FEMALE LED PROTESTS IN HERAT BROKEN UP – The Taliban are said to have violently dispersed an impromptu women’s rally in Herat on Sunday. The women held the rally to show solidarity with those who were killed at the education center blast but also used the venue to call for free and unfettered access to education. Approximately 100 marchers gathered on the campus of Herat University and marched on the Governor’s Office downtown. They were stopped short of the office by Taliban security forces who reputedly beat several women with sticks and fired in the air several times. Journalists covering the event were warned not to report on the incident and several had their names recorded by Ministry of the Interior agents who were interspersed among the protestors. A second rally was held on the campus of Herat University but those students were not allowed to go onto the streets by a Taliban security detail that had arrived earlier. Unconfirmed reports claim that some women were arrested but we have yet to substantiate these reports.
BLACK MARKET DOCUMENTS INVESTIGATION CONTINUES — The Ministry of the Interior announced they had arrested an employee of the National Identity office as well as two agents (positions unspecified) for selling identity cards. The investigation by the Ministry is reputed to be a major one and has also resulted in arrests in the Passport Directorate and those selling black market Pakistan Visas.
TALIBAN REPOSITIONING IN THE NORTH – Multiple sources in the Ministry of Defense reported that orders have gone out to Taliban commanders in Takhar, Panjshir, Balkh, and Kandahar to move hundreds of fighters to Badakhshan. Sources claimed that several worrisome reports had prompted the repositioning of forces to Badakhshan. Chief among concerns for the Minister of Defense were unsubstantiated claims of drone activity and worries that Tajikistan forces were actively assisting the NRF with logistics and intelligence. An additional concern for the Taliban involved rumors of more defections among several of their units serving in the province. For now, it seems the main effort for the Taliban will be in Badakhshan.
TALIBAN BEGINS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THEY HAVE A TERRORISM PROBLEM – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul was the latest de facto government agency to concede they have a domestic terror problem. While previously, most Taliban responses to the terrorism question have sought to minimize the issue and/or blame it on foreign elements, the past two months have seen a shift in the propaganda strategy. While not acknowledging the problem directly, the press releases now blame ‘sectarian separatists’ as the culprits. While seemingly a small thing, such an acknowledgment will provide neighbors and the international community with ammunition to further question the regime’s legitimacy and its claims of a new era of security.
CONFLICT TRACKER Panjshir: The Taliban sent 10 trucks to a checkpoint in the Shotul district following a report that an attack was underway, The Taliban arrived to find their personnel were missing and a truck was on fire. It is presumed the 11 Taliban security personnel assigned to the checkpoint had been captured as no bodies were found.

TALIBAN TROOP MOVEMENTS, AN OPPORTUNITY – As the leadership vacuum among Taliban units in the North continues to cause headaches for Kabul/Kandahar, the reshuffling of forces provides an opportunity for Resistance forces to target undermanned Taliban security facilities. The Resistance has demonstrated skill in employing ambush tactics in the contested North. It is probable that attacks against weakened Taliban positions could intensify before the Winter months set in.

[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... armed forces have warned on all foreign oil companies operating in the UAE and Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... not to continue their business and leave the two countries as soon as people.
"The armed forces give oil companies operating in the UAE and Saudi Arabia an opportunity to organize their situation and leave as long as the American-Saudi aggression countries are not committed to a truce that gives the Yemeni people the right to exploit their oil wealth in favor of the salary of the Yemeni state employees," the spokesperson for Yemeni armed forces, Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e said in a tweet on his twitter account on Sunday.
He added, "forewarned is forearmed."
Brigadier General Sare’e stressed that the Yemeni armed forces are able to deprive the Saudi and Emirati of their resources if they insist on depriving Yemeni people of their resources.
"Everything is possible and incoming, because Yemeni people’s stance is right and they have the power to take their right once the peaceful roads have been blocked," he stated.
This comes as the first warning from the armed forces, a few hours after the UN-brokered has expired, without any agreement to extend it due to the intransigence and evasion of the Saudi-led coalition .

[DW] The boat set off from the Western Sahara some nine days ago, carrying 34 migrants colonists attempting to flee to the Spanish islands. Thousands of migrants colonists attempt the trip each year, in search of a better life.
Spanish coastguards have recovered a migrant boat off one of Spain's Canary Islands, rescuing a sole survivor and retrieving the bodies of four deceased people.
A Spanish NGO which works with illegal migrants colonists said the boat was carrying 34 migrants colonists. The sole known survivor, a 26-year-old man from the Ivory Coast, was cited as confirming this to the Spanish international news agency EFE.
The Salvamento Maritimo coastguard said on Sunday that a merchant ship recovered the boat 150 miles (roughly 240 kilometers) southwest of the island of Gran Canaria. The migrants colonists were being taken to the island's capital city of Las Palmas, and had been expected to arrive on Monday.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SUNKEN BOAT?
Helena Maleno, the head of Spanish NGO Caminando Fronteras, which helps migrant boats in trouble at sea and works with families searching for loved ones, said on Twitter that her organization had received an alert for a boat taking off from near the city of Laayoune on 24 September.
The organization, whose name translates in English as "Walking Borders," reported the alert to the authorities at the time.
"Seven days of pain and waiting in which there was no news. Seven days that ended yesterday with the announcement of a new tragedy in one of the deadliest migration routes, the Canary Islands," Maleno wrote on Twitter.
Maleno calculated the remainder of this sunken boat's victims to stand at 29. She said their families likely would not even be able to recover their bodies, which had most likely been "swallowed by the ocean."
HOW OFTEN DOES THIS HAPPEN?
The migrant route from West Africa to the Canary Islands across the Atlantic is among the deadliest worldwide.
Thousands brave the trip annually from northwest and sub-Saharan Africa, in search of better lives, undeterred by the frailty of the boats which carry them or the death of their predecessors.
The Atlantic Ocean is particularly infamous for its strong currents, which makes such trips more perilous.
Over 11,500 migrants colonists have crossed into the Canary Islands this year, as per Spanish Interior Ministry figures on September 15. The figure is slightly higher than this period last year.
Maleno's NGO says that over 900 migrants colonists trying to reach Spain in the first six months of this year drowned or were lost at sea.
[Rudaw] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... announced on Sunday the launch of a new military operation targeting members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in its countryside, state media reported.
The "Eren Blockade" autumn winter operation was launched by around 1,600 personnel and is supported by Turkey's advanced arsenal of drones in an effort to remove PKK forces from rural areas of Turkey, state-owned Anadolu Agency said, citing Ottoman Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu.
The PKK is a Kurdish gang struggling for the increased cultural and political rights of Kurds in Turkey.
Ankara considers it a terrorist organization and has launched repeated operations targeting the group both at home and southwards in Iraq and Syria.
The most recent cross-border Ottoman Turkish assault against the PKK, dubbed Claw-Lock, targets the gang's presence in the Kurdistan Region's Duhok province. The operation has been condemned by Iraqi officials, who labeled it as a "hostile" and "provocative" violation of the country's illusory sovereignty.
Despite Ankara's denial, its assaults have previously led to civilian casualties who are often caught in the crossfire.
The People's Defense Forces (HPG), PKK's armed wing, said on Sunday that two of its fighters, including a commander, were killed by Ottoman Turkish air bombardment in a bordering area in the Kurdistan Region, reported PKK-affiliated Firat news agency (ANF).
The HPG on Sunday also confirmed the deaths of five of their fighters in a drone attack in Erbil's Balisan Valley on September 5.

[IsraelTimes] Security agency says men consumed jihadist content online, sought to also attack busy bus stop, tourist site and cop shoppe in northern Israel
The Shin Bet security agency announced Sunday that in recent weeks six Arab men were arrested for alleged affiliation with the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They never say how long Shin Bet questioned them before announcing the arrests, nor how many others were discovered to be connected to them. But one assumes long and many are the general answers...
According to the Shin Bet, the men, all from Nazareth
...not Nablus? What a nice change...
in northern Israel, sought to attack a Moslem school in the Arab-majority city because it "operated in the way of the ’infidels.'"
The security agency said the group also planned to attack a busy bus stop in northern Israel, a cop shoppe in Nazareth, a forest where Jewish Israelis often visit, and other areas.
Plans are easy. Execution, especially after Shin Bet notices the planners, appears to be a good deal harder.
"The suspects consumed Islamic State content, to which they were exposed to while surfing the internet, in a way that led to a deep identification on their part with the terrorist organization’s ideas," the Shin Bet said.
The suspects were identified by the Shin Bet as Muhammad Ihab Suleiman, 25, Jafar Suleiman, 21, Muamen Nijam, 20, Ahmed Belal Suleiman, 18, Jihad Bakr, 20, and a minor whose name was barred from publication.
Hmmmm... Three named X Suleiman — brothers or cousins perhaps? Or possibly just a popular name in the village...
The agency said the men attempted to obtain weapons for the attacks, as well as recruit others.
Indictments were filed against the six on Sunday, which included terror offenses charges.
"The Shin Bet will continue to act in accordance with the authority given to it by law and will take all the measures at its disposal in order to deal with phenomena related to extreme Islamic ideologies, and to thwart intentions to harm the security of the State of Israel," the agency said in the statement.
It added that the arrests "shed light" on the influence of IS in Israel.
Earlier this year, Israeli authorities arrested dozens of alleged Islamic State members following two deadly terror attacks — in Hadera and Beersheba — by Arab Israelis thought to have been inspired by the jihadist group. Another deadly attack in Jerusalem in March was later revealed to have been committed by an Islamic State supporter, who also killed an elderly couple in the same area three years prior.
[IsraelTimes] Officials say 23-year-old from Nablus lightly injures female officer during security check at Ramon Prison in southern Israel
A prison guard was stabbed and lightly hurt by a Paleostinian woman visiting an inmate at the Ramon Prison in southern Israel, law enforcement officials said.
According to the Israel Prison Service, the 23-year-old from Nablus
... the hot new area for Israel-hating troublemakers....
in the West Bank came to visit her brother, a terror suspect held in administrative detention (a practice in which detainees suspected of terror activities are imprisoned without charge or trial).
Not surprising. In the Muslim world terrorism is a family/clan/tribal business.
IPS said the woman attacked a female guard with what appeared to be a weapon fashioned from a pair of scissors during a security check at the entrance of the prison.
"As soon as the attack was carried out, the guard and another officer engaged, and professionally and with determination took control of the civilian and prevented her from carrying out her intention to harm the staff," an IPS spokesperson said.
The female guard was treated at the scene and did not require hospitalization, according to the IPS.
Police said officers had arrested the Paleostinian woman and taken her for questioning.
[IsraelTimes] Police accuse the Paleostinian suspects of feigning illness to gain access to Makassed Hospital, then throwing Molotov cocktails and explosive cylinders at passing vehicles
Two Paleostinian men have been detained for allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails at passing buses from a hospital in East Jerusalem last month, after disguising themselves as patients to gain access to the medical center.
According to an Israel Police statement from Sunday, the two suspects — a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old from the A-Tur neighborhood — entered Makassed Hospital in wheelchairs on September 7 and then threw Molotov cocktails and gas cylinders at passing vehicles. No injuries or damage were reported.
Police later opened an investigation into the incident and arrested the suspects on September 20. With the end of the probe, prosecutors requested that the two, who have been held since, remain in jug until Thursday.
Police said the two are due to be indicted in the coming days and that an investigation was ongoing.
"The Jerusalem District Police notes that while throwing Molotov cocktails is a severe and dangerous act in itself, the act of impersonating patients and entering the hospital to harm innocent people on the premises of a hospital testifies more than anything about these violent mostly peaceful and criminal lawbreakers," the statement said.
The police announcement followed several festivities in East Jerusalem over the past week, while the Israel Defense Forces and police were on heightened alert amid the Jewish holiday season, with tensions already high due to an Israeli anti-terror offensive that has seen over 100 Paleostinians killed and more than 2,000 arrested in nightly raids in the West Bank.
[IsraelTimes] Moments before gunfire, settlers hold protest near Nablus over morning attack that left taxi driver hurt; separately, pregnant women injured after Paleostinians throw rocks at car
An armed Paleostinian faction calling itself Lion’s Den grabbed credit for both shootings in separate statements.
An Israeli soldier was lightly hurt after shots were fired at a military checkpost in the northern West Bank on Sunday evening, the military and medics said, hours after a shooting left another person maimed nearby. The Israel Defense Forces said the attack, which maimed a combat soldier, was aimed at both Israeli civilians and soldiers near Nablus. According to the Rescuers Without Border emergency service, the soldier was struck in the leg by gunfire on a road between the settlement of Itamar and the military’s Samaria regional brigade base.
The Samaria Regional Council said the attack occurred at the end of a demonstration it held in the area, after another shooting Sunday morning, when Paleostinian button menshot up several Israeli vehicles driving close to the nearby settlement of Elon Moreh.

Baquer Namazi, 85, was permitted to leave Iran for medical treatment abroad, and his son Siamak, 50, was released from detention in Tehran, the United Nations ...a formerly good idea gone bad... said on Saturday.
"With the finalization of negotiations between Iran and the United States to release the prisoners of both countries, $7 billion of Iran's blocked resources will be released," the state news agency IRNA said.
Billions of dollars in Iranian funds have been frozen in a number of countries -- notably China, South Korea and Japan -- since the U.S. reimposed biting sanctions on the Islamic republic in 2018 after unilaterally withdrawing from Tehran's nuclear deal with world powers.
Tehran has accused Seoul of holding $7 billion of its funds "hostage", repeatedly calling on South Korean authorities to release it.
IRNA on Sunday said that "Washington is pursuing at the same time the release of its citizens detained in Tehran and the release of Iranian funds in South Korea."
The development comes as on-off talks have been underway since April 2021 to revive the 2015 deal that gave Iran much-needed sanctions relief in return for curbs on its nuclear program.
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Iranian security forces have arrested nine foreign nationals involved in street riots in the country, the Iranian Intelligence Ministry said in a statement on Friday.
The arrested individuals include citizens of Germany, Poland, Italia, La Belle France, the Netherlands and Sweden who were "detained at the scene of riots or behind the scenes of conspiracy," read the statement carried by the official IRNA news agency.
According to the ministry’s statement, the "tragic death" of a young Iranian woman has become a pretext for plots to incite public unrest and violence in the country.
The ministry added that Iranian security carried out "identification of elements related to foreign media in (the capital) Tehran and various provinces of the country, some of whom were arrested, some were summoned."
The security has also arrested dozens of those who were related to the opposition "terrorist and separatist groups" involved in the riots.
