[RADIOSHABELLE] The regional forces in the Puntland

One Dead as Tunisia Security Forces Arrest Migrants
[AnNahar] A migrant died early Friday as Tunisian security forces clashed with a group of Tunisians and Africans embarking on a clandestine sea crossing to Italia, a security official said.

The police intervened to stop a boat that had been launched off the coast of the central city of Sfax at around 2:30 am (0130 GMT), said Tunisia's National Guard front man Houssemeddine Jebabli.

He said passengers on the vessel had thrown Molotov cocktails at security forces before setting fire to the boat and attempting to flee.

Four Tunisians were incarcerated
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
along with eight migrants colonists from the Ivory Coast and two from Congo, he said, adding that one of them was hospitalized for burns without specifying which one.

A 15th passenger was found dead, and operations were underway to find any other bodies from the boat.

A growing number of Tunisians are embarking on risky journeys across the Mediterranean Sea to seek work and a better life in Europe.

In the first half of 2018, nearly 2,660 people were arrested in Tunisia during attempts to make the crossing, Jebabli said, compared with just 564 over the same period the previous year.

Several deadly shipwrecks have taken place in recent months, including one on June 3 that killed 87 people.

Medical Staff Abandon Hospitals in Cameroon's Troubled Region
[All Africa] Medical staff are fleeing hospitals in Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there, and now just look...
's troubled English-speaking regions after attacks this month left several nurses dead and many others maimed. Medics say they are stuck between a military that accuses them of aiding armed separatists and rebel fighters who say hospitals betray them to the army.

Elvis Ndansi, of the Cameroon trade union of nurses, says the killings and abuse provoked outrage in the medical corps.

"The military comes, chase them out of the hospital, brutalize them, beat them. As medical personnel, we all stand to condemn these acts and say they are very wrong. Medical personnel are supposed to be protected in times of war. They are there to take care of all casualties, be they from the military, be they from the Ambazonians or secessionists. Their role is to save lives," Ndansi said.

Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai of the English-speaking southwest region denies the military is responsible for the attacks, saying the separatists seeking an English-speaking state in Cameroon are the ones to blame. He says he has instructed the military to protect hospitals from armed gangs.

Despite the danger of traveling in the region, hundreds of medics showed up Wednesday for a funeral to honor Nancy Azah and her husband Njong Padisco. The couple, both nurses, were rubbed out last week, reportedly by Cameroonian troops.

Nurse Arrey Rose says the association of nurses called on the medical community to show solidarity by attending the funeral service.

"We have mobilized to let the world know that doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians and pharmacists are tortured and killed just for saving lives," Rose said. "God spared mine when I was pulled out of hospital and beaten just because I was accused of hiding terrorists. Many are dead, many are maimed."

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
IDF kills two Palestinians on the Gaza border
[Ynet] Clashes at the Gazoo Strip when a ceasefire deal is on the horizon: IDF kills two Paleostinians in demonstrations on the Gazoo border fence, fire erupts in the Gazoo vicinity; Deputy Hamas leader: 'I support calm in the area so that our people can live in dignity and continue our fight.'

During a crucial moment in time, amid ongoing Egyptian efforts to broker a cease-fire deal, hundreds of Paleostinians demonstrated near the border fence on Friday afternoon. Following a few days of relative calm, the IDF killed two Paleostinians demonstrators on the border fence, and fires erupted in the Gazoo vicinity, one of them in the Beeri Forest.

Two Paleostinians demonstrators were killed and another 60 injured at a protest along the Gazoo border amid ongoing Egyptian efforts to broker a cease-fire, Gazoo's Health Ministry said Friday.

The protesters threw rocks and Molotov cocktails from behind clouds of black smoke of burning tires at Israeli troops, who responded with tear gas and sometimes live fire.

Israel's military said some Paleostinians also threw improvised explosives and Molotov cocktails at the fence and that several were spotted briefly crossing into Israeli territory. It said troops "fired live rounds selectively according to standard operating procedures."

An Israeli source confirmed Thursday that Egyptian Intelligence Chief Abbas Kamel visited Israel as the guest of the head of the National Security Council, Meir Ben Shabbat, and met with Netanyahu and Shin Bet chief Nadav Argaman.

Paleostinian sources told al-Hayat that Kamel discussed the final details of the arrangement with the Israeli side, including the completion of humanitarian projects in the Gazoo Strip and future negotiations with Hamas over the exchange of prisoners and captives.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch clutched at his other leg......
Hamas officials have been meeting with Egyptian officials in Cairo, hammering out details of a possible truce with Israel.

The head of Egyptian intelligence visited Israel after two delegations of senior Hamas and Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
figures attended the talks in Cairo in recent weeks. In addition, a Hamas delegation headed by Hamas deputy leader in the Strip, Khalil al-Hayya headed to Cairo Thursday.

Almost all Paleostinian factions sent representatives to Cairo, except for Fatah, whose members are still boycotting the talks.

The Lebanese-affiliated al-Mayadeen network reported Thursday that the truce agreement between Israel and Hamas would include a one-year ceasefire and the establishment of a sea route between Gazoo and Cyprus under Israeli security supervision.

In addition, Qatar

will pay the salaries of the officials in Gazoo with the assistance of Egypt and will also pay the Gazoo Strip's electricity bills in cooperation with Israel.
Al Jazeera adds the Hamas perspective:
Ashraf al-Qidra, the spokesperson for Gaza's ministry of health, said a second Palestinian had been shot dead by Israeli forces on Friday.

Sa'di Akram Muammar, 26, was killed east of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.

The number of wounded protesters has risen to 270.

One Palestinian has been killed by Israeli forces, according to health officials in Gaza.

Karim Abu Fatayer, 30, died after being shot in the head by an Israeli sniper.

Health officials said 154 other protesters were wounded, including four medics who suffocated from tear gas.

Abu Fatayer's death brings the number of Palestinian protesters killed since March 30 to 165.
And from the Jerusalem Post:
Two Paleostinians were killed and 270 others were maimed in festivities with the IDF along the Gazoo border Friday afternoon according to Paleostinian reports, in what seems to be a rise in tensions amid rumors of ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",.

According to the IDF Spokesperson's Office, thousands of Paleostinians gathered and rioted in the Gazoo Strip, mostly deep within its territory and not adjacent to the border fence.

A number of Molotov cocktails and IEDs were thrown toward the security fence, but there were no casualties or damage to Israeli forces.

Despite the attempts to broker a ceasefire, Hamas-affiliated sources stated Friday that its people would continue to engage in weekly "Great March of Return" protests along the border - demonstrations and oft-violent riots that have been happening every Friday since March 30.

Israeli forces shut down Al-Aqsa Mosque compound
[Al Jazeera] Israeli forces have shut down the al-Aqsa Mosque compound following an alleged stabbing attempt by a Paleostinian on a group of Israeli coppers in Jerusalem's Old City.

The attacker, a 30-year-old Paleostinian citizen of Israel from the town of Umm al-Faham,
... more generally spelt in our archives as Umm al-Fahm, home of the outlawed northern branch of the so-called Islamic Movement, the Israeli branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. Ynet has video of the “alleged” attack, including the sad little knife the attacker tried to use, and names the miscreant as Ahmad Muhammad Mahamid...
was rubbed out by the Israeli forces, police said in a statement on Friday. No other casualties were reported.

According to local Paleostinian media, worshipers were forcibly removed out of the compound by Israeli police and soldiers, who then proceeded to shut down the gates to the Old City.

In response, hundreds of Paleostinians performed the early evening prayers outside the gates.
No doubt some were Palestinians; others, however, were Arab citizens of Israel because their ancestors were not the kind of cowards who fled the five approaching Arab armies in 1948.
Ynet adds:
According to the police, the terrorist [Ahmad Muhammad Mahamid] had no previous security charges filed against him. His relatives were questioned by the police and Shin Bet on Friday evening.

Five Turkish-backed rebels defect to SDF in Manbij
[ALMASDARNEWS] At least five members of the Ottoman Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA) defected to the US-backed Manbij Military Council of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the latter reported via their official media wing.

The defectors said they left the FSA due to the ongoing looting and killing that is being done by the Turkish-backed rebels.
According to their report, the five FSA fighters reached the SDF’s lines this week after abandoning their posts in northern Aleppo.

The Manbij Military Council said that at least ten fighters have defected to their side this month, including these five members of the Free Syrian Army that just recently joined forces with them.

The defectors said they left the FSA due to the ongoing looting and killing that is being done by the Ottoman Turkish-backed rebels.

They added that the Ottoman Turkish Army is in full control of all those groups, but they have not stopped the wide-scale looting and killing that is taking place in the area.

Syrian Army unleashes powerful attack across Idlib-Hama axis
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) increased their pressure on the jihadist rebels positioned along the Idlib-Hama axis this afternoon.

Backed by their allies from the National Defense Forces (NDF), the Syrian Arab Army began their assault by firing several missiles towards the Jaish al-Izza strongholds of Kafr Zita and al-Lataminah in northern Hama.

The Syrian Army and their allies would also target Jaish al-Izza’s fortifications and movements around the town of Markabah.

According to a Syrian Army source in the area, their forces managed to destroy at least two trenches and one base that belonged to Jaish al-Izza.

At the same time, the Syrian Arab Army intensified their strikes on the jihadist-held towns of Umm Khakhaleel, Khuwayn, Tal Mari, and Tal Sheih.

The attack specifically targeted Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
’s forces that were working to raise new trenches and plant mines along the Hama-Idlib axis.

The Syrian Arab Army has been striking the Hama-Idib axis for the last five days, destroying several sites belonging to the jihadist rebels in the process.

Ahrar Al-Sham elects new leader in Syria
[ALMASDARNEWS] Harakat Ahrar al-Sham
...a Syria jihadi group made up of Islamists and salafists, not that there's that much difference, formed into a brigade. They make up the main element of the Islamic Front but they don't profess adoration of al-Qaeda and they've been fighting (mainly for survival) against the Islamic State. Their leadership was wiped out at a single blow by a suicide kaboom at a crowded basement meeting in September, 2014...
elected a new leader this week after holding their annual leadership conference.

Harakat Ahrar al-Sham is now part of the Syrian National Liberation Front, which is under the command of the Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces.
According to the Islamist group, Jaber ’Ali Basha has been elected as the leader of Harakat Ahrar al-Sham, replacing Hassan Soufan after his short tenure in power.

Basha, 34, was born in the Idlib Governorate town of Binnish in 1984; he has been a member of the Islamist group since their inception.

Many opposition activists, commanders, and fighters have criticized this move via social media because Basha has virtually no experience in any leadership role.

Other opposition activists claimed that Basha was elected because The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
was pressuring Harakat Ahrar al-Sham to replace their former leader.

Harakat Ahrar al-Sham is now part of the Syrian National Liberation Front, which is under the command of the Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces.

One of the men was identified by opposition activists as Fadl al-’Ali of Idlib.

These latest executions come just a week after Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham launched a wide-scale security operation to crackdown on people seeking reconciliation with the Syrian government.
