Afghanistan
Cannon Airmen to receive Distinguished Flying Cross
[AFSOC] Two Cannon Airmen will be awarded the oldest American military aviation award at the 9th Special Operations Squadron Auditorium on base Jan. 5, 2018.

Brig. Gen. William G. Holt, Air Force Special Operations Command Director of Operations, will present Capt. Charlotte Raabe and Staff Sgt. Gary Bjerke of the 9th SOS the Distinguished Flying Cross for conducting an emergency aerial resupply to U.S. troops while under direct fire from the enemy.

Both Airmen were part of a 6-man aircrew on a MC-130J Commando II aircraft conducting an emergency resupply airdrop to a team of United States and Coalition Special Operations Forces who were under hostile fire in an isolated area in Afghanistan. Raabe acted as the Combat Systems Officer while Bjerke was the aircraft’s loadmaster.

Raabe had to make recalculations while the aircraft went through an area where the enemy’s small arms and anti-aircraft artillery could reach her aircraft with lethal effectiveness. Despite the aircraft taking fire, Raabe prepared the aircrew to still deliver the resupply. Bjerke readied himself to drop it out of the back.

"It did not set in that we were taking fire until the ramp and door had opened," Bjerke said. "I distinctively remember hearing the cracks of the bullets passing behind the aircraft. The only thing I could think of was that this resupply needed to be executed successfully. I was entirely focused on doing what I had to in order get the drop off."

The airdrop bundle effectively landed within 50 meters of the Special Forces team, providing critical ammunition and supplies that directly contributed to the successful counterattack by the team. As a result, the entire Special Operations team was safely evacuated in a timely matter after achieving national level objectives.

"Charli and Gary represent the best of what Air Commandos bring to the work we do every day at home and abroad," said Lt. Col. Matthew Bartlett, 9th SOS commander. "It is an honor to be able to recognize them for the selfless professionalism they exhibited a year ago in Afghanistan."

The DFC is the fifteenth highest U.S. Military decoration awarded to any officer or enlisted member of the U.S. Armed Forces who distinguishes himself or herself in support of operations by heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in an aerial flight, subsequent to Nov. 11, 1918. Other aviators in the exclusive group include Alan Shepard, John Glenn, Amelia Earhart and President George H.W. Bush.

"It is very humbling to receive this award," Bjerke said. "I was surprised when I was notified and I am honored to receive it."

Al-Shabaab Suspects Destroy Safaricom Mast In Wajir
[RADIOSHABELLE] Suspected al-Shabaab
... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia...
murderous Moslems have destroyed a Safaricom communication mast in Kutulo, Wajir County, paralysing communication.

The incident is said to have happened sometime after 1 a.m. Sunday.

The same mast is said to have been destroyed some years back by the krazed killers.

In an interview with Nation, Wajir County Police Commander Stephen Ng’etich said a huge kaboom was heard when the unknown number of attackers went kaboom! a device forcing officers at the nearby station to scamper for safety since they were unaware of what was happening.

Shortly after, the officers returned and a shootout between them and the murderous Moslems ensued.

"Our officers engaged in a shootout with the murderous Moslems before they fled," said the commander.

He added that no officer was injured in the process.

"At first we were worried about the whereabouts of our officers since we had lost communication with them before sending a reinforcement team from Tarbaj and Kutulo who reported to us that all our officers were safe," he said.

The commander added that they suspect the murderous Moslems wanted to disrupt communication between Kutulo and El Wak in Mandera Town in order to give them an upper hand as they carry out their terrorist activities.

"We suspect that their aim was to disrupt communication between Kutulo and El Wak where they have been carrying out their terrorist activities," said Mr Ng’etich.

Mr Ng’etich said that they have sent reinforcements in the area and security officers are currently in pursuit of the krazed killers.

He called on the residents to share crucial information with the security agencies in order to help them in their fight against terror.

"All we can say is that the enemy is here with us and unless there is co-operation between residents, security agencies and all the players we are headed [for] tough times ahead," he said.

murderous Moslems have launched an attack against Somali military outpost in the outskirts of Bal’ad district in Middle Shabelle region on Sunday.

The assault began with heavy shelling on the army base in Golgoley locality, leading to an exchange of gunfire which raged on about an hour, according to the local residents.

The army has repelled the attack and pushed back the murderous Moslems during the confrontation. It was immediately unclear the exact number of the casualty figures on both sides.

Al-Shabaab has intensified its ambush attacks on Somali and AU forces in southern Somalia, in an attempt to outs the UN-backed Federal government in Mogadishu.

Houthi air defenses shoot down Saudi Tornado warplane over north Yemen
[ALMASDARNEWS] Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
rebels have shot down a Saudi warplane whilst it was conducting an attack over northern Yemen. The downed aircraft is of a Western European Cold War-era design.

Reports are emerging that a Panavia Tornado of the Saudi Royal Air Force has been shot down by Houthi air defenses whilst it was on a combat mission in the skies over Saada province in northern Yemen.

Initial reports of the aircraft downing did not clarify what kind of warplane had been shot out of the sky, leaving mystery as to whether it belonged to the Saudi or Emirati air forces.

However,
death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate...
the identification of the aircraft as a Panavia Tornado means that it must belong to the Saudi Royal Air Force since it is the only regional air force to use such a warplane.

At the present time, the type of air defense weapon used by Houthi fighters has not been mentioned.

The Panavia Tornado is a joint British-West German-Italian strike fighter aircraft design originally entering service with Western European air forces in 1979.

Massive car bomb explosion rocks Idlib, over 100 dead
[ALMASDARNEWS] A massive kaboom shook the rebel stronghold of Idlib late on Sunday, as a boom-mobile went kaboom! within the city.

According to our sources, the kaboom took place in the 30th district area of Idlib, a major city under control of Hayyat Tahrir al-Sham
(HTS, formerly the al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
Front). The blow came from a parked car that was apparently loaded with explosives and caused massive damage to the area.

The explosive car was parked right next to a training base for members of the Caucasus Emirate, an al-Qaeda affiliated terrorist organization originating from Chechnya that has been providing imported muscle for HTS for years.

Over 100 people are reported to have died in the enormous blast, which is considered one of the biggest kabooms to ever have it the war-plagued city of Idlib, while at least 100 more people have been injured. While many casualties are turbans of HTS and its affiliates, reports have it that also many civilians have been hit by the blast.

Russian air force bombs rebels 30 times in one day
[ALMASDARNEWS] Sunday has turned out to be a very active day for the Russian aerial support to Syria, as the air force carried out over 30 sorties against murderous Moslem positions in South Idlib and North Hama.

The constant bombing runs against positions held by al-Qaeda linked group Hayyat Tahrir al-Sham
(HTS, formerly Al-Nusra Front) have effectively destroyed the terrorist organization’s capacity to respond to a massive offensive mounted by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) during the past days, which resulted in a massive liberation of territory in the southern Idlib Governorate.

Syrian army breaks rebel siege of key East Damascus military base
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has succesfully broken the siege of the armoured vehicle military base in Harasta, East Damascus.

Units from the elite 4th Armoured Division of the Syrian army broke through the defensive lines of the rebel forces on Sunday and entered the Harasta vehicle base from the west. Earlier that day, the 4th Division had taken over the mill factory building overlooking the base, which allowed for the successful final push.

Immediately after securing the western edge of the base, the Syrian forces set up a corridor for the supply of food, medicine and military supplies to the soldiers inside the base, who had been cut off from the outside for days.

Currently, military operations are still going on in order to fully secure the base from all sides and to prevent a rebel counterattack.

Dozens of Golan-300 rockets obliterate militant defenses as veteran brigade arrives in east Damascus
[ALMASDARNEWS] A veteran battle-group of the Syrian Arab Army has officially joined the powerful counter-offensive by government forces in the east Damascus district of Harasta. The formation announced its arrival via a crescendo of rocket fire delivered onto jihadist positions.

The elite al-Ghaith Group of the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division (itself a veteran formation) has officially joined the ongoing battle in east Damascus’ Harasta district after news of its assignment to this front surfaced several days ago.

The first asset of the battle-group to make its presence felt was the formation’s unique Golan-300 multiple-launch heavy rocket systems. To this effect, many dozens of the rockets have been unleashed onto the positions of jihadist snuffies in what appears to be a round-the-clock saturation bombardment.

A video of rocket bombardment is available at the end of this article.

Nine days ago, al-Qaeda and Moslem Brüderbund affiliated gangs in east Damascus launched an offensive against Syrian forces in Harasta, isolating a key army base but failing to take it. Since then, the Syrian Army has moved major reinforcements into east Damascus and, over the last several days, has been in the midst of a counter-offensive aimed at retaking the entire district.

Surrendering jihadists turn over tanks, armed pickups to Syrian Army in rural west Damascus
[ALMASDARNEWS] Surrendered jihadist bandidos gunnies have turned over tanks, armed pickups and other weapons to the Syrian Arab Army as part of a greater reconciliation deal made almost two weeks ago in western Damascus province’s Beit Jinn valley region.

On Sunday, surrendered button men of the Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham
(formerly Jabhat al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) terrorist group from the Beit Jinn valley region of western Damascus province turned over their medium and heavy weapons to the Syrian Arab Army at the town of Hina.

Two battle tanks, scores of armed pickups, heavy machine guns and shoulder-fired rocket launchers represented the bulk of the weapons to be surrendered. The now ex-bandidos gunnies will now be allowed to return to their normal lives.

The event was the third phase of a greater evacuation-reconciliation deal reached between the Syrian government and jihadist bandidos gunnies in the Beit Jinn valley region almost two week ago.

Prior to this, other bandidos gunnies from the region who did not want to reconcile with the government left the Beit Jinn region under the assured protection of the Syrian Arab Army towards rebel-held areas in the provinces of Daraa and Idlib.

Now only one more phase to the reconciliation deal remains to be fulfilled and this involves the Syrian Arab Army reopening the road that runs between the towns of Mazaraat Beit Jinn and Beit Jinn.
