Large Migrant Group Wearing Camo Arrested in Remote West Texas Border Sector
[Breitbart] A multi-agency effort led to the arrest of a large group of migrants attempting to avoid detection by wearing camouflage. The arrest took place in a remote area of the Big Bend Sector in Texas.

Big Bend Sector Chief Patrol Agent Sean L. McGoffin tweeted an image of a large group of migrants wearing camouflage to avoid detection.

Van Horn Station agents teamed up with Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers and a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations aircrew on January 13 to locate and arrest the group of migrants. Officials report the migrants attempted to hide in the brush and utilize camo to avoid detection and arrest.

Agents transported the migrants to the Sierra Blanca Border Patrol Station for processing under CBP guidelines.

The human smuggling tactic of wearing camo is utilized frequently in this desolate area of Texas. On January 12, Van Horn Station agents apprehended another group of more than 30 migrants attempting to avoid detection.

The agents observed foot tracks leading away from the Texas-Mexico border, Chief McGoffin tweeted. The agents contacted AMO for overwatch assistance and located the group.

At night, the smugglers abandon the camo tactic in favor of dark-colored clothing. Alpine Station Border Patrol agents teamed up with Brewster County Sheriff’s Office deputies to arrest a human smuggler and a group of migrants.

Texas border patrol agents find more than 20 illegal immigrants motel 'stash houses'

[FoxNews] More than 20 illegal immigrants were found in a Texas motel where rooms were being used as "stash houses."

Officials from the U.S. Border Patrol and the Texas Department of Public Safety found more than 20 illegal immigrants in multiple rooms of a Laredo motel on Jan. 13, according to the U.S. Border Patrol Laredo Sector.

Authorities were responding to a report of "suspicious activity" at the motel when the discovery was made.

"During the morning of Jan. 13, #TXDPS troopers and U.S. Border Patrol agents responded to a report of suspicious activity at a local motel in central Laredo. Once on scene, agents and troopers encountered over 20 undocumented individuals in multiple rooms of the motel," a Facebook post from the US Border Patrol Laredo Sector said.

The U.S. Border Patrol Laredo Sector also said that their agents and law enforcement partners "remain vigilant for actions by the criminal elements that attempt to exploit those they seek to smuggle for profit."

Just two days earlier, the U.S. Border Patrol Laredo Sector also announced that agents stopped a narcotics smuggling attempt and seized almost 400 lbs. of marijuana.

Border patrol agents were responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Jan. 10 in Laredo and found an abandoned SUV after it ran into a traffic sign.

Agents found five bundles of marijuana inside the vehicle, which is estimated to have a street value of $313,040 and weighs 391 lbs.

Suicide bomber targets PM Roble's spokesman in Mogadishu
[Garowe] A jacket wallah on Sunday targeted a senior Somalia's government official just days after another deadly attack in the Somali capital Mogadishu, amid ongoing political wrangles involving the opposition and the fragile UN-backed government.

State media said Mohammed Ibrahim Moalimuu, the official spokesperson of Prime Minister Mohammed Hussein Roble was targeted by a suicide bomber in the busy Dabka Junction in Mogadishu and suffered multiple injuries.

The PM H.E Roble strongly condemns the odious terrorist attack targeting Government Spokesman, Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim Moalimu who sustained injuries today but is in stable, pH balanced condition. The PM wishes Mr. MOALIMUU a quick recovery," said OPM.

It's not clear where Mohammed Moalimuu was going but Sunday is a normal working day in Somalia, a country where the majority of residents subscribe to Islam. The Dabka Junction is notorious for such incidents based on the data available in the media.

A photographer at the scene of the earth-shattering kaboom reported seeing body parts lying on the ground outside the house of Mohammed Ibrahim Moalimuu, who was rushed to a hospital, al-Jazeera reports. The number of casualties is not yet known.

Moalimuu has been giving official updates on the current political situation in Somalia including the recently concluded National Consultative Council [NCC] in which Prime Minister Mohammed Hussein Roble was leading following an electoral dispute.

The attack also comes just a few weeks after outgoing President Mohammed Abdullahi Farmaajo differed with Roble over security and elections in Somalia, leading to the NCC meeting. At one point, Farmaajo purported to have suspended Roble.

But the standoff was solved after the meeting which was also supervised by the international partners, who are important in Somalia's development agenda. Stakeholders agreed to have Lower House elections concluded by February 25.

Al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
has taken responsibility for the attack. The group is known to wage such acts within and outside Somalia. The murderous Moslems usually take responsibility by publishing on their propaganda media outlets.

Last week, the al-Shabaab also launched an attack in the northern part of Aden Adde International Airport, which left at least 8 people dead. The group usually targets senior government officials, security forces, and innocent civilians.

There have been deliberate efforts to degrade the al-Shabaab with the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...

Sudan arrests killer of police general
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Sudan’s Interior Ministry announced late Thursday the arrest of the killer of the Police Brig. Gen. Ali Praima Hammad, who was killed during the anti-coup protests. The killer confessed to killing the police general and wounding other coppers, said the police press office in a statement posted by the official news agency SUNA.

Earlier a police officer said that Praima had been stabbed to death in a knife attack.

The Head of the Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and government officials offered condolences to the family of the dear departed police general.

For his part, the army front man Tahir Abu Haja said that attacks on the armed forces and other regular forces "target the national security and the unity of Sudan".

The situation requires a serious assessment. There is no middle ground between Heaven and Hell. So, Freedom has no value if its fruits are death, blood and destruction," he stressed.

The security forces recently intensified the crackdown on the anti-coup protests which now involves the regular army and their armoured vehicles.

Until now 64 protesters were killed by the security forces and hundreds were maimed.

The confrontations, with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council forces, came after al-Wazir held images of the former president Ali Saleh inside the STC’s headquarters.

Day 3: Police in Manchester arrest two teenagers over Texas synagogue siege that saw anti-Semitic terrorist from Blackburn shot dead
Gee, maybe they can save a trip and interview Andy while they're there.
See Day 2 report here. Day 1 reports here and here. Also discussed yesterday here and here.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] ...as first picture of gunman emerges and his 'devastated' brother says: 'He had a criminal record. How was he allowed to travel?'
  • FBI identifies Texas synagogue shooter as 44-year-old Malik Faisal Akram, who is originally from Blackburn
Blackburn is only 30 km from Manchester, which too often appears for interesting reasons in our archives.
  • His brother, Gulbar, liaised with suspect in FBI incident room, blamed mental health issues for Faisal's auctions

  • Sibling also revealed Malik Akram had a criminal record and asked how he was able to enter the United States

  • Two teenagers from south Manchester have been arrested in connection with incident and were quizzed last night

  • US President Joe Biden condemned Akram's actions as an 'act of terror' during a PR event in Philadelphia

  • All four hostages have been released after the terrorist was shot and police stormed the Texas synagogue

  • Gunshots were heard at around 9pm CST (3am GMT) after a hostage was released and SWAT team stormed in

  • Dramatic footage captured the moment two of three remaining hostages ran out of the temple, with the gun totting terrorist right behind them before he quickly retreated inside after seeing the nearby SWAT team

  • A SWAT team had been deployed and the FBI was negotiating with him as the standoff entered hour eleven

  • Akram had demanded the release of 'Lady Al Qaeda' Aafia Siddiqui, who is serving 86 years at FMC Carswell, New York for the attempted murder of US military personnel, according to an ABC News report
The rabbi held during the siege, Charlie Cytron-Walker, has since revealed that Akram was 'increasingly belligerent and threatening' during the stand-off - which was partly livestreamed on Facebook because as part of the synagogue's planned morning shabbat.

President Biden said: 'I don't think
...he could stop there and have told the absolute truth, poor man...
there is sufficient information to know about why he targeted that synagogue, why he insisted on the release of someone who's been in prison for over 10 years, why he was engaged, why he was using anti-Semitic and anti-Israel comments'.

Biden later added that it is understood that Akram purchased the weapons used during the stand-off 'on the street' and spent his first night in the US 'in a homeless shelter'.

'He purchased them when he landed and it turns out there apparently were no bombs that we know of.

'He apparently spent the first night in a homeless shelter — I don't have all the details, so I'm reluctant to go into much more detail, but allegedly he purchased it on the street. What that means, I don't know if he purchased it from an individual in the homeless shelter or a homeless community.'

Asked if the incident meant a new push to restrict firearm access, Biden said: 'The idea of background checks are critical, but you can't stop something like this if someone is on the street buying something from somebody else on the street.'

He indicated he would have more to say at his upcoming Wednesday press conference.

Texas rabbi: Hostages managed to escape as gunman became ‘increasingly belligerent’

[IsraelTimes] Rabbi Charlie Cytron-Walker, among four people held hostage at his Congregation Beth Israel, said Sunday that the attacker grew "increasingly belligerent and threatening" toward the end of the 11-hour standoff, and revealed that the captives had escaped, crediting security courses he had taken for helping them flee.

Authorities identified the hostage-taker as a 44-year-old British national, Malik Faisal Akram, who was killed Saturday night after the last hostages ran out of the synagogue around 9 p.m and an FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
SWAT team rushed into the building, apparently shooting him dead.

"Over the years, my congregation and I have participated in multiple security courses from the Colleyville Police Department, the FBI, the Anti-Defamation League, and Secure Community Network," Cytron-Walker said in a statement late Sunday.

"We are alive today because of that education. I encourage all Jewish congregations, religious groups, schools, and others to participate in active-shooter and security courses," he said.

"In the last hour of our hostage crisis, the gunman became increasingly belligerent and threatening," Cytron-Walker added. "Without the instruction we received, we would not have been prepared to act and flee when the situation presented itself."

Asked to clarify whether the suspects escaped or were freed by the gunman, as indicated by other officials and the attacker’s family, a spokeswoman for Cytron-Walker told The Times of Israel, "They escaped."
Update at 12:45 a.m. ET: Heard on the local 11:00 pm news: The two teens arrested in Manchester are Mr. Akram’s sons. Separately, Mr. Akram is unsurprisingly starting to be described as a Pakistani-Brit. As for me, I wonder why a mentally unbalanced petty criminal who landed in New York City would go all the way to the wilds of Texas to attack a minor synagogue noted for its work with Moslems, alternative lifestyles, and other “good works”.

#13  (wfaa.com) DALLAS — The standoff had lasted more than 11 hours, and Charlie Cytron-Walker, the rabbi at Congregation Beth Israel, knew the situation wasn't improving.

Cytron-Walker and two other men were still being held hostage, as they had been most of the day Saturday, inside their synagogue in Colleyville. None of the hostages had been hurt.

But the suspect, Malik Faisal Akram, had a gun, and "he wasn't getting what he wanted," Cytron-Walker said Monday in an interview with CBS Morning News.

"It didn't look good," Cytron-Walker told the network. "It didn't sound good."

So, Cytron-Walker looked for an opening. When Akram "wasn't in a good position," Cytron-Walker made sure the other two hostages were ready.

Cytron-Walker then told them to flee, as he threw a chair toward Akram. The three hostages bolted for the door and escaped, a moment captured on video by WFAA.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Mystery surrounds loud 'explosions' heard overnight in western Iran
[Rudaw] Iranian security forces on Sunday denied links to the loud explosion that rattled several provinces in western Iran
...The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both...
overnight, media affiliated to them said in a tweet, as they noted that the bang was just a massive "thunder."

Witnesses reported hearing loud explosions last night in several provinces including Kermanshah, Kurdistan and Hamadan. Almost 12 hours after the incident, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the loud explosion is not linked to the force’s activities in any way or shape.

"The explosions heard in west of the country have no connection to the activities of the security forces or anti-air defense systems," informed sources said, according to Tasnim News Agency. "The real source of the sounds heard were the occurrence of lightning in west of the country."

The authorities failed to say anything following the blasting sound, raising concerns, fear and questions among people.

A Twitter user emphasized the importance of authorities of informing the public of the happenings, while mockingly adding, "Maybe they themselves do not know what has happened."

The Iranian authorities’ statement comes in response to an IRGC-affiliated news hound who urged them to brief the public of what happened, rather than keep silent.

Previously, the governor of Asadabad city in Hamadan province had ruled out that the blast was the sound of thunder.

"We had no explosions in the city," Saeed Kitabi told Fars News Agency of the IRGC. "This was ruled out," he added, noting that they were investigating the causes of the loud blast.

The Khatam al-Anbia air defense command, which is responsible for planning and coordinating joint military operations within the Iranian forces, said that its systems did not carry out any tests and any news to the contrary is false, according to IRGC media outlets.

There were speculation that Israel may have targeted IRGC bases in western Iran.

"Israel knows better what is happening there," another social media user said on Twitter.

A third user compared the authorities silence to the time Iran stayed quiet for three days, as 176 people were killed when an Ukranian airliner was shot down over Tehran following the US liquidation of IRGC General Qassem Soleimani
.

Flights were also cancelled in western Iran overnight but the authorities said that the cancellation was due to the bad weather.
