So the question now is....
Was the PRANK actually just a process to mislead and disrupt any prepared organized citizen defense?

Turkey: Opposition HDP lawmaker gets prison sentence
[AA.TR] A Ottoman Turkish court on Thursday sentenced a politician from the opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) to over six years in prison for being a member of an armed terrorist group, according to a judicial source.

The 4th Heavy Penal Court in southeastern Diyarbakir province handed Kemal Bulbul, the HDP politician from Antalya, six years and three months in prison, said the source on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The HDP is accused of having links to the YPG/PKK terror group by the Ottoman Turkish government.

, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants. The YPG is its Syrian offshoot.

Citing security sources, the five people were arrested in the Mandakoru area of Kypsela (Κύψελα, Ottoman Turkish: Ipsala) district in Adrianoupoli (Αδριανούπολη, Ottoman Turkish: Edirne) province in northwest Turkey.

Two of the arrested are accused of belonging to the Fethullah Gülen

Iraq
Iraqi military is training Abu Zainab al-Lami, a former member of an Iran-backed militia, who is under US sanctions for killing protesters
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Al Ahram has the article:
The U.S. killing of Iranian military criminal mastermind Qassem Soleimani
and the Iraqi paramilitary chief Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis in a dronezap in Baghdad in January left the militias in disarray earlier this year

The Iraqi military is training a former member of an Iran-backed militia, who is under U.S. sanctions for killing protesters, to become a high-ranking officer in the army, according to six government, security and militia officials.

They said that Hussein Falih Aziz, known as Abu Zainab al-Lami, had been sent to Egypt with Iraqi officers for a year-long training normally reserved for the country's military personnel.

A defence ministry document seen by Rooters showed his name, with the rank Major General, on a list of officers attending the training until next summer.

Making Lami a senior officer in the army is one of the boldest moves yet by Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, a U.S. ally, to dilute the power of Iran-backed militias in Iraq, the officials said, and aligns with Washington's stated desire to curtail Tehran's influence across the Middle East.

An Iraqi government front man and Iranian officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

A source close to Lami confirmed his deployment to Egypt for training.

Supporters of the plan see it as a way of weakening militias that boast tens of thousands of fighters and who hold considerable sway over Iraq's security and economy.

They say it will hasten the fracturing of some groups belonging to the Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF), the state paramilitary umbrella organization whose security branch Lami has directed for years.

The PMF did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

An Iraqi official, speaking on behalf of the government, declined to comment on Lami, but said there was a plan to restructure the PMF, including providing military training to its leaders.

Some critics, however, call it a risky gambit that puts someone with a questionable human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
record and who has been close to Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
at the heart of the Iraqi military.

They see it as another sign the prime minister is giving concessions even to some of the most hardline, Iran-aligned officials to secure support for his government.

"The plan is to bring onside PMF leaders who are not seen as totally loyal to Iran and to ready them through this military training for positions inside the military and security apparatus," said a security official.

"Lami will be given a senior position when training is completed," added the official, who declined to be named because of the sensitivity of the issue. He did not specify what post Lami would take up.

Egyptian military officials denied Lami was among a batch of Iraqi officers undergoing training in Egypt. But one Egyptian security source said he had been in Egypt in October, without elaborating.

U.S. SANCTIONS
Lami is the head of security for Iraq's state paramilitary grouping and a one-time member of the Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah militia. The source close to him denied he had any formal ties to Iran or the militias it supports.

He was put under U.S. sanctions in 2019 for his alleged role, first reported by Rooters, in ordering the use of lethal force against anti-government protesters. Lami has since denied any role in the killing of peaceful demonstrators.

The tenure of Kadhimi, who took office in May, has been marked by a face-off between his government and parts of the armed forces on one side, and Iran-aligned militias on the other.

The U.S. killing of Iranian military criminal mastermind Qassem Soleimani and the Iraqi paramilitary chief Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis in a dronezap in Baghdad in January left the militias in disarray earlier this year.

Kadhimi has sided with the United States in efforts to weaken Iran-aligned Shi'ite Moslem groups that have grown to dominate Iraq's economy and state institutions since the U.S.-led overthrow of Sunni dictator Saddam Hussein in 2003.

The U.S. state department declined to comment for this article.

Kadhimi has made security sector reform a priority, focusing on a reshuffle of top state security posts.

Yet U.S. and Iraqi officials say the militias continue to harass the 3,000 or so remaining U.S. troops based in Iraq. Some lesser-known militia groups said they were behind rocket attacks on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad.

An Iraqi security official said recruiting Lami into the army was part of an attempt by Kadhimi to bring the PMF closer to his government.

The PMF nominally reports to the prime minister, but its most dominant factions are close to Iran - something Kadhimi is trying to change.

Sheikh Ali al-Asadi, an official in the Iran-aligned Nujaba militia group, said giving Lami full officer training was a sign of the PMF's strength, and not something that would weaken the paramilitaries.

"This is proof of the PMF's success - someone being taken from the PMF to work in the army shows how strong it's become," he told Rooters.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Head Of Iran's Nuclear Weapons Project Whacked
[Zero Hedge] - Amid speculation that Israel is on war footing over a possible strike in Iran in the coming weeks, moments ago Iranian state media reported that the country's top nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was assassinated in Damavand, east of Tehran. He was reportedly accompanied by his bodyguard when they were attacked by a "suicide" attacker at the entrance of Absard town.
Allan Snackbar!
ULULULULULULULULULULU *gasp* ULULULULU!!
According to Iran Front Page News, Fakhrizadeh was killed by shooting, but before the shootout, his car has been stopped with an explosion at Mostafa Khomeini Blvd. Several others are also reportedly killed in the incident, but haven’t been identified yet.

Fakhrizadeh was a brigadier general in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC) and headed Iran’s nuclear weapons project.

He was a professor of physics at the Imam Hussein University in Tehran and was former head of Iran's Physics Research Center.
Zero Hedge has updated this post twice since this morning.
Update 1:
IRANIAN NUCLEAR SCIENTIST FAKHRIZADEH DIES IN HOSPITAL AFTER ATTACK - STATE MEDIA

"Unfortunately, the medical team did not succeed in reviving (Fakhrizadeh), and a few minutes ago, this manager and scientist achieved the high status of martyrdom after years of effort and struggle," Iran’s armed forces said in a statement carried by state media.

Update 2:
Iran Blames Israel, US For Assassination Of Top Nuclear Scientist

Fakhrizadeh's assassination comes after Trump reportedly considered bombing Iran and days after US Sec Pompeo had a secret meeting in Saudi Arabia with MBS, Netanyahu, the Mossad Chief, Israeli NatSec Advisor & the Israeli Military Secretary.

The assassination, which comes at a time when Joe Biden has expressed an interest in resetting relations with Iran and has said the U.S. could re-enter the nuclear agreement if Iran returns to compliance, is likely to trigger the sort of popular anger that followed the January assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in a U.S. drone strike ordered by Trump.

According to Bloomberg, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declined to comment, as did officials at the Pentagon. The Central Intelligence Agency didn’t immediately respond to questions about whether the U.S. had knowledge of plans to carry out an assassination.

ISIS launches big attack on Syrian Army troops near strategic highway
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS/ISIS/IS/ISIS) has continued their campaign in the eastern countryside of Hama, as their fighters targeted the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions near the Ithriya crossroad. According to field reports, the Islamic State attacked a Syrian Army unit in eastern Hama on Wednesday, resulting in a number of casualties within the rank of the military.

Not long after the Islamic State launched the attack, the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces (NDF) sent reinforcements to the eastern Hama front in order to drive back the terrorists.

The reinforcements provided much needed relief to the embattled troops, as they were able to drive back the Islamic State hard boyz from the Ithriya area.

The following day, the Islamic State once again launched attacks in eastern Hama and Homs, forcing the Syrian Arab Army to respond with a powerful counterassault to drive back the hard boyz and prevent and ground from being captured.

As a result of the festivities on Wednesday and Thursday, the Islamic State suffered a large number of casualties, including several dead members of the terrorist group.

Since the start of 2020, the Islamic State has moved their operations from the eastern part of the Badiya al-Sham region to the Hama and al-Raqqa governorates, as these areas were not fortified and lacked the necessary forces to protect it.

Turkish forces withdraw from strategic city in northwestern Syria
[ALMASDARNEWS] In the last 72 hours, the Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces have begun withdrawing their troops from two important areas in northwestern Syria.According to a new report from the Aleppo Governorate, the Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces have begun withdrawing their troops and equipment from the Saraqib area, putting an end to their presence that was meant to stop the Syrian Arab Army’s advance in the Idlib Governorate.

The report said the Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces brought in several transport trucks to withdraw not only their soldiers, but also their heavy equipment that has been there for several months.

Like their withdrawal from the other observation posts besieged by the Syrian Arab Army, the Ottoman Turkish troops will likely take a few days to clear the site before the last of their forces leave Saraqib.

With the withdrawal of the Ottoman Turkish forces from the Saraqib observation post, the Syrian government will now have full access to the area, including the surrounding sites near the strategic M-5 Highway.

Prior to this withdrawal, the Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces began moving their troops out of their observation post in the Rashideen 5 area.

Like Saraqib, the Rashideen 5 observation post is completely besieged by the Syrian Arab Army and has been for several months.
