Southern Mothic, or, An Unfortunate Series of Misunderstandings at the Texas Street Ferry
A racist young lady of Caddo
Once drowned, still harassed by her shadow,
In Shreveport's Red River.
It couldn't forgive her
For having been made a castratto.
Which was mighty transphobic of it, I must say! Whichever "it" that was.

[Breitbart] Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended a group of 51 migrants after they illegally crossed from Mexico into Arizona. The group included an 11-month-old child and 49 other minors.
Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Agent John R. Modlin tweeted a photo showing a group of 51 migrants apprehended by Tucson Station Border Patrol agents. The agents reported the group consisted mostly of Guatemalan migrants.
Modlin stated that of the 51 migrants, only one was an adult. The 50 minors also included an 11-month-old infant.
The human smuggling incident tied up multiple agents who had to take care of processing, feeding, providing medical screening, and transportation for the unaccompanied minors.
Elsewhere in the sector, Nogales Station agents received a tip from a concerned citizen regarding a possible human smuggling incident, Modlin tweeted.
Agents from the Nogales Station made contact with the vehicle near Green Valley, Arizona, and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle failed to yield and led agents on a pursuit.
The driver eventually lost control and crashed into the brush.
Agents found six adults and three juvenile migrants inside the smuggler’s SUV.

[NYPost] ... Salman Rushdie, whose work has earned him death threats, was attacked at a literary event in upstate New York Friday, when an assailant stormed the stage soon after his introduction.
The man proceeded to punch or stab Rushdie, who was scheduled to talk at the Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua, N.Y., some 75 miles south of Buffalo.
Police identified the attacker as Hadi Matar, 24, of Fairview, New Jersey. He was arrested at the scene and was awaiting arraignment. State police Major Eugene J. Staniszewski said the motive for the stabbing was unclear.
State police said Rushdie was apparently stabbed in the neck. Gov. Kathy Hochul said later that he was alive and “getting the care he needs.”

^ Guess the perp didn't get that here, had he succeeded, it would have made him a contract killer, not a bounty collector.

Fatwas never really pay. They screw the guy and his family out of the reward every time. Like, every. Time. Usually it's by stating we had redacted our fatwa long ago in a ...uhh... closed door meeting with Allan. Sometimes the lawyers hired to defend the summbitch keeps demanding fees for this and that, and they tell his family the legal process is just taking a lot more moolah than even the reward!
In the end, they never get anything. They're just told they did a great thing for Allan and should be happy for that.
[IsraelTimes] No injuries to Israeli security forces who find 2 M-16 rifles, a makeshift submachine gun, and two pistols; suspects taken for questioning
Eight terror suspects were arrested overnight in raids across the West Bank, the IDF said in a statement Thursday.
There were no injuries to Israeli forces, and all of the suspects were taken for questioning.
In the village of al-Azariya and the al-Ayda refugee camp in the central West Bank three suspects were arrested. Security forces also seized a makeshift "Carlo" submachine gun, ammunition, and police uniforms, the statement said.
In Yata, in the southern West Bank, another suspect was arrested and two M-16 rifles and two pistols found.
[NPASYRIA] On Thursday, local factions supported by the Men of Dignity Movement raided the headquarters of an gang affiliated with the government’s Military Intelligence in the town of Qanawat of Suwayda Governorate in southern Syria.
The Men of Dignity is a self-defense militia established after the outbreak of the Syrian war to defend the Suwayda area. Described as a terror organization by Russia, it took an initial position against the Syrian government in the early days of the war but did not engage in any armed conflict with government forces.
The local factions imposed a security cordon on the outskirts of Qanawat to pursue what is known as al-Fahd Forces, one of the most prominent gangs affiliated with Raji Falhout, a local source told North Press.
Raji Falhout is the leader of a militia which is backed and supported by the Military Intelligence Branch of the Syrian government forces.
The house of Salim Hamid, the leader of al-Fahd Forces and one of the most prominent leaders close to Falhout, was raided, amid reports that he had fled outside the town, the source added.
The Men of Dignity posted on its official Facebook account that it will continue supporting the Druze youth in the operations of besieging the buildings in the town of Qanawat to search for gang remnants."
The source indicated that the brother of the leader of the gang, Bashar Hamid, was arrested. Also, Salim al-Qan’abani, member of the gang affiliated with the Military Intelligence Branch was arrested.
On July 23, Suwayda witnessed a state of unrest that lasted for more than a week, amid continuous protests against violations by gangs affiliated with the government’s Military Intelligence which developed into armed festivities that led to the expulsion of the groups from the governorate.
The town of Qanawat, north of the city of Suwayda, is witnessing a state of calm and anticipation amid popular satisfaction to get rid of the armed security-backed group in the town, according to the same source.

[NPASYRIA] A Ottoman Turkish-backed armed opposition faction expressed on Thursday its refusal of any convergence with the Syrian government.
Mustafa Bakour, the spokesperson of Jaish al-Izza (Army of Glory) told North Press that al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room refused any convergence with "al-Assad regime", referring to the Ottoman Turkish guarantor.
Bakour’s speech came at a time while Russia is seeking to bring closer relations between Ankara and Damascus. This step was interspersed with earlier statements by Ottoman Turkish officials, about The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund... providing all kinds of political support to the Syrian government regarding facing the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
On July 27, Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that his country would provide all kinds of political aid to the Syrian government in terms of driving out "terrorists".
"We will provide all kinds of political support for the [Syrian] regime’s work in this regard. It is the natural right of the [Syrian] regime to remove the terrorist organization from its territory," said Cavusoglu in a televised interview with Ottoman Turkish Channel TV100. These statements angered many leaders of the Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA).
"Within the framework of the al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, which includes Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else ...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State... (HTS), Jaish al-Izza and other opposition factions operating in Idlib, they are following the news reports on a possible convergence between Turkey and al-Assad Regime," Bakour added.
He pointed out that "The media exaggeration that is taking place aims to affect the morale of the popular incubator of the Syrian revolution and the military factions, ruling out that the idea of convergence between the two states is serious."
Bakour indicated that "A unified position of the factions could contribute to influencing the Ottoman Turkish position, especially since the factions refuse any convergence with the Assad regime from any side."

[Rudaw] The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) claimed on Thursday that its forces killed 23 Ottoman Turkish soldiers in northeast Syria (Rojava) earlier this week, amid renewed calls from the Ottoman Turkish president to launch a fresh offensive on northern Syria.
"Our forces carried out on the eighth of August three qualitative and effective operations targeting the movements of the Ottoman Turkish occupation army on the borders adjacent to the city of Mardin," the SDF statement reads, adding that the operations were in retaliation to Ottoman Turkish attacks on its fighters.
The SDF operations were conducted through three separate attacks, which targeted Ottoman Turkish troops as well as their vehicles.
The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... has not commented explicitly on the operation, but on Thursday said it had killed six SDF fighters who fired at them along the Mardin border without specifying the date.
On Monday, Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important... renewed his calls for launching a fresh offensive in northern Syria, saying "we will continue our fight against terrorism," referring to Kurdish fighters of the People's Protection Units (YPG) which Turkey seeks to expel from the areas of Manbij and Tal Rifaat and establish a 30 kilometer deep safe zone along its southern border.
The YPG, the backbone of the SDF, is considered by Turkey as the Syrian offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and both groups are firmly placed on the terror blacklist by Ankara.
The threat of a Ottoman Turkish invasion into northern Syria has recently gained momentum, with Ankara targeting key leaders of the SDF and launching an influx of drone attacks against the force.
