Afghanistan
Kandahar-Helmand Highway Reopened
Local officials in Helmand said the first convoy of security forces traveled through Helmand-Kandahar Highway on Monday after it was cleared of mines and insurgents following a large-scale military operation conducted by Afghan troops over the past few weeks.

The road has not yet been reopened for civilians, but local officials said it will soon be open to the public.

Reports indicate that the highway was closed for traffic for one month due to clashes and the presence of Taliban.

Helmand governor Hayatullah Hayat said in a ceremony that parts of the road have been destroyed by the militants.

"The military operation continued for three weeks to reopen the highway. We have defused hundreds of mines [planted by insurgents]. The road is not the one you used to travel through; the enemies of this soil have destroyed it," he said.

Meanwhile, a number of Helmand residents said acres of agricultural land located along both sides of the highway has been damaged due to the war.

"We are faced with a lack of water. Our trees and lands are dry and they need irrigation," said Jan Mohammad, a resident of Helmand.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least 11 foreign murderous Moslems were killed during an Arclight airstrike in southeastern Khost province
... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name...

Acording to MoI, the Arclight airstrike was carried out late on Saturday evening in Speera District. "Yesterday evening, during an Arclight airstrike, 11 foreign country’s armed Taliban were killed and one vehicle with some amount of light and heavy rounds of ammunition was destroyed."

MoI further added that the Afghan National Police repelled an armed Taliban attack in which three armed Taliban were killed.

The incident took place in Khak Riz District of southern Kandahar province, MoI said, adding that Afghan National Police discovered and detected four roadside kabooms placed by enemies of peace and stability in Wam Dara village, Arghistan District of Kandahar province.

The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) have stepped up operations to suppress the insurgency activities of the holy warrior groups who are attempting to expand insurgency as part of their spring offensive.

Third bomb strikes Kabul, Afghanistan
[KCRA] A third bombing hit Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
, Afghanistan, after two others that killed nearly two dozen people and injured nearly 100 on Monday.

It was unclear how many casualties the third blast caused or whether it had any connection to the earlier bombings.

The latest attack took place behind the Kabul bank in the Shar-e-Naw area of the city, according to a police officer at the scene. The police officer described one kaboom carried out by one attacker inside a car.

Taliban faceless myrmidons grabbed credit for the first two kabooms Monday near the Afghan Ministry of Defense in Kabul that killed two dozen people.

Saleem Rasooli, head of Kabul hospitals, told CNN at least 24 people had been killed in the attack, which also injured 91 others.

The afternoon attack included an initial bombing, followed by a suicide kaboom, said Sediq Sediqi, front man for the Afghan Ministry of Information.

The first blast was a magnetic bomb and the following suicide kaboomer was wearing an Afghan national army uniform, said Fraidoon Obaidi, chief of the Kabul police Criminal Investigation Department.

Among the dead, which included both security forces and civilians, were the head of Kabul's second police district and his deputy, Obaidi said.

Taliban front man Zabiullah Mujahed tweeted that the Taliban had carried out the attack, the latest of several kidnappings and bombings blamed on the hardline religious terrorist group.

Afghanistan's Caped President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
conveyed his condolences to the victims' families and denounced the methods of terrorist groups.

"The enemies of Afghanistan have lost their ability to fight the security and defense forces of the country and thus attack highways, cities, mosques, schools and common people," Ghani said in a statement issued by his office.

The increased violence has heightened security fears in Kabul, Afghanistan's capital city.

Somalia: Kenyan Police On Alert Over Possible Al-Shabaab Attack
[ALLAFRICA] Security personnel in Mandera county are still on high alert although the area has not witnessed any major attack in two months. County commissioner Fredrick Shisia on Saturday told the Star on the phone the security agents are not leaving anything to chance and are working round the clock to ensure all loopholes used by al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
to carry out attacks are completely sealed off.

"We have managed to seal most of the loopholes. That is why al-Shabaab have been unable to penetrate and attack us," he said.

Shisia said security has been increased, especially along the Kenya-Somalia border. "Terror-related crime have reduced drastically over the past two months due to the continued cooperation with the Jubaland government," he said.

He praised residents for cooperating with the security agents, saying they have won their confidence "We have also received a lot of political goodwill from the area leadership. This has gone a long way in enhancing security," Shisia said.

He said the security agencies and residents should not be complacent as a result of the current calm. "Al-Shabaab murderous Moslems have not gone to sleep but are exploiting every available opportunity to attack us. We must remain alert," Shisia said.

He said al-Shabaab have been flushed out of Lafey subcounty where they have been carrying out attacks on vehicles plying the Mandera-Wajir route.

Sevdet Besim, 19,

had faced a maximum sentence of life in prison after pleaded guilty in Victoria state's Supreme Court in June to one count of planning for a terrorist act.

On Monday, the court instead ordered Besim to serve a 10-year prison term, with the possibility of parole after 7 ½ years.

Prosecutors said Besim was involved in a plot to attack last year's services in Melbourne or the neighboring city of Dandenong marking ANZAC Day, the annual commemoration of the 1915 Gallipoli landings in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
. The campaign was the first major military action fought by the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps during World War I and hundreds of thousands of people attend commemoration services around Australia.

Police said Besim was motivated by an murderous Moslem ideology and had expressed support for the Islamic State group.

In court documents, prosecutors said that Besim and a British accomplice had also discussed packing a kangaroo with explosives and painting it with the Islamic State symbol before setting it loose on Australian coppers. The documents don't suggest the alleged kangaroo plot was linked to the ANZAC Day plot.

Mystery member of Paris attacks cell only captured in July despite posting on Facebook from Belgium
[TELEGRAPH.CO.UK] A previously unknown member of the Gay Paree terror attacks cell managed to evade capture until July despite regular public posts on Facebook from Belgium, according to intelligence documents.

Isil had plans to conduct follow-up attacks in "several locations" after the Gay Paree attacks, but had problems finding recruits for strikes in the UK, an expert who viewed intelligence documents has told the Telegraph.

The mystery Moroccan suspect, called Abid Tabaouni, is believed to have been part of a three-man unit ordered to take part in an even wider series of attacks than those that left 130 dead in and around Gay Paree on November 13.

Gangs of Colonists Migrants Sexually Attack Girls At German Festival
[BREITBART] A gang of migrants colonists in the German town of Essen have engaged in Cologne
...a lovely city in Germany. They invented perfume there...
-style sex attacks at a festival where police have received reports of at least ten separate incidents.

Yet another festival in Germany has been the scene of migrant crime as roving gangs of migrants colonists sexually attacked multiple female victims on Friday and Saturday. The festival in the town of Essen known as "Essen Original" had gone over two decades without any major incident and was largely considered a family friendly event. That changed this weekend as police made at least seven arrests of migrants colonists who had groped and harassed several women German paper Westen Allgemeine Zeitung reports.

Police presence at the festival this year was the highest it has ever been and they report that the three-day festival was completely overshadowed by "men with apparent migration background" molesting and attacking various girls in large groups in the same vein as the Cologne attacks on New Year’s Eve.

Five suspected foreign trained militants arrested in Karachi
KARACHI: Police’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Monday claimed to have arrested five suspects involved in sectarian killings in the metropolis.

Speaking at press conference at CTD Civil Lines, the senior officer claimed the held suspects were involved in killings of religious scholars, doctors and prominent personalities on sectarian grounds and were planning to target ‘prominent religious scholars’ before Eidul Azha.

"They were allegedly involved in targeted killings of Mufti Ghulam Akbar, Mufti Kamran Husain, Hafiz Mohammad Sajid, Dr. Fazlur Rehman, Maulana Yasir and others."

"Arrested suspects are foreign trained," additional inspector general of police, CTD, Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi said.

“Karachi has become a battlefield for proxy war of foreign countries who wanted to destabilise Pakistan generally and Karachi particularly,” elaborated the counter-terror force chief.

Abbasi said the CTD has “spotted” such elements who planned to recruit the people and send them abroad for training.

"One of the suspect's is a master mind of sectarian killings," he claimed, adding that he was born in Sukkur and migrated to Karachi and has done his masters in economics.

Sharing the initial investigation report of the held suspects, the CTD Sindh chief said that the gang of militants had killed Hafiz Sajid, owner of My Choice Bakery in Shah Faisal Colony, because the victim had served as a “guard” of Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi.

He further added the suspects had also recently gunned down Mufti Kamran and Mufti Ghulam Akbar inside a seminary in Gulshan-i-Iqbal who were affiliated with the banned Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamaat

Islamic State claims suicide bomb that kills nine in central Baghdad

[REUTERS] At least nine people were killed in Baghdad late on Monday in a car kaboom claimed by Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
near a hospital in a central district, police and hospital sources said.

A jacket wallah had targeted a gathering of Shi'ite Moslems in the Karrada district, according to a statement circulated online by the Amaq news agency, which supports the ultra-hardline Sunni Death Eater group.

The police and hospital sources said 20 people were also maimed in the blast and they expected the corpse count to rise.

The fight against Islamic State, which seized a third of Iraq's territory in 2014, has exacerbated a long-running sectarian conflict in Iraq, mostly between the Shi'ite majority and the Sunni minority.

The Death Eaters have lost ground in the past year to U.S.-backed government forces and Iranian-backed Shi'ite militias, but such bombings show they can still strike outside the territory they control in northern and western Iraq.

Monday's blast occurred not far from the site of an Islamic State suicide kaboom in July that killed 324 people in one of the deadliest bombings of its sort in Iraq since U.S.-led forces toppled Saddam Hussein 13 years ago.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Palestinian tries to run over police in East Jerusalem, is killed
[IsraelTimes] Second assailant is moderately maimed as car attempts to ram into Border Police in Shuafat, officials say; no Israelis hurt

A Paleostinian assailant was killed in East Jerusalem Sunday night when he and a second man attempted to run over police and Border Police forces in East Jerusalem, security officials said.

According to authorities, troops were concluding an operation in the Shuafat refugee camp when the vehicle with the two Paleostinians attempted to hit them.

Border Policemen fired at the vehicle, killing one attacker and moderately wounding another.

No Israeli troops were hurt in the incident.

On Friday a Border Police officer sustained minor leg injuries when he was hit by a car that failed to stop at a checkpoint in the East Jerusalem village of Issawiya. The driver expeditiously departed at a goodly pace.

The past 10 days have seen several arrests of knife-bearing Paleostinians in checkpoints in the Jerusalem area, who are thought to have planned attacks against Israelis.

A Paleostinian man was rubbed out by IDF troops on August 26 when he ran toward a guard post near the West Bank settlement of Ofra, north of Ramallah. He was apparently unarmed, but did not heed the soldiers’ repeated orders to halt. A senior Paleostinian official later said the man suffered from mental illness.
It's always dangerous to have an imperfect grasp of reality, more so when you are untreated and your people are waging a low grade war against a vastly superior enemy.
Since October, 35 Israelis and four foreign nationals have been killed in a spate of car-ramming, stabbing, shooting, and bombing attacks. Some 215 Paleostinians have also been killed, most of them while attempting attacks, according to Israel.
Such an encouraginging ratio -- Darwin always wins.
Others were killed in festivities with security forces.

Sporting-goods merchant indicted for selling materials to Hamas since 2008
[Ynet] The owner of a chain of sporting-goods stores has been charged in an Israeli court for selling to Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, scuba gear, weights and workout clothing at a discount to Hamas's bully boy wing.

The southern district's district attorney for criminal matters filed an indictment on Sunday with the Be'er Sheva District Court against a Gazook merchant who smuggled diving equipment into the Strip without a permit and sold it to Hamas's military wing. In addition, he has been accused large quantities of sports equipment and clothes.

The defendant, 40-year-old Abed Skalla, is also charged with, inter alia, four counts of committing security offenses by contacting a foreign agent, providing services to an unauthorized association, and aggravated fraud.

Skalla is alleged to possess sporting goods stores and a sewing workshop in the Gazoo Strip. According to the indictment, from 2008 to 2012, he smuggled scuba-diving equipment that he had purchased from an Italian company from Egypt to Gazoo via tunnels. In 2009, he allegedly sold to a member of the Hamas naval police 200 diving fins and 15 diving masks and more similar equipment in 2012.

He is further charged with having sold about 75 sets of sports clothing to the person responsible for Hamas's Nukhba Unit--an elite section of their military wing--for their operatives. At Skalla's brother's request, the items were allegedly sold at a substantial discount. He is also charged with selling hundreds of sets of sports clothing in recent years to Hamas bully boys.

The indictment further specifies the contacts between the defendant and Hamas bully boys. In 2008, Skalla allegegedly sold to a senior commander a facility intended for weight-training for his cell.

In 2014, a shipment arrived for the defendant at the port of Ashdod. It was stopped on entry to the Gazoo Strip, as it contained diving masks that are forbidden for import into Gazoo. They were returned to the truck driver, who alerted Skalla that four pallets had not been imported. However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
the defendant allegedly managed to get about 60 of the forbidden masks into the Strip.

In May of 2015, Skalla is alleged to have sold $30,000 worth of sports equipment to Hamas's bully boy wing for $27,000.

One Army battalion going after each Abu Sayyaf leader
[PHILSTAR] The military forces have matched each sub-leader of the Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder...
Group with a battalions of troops after the rebels splintered into factions to escape, an official said on Monday.

Maj. Filemon Tan Jr., front man of Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom), said the manhunt operations are occuring alongside offensive to crush the murderous Moslems, who have been blamed for the spate of recent kidnappings and beheadings.

"Each battalion is running after different group leaders and the operations there go simultaneously. It's relentless. It's just a matter of time as kung sino and makabunggo agad," Tan told newsmen here.

At least two military brigades with more than 10 battalions have been combing the jungles while additional forces are arriving in Sulu, Tan said.

He said additional three more battalions of troops are on their way to Sulu.

The troops are scattered at certain target areas to look for top Abu Sayyaf men, including big shots Radulan Sahiron and Alhabsy Misaya.

"The landscape (in Sulu) now, the Abu Sayyaf group splintered. Their purpose is to evade so that they cannot be traced," Tan said.

The military official said there is a possibility the Abu Sayyaf would be blending in with the civilian populace to escape.

The military official also said they will not hesitate to utilize batteries of cannons if there are areas that could be reached and if ground intelligence reports could confirm the presence of the Abu Sayyaf.

"If there is positive confirmation it will be bombarded with cannons as troops go along with the operation," Tan said.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Free Syrian Army Gains Control Over Six Aleppo Towns
Ankara-Six Syrian villages in Aleppo are now under the control of Free Syrian Army (FSA) forces as part of Operation Euphrates Shield which began on August 24, the Turkish Army announced.

The towns, al-Qadi, Kobbet al-Turikman, al-Battal hill, Aar hill, al-Suwaida, and Waqef in Aleppo northern countryside were cleared of ISIS terrorists.

The statement issued by the Turkish army on Sunday said that 83 terrorist sites were targeted by 293 bomb shells. In addition, F16 warplanes destroyed four ISIS locations in Qadi and Waqef villages.

The Turkish army reinforced its units on the Turkish-Syrian border, including armed forces and tanks brought from several Turkish districts to Kilis.

On Sunday, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim delivered a speech announcing Ankara’s military successes.

He said: “Thank God, today, from Azaz to Jarablus, our 91km of borderline with Syria has been entirely secured.” He added: “All the terrorist organizations were pushed back – they are gone.”

Yildirim said Turkey would never allow the formation of an artificial state in the north of Syria. “We are there with Euphrates Shield, we are there to protect our border, to provide for our citizens safety of life and property, and to ensure Syria’s integrity.”

Meanwhile, Turkish EU minister Omer Celik said that operation Euphrates Shield will continue because Turkey would not want to see headquarters and flags of Kurdish Workers’ Party and ISIS on the borders.

Celik added that Turkey doesn’t want to put its citizens under the danger of any possible rockets in the area stretching from the town of Rai to Jarablus.

His statement came as the U.S. embassy in Turkey announced that the U.S. military has attacked ISIS targets in Syria using mobile rocket launchers it has based on Turkish territory for the first time.

The announcement was done on the embassy’s official Twitter account: “Last night: U.S. HIMARS in place and in action. The latest step in U.S.-Turkey cooperation in the fight against #ISIS.”

15 ISIS Bad Guys die in armed encounters with Kurds
ALEPPO – Clashes erupted on Monday between Kurdish forces of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) and militant fighters of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria’s northern Aleppo province. The clashes broke out after ISIS militants tried to infiltrate into the YPG headquarters near the Tishreen Dam in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo.

ISIS militants started the offensive by detonating a car bomb near a YPG security checkpoint in the area and firing several mortar shells on YPG positions there. Then a group of militants tried to break into a major YPG headquarters in the vicinity of Tishreen Dam.

“Our forces were able to repel the attempt after clashes that killed and injured dozens of ISIS militants,” YPG spokesman Habun Osman told ARA News.

At least 15 ISIS militants were killed in the clashes, while the YPG lost four of its fighters and several others were injured.

“Also, the YPG destroyed an ISIS armoured vehicle and seized a number of heavy machine guns,” the Kurdish official said.

The YPG leadership pointed out that 11 ISIS fighters were captured while trying to escape the clashes’ area near the Tishreen Dam on Monday midnight.

In December 2015, the Kurdish YPG fighters and allies of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) expelled ISIS militants from the Tishreen Dam on the Euphrates River, which has for long served as a supply line for the extremist group between its de facto capital of Raqqa and the northern countryside of Aleppo.

Syrian regulars capture height in Homs
HOMS – Subsequent to clashes with militant fighters of the Islamic State (ISIS), Syrian army forces on Monday regained control of a strategic hill in the central Homs province. Syrian regime’s army troops expelled ISIS militants from the Sawana hill in eastern Homs.

“Our forces killed at least 23 Daesh terrorists before the rest were forced to withdraw from Sawana on Monday evening,” Syrian army officer Fouad Hammoud told ARA News, using another acronym for ISIS.

Last Wednesday, the Islamic State group took control of the strategic Sawana hill –that overlooks the southwestern part of the ancient Palmyra city in Homs province– after bombing Syrian army positions with mortar fire.

“Today’s advance by our forces proved that the Syrian army is still in control of Homs province, and that Daesh movements are restricted,” the military official said.

The militant group captured last week some 11 Syrian army checkpoints in the vicinity of Palmyra city. However, ISIS fighters were forced to leave the checkpoints under airstrikes by Syrian and Russian warplanes, military sources reported.

Turkish troops close in on Aleppo
ALEPPO – After capturing the Syrian border city of Jarablus, Turkish army forces continued their advance and entered Aleppo province, military sources reported on Sunday.
Whatever one thinks of the Turks, they have a real armed forces, good quality soldiers, and decent equipment. They have a real officer corps and decent tactical training. They may be the poor relations of NATO, right next to Greece, but they're NATO and not (for example) Syrian or Libyan. If the Turks want Aleppo, they're going to take Aleppo, and they're not going to be very gentle about it.
“At least 20 Turkish tanks and five armoured vehicles, accompanied by a large number of Turkish troops, have arrived in the northern countryside of Aleppo province,” spokesman for the Shamiya Front rebel group Saleh al-Zein told ARA News.

Also, hundreds of rebels from the Turkey-backed Sultan Murad Brigade and other Turkmen rebel factions accompanied the Turkish army in the advance towards Aleppo.

“The Turkish forces and allies have taken over al-Rae town north of Aleppo, turning the town into a military zone after claiming to have expelled ISIS militants from the area,” rebel spokesman al-Zein told ARA News.

“However, there has been no fight between the Turkish forces and ISIS in al-Rae, which shows that ISIS has actually handed the town over to Turkey,” he added.

This comes just one day after the Turkish government sent military reinforcements to the Syrian northern city of Jarablus, that’s been taken by the Turkish forces and allied rebels of the Euphrates Shield Brigades on August 24 without resistance from ISIS.

Subsequent to the Turkish advance in Jarablus, clashes erupted between the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the pro-Turkey factions.

The SDF forces –that have recently liberated the city of Manbij from ISIS after nearly three months of clashes– said that ISIS has handed over Jarabulus to Turkey “within hours and without any resistance”.

Turkey has also vowed to continue fighting Kurdish rebels both on its soil and in Syria, considering them a threat to the territorial integrity of both countries.

“We will continue our operations (in Syria) until we fully guarantee security of life and property for our citizens and the security of our border… From the beginning we have been defending Turkey’s territorial integrity. We are also defending Syria’s territorial integrity. The aim of these terrorist organisations is… to form a state in these countries… They will never succeed,”

Dozens killed in explosions targeting government-held Syrian cities
[CNN] Deadly kabooms rocked Syria Monday, hours after the United States and Russia discussed an end to the violence during G20 talks.

At least 40 people were killed and dozens more maimed in a series of co-ordinated kabooms across the country, Syrian state media reported.

The blasts happened in government-held areas of Damascus, Homs and Tartous, as well as at a Kurdish checkpoint in Hassakah.

ISIS grabbed credit for that attacks, according to a statement by the ISIS-affiliated Amaq agency.

Of those killed, 30 died in two kabooms on a main highway bridge near Tartous, on the Mediterranean coast.

Another four people died when a boom-mobile went kaboom! at an army checkpoint in the government-held al-Zahraa neighborhood in Homs, according to Gov. Talal Barazi.

A jeep carrying six suspected bully boyz blew up after a soldier stopped the vehicle on a highway near Damascus. The soldier was killed. Police Gen. Jamal A-Bitar told Syrian TV he believes the car was on its way to carry out an attack in the capital.

And in the Kurdish-controlled northeastern city of Hassakah, a jacket wallah on a cycle of violence killed five Kurdish security forces at a checkpoint.

Turkish border with Syria cleared of ISIL militants
The Turkish border with Syria was cleared of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants on Sept. 4, after the Turkish-supported Free Syrian Army (FSA) took control of all regions from Azaz to the west to Jarablus to the east.

The news came 12 days after the Turkish army launched Operation Euphrates Shield, aimed at improving border security, supporting coalition forces and eliminating the threat posed by terrorist organizations, especially ISIL.

The FSA liberated new villages on Sept. 4, a day after the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) entered Syria’s al-Rai district from the Elbeyli district in the Turkish border province of Kilis. Syrian opposition forces removed ISIL militants from the villages of Tuwayran, Khaliliye, Bab Lemon, Hajj Wali and others in the al-Rai region.

With the new FSA-controlled belt extending three to five kilometers inside Syrian territory, ISIL’s physical contact with the Turkish border has been totally eliminated.

“From Azaz to Jarabulus, 91-km of our border has been completely secured. All terrorist organizations have been repulsed and they have gone,” Yıldırım said during a televised speech while visiting the southeastern province of Diyarbakır.

Ankara-backed FSA forces have started moving south to capture al-Bab from ISIL, Doğan News Agency reported Sept. 5.

On the other side of the operation, FSA fighters reached 24 kilometers south of the Turkish border inside Syria and arrived in a region west of the Euphrates River.

Meanwhile, the military has announced that FSA fighters seized control in seven more villages as a part of the operation on Sept. 5. It added that the Turkish artillery units fired 99 shots at nine targets in the 13th day of the operation.

A total of 1,698 shots were fired at 392 targets since the beginning of the operation on Aug. 24, according to military.

On Sept. 4, FSA took control of the villages of Ganime and Suwaya, west of Jarablus, as well as al-Qadi, the last ISIL-controlled village along the Turkish-Syrian border.

Less than two weeks after Operation Euphrates Shield was launched, the Turkish proxies have taken an area totaling nearly 600 square kilometers from ISIL and the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD), which Turkey regards as a terror organization.

ISIS destroys bridges in Anbar

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Head of the reconstruction committee in Anbar Provincial Council Arkan Khalaf al-Tarmouz announced that the cost of bridges destroyed by ISIS in the cities of Anbar in the last two years reached 200 billion US dollars.

Tarmouz said, “The number of vital bridges that were destroyed by ISIS in Anbar exceed 84 and their reconstruction cost was around 200 billion US dollars,” adding that, “Majority of these bridges linked the cities of Anbar across the Euphrates river and they were destroyed in the last two years.”

“The destroyed bridges will take almost three years for complete reconstruction if the Iraqi government doesn’t provide the needed financial aid,” Tarmouz added.

Group gathers documentation in ISIS atrocities

(IraqiNews.com) Erbil – KRG’s Ministry of Martyrs and Anfal Affairs have begun documenting crimes committed by ISIS against the Christians, Shabaks, Kakais and Turkmen.

The Head of the ministry’s directorate tasked with documenting and exhuming mass graves and dealing with the victims of war crimes, Baravan Hamdi, said, “The ministry has been collecting evidence for the Yezidis genocide over the last few months.”

“The directorate has now opened up the opportunity for the other victim minorities including Christians, Shabaks, Kakais, and Turkmen to file complaints and testify in a Kurdistan Region court on the atrocities they faced at the hand of the IS militants,” Hamdi added.

ISIS massacred and kidnapped thousands of people from different religious minorities and bulldozed their homes in a systematic attempt to eliminate the communities during their advance into the Iraqi and Kurdistan Region territories back in mid-2014.

ISIS executes one in Raqqa

[ARA News] ZAKHO – Extremists of the Islamic State (ISIS) on Monday beheaded a Syrian man in the northeastern Raqqa city on charges of ‘apostasy’, activists and eyewitnesses reported.

The ISIS-led Hisba police arrested a 51-year-old man in Raqqa. “Hours after his arrest, the Sharia Court issued a statement accusing the man of apostasy,” local media activists Ibrahim al-Raqawi told ARA News.

“The man was beheaded in front of hundreds of people in the al-Maari square on Monday afternoon,” al-Raqawi reported.

According to local sources, ISIS militants have been forcing the people to gather in public squares to witness the punishment of people accused of violating the rules of the group’s self-declared Caliphate.

“Over three years of ISIS control in Raqqa, we have seen dozens of execution cases. Even children are demanded to attend such brutal acts by ISIS,” an eyewitness told ARA News, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“Most of these civilians are being brutally punished on baseless charges. ISIS is just trying to keep people terrified in order to show that it’s still in power in Raqqa,” he said.
