at Qatar University, told Al Jazeera.

Figures released by Iran's customs administration last month showed the country exported 737,500 tonnes of non-oil goods worth $67.5m to Qatar over five months - an increase in growth by 30.8 percent in volume, and 60.57 percent in terms of value when compared with the same period last year.

All you need to know about the UAE’s missile defense and Houthi attack propaganda
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Houthi

militia’s claim of targeting of the United Arab Emirates’ Barakah nuclear power plant represents a major shift in the Death Eater group’s propaganda in the Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
war.

The statement issued on Sunday claimed that a ’winged’ cruise missile targeted the power plant located 600 kilometers south of Abu Dhabi.

While the Houthi militia utilizes Iranian weapons, the fact is that since 2015 cruise missiles have only been used in anti-ship operations near the strait of Bab el-Mandeb.

Of all Gulf nations, the UAE stands with one of the world’s most advanced missile defense systems that has been in development since the turn of the century.

Experts speaking to Al Arabiya English agreed that the UAE, which presents a valuable target for state and non-state actors, has shored up its air defense against multiple threats ranging from ballistic missiles to unmanned aerial vehicles.

Former UAE air force and air defense commander (retired) Major General Khaled Abdullah Al Bu Ainnain, earlier said at a missile defense conference that the UAE is thoroughly equipped to defend itself from short and long-range missiles threats.

The UAE defends itself in what experts call a three-tier system created to defend against low, medium and high altitude threats.

"Three tier air defense systems are often made up of low level subsonic defense against cruise missiles and manned or unmanned aircraft approaching at low altitudes," said Matthew Hedges, researcher at Durham University and Advisor to Washington based think tank, Gulf States Analytics.

"The second tier is for medium to high level missile threats that defends against tactical ballistic missiles and aircraft and finally high altitude threats defend against exoatmospheric engagements from intercontinental ballistic missiles," Hedges said.

According to Anthony Cordesman, the Arleigh A. Burke Chair in Strategy at Center for Strategic and International Studies, the UAE posseses the Russian Pantsir-S1 system, which was designed with an all-weather system that is capable of tracking and engaging aircraft, helicopters and UAVs.

For medium to high altitude threats, the UAE operates nine PATRIOT system batteries distributed alongside major population centers and critical infrastructure sites. In addition to the UAE batteries, the US has deployed another two.

In 2016, the UAE deployed the two Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) systems which give it the capability to conduct engagements above atmospheric levels targeting intercontinental ballistic missiles.
To summarize, the UAE denies that the Houthis fired a missile toward the nuclear power plant.

Bangladesh
Rohingya women sold as sex slaves in Bangladesh
[Al Jazeera] Rohingya girls and women in Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar are being sold as sex slaves, according to a victim and aid agencies.

Fifteen-year-old Khartoun* told Al Jazeera she was sold into sex slavery after she arrived in Bangladesh by boat to escape a brutal military crackdown.

She was alone - her mother, father and sister had been killed by a mortar shell fired by the Myanmar military during a sweeping crackdown against Rohingya people. Upon Khartoun's arrival in September, two women approached her on the beach and told her they would help her.

"They told me if I went with them they would look after me and help me find a husband," Khartoun said.

Instead, she was locked up for three weeks and sold to a Bangladeshi man, who she said, raped her and sexually abused her for 12 days.

"He said 'I will choke you, I will stab you. I will kill you ... Do you want to be killed the way the military kill people in Myanmar? I won't let you go,'" Khartoun told Al Jazeera.

The UN and aid agencies said labour and sex trafficking in refugee camps have gotten worse with the recent influx of more than 620,000 Rohingya.

The military unleashed a campaign of mass murder, rape and arson against the persecuted community after army bases came under attack from Rohingya fighters. The UN has said the army offensive amounted to ethnic cleansing.

Olivia Headon of the International Organisation for Migration said urgent action was required to keep women and girls safe in Bangladesh's refugee camps.

"There's been recruiters here in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, previous to this influx and we know they are getting more business," she told Al Jazeera. "And we know that new criminal networks have kicked into action."

Europe
Germany Warns Of ‘Highly Radicalized' ISIS Wives, Children
[Daily Caller] The head of Germany’s domestic intelligence agency warned Sunday of the risk wives and children of Islamic State fighters pose upon their return to Europe.

About one-third of the close to 1,000 Germans who travelled to fight for ISIS have returned to the country. Hans-Georg Maassen, the head of Germany’s Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), warned that many women and children "had become so radicalized and identify so deeply with IS-ideology that, by all accounts, they must also be identified as jihadis."

"There are children who have been brainwashed and highly radicalized at ’schools’ in IS-held areas," Maassen said in an interview with Deutsche Presse Agentur. "It’s a problem for us because many of these kids and teenagers can sometimes be dangerous."

The number of terrorism-related cases investigated by German authorities have quadrupled over the past year, according to newspaper Welt am Sonntag.

The Grand Turk
CHP chair Kılıçdaroğlu gives President Erdoğan Dec 5 as ‘deadline’ on Zarrab
[Hurriyet Daily News] Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu has said he would give President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
until Dec. 5 to reveal who exposed state secrets to Ottoman Turkish-Iranian businessman Reza Zarrab, a key witness in the trial of a Ottoman Turkish bank executive in the United States over violations of Iran.
You and what army, Mr. Kilicdaroglu? Your job is to rubber stamp the sultan’s orders, not challenge him as if Turkey were still a democracy.
The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) previously gave the U.S. two diplomatic notes to return Zarrab to Turkey, on the grounds that he is "a clean guy," Kilicdaroglu said on Dec. 2 in an opening ceremony in the southern province of Mersin.

"[But] once Zarrab started to sing like a canary, then [the AKP said] he was a spy, a traitor. Up until yesterday, he was your guy and you were arm in arm. When he received the money, he was good, but now that he is talking, he is bad. I give Erdogan until Tuesday [Dec. 5] to explain who exposed the state’s secrets to Zarrab," the CHP leader said.

Kilicdaroglu’s comments came a day after Ottoman Turkish prosecutors ordered the seizure of Zarrab’s assets, citing a part of the Ottoman Turkish penal code that addresses the leaking of state secrets. Zarrab had previously claimed in a trial in a Manhattan court that he had paid millions of dollars in bribes to a former Ottoman Turkish economy minister to facilitate illegal gold transactions with sanctions-hit Iran.

"I live with the hope of 80 million people [in Turkey]. The 80 million want to live in this country in peace. We will fight for this together. We have written law and justice in the world of history. Everyone should know this very well. Law and justice is a right for all of us. We will fight until we achieve it," said Kilicdaroglu.

Kilicdaroglu also touched on the shift from the parliamentary system to the presidential system this year, which was realized through a referendum conducted on April 16, and said the parliamentary regime should be brought back.

"You are the ones who best know the danger that awaits Turkey. The first one is the one-man regime, replacing the democratic parliamentary system. You see what the one-man regime is. You see what Turkey has turned into. We need to remove Turkey from this dead end. We need to bring back the democratic regime. We need to bring back peace. This is why our women will knock on every door one by one on the path headed to 2019 [general elections]," he said.

Turkey Former CIA officer rejects Turkey’s claims of involvement in coup plot
[RUDAW.NET] Retired CIA official, Graham Fuller, dismissed accusations by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
that he was involved in the failed coup attempt last year following an arrest warrant for his detention announced by Ottoman Turkish media on Friday.

Fuller, a retired CIA analyst, said he was accused by Turkey of being a "CIA handler" of US-based holy man Fetullah Gulen, who Ottoman Turkish President Recep Tayyip Edrogan claims is responsible for orchestrating last year’s coup attempt, The News Agency that Dare Not be Named reported on Saturday.

Gulen denies the accusations and has denounced Erdogan's consolidation of power, calling him a "dictator."

Turkey issued an arrest warrant for "violating the Ottoman Turkish constitution, attempting to overturn the government, interfering in the government’s duties and espionage," as reported by state-run Anadolu Agency on Friday.

The arrest warrant also stated that Fuller was in Turkey on July 15, 2016, the date of the coup attempt and left the country shortly after the failure of the attempted takeover.

In an emailed statement to AP late Friday, Fuller rejected claims that he was in Turkey during that time and said that he was in Canada on that day speaking to a group of 100 people and that he hasn’t been to Turkey in five years.

Fuller hasn’t served for the CIA in Turkey since the 1960’s and said he met Gulen only once 15 years ago in Istanbul, which wasn’t until after he had already retired from the CIA.

He is an author specializing in Islamic extremism and said he was "impressed" by the Gulen movement’s "progressive and tolerant visions of Islam."

Fuller expressed doubt over any CIA involvement in the "pathetic, ill-conceived and amateurish, coup attempt" in Turkey.

He also doubts that Gulen had any hand in "ordering" the coup to take place and that many people in European intelligence shared his beliefs.

SC rejects use of foul language for Islamic cause
[DAWN] Against the backdrop of a 20-day-long Faizabad sit-in, the Supreme Court has ruled that no one could be allowed to use "filthy-abusive language" for the sake of politics in the guise of an Islamic cause.

"Freedom of speech and expression as well as freedom of the press is enshrined as a fundamental right (Article 19 of the Constitution), but the same provision curtails it when it is used to undermine ’the glory of Islam or the integrity, security or defence of Pakistain... or morality, or in relation to contempt of court, commission of or incitement to an offence’," says an eight-page order issued by a two-judge Supreme Court bench comprising Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Qazi Faez Isa on Saturday.

"No one can be allowed to use filthy-abusive language to advance a political agenda in the guise of an Islamic cause as it amounts to denigrating the glory of Islam...Force and violence (jabr) has no place in Islam. The word Islam itself means peace," the bench ruled.

On Nov 30, while hearing a suo motu
...a legal term, from the Latin. Roughly translated it means I saw what you did, you bastard...
case regarding the use of abusive language at the Faizabad sit-in and chronic traffic congestion and roadblocks placed because of the sit-in, the court had observed that it would issue a detailed order at a later date.

Investigators say attackers were misled about target in Peshawar
[DAWN] Police Sherlocks probing the Friday attack on Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
’s Agriculture Training Institute (ATI) suspect that the planners of the attack apparently tricked the jacket wallahs into believing that the facility was an intelligence agency’s office, it emerged on Saturday.

Nine people, including eight students, were killed and 28 others injured when three murderous Moslems stormed the provincial agriculture department-run training institute on Friday morning. All the three murderous Moslems were also killed in a two-hour-long operation.

A senior police official told Dawn that the planners had deliberately misled the attackers about the target. "ATI was apparently their actual target but they misled the attackers saying it was an intelligence agency office," the official claimed.

He said it was apparently done to keep the attackers motivated. "The attackers asked students whether or not it was an intelligence agency office," the official said.

The outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban
...Arabic for students...
Pakistain grabbed credit for the attack. Its Umar Media Cell released a two-minute-long video of the attack in which one of the assailants apparently tried to confirm whether the building was an intelligence agency’s office.

In response to a student’s plea to spare his life, the attacker was heard saying he would not kill him if he told them whether or not this was an agency office.

Live broadcast of attack
The attack on the ATI located on University Road directly opposite the University of Peshawar campus was reminiscent of the deadly attacks on the Army Public School and Bacha Khan University, Charsadda.

Police Sherlocks said it was the first incident that the attackers broadcast live to their handlers via a smartphone attached to one of the assailants’ body.

"They used some communication apps to live broadcast the attack," said a police official.

It appears that the video released by the TTP was acquired from the same footage broadcast live by one of the Death Eaters.

Another official said that the attackers wore three boom jackets of relatively light-weight explosives which they did not use.

He said they carried about 20 hand-grenades and two IEDs. "It shows that they were there for a long battle," the official said.

Police and security forces pinned down the murderous Moslems holed inside the building after a two-hour-long shootout. Authorities said the button men had been killed and security forces had cleared the area after searching for remaining Death Eaters.

117 killed, 264 injured in Iraq in November, says UNAMI
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A total of 117 Iraqi non-combatants were killed and another 264 injured in acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict in Iraq in November, according to casualty figures recorded by the United Nations

Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).

The number of civilians killed in November (not including police) was 114, while the number of injured (not including police) was 264, UNAMI said in its monthly release on Sunday.

Of those figures, Baghdad was the worst affected Governorate, with 201 civilian casualties (51 killed, 150 injured). Salahaddin Governorate followed, with 24 killed and 60 injured, and Kirkuk had 12 killed and 28 injured. UNAMI has not been able to obtain the civilian casualty figures from the Anbar Health Department for the month of November.

In October, UNAMI announced in its monthly release that about 114 Iraqi non-combatants were killed, while 244 others were maimed as a result of terrorism, violence and armed conflicts.

Iraqi commander rejects calls to disband popular forces
[PRESSTV] An Iraqi commander has rejected calls for the disbanding of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), also known by their Arabic name as Hashd al-Sha’abi, which have played a major role in pushing out the ISIS Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
terrorist group.

Ahmad al-Assadi, one of the PMU’s leaders, was quoted by AFP as saying that "any such discussion is rejected and we do not accept interference in Iraqi affairs."

He added, "Asking for the dissolution of the Hashd is like asking for the dissolution of the Iraqi army, because the Hashd [forces] are a key element of Iraqi security."

On Saturday, French President Emmanuel Macron visited Iraq, calling for "a gradual demilitarization" of the forces and for all militias in Iraq to be "dismantled."

Reacting to Macron’s call, Iraq’s vice president and former prime minister, Nouri al-Maliki, said in a Facebook posting that "Emmanuel Macron interfered unexpectedly in Iraq's internal affairs by calling for the dismantling of a legal institution, Hashd al-Sha’abi."

"We don't want any country to impose its will on the Iraqi government and the brave Iraqi nation," the leading politician said.

In October, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi strongly defended the Hashd al-Sha’abi after comments by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson that militias in Iraq should "go home." The militias are officially controlled by Iraq's prime minister.

Responding to calls by the Western officials, a senior commander of Iraq’s PMU recently said that American military forces must leave his country following the eradication of ISIS. In an exclusive interview with Press TV, Hadi al-Ameri, who heads Iraq’s Badr Organization, said the popular forces would call on the parliament to draw up legislation to demand the US pull out all its troops from the Arab country.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iranian President Rouhani calls for Middle East 'dialogue'
[DAWN] Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Sunday that Middle Eastern countries should solve their problems together without relying on external powers.

group opened the way for the Middle East to move past its reputation for "war and conflict between Shiite and Sunni... and the presence and interventions of foreign powers".

Saudi Arabia and Iran's critics in the West have accused Tehran of seeking to dominate the region at the expense of its neighbours.

Rouhani said: "No country can claim to be the superior power in this region. Just as the superpowers couldn't accomplish that either."

Mattis: ‘The Enemy Is Collapsing’ Faster Than Media Predicted
[DAILYCALLER] Secretary of Defense James Mattis touted the rapid success of the U.S.-backed military campaign against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
to news hounds en-route to Egypt Saturday.

"The enemy is collapsing. In many cases, faster than many people in the media forecasted," Mattis declared. "You know, I always stayed away from timelines for this very reason. It’s usually slower or faster than any timeline."

Mattis has consistently been reluctant to put a timeline on the U.S. military presence in Syria, but highlighted the recent withdrawal of approximately 400 Marines from the country after successful operations against ISIS. The 400 Marines are being sent back to the U.S. after supporting the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces in their military campaign against ISIS.

ISIS has lost nearly all of its major territory in Iraq and Syria in recent months. The group no longer controls any major city in Iraq and is largely isolated to a desert pocket in Syria, surrounded by various hostile militaries.

The defense secretary also confirmed that U.S. arms and support will begin to cease to Kurdish groups inside Syria which have largely born the brunt of the fight against ISIS. Many of these Kurdish groups were affiliate with the Syrian Democratic Forces much to the chagrin of U.S. ally The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

who regard some of the militias as terrorist groups.

The decision to stop arming the Kurds was revealed by President Donald Trump

"President Trump also informed President Erdogan of pending adjustments to the military support provided to our partners on the ground in Syria, now that the battle of Raqqa is complete and we are progressing into a stabilization phase to ensure that ISIS cannot return," the White House said in a statement after the call.
