Ceasefire facilitators urge halt to airstrikes, RSF withdrawal from urban areas
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Sudan’s ceasefire controllers have called for an immediate halt to Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s and the withdrawal of paramilitary forces from urban areas, citing violations of the short-term humanitarian ceasefire by both warring parties.

In a joint statement issued on Sunday, Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and the United States assessed the implementation of the ceasefire by the Sudan Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, while urging for its renewal.

"There were violations by both parties that significantly impeded the delivery of humanitarian assistance and restoration of essential services," the statement emphasized.

The controllers further emphasized that stopping Sudan Armed Forces airstrikes, withdrawing Rapid Support Forces from urban areas, and ceasing attacks against humanitarian actors are crucial steps to improve the delivery of much-needed assistance to the Sudanese people.

Based on their findings, the controllers urged both parties to agree on extending the current ceasefire, allowing humanitarian actors more time to carry out their vital work.

Since the ceasefire commenced on May 22, the Sudanese army has continued to launch attacks on Rapid Support Forces positions, including an airstrike that damaged Sudan’s currency printing press on May 27.

Tunisia: 1 Beninese stabbed to death in attack targeting Sub-Saharan migrants
[AFRICANEWS] A Beninese migrant aged 30 was stabbed to death and five other maimed in an attack by a group of Tunisians in the central eastern part of the country. The spokesperson for the Sfax court made the announcement Monday (May 29).

The attack against 19 migrants colonists gathered in a housing in El Haffare (Sfax area) was carried out by 7 Tunisians armed with knives and sabres between May 22nd and 23rd.

The Sfax tribunal spokesperson Faouzi Masmoudi said the 5 victims from Sub-Saharan Africa had been admitted o hospital and suffered only 'mild injuries'.

Three Tunisians aged 17, 23 and 26 were arrested and a judicial inquiry opened, Masmoudi added.

Non-governmental organizations have denounced a crime taking place in a context where "uninterrupted speeches inciting hatred and racism against migrants colonists from sub-Saharan Africa' [can be heard], the FTDES (Tunisian forum for economic and social rights) wrote in a statement.

According to preliminary results of the inquiry, videos show seven men attacking the migrants colonists. The inquiry should also investigate the motives of the assailants.

"Hate speech and intimidation against migrants colonists (from sub-Saharan Africa) disseminated on social networks contribute to mobilization against the most vulnerable groups and fuel violent mostly peaceful behaviour against them," 23 non-governmental organizations denounced.

Earlier this year the president linked African migrants colonists to "violence and crimes."

State recognised militia and Libyan Army clash in central Tripoli
[LIBYAHERALD] The state recognised militia, Rada / Deterrence, headed by Abdelrauf Kara (rebranded the Deterrence Agency for Combating Terrorism and Organized Crime) and the Libyan Army 444 Combat Brigade clashed in central Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
last night.

There are no officially confirmed deaths, but social media claims one family caught in the Ras Hassan/Jraba area festivities suffered an injury.

It is reported that the festivities were over an arrest by the 444 of a member/associate of the Rada. The Rada reacted violent mostly peacefully attempting to release the arrestee.

Calm was restored last night by the intervention of other officially recognised forces, including the Interior Ministry. Libya Herald conducted a quick drive through the clash area (Ras Hassan-Jraba Street) this morning. There was calm and life was back to (the Libyan) normal.

Speaking to local media on the scene last night, Acting Interior Minister Emad Trabelsi admitted that the festivities were between two state recognised forces. He said these things happen because of the spread of arms over the last ten years.

He said his ministry were following the incident between the forces since lunch time, referring to the forces as being part of the Chiefs of Staffs. He said non-violent mostly peaceful interventions were used to defuse the situation and that his ministry can use force to end the clash but does not want to use force as the clash is between two state recognised forces.

ANALYSIS
This umpteenth clash in central Tripoli between state recognised militias/forces does not bode well for elections, the Tripoli based Libyan prime minister, Aldabaiba, or for Libya in general.

The international community led by UNSMIL head Abdoulaye Bathily have been busy doing the rounds hyping up the possibility of holding Libyan elections. Aldabaiba has been at pains to assure the outside world that Libya is safe and stable, and embassies and companies should return to Libya.

In Zawia and north-western Libya, Aldabaiba has been conducting dronezaps against so-called outlaws and attempting to impose centralised state order.

However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
the reality is that the attempts to fake state control over ’’state-recognised’’ militias/forces by simply rebranding them and sticking labels on their vehicles has proved a fallacy. These militias are controlled by individual warlords and answer to their warlords not their state or government. Their members are not professional police or army. They are ex-militias that have been granted an official number and uniform.

The festivities confirm that the Libyan state still does not have a monopoly on the use of legitimate force. The state is often reactive rather than proactive to these festivities — and innocent, unarmed civilians are the victims.

In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirate after seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues...

, on Sunday.

Tribal sources in the province said, "Militants of the Al Shama’a tribe in al-Mahfad district expelled the forces of the First Support Brigade, affiliated with the STC, from the tribe’s lands."

According to the sources, the STC forces were subjected to a surprise attack with various types of weapons, causing heavy losses without revealing the extent of those losses.

The sources explained that Al Shama’a Death Eaters forced the STC forces to withdraw and leave their lands, amid calm and expected caution in the area.

This comes after the UAE-affiliated factions imposed control last week on the citizens’ farms without responding to the people’s demands to leave their lands.

The UAE pushed STC’s factions to Abyan districts in August of last year, in the so-called "Siham al-Sharq" operation, to confront terrorist elements after it took control of Ataq city, the center of Shabwah province, following fierce confrontations with pro-Islah Party factions.

Israeli forces kill Palestinian in West Bank raid
[An Nahar] Israeli forces killed a Paleostinian man Monday in the occupied West Bank, the Paleostinian health ministry announced, as the Israeli military said forces were in a firefight during a raid.

Ashraf Mohammed Ibrahim, 37, was "shot by the Israeli occupation" in the northern city of Jenin, the ministry said.

Ibrahim was an officer in the Paleostinian intelligence service, according to the official Paleostinian news agency Wafa.

The Israeli military said "suspects fired heavily at the forces, who responded with fire toward the gunnies" during a raid in Jenin.

"In addition, suspects hurled bombs at the forces," added the army statement.

Six people were arrested in Jenin, according to Paleostinian prisoners' advocacy groups.

The Times of Israel reports the Israel perspective at 7:35 p.m. ET
Army says troops came under ‘massive gunfire’ in overnight op, vehicles damaged by bombs; fatality was member of Al-Aqsa brigade terror group; 6 detained elsewhere in West Bank

A Paleostinian man was killed and at least seven were maimed during a raid by the Israeli military on the northern West Bank city of Jenin early Monday, according to Paleostinian health officials.

The Paleostinian Authority Health Ministry said 37-year-old Ashraf Muhammad Amin Ibrahim was fatally shot in the abdomen and chest by Israeli troops during the raid. Earlier, the official Paleostinian news agency Wafa said eight people were maimed, including one seriously, during the raid on several neighborhoods in the city.

The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that no suspects were arrested in Jenin, but that several weapon parts and other military equipment were seized.

The IDF said that troops came under "massive gunfire" in the city, and armed Paleostinians hurled improvised bombs, causing damage to several military vehicles.

Troops returned fire at the Paleostinian button men, hitting several of them, the IDF said.

Paleostinian media later circulated a graphic and carried a statement by the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade claiming Ibrahim was a member of the terror group as well as an intelligence officer in the Paleostinian Authority security forces.

The military said it was aware of a Paleostinian being maimed by an IED that was hurled toward troops in the northern West Bank city.

A short clip circulated by Paleostinian media outlets showed an bomb detonating near an Israeli military vehicle in Jenin.

The IDF said that troops detained six wanted Paleostinians in other areas of the West Bank during overnight raids.

The raid came hours after a Paleostinian man was shot and moderately maimed after allegedly placing an IED on a highway in the central West Bank on Sunday night.

Earlier on Sunday, the local wing of the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...

Israel bombs 'Hezbollah sites' near Damascus, 5 hurt
[An Nahar] Israeli air strikes hit the Damascus region overnight Sunday, the Syrian defense ministry said, with a war monitor reporting five maimed in attacks on air defense sites that host Hezbollah fighters.

"At around 11:45 pm (2045 GMT), the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial attack," the defense ministry said.

It targeted "certain positions in the vicinity of Damascus," but anti-aircraft defenses came into action and brought down several missiles, according to the ministry.

It reported material damage but no casualties.

An AFP news hound in the Syrian capital heard explosions shortly before midnight local time (2100 GMT).

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said government air defense sites near Damascus where fighters from Leb

One site north of the capital was around 10 kilometers from the Lebanese border, it said, reporting five maimed.

Another site between the airport and the Sayyida Zeinab area southeast of the capital where Iran-backed forces are present was also targeted, added the Britannia-based war-monitor, which has a vast network of sources on the ground in Syria.
