Having worked with older people I learned of the following; 1936 they had to bomb the bay in Baltimore to allow shipping to pass, Trees topped 15 feet up to gather firewood, hottest summer on record and Johnstown flood happened. Stories all told by people there at the time.
[FoxNews] The migrants were nationals from Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador.
Texas Border Patrol agents arrested 24 migrants who they believe used a train to travel deeper into the United States after illegally crossing the border.
Agents at the Corpus ChristiBorder Patrol station received a 911 call Friday afternoon regarding 10 suspected migrants walking near the train tracks near the town of Robstown.
Border Patrol agents, working with the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) and Robstown Police Department, arrested those 10 migrants and an additional 12 that were discovered, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Authorities discovered a bag containing bolt cutters among the group’s possession which was suspected of being used to gain access to train cars, CBP said.
While waiting for the migrants to be transported, authorities noticed a suspicious blue GMC Yukon pass by them. Sheriff’s deputies initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle and discovered that the two occupants were also illegal immigrants and were suspected of attempting to pick up the group of people who had just been arrested, CBP said.
Border Patrol agents took all subjects into custody. CBP said the group of migrants were citizens of Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador.

We keep hearing the words "the Biden administration". Would be nice to get the actual names of who makes up "the Biden administration". I have started that list and will release it "for public consumption" soon.
[IsraelTimes] Another 25 unidentified bodies have been found in mass graves in the Libyan town of Tarhuna, Libyan authorities say, following years of brutal militia rule.
The farming town was controlled for years by the Kaniyat militia, run by six brothers who imposed their dominance by slaughtering opponents and their entire families.
Around 200 bodies have been found so far, according to the department which uncovered the remains, which said another "five graves were discovered" containing another 25 corpses.
The latest grim findings come after another 10 bodies were uncovered on October 4.
[AlAhram] Dozens of strikes were carried out in the Abdiya district of Marib province. Marib city is the internationally recognised government's last outpost in northern Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... More than 130 Yemen rebels have been killed in air strikes south of Marib, a flashpoint of the civil war, the Saudi-led coalition said on Tuesday.
Dozens of strikes were carried out in the Abdiya district of Marib province. Marib city is the internationally recognised government's last outpost in northern Yemen.
"We targeted nine military vehicles of the Huthi militia in Abdiya, and their losses exceeded 134 members," said a coalition statement carried by official Saudi media.
Hundreds of Iran-backed Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... s and military have died since fighting for the strategically vital city flared anew last month.
The Huthis warned they were "on the edges of the city", in a video statement released on Tuesday.
Rebel forces "today are on the edges of the city of Marib from several sides after defeating traitors and mercenaries... from several districts in Marib and liberating them completely," front man Yahya Saree said.
The latest toll comes just a day after the coalition announced the deaths of 156 rebels in similar strikes in Abdiya. The rebels rarely announce casualties in their own ranks.
The Huthis renewed their campaign to capture Marib last month. The resulting festivities and air strikes have left hundreds of rebels and loyalists dead.
On Sunday, six people died in a car-bombing that targeted a convoy carrying the governor of Aden, the government's provisional seat of power. He survived the attack.
Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalek Saeed called the Aden blast an "escalation" by the rebels.
"This is an escalation of violence by Huthi militias... a radical government in Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... is pushing the Huthis towards more violence," Maeen Abdulmalek Saeed told news hounds in Cairo.

[NPASYRIA] A Western diplomat said the leader of Iran’s Quds Force, Esmail Ghaani, was in Baghdad while the initial results of the Iraqi elections were released, amid both Iraqi and Iranian denials, Rooters reported.
"Ghaani is still seeking a way to keep Tehran’s allies in power," the Western diplomat told Rooters.
"They will do whatever they can to try to organize the biggest bloc — although that will also be very difficult with Sadr’s power."
Tehran and Baghdad both publicly denied Ghaani was in Iraq, but two Iranian sources contacted by Rooters confirmed it.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Iranian ambassador to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi, denied Ghaani’s presence in Baghdad.

[NPASYRIA] Yesterday on Monday, an unidentified warplane targeted two sites of Iranian-backed factions near al-Bukamal city on the Syrian-Iraqi border, eastern Syria.
"An unidentified warplane bombed two military points of Liwa al-Quds with several missiles near the border," a military source of the Hashemiyoun faction which is affiliated with Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said.
The targeting led to the killing of a leader of the Iranian-backed Liwa al-Quds when he was passing the border towards Iraq.
It also affected a vehicle which was loaded with ammunition near a military point of the Harakat Hezbollahal-Nujaba on the Iraqi side, the source added.
The killed leader is of Iraqi origin and he was armament official in the Liwa al-Quds, according to the source.
The air strike coincided with targeting a car near al-Sukhna town, east of Homs, central Syria, which led to the killing of three Iraqi leaders of the Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba, according to a military source of the Syrian government forces.
The source told North Press that the car was heading to al-Sukhna area before it was targeted.
On October 8, unidentified drone targeted an armory of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the city of al-Bukamal, east of Deir ez-Zor.
Syrian government forces and Iranian-backed factions with Russian support have been running the city of al-Bukamal and al-Mayadin in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor since November 2017 following battles against the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS).
Iran, through its involvement in the battles, managed to expand its power in the eastern frontlines in Syria especially in al-Bukamal city near the Syrian-Iraqi borders.
[NPASYRIA] On Tuesday evening, the city of Afrin, north of Aleppo, northwestern Syria, witnessed a military alert state by two opposition factions, following the killing of a displaced person from Rif Dimashq.
A member of the Ottoman Turkish-backed Levant Front faction fired at a displaced person from Eastern Ghouta, and fled, an eyewitness told North Press.
The Ottoman Turkish-backed Jaish al-Islam ...Liwa al-Islam (Brigade of Islam) was established by Zahran Alloush, the son of Saudi-based religious scholar Abdullah Mohammed Alloush, after Syrian authorities released him from prison in mid-2011 where he had been serving time for his Salafist activism. The group claimed responsibility for carrying out the July 2012 Damascus bombing that killed Defense Minister Dawoud Rajiha, Deputy Defense Minister Asef Shawkat, and Assistant Vice President Hassan Turkmani. It was a driving force behind actions in the Damascus region. It cooperated and conducted joint operations with al-Nusra. In Sptember 2013 Saudi Arabia engineered Liwa al-Islam's merger with fifty other more or less Salafist groups as a counterweight to al-Nusra, which the Learned Elders of Islam considered was growing too powereful... faction set up security checkpoints throughout the city, amidst mobilization of Levant Front and the tension between the two factions, the eyewitness added.
Groups of Jaish al-Islam and the Military Police in the city of Afrin began searching the fleeing member, amid the alert state by the two factions.
The city of Afrin and its villages, north of Aleppo, have been controlled by Ottoman Turkish forces and the affiliated factions since March 2018.
The Afrin region has been witnessing cases of killing, kidnapping and arrest, in addition to frequent bombings, amid the inability of the factions controlling it to settle the security in the region.

Seventy Thousand Assyrians – William Saroyan
"I’m kicking off my Short Story Mondays with a review of William Saroyan’s Seventy Thousand Assyrians. William Saroyan (1908-1981) was born, and raised in California, to Armenian immigrants.
In the opening paragraph of the story, he writes :
“I hadn’t had a haircut in forty days and forty nights, and I was beginning to look like several violinists out of work. You know the look: genius gone to pot, and ready to join the Communist Party. We barbarians from Asia Minor are hairy people: when we need a haircut, we need a haircut…(I am writing a very serious story, perhaps one of the most serious I shall ever write. ..."
Assyrians have had a rough go for quite some time.
[IsraelTimes] Language employed by state news agency to describe countries involved is often used by Tehran in reference to arch-enemy Israel and US.
Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... has arrested 10 people in a southern province it says are linked to foreign intelligence services, the official IRNA news agency reported Tuesday.
The report said Iran’s intelligence agency arrested the 10 after "sophisticated and continuous" surveillance in Bushehr province. It didn’t name the countries the suspects were linked to.
The 10 worked for "regional" countries whose intelligence services acted as accomplices and proxies for the spy agencies of "hostile countries," the news agency reported, a reference to Iran’s arch-enemy Israel and the US. The report said the 10 people were Iranian expatriates in the regional countries.
Bushehr is home to Iran’s sole nuclear power plant that went online in 2011 with help from Russia. In July, Iran said authorities arrested members of a group linked to Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency amid ongoing protests over water shortages in the country’s southwest.
In 2019, Iran said it arrested 17 Iranians accused of spying on the country’s nuclear and military sites for the CIA and reported that some of them had been sentenced to death.
Iran occasionally announces the detention of people it says are spying for foreign countries, including the United States and Israel. Israel has yet to confirm such arrests.
In July 2020, Iran executed a former translator convicted of spying on its forces for the US and Israel, including helping to locate a top Iranian general who was killed later in a US dronezap.
In February 2020, Iran’s top court confirmed a death sentence ...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead... for an Iranian man convicted of spying for the CIA, with state media alleging that he had shared details of the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s nuclear program with the American spy agency.
Late last year, Iran released Australian-British academic Kylie Moore-Gilbert, who was serving a 10-year prison sentence for spying for Israel, in exchange for three Iranians.
