Afghanistan
Women Suspected of Dealing Drugs Arrested in Kabul
[ToloNews] More than ten women suspected of being involved in drug dealing in several parts of Kabul, have been arrested, the Kabul Security Department said.

According to the Security Department, these women were arrested after the start of 1401 (solar year).

"They have been brought here on charges of drug dealing and are from various districts," said Mawlawi Sayed Fazullulah Abu-Obaida, head of the detention center of Kabul.

TOLOnews reached out to interview some of the these females in the detention center in Kabul.

"The police came to our home in the morning. They took a full bag of Tablets-K and other things," said detainee.

"They seized 15 dozen tablets and the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
came and took the tablets and took us to the police department and after an inquiry brought us here," said a detainee, who is 50 years old and also the mother of seven children.

Deputy minister of the Interior for Counter-Narcotics, Mullah Abdul Haq Hamkar, said that more than 3,000 people who were involved in drug dealing have been arrested and referred to the court. According to Hamkar, some of these women have been taken to Pul-e-Charkhi prison.

"There have been around 3,005 raids, and 3,641 suspects were arrested and handed over to the court," he said.

Several reports of the UN have so far expressed concerns over the cultivation of opium in Afghanistan.

But the deputy minister of Interior of Counter-Narcotics has repeatedly denied the UN’s reports, saying that production of drugs has been halted since the Islamic Emirate’s supreme leader, Mawllawi Hibatullah Akhundzada, issued a nationwide ban of cultivation.

Daily Evacuation Brief December 6, 2022
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • TALIBAN RELEASES DETAILS ABOUT MAN ARRESTED ON SUSPICION OF INVOLVEMENT IN THE PAKISTAN EMBASSY ATTACK – A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, made a statement regarding the recent assassination attempt on Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires in Kabul. He said the attack was a joint operation between ISIS-K and an unidentified insurgency group. He gave little information about the man under arrest other than to say he was a foreign national. AIDS INFECTION RATES ON THE RISE – The Ministry of Public Health announced that AIDS cases are starting to rise and that blood transfusions are the cause of the spike. They also claimed they do not have the capacity to diagnose and treat the disease.

  • LARGE FIRE DESTROYS VEHICLES AND PROPERTY ON AFGHAN/IRAN BORDER – A fire ignited on Sunday night in the Makki area which destroyed nearly 40 vehicles. Several people were injured as a result of the fire. It is believed that an engine in an idling container truck ignited and the fire spread to fuel cells. Eyewitnesses said that not enough fire suppression equipment was on hand to put the fire out and it spread to other commercial trucks as well as civilian passenger vehicles.

  • TORKHAM VEHICLE ACCIDENT UPDATE – Reports received yesterday indicated a vehicle accident at Torkham Gate had caused non-combatant casualties but an accurate count was unavailable. Confirmation arrived that 2 Afghans were killed and 7 had been injured when a container truck flipped over near a congregation of pedestrians. The accident occurred when the driver of the truck exited the vehicle to talk to border officials and the truck rolled to the Afghan side and into a fence. Several people were crushed by the trailer after it separated from the vehicle and turned over.

  • TALIBAN OFFICIALS IN BADAKHSHAN CLAIM TO HAVE FOILED A BOMB PLOT – Taliban officials released photos of a man crouching next to an explosive device and said they had interdicted a possible bomb attack. Officials say the man was arrested while attempting to emplace the mine in an undisclosed neighborhood. There was no mention of the intended target or the man’s affiliation.

NEXT 24 HOURS
  • A MEETING WILL BEGIN BETWEEN THE CENTRAL BANK AND A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE SWISS-BASED TRUST FUND IN KABUL – Shah Mohammad Mehrabi is on the board of the Swiss-based trust established to administer the Afghan reserves placed on deposit by the United States and will be meeting with the Supreme Council of the Da Afghanistan Bank in Kabul to discuss workarounds for some of the banking issues Afghanistan faces. The Taliban see Mehrabi’s visit as a portend of recognition but few analysts seem to agree the meeting is anything more than a finance discussion. Security is expected to be tight for the duration of the meetings.

  • REGIONAL MEETING OF CENTRAL ASIAN SECURITY CHIEFS IN NEW DELHI – The regional follow-up to a Spring security meeting sponsored by India will begin in New Delhi. Security officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will meet with their Indian colleagues to discuss regional security threats. The Afghanistan terror threat is expected to be the main subject of discussion and India plans to release intelligence that confirms the locations of several terrorist training camps in the country. Neither Pakistan nor Afghanistan was invited to attend the summit.

Afghanistan Government Arrests ‘Foreign’ ISIS Member For Attack On Pakistani Embassy In Kabul
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Afghanistan Government has arrested a foreign member of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) for an attack last week on Pakistain's embassy in the Afghan capital, Kabul.

This was stated by the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
's chief front man, Zabihullah Mujahid on Monday.

Mujahid refused to say the suspect's nationality or whether he was the same person who had been arrested hours earlier, according to other officials.

"This person is a citizen of a foreign country and a member of IS.

"The investigation revealed that this attack was jointly organised by IS and rebels. Some foreign malicious circles are behind the attack and the aim was to create distrust between the two brotherly countries," he said.

A security guard was maimed by shots fired at the embassy in Friday's attack.

Although no country officially recognises Afghanistan's Taliban government, Pakistain kept its embassy open even after the hardline Islamists took over in August of last year, and it maintains a full diplomatic mission.

Pakistain is home to more than a million Afghan refugees, and the mostly non-existent border they share is frequently the reason for festivities between the two nations.

Although the Taliban has prohibited public protests, Afghans have staged small demonstrations against Pakistain in response to such incidents.

Meanwhile,
...back at the abandoned silver mine, there was another explosion...
according to Pakistain's foreign ministry, the ambassador, Ubaid ur Rehman Nizamani, is now in Islamabad "for consultations," but there are no plans to close the embassy or withdraw staff, MSN reports.

Since their taking over of the country, the Talibans have been making every effort to portray Afghanistan as a safe place for diplomats, but two Russian embassy staff members were killed in a suicide kaboom outside the mission in September, in another IS-claimed attack.

Also, a gunman rubbed out a Pakistain security guard at the Chaman border crossing, leading to its closure for a week in November.

These frequent Death Eater attacks demonstrate that the Taliban government has failed to stop foreign Death Eater groups from operating in the country as promised.
Khaama Press adds:
The regional affiliate of Daesh claimed responsibility for the “attack on the apostate Pakistani ambassador and his guards” in a statement released by the jihadist SITE Monitoring Service.

Two Border Police officers hurt after bomb thrown at them in West Bank
[IsraelTimes] Law enforcement officials say some 40 Paleostinians rioted near Rachel’s Tomb on outskirts of Jerusalem

Two Border Police officers were lightly hurt on Monday afternoon after Paleostinians hurled an bomb at troops in the West Bank’s Aida Refugee Camp, near Rachel’s Tomb on the outskirts of Jerusalem.

One of the officers hit by the earth-shattering kaboom was taken to Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center for further treatment. The second officer was treated at the scene, police said.

A Border Police front man said the group of some 40 Paleostinians also hurled stones and launched marbles at troops.

"Border Police troops responded with riot dispersal means," the front man said.

It was unclear what instigated the riot, but the front man said officers arrived after it began.

There were no reports of Paleostinians maimed in the festivities.

Rachel’s Tomb is traditionally believed to be the burial place of the biblical matriarch Rachel. It is holy to Jews, Christians, Moslems, and members of other world religions.

The site is on the edge of the West Bank city of Bethlehem, but is surrounded by high walls and closely guarded by the military. A heavily fortified road used by pilgrims connects the enclave to Jerusalem’s southern neighborhoods.

Palestinian killed in clashes with IDF in West Bank; son of PIJ leader arrested
[IsraelTimes] PA health officials say six others hurt in Dheisheh refugee camp; in Jenin, military says troops arrest Yahya Saadi, son of Bassem Saadi, suspected of involvement in terror

A Paleostinian man was killed amid festivities with Israeli troops in the southern West Bank early Monday, Paleostinian health officials said, as the military said it arrested the son of a senior terror official in the city of Jenin.

According to the Paleostinian Authority Health Ministry, 22-year-old Omar Manna was rubbed out and six others were hurt by Israeli troops’ gunfire in the Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem.

The Israel Defense Forces said festivities had erupted during the arrest of three suspected members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Paleostine terror group in the camp.

"During the operation, suspects threw stones, Molotov cocktails, and explosives at the troops, who responded by shooting," the IDF said, adding that "hits were identified."

The IDF said troops also shot at button men who had opened fire on them during an operation in the adjacent Jenin refugee camp.

No soldiers were hurt during the overnight raids. In all, 14 wanted Paleostinians, including Saadi, were arrested early Monday across the West Bank, the military said.

More than a dozen Rohingya found dead in Myanmar’s Yangon region
[BenarNews] Authorities in Myanmar have launched an investigation after a group of women made a gruesome discovery while on their way to the market in the Yangon region early Monday morning — 13 broken and waterlogged corpses believed to be members of the Rohingya ethnic group.

The bodies were found near a trash pile in Hlegu township’s Ngwe Nant Thar village around 3 a.m., an eyewitness told RFA Burmese on condition of anonymity, citing security concerns.

"They are definitely not from this village," the witness said, adding that the victims appeared to range in age from 17 to 30 years old.

"I think they are Rohingya people. I heard that more than 70 of them were arrested in Hlegu yesterday as well."

A second source, who also declined to be named, told RFA that the women who discovered the bodies immediately contacted local authorities, who launched an investigation into the identities of the victims and the cause of death.

"We think they are Rohingya people ... so we called a Moslem volunteer group and other volunteer groups from [nearby] Pale village," the source said.

"They went there to take the dead bodies to the hospital and have them examined to determine the cause of death and to open a case in the matter ... According to the groups, the dead bodies exhibited signs of injuries."

The source said at least one of the victims had a "gash on his forehead," while another had one on his leg, and that all of them "appeared to have been submerged in water for a long time," despite there being no bodies of water in the area.

"Their hands and feet were wrinkled from water," they said.

"Some had welts on their backs. Their skin was torn from injuries, as if they had been beaten. The hospital said that they had been dead for more than 48 hours — at least a day before they were found."

The source told RFA that residents of the area believe the victims may have been killed by local authorities or by brokers they had hired to help them flee squalid conditions in refugee camps in western Myanmar's Rakhine state and neighboring Bangladesh.

"I heard that the brokers who brought them beat them when they didn’t get the money they wanted," they said.

"Another possibility is that they were arrested and then killed ... [But] I think that it is more likely that brokers killed them."

#1  There is something not quite right about this report. First, there are few Muslim residents of Yangon (Rangoon). Second, there exists smatterings of old settled Muslim communities, but the have lived in peace with neighbors. Finally, there are no reports to be found that indicate a growing influx of Muslims in Yangon. That being said, there exists a general Burman antipathy to Islamic (Rakhine) settlers, especially in the border regions with Bandladesh. If the Islamists are attempting to move their people en masse, or even poco a poco, to the Burman heartland, one can only expect more reports of this nature.

Turkish convoy runs over woman, child in northern Syria: Monitor
[Rudaw] A Ottoman Turkish military vehicle ran over a woman and child on Monday, killing them on the spot, and sparking protests in northern Syria, according to a war monitor.

The reported incident took place in Atarib, Aleppo, as two Ottoman Turkish armored vehicles passed through the town, UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) claimed. Following the death of a woman and a child, angry onlookers gathered around the convoy to prevent them from leaving the town, the monitor added.

There was no official comment from Ottoman Turkish officials.

SOHR added that this was not an isolated incident as a child was reportedly killed on November 3 after being run over by a Ottoman Turkish military vehicle in the Kurdish city of Sari Kani (Ras al-Ayn).

Residents have complained about the manner in which Ottoman Turkish vehicles drive through towns and villages in northern Syria.
The Turks have centuries of practice riding roughshod over their Arab subjects in Syria. Why would they see a need to stop now?

ISIS Families Flee Hawl Camp In Syria's Hasakah
[NPASYRIA] A number of families residing in Hawl Camp, east of Hasakah Governorate in northeastern Syria, fled on Monday, taking advantage of thick fog.

Most of the camp residents are the women and kiddies of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. ’s (ISIS) murderous Moslems.

A military source told North Press, "Early in the morning, a number of Iraqi families took advantage of thick fog to flee the camp."

The source pointed out that the security forces found a number of tents empty in the morning.

The Hawl Camp, some 45 km distance to the east of Hasakah city, is home to 56.561 people with Iraqi refugees making the vast majority of the camp residents. It also houses thousands of Syrian IDPs, mostly from areas in west of the Euphrates which are now under the control of the Syrian government forces and pro-Iran

militias. In addition, the camp includes ISIS families of foreign nationalities.

However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
the source did not mention the number of the runaways.

"The runaways fled the camp, taking advantage of the [bad] security conditions that resulted from Ottoman Turkish attacks on the area."

On November 20 and the week that followed, Ottoman Turkish forces launched heavy ground and air bombardment against many areas in northern Syria, severely damaging infrastructures, and causing civilian and military casualties.

Another source told North Press that the camp is witnessing a security alert after the Iraqi families’ breakout.
