A beautiful little five-year-old boy was executed by a neighbor in Wilson, North Carolina. What makes this story particularly horrific is the man rushed up to the boy, held a gun to the child's head, and fired, while the father and siblings watched helplessly.
According to a report from WRAL-TV, the shooting took place on Sunday.
Cannon Hinnant was playing outside his father's house on the dusky summer evening when their neighbor ‐ 25-year-old Darius N. Sessoms ‐ charged Cannon, produced a handgun, and shot him in the head.
The child's seven-year-old and eight-year-old siblings witnessed the murder.
Can you imagine these little children witnessing this?
Doris Labrant, a neighbor, said she witnessed Sessoms running up to Cannon, putting the gun to his head, and firing the weapon before fleeing the scene into his own home. Update: Killer apprehended.
Sessoms has multiple felony drug charges from over the years, multiple felony probation violations, and charges for possessing stolen firearms and resisting a public official.

[KhaamaPress] An explosion in Kabul city left at least three people dead or maimed, hours after a similar blast left at least two people maimed.
Sources in Kabul Police Headquarters confirmed that the earth-shattering kaboom took place in the vicinity of Prozha-e Jadid, located in Khair Khana area of the city in 11th district.
The sources further added that the explosives planted in a vehicle went off at around 7 am local time, leaving one person dead and at least two others maimed.
Kabul has witnessed four IED blasts over the past four days in which three people were killed and 13 more were maimed, including military personnel, residents in the capital city said on Tuesday, accusing the security agencies of failing to thwart the attacks.
This comes as a similar explosion wounded at least two people in 9th district of the city on Monday morning.
Earlier, an explosion killed 2 people and wounded at least 5 others in Company Bazaar area of Kabul city at around 3:40 pm local time on Sunday.
No individual or group including Taliban has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.

[Dhaka Tribune] The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained three more suspects over the murder of Major (rtd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.The detainees, Nurul Amin, Nizam Uddin and Md Ayas, were held in Shamlapur, Cox’s Bazar, at around 4pm on Tuesday, RAB 15 Deputy Commander Major Mehedi Hasan told Dhaka Tribune.
Later RAB produced the trio before the Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court, seeking a 10-day remand for each.
The court set Wednesday for hearing on the matter.
The RAB official said: "The three have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the Major (rtd) Sinha murder case. They were produced before the court for remand. The court has fixed Wednesday for hearing on the matter."

According to sources, Nurul, Nizam and Ayas are witnesses named in the arms and narcotics cases filed by police against Sinha, Sifat and Shipra.
Earlier on Saturday, Nurul and Ayas told the media that they were completely unaware of the incident.
They said that they had neither witnessed the incident nor hear about it.
The two also claimed that police had taken their signatures on blank paper, without making the reason clear to them.
Nurul Amin of Marishbunia in Teknaf, the first witness, claimed he had only heard about the incident, but when he went to the area later, there was no evidence there.
Another witness, M Ayas of the same area, said he and Nurul Amin were called to the local police outpost after the incident and their signatures were taken on the day following the murder at Teknaf cop shoppe.
The witness claimed he was not willing to affix his signature on the paper, but the police forced him to do it.
Meanwhile, ...back at the bunker, his Excellency called the chief of staff and complained that the artillery was keeping him awake... Sifat and Shipra were granted bail in two cases filed by the police on Sunday and Monday respectively.
On July 31, Major (rtd) Sinha was killed in police firing at Baharchhara police check-post.
Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, elder sister of Sinha, filed a case at Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Wednesday.
Major (rtd) Sinha, along with Sifat and Shipra, had gone to Cox’s Bazar for the purpose of making a documentary film on travelling.

CTTC made the arrests on Tuesday.
Saiful Islam, deputy commissioner of the CCTC unit, confirmed news of the arrests and said the suspects are being brought to Dhaka.
On July 26, a crude bomb and explosive cocktails were recovered from bag on the cycle of violence of a policeman in the Paltan area of Dhaka.
The bomb disposal unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) was called in after a sergeant noticed the bag hanging on his cycle of violence in Gulistan, said OC Md Sentu Miah of Paltan cop shoppe.
"The sergeant had parked his bike near Bangabandhu Square around 9.30pm. He returned a few minutes later to find a bag hanging on the bike with a bomb-like material inside," the OC said.
A detonator was also found. Later, the explosives were destroyed by the bomb squad, he added.
Earlier on July 19, police headquarters issued a letter regarding a possible attack by snuffies ahead of Eid. Alerted all district SPs and units were alerted.
In the letter, three embassies, international airports, temples, pagodas, churches, coppers, police vehicles, and police infrastructure were mentioned as possible targets of the attack.

The rally was organized by Black Lives Matter Chicago and was held at a cop shoppe in the South Loop where organizers say individuals are currently being held in jug. At least one organizer called the looting tantamount to "reparations."
"I don’t care if someone decides to loot a Gucci or a Macy’s or a Nike store, because that makes sure that person eats," said Ariel Atkins, a BLM organizer, according to NBC Chicago. "That makes sure that person has clothes."
"That is reparations," Atkins continued. "Anything they wanted to take, they can take it because these businesses have insurance."
The unrest was prompted by a social media post urging people to converge on Chicago’s business district after police shot a man on the South Side around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

[Rudaw] One Katyusha rocket landed near the suspension bridge in Baghdad's Green Zone Tuesday night, according to security authorities.
Another rocket was intercepted before it was fired at the launch site, confirmed the Iraqi government, adding that the attacks did not cause any material damage.
"Information indicates that the rocket was launched from the al-Rashid Base, while the security forces found another rocket prepared for launch in the same place, and it was defused," the Iraqi Security Media Cell said in a statement dispersed via Whatsapp.
The al-Rashid military base area is 17 kilometres southeast of the Green Zone.

Tuesday’s attack is the latest of several rocket attacks targeting the Green Zone after Iraqi Counter Terrorism Service (ICTS) personnel raided the headquarters of the Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah militia in Baghdad province on June 26, detaining at least 14 fighters of the group who were accused of recent rocket attacks in the capital.
Multiple attacks on military bases hosting US troops have taken place since the raid, notably Taji base north of Baghdad, the latest of which was carried out on July 27.
[Rudaw] An Iraqi police officer from a federal police unit was killed and two civilians were maimed in western Kirkuk province on Monday, in what the Security Media Cell labeled a terror attack.
"Security forces repelled an attack by terrorist elements on the village of al-Majid in al-Riyadh district in Kirkuk province," the statement read. "The attack resulted in death of an officer in the Third Infantry Brigade of the Fifth Division of the Federal Police, and the wounding of two civilians."
The statement also revealed that the attack maimed a member of Hashd al-Ashairy, the Sunni unit of Iraq’s Shiite majority Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), known in Arabic as Hashd al-Shaabi.
The perpetrators have yet to be identified by Iraqi authorities, and no group has so far grabbed credit for the attack.

This is the third Iraqi military official to be killed in less than a month.

[EN.ALGHADEER.TV] Iran’s Intelligence Ministry dismantled five spying teams working for foreign intelligence services, deputy intelligence minister for counter-espionage said.
"With the help of God Almighty and round-the-clock efforts of the intelligence forces a number of spies linked to foreign intelligence services of arrogant powers were identified and arrested as the strikes on foreign intelligence services is continuing," the intelligence ministry’s counter-intelligence deputy announced.
He noted that the foreign intelligence officers were planning to conduct espionage activities on Iran’s nuclear, political, economic, military and infrastructural projects by using various complicated spying methods.
The official pointed out that the spying teams were operating under the auspicious of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Mossad, as well as those of some European countries related to the recent espionage dossiers, sabotage of infrastructure, projects and intensifying brutal sanctions as well as blocking Iran’s access to knowledge and modern technologies and creating problems in the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran’s relations with friendly countries, and said that their efforts were in vain due to vigilance of Iran’s intelligence forces.
He warned all the deceived people, traitors and blatant enemies of the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran, and emphasized that in line with national security the enemies will not be secure anywhere from the dominance of the intelligence forces and "we assure the dear Islamic nation we will rigidly confront the enemies’ plots".
The report quoted judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili identified the two men as Masoud Mosaheb, the co-chairman of the Iran-Austrian Friendship Society, and Shahram Shirkhani.
Mosaheb was accused of sharing information on “nuclear and missile projects” with Israel and the German intelligence service. Shirkhani allegedly spied for Britain, gathering “sensitive information” in Iran’s banking and defense sectors and tried to recruit government staff for his cause.
The judiciary spokesman, Esmaili, recently said that five employees of the foreign ministry, energy industries and companies had been detained. He did not elaborate at the time but Mosaheb and Shirkhani were not apparently arrested much earlier.
