300 Migrants Rescued from Tractor-Trailers in Southwest Texas in One Week
[Breitbart] Border Patrol agents in the Laredo Sector have rescued nearly 300 migrants in semi tractor-trailer compartments over the last seven days. The trailers, often unventilated, can serve as death traps in the scorching south Texas heat. As temperatures rise, the Border Patrol often struggles to interdict and rescue the migrants before it is too late.

On the I-35 corridor near Laredo, Texas, the Border Patrol employs K-9 teams, non-intrusive x-ray scanners, and old-fashioned interview techniques to thwart human smugglers. On Thursday, more than 100 migrants were found in one event at the I-35 checkpoint after a K-9 alerted to the vehicle. Outside temperatures peaked above 99 degrees. The migrants were locked in the unventilated trailer.

On Wednesday, agents discovered more than 40 migrants in another incident at the same checkpoint. What was particularly alarming about this human smuggling endeavor was the presence of a small child, accompanied by his mother. In three other events at the same location on Monday, agents removed more than 110 migrants from tractor-trailer compartments.

Although the Border Patrol has undertaken efforts to prevent this type of smuggling, it is still like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack. Customs and Border Protection estimates more than 2 million commercial vehicles enter the United States through Laredo every year. The area also draws domestic truckers from all over the country. It is not easy to build a profile.

A CBP spokesperson tells Breitbart Texas the agency also works with the Texas Department of Public Safety in a program known as “Texas Hold-Em.” This penalizes commercial drivers who are caught attempting to smuggle humans or other contraband by revoking their commercial vehicle license for life.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Azerbaijan Says Soldier Wounded in Armenian Shelling
[AnNahar] Azerbaijan said Friday that one of its soldiers was maimed after Armenian forces opened fire along the ex-Soviet rivals' shared border, the latest in a series of incidents.

The two Caucasus countries clashed for six weeks last year over control of Nagorno-Karabakh, a mountainous ethnic Armenian enclave in Azerbaijan controlled for decades by separatists.

The war ended with Armenia losing swathes of territory it had controlled in Azerbaijan, sparking a political crisis in the country over what many consider a humiliating defeat.

Azerbaijan's defense ministry said in a statement that its positions in the Nakhchivan exclave on the border with Armenia and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
"came under fire from Armenian armed forces" overnight.

It said a serviceman was maimed in the shoulder and taken to hospital for treatment.

Armenia's defense ministry said it "categorically denies" the accusations.

The incident came a day after six Armenian soldiers were captured by Azerbaijan in the Kelbajar district, which was among the territories recaptured by Baku last year.

Armenia said its forces were carrying out engineering work in the border region, while Azerbaijan's military said the soldiers were part of a "reconnaissance and sabotage group."

Earlier this week, Armenia said one of its soldiers was killed after shooting broke out with Azerbaijan's forces, an incident Baku denied responsibility for.

Tensions have been running high since earlier this month, when Armenia accused Azerbaijan's military of crossing its southern border to "lay siege" to a lake shared by the two countries.

The skirmishes come in the run-up to snap parliamentary polls in Armenia on June 20, which Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced under pressure from opposition protesters.

On Thursday, Pashinyan described the situation on the border as "tense and explosive" and suggested the deployment of international observers to the border.

Some 6,000 people were killed in last year's conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, which ended after Moscow brokered a ceasefire agreement and deployed peacekeepers.

Ethnic Armenian separatists in Karabakh broke away from Azerbaijan around the collapse of the Soviet Union in a conflict that claimed the lives of some 30,000 people and forced many more from their homes.

Europe
Germany charges 4 far-left activists in attacks on neo-Nazis, other extremists
Boldly continuing the fight that began in the streets of Germany in the 1930s.
[israelTimes] Four far-left activists have been charged in Germany on allegations that they were part of a group involved in a series of attacks on neo-Nazi
...adherents of a philosophy that was seen even at the time as pure evil, which makes them either consciously and purely evil, or attention-seeking ratbags. Pick one, or both....
s and other right-wing holy warriors over a period of two years, prosecutors said Friday.

Lina E., whose last name was not divulged in line with German privacy laws, is accused of coming up with the idea in 2018 to target far-right individuals based on a "militant extreme-left ideology" and helping to plan the attacks.

Three men, Lennart A., Jannis R. and Jonathan M., are alleged to have joined up with her no later than the end of 2019.

They were based in the eastern city of Leipzig, and most of the attacks came there or in nearby Wurzen, prosecutors said.

Several are alleged to have been involved in a 2020 attack with about 15 or 20 others on a group of six people in the Wurzen train station upon their arrival back from a ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of the Molotov cocktailing of Dresden — an event that attracted many neo-Nazis and other far-right sympathizers. Several victims sustained serious injuries after being punched, kicked and hit with batons, prosecutors said.

All except Lennart A. are accused of an attack in 2019 in the central city of Eisenach, where police say they and about 10 to 15 others stormed a restaurant thought to be a meeting place of the far-right, beating five visitors and the owner with batons and causing serious injuries.

All are charged with causing serious bodily harm and other offenses. Lina E., who faces the most charges, has been in jug since her Nov. 5, 2020 arrest. The others have remained free.

There were no immediate details on when they may stand trial.

German police shoot dead knife-wielding man in Hamburg
[DW] A man who threatened drivers in Hamburg after apparently yelling "Allahu Akbar" was shot and killed by the police, German authorities have said.
"Nicely done. Let's get Schnitzel"
German police were investigating an apparent attack after killing a knife-wielding man who damaged cars and threatened motorists in the country's second largest city, Hamburg, on Friday.

Several witnesses reported the attacker yelling "Allahu Akbar!" ("God is greatest!" in Arabic), according to the police.

Officers deployed to the scene, backed by a special unit that "happened to be nearby," police said in a statement.

The man then started approaching the police with a knife in his hand, said police spokeswoman Sandra Levgrun. The officers used pepper spray and fired a taser in an effort to subdue him, but the attacker did not appear to be affected.

Eventually, police used their firearms. The attacker died a short time later.

"It is still unclear exactly how many times and by whom shots were fired," Levgrun was quoted as saying by the DPA news agency.

ATTACKER'S IDENTITY STILL UNKNOWN
The man's identity was not immediately clear.

State Sherlocks were working to determine if the attack was motivated by religious extremism.

The incident in northern Germany comes just hours after reports of a similar attack in western La Belle France.

Authorities said a man was killed in a shootout with the French police in the western town of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre.

The man had attacked and seriously maimed a police officer with a knife. Neither Germany nor La Belle France speculated on a possible link between the attacks.

Andy Ngo reportedly tackled, punched by Portland rioters during latest night of unrest
[FoxNews] Conservative journalist Andy Ngo, who writes frequently about Antifa, was reportedly chased and attacked by black-clad rioters overnight during the latest unrest in Portland, Oregon, according to posts on social media.

One video posted online claimed to show Ngo being assisted by police inside the lobby of a downtown hotel after the writer apparently eluded a group.

Subsequent posts claimed Ngo was eventually able to leave the hotel, reportedly after receiving some medical attention.

As of 5 a.m. ET Saturday, Ngo himself had not posted on Twitter about the alleged incident.

Friday marked the one-year anniversary since nightly rioting began in Portland last year, three days after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, OregonLive.com reported. Protests and rioting continued in Portland for more than 100 consecutive nights afterward, and continue frequently until this day.

Police on Friday reported at least two arrests by 10 p.m. PT for unspecified offenses.

A group of about 100 rioters gathered at Revolution Hall, where protests began a year ago, according to the news site. Around 8 p.m. PT they began marching, then stopping periodically as speakers addressed the crowd.

Shortly before 10 p.m. PT, another group gathered outside the Multnomah County Justice Center, another frequent site of unrest and vandalism, according to the news site. Authorities made at least two arrests at that location, the outlet reported.

Around 11 p.m. PT, police began ordering the crowds to disperse, threatening to use crowd control methods if they did not comply, OregonLive.com reported.

Other sites of unrest between Friday night and early Saturday included the City Hall area, OregonLive.com reported.

A man said to be Ngo was targeted, tackled and repeatedly punched by a group of rioters shortly before midnight PT, according to the outlet.

Ngo, a native Portlander and second-generation Vietnamese-American, is the author of "Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy."

Cullors steps down as BLM executive director following real-estate spending spree
More about this story from yesterday.
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] Last summer was when America first learned about Black Lives Matter, as an official organization, being founded by believers of Marxism.

But BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors
...Sticky fingered co-founder of Black Lives Matter. An avowed communist, she collects real estate like people used to collect stamps, when not checking into luxury resorts for conferences...
more recently gained notoriety for her success in capitalism, as last month the public learned about her spending $3.2 million for four separate homes.

However today we’re learning Cullors is stepping down from her post. She’s the final founder of the Black Lives Matter organization to do so.

An official statement announcing Patrisse’s departure was published by the Black Lives Matter Twitter page.

In her place, according to the organization, two interim Senior Executives will take her place in the meantime. 1.) Makani Themba, Chief Strategist at Higher Ground Change Strategies, and former executive director of The Praxis Project. 2.) Monifa Bandele, Chief Operating Officer at Time’s Up Foundation.

As co-founder of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLMGNF), Cullors accomplishments included: launching a political action committee for BLM, a grassroots “sister organization” to BLMGNF, and donating $25 million to “Black-led organizations and Black families around the country.”

At the end of April it was reported that an LA jail reform group funded by Cullors spent $26,000 for “meetings” at a luxury Malibu resort. On top of that, earlier this month news broke about Cullors funneling $238,000 to a company run by her child’s “baby daddy.”
The money being a sticking point given the past headlines surrounding the BLM co-founder’s wealth. At the end of April it was reported that an LA jail reform group funded by Cullors
...that’d be the cleverly named Reform LA Jails, which joined Black Lives Matter PAC — the political wing of the thing, also funded by Ms Cullors — in hiring the baby daddy’s Trap Heals art company, whatever that is...
spent $26,000 for “meetings” at a luxury Malibu resort. On top of that, earlier this month news broke about Cullors funneling $238,000 to a company run by her child’s “baby daddy.”

According to the New York Post, Patrisse Cullors is denying her leaving is connected to the recent controversies.

“Those were right-wing attacks that tried to discredit my character, and I don’t operate off of what the right thinks about me,” she said.

It was last month when Cullors and the Black Lives Matter Twitter account accused her critics of entertaining “white supremacy” by talking about her amassed wealth.

Iraq
Calm Returns to Baghdad after PMF Commander's Arrest
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Calm returned to Baghdad after a long night of unrest as the Iraqi military leadership closed some of the capital’s entrances and positioned units in the streets near the fortified Green Zone.

On Wednesday, the army deployed units with armored vehicles and tanks, after the arrest of Qasem Muslah, Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) operations chief for Anbar province, which sparked widespread reactions.

Muslah was detained based on a judicial investigation and arrest warrant on terrorism charges, Iraq's military said in a statement.

Shortly after the arrest, a number of armed factions loyal to Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
roamed the streets of Baghdad in a failed show of force and to pressure the authorities to release Muslah.

Many protesters welcomed the arrest, given that Muslah was accused of being involved in the liquidation of activists in Karbala. He is also accused of missile attacks on Ain al-Asad military base in Anbar.

Muslah has been a controversial figure, especially in Karbala. He was an associate of religious authority, Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalai, and after 2003, he was in charge of the security of the city’s religious shrines.

He was then sacked over accusations of corruption and abuse. He joined the PMF after 2014 and assumed the leadership of the group’s operations in Anbar.

During the cabinet meeting on Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Mustafa Kadhimi described the show of force as a "serious violation of the constitution."

Former PM Haider al-Abadi warned against such practices, saying that either the state moves to impose order and illusory sovereignty, or it crumbles.

Abadi rejected in a tweet all forms of transgression, bullying, and rebellion, warning that sedition and chaos are disastrous. He stressed that "no one is above the law and accountability."

Leader of the Iraqis coalition Ammar al-Hakim stressed in reference to Muslah’s arrest that the judicial orders apply to everyone.

Hakim tweeted that "all Iraqis are equal in terms of legal accountability, and the decisions of state institutions must be respected."

Later Wednesday, the PMF leadership directed its units at the Green Zone to withdraw.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch clutched at his other shoulder......
UN Secretary-General Special Representative for Iraq Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert said that any arrest case should run its course, as goes for any Iraqi, adding that nobody should resort to a show of force to get their way.

"Such behavior weakens the Iraqi state and further erodes public trust. State institutions must be respected at all times. Nobody is above the law," she said on Twitter.

The UK Embassy in Baghdad announced its full support for the government's investigation into the actions of gangs.

"Iraqis have called for a state where those who break the law are held to account. No one should use force and threats to impede criminal investigations. Democracy rests on respect for the rule of law," announced the embassy in a tweet.

On Thursday, the US National Security Council expressed unwavering support for Kadhimi.

The council tweeted: "We strongly support PM Kadhimi & Govt of Iraq’s commitment to uphold rule of law & pave the way for free & fair elections. Anyone who targets Iraqi citizens must be investigated pursuant to Iraqi laws. We condemn those who seek to undermine Iraq’s stability with acts of violence."

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Palestinian shot dead during clashes with Israeli troops near Nablus
[IsraelTimes] Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", media reports that Zakaria Hamayel, 28, was a member of the terror group; IDF says it is looking into incident.

A Paleostinian man was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers during festivities near his hometown of Beita close to Nablus on Friday afternoon, the Paleostinian Authority Health Ministry said.

The Israel Defense Forces said hundreds of Paleostinians threw stones and lit swathes of ground ablaze. The army said it had used riot dispersal means and Roger bullets, a slightly less lethal form of live fire.

"At this stage, the cause of the Paleostinian’s wound is unknown. The incident is being investigated," the Israeli military said.

Paleostinian media identified the man as Zakaria Maher Hamayel, a 28-year-old resident of Beita. Official Hamas radio reported that Hamayel was an activist in the Islamist terror group.

"We’re Mohammad Deif’s men," mourners chanted at Hamayel’s funeral on Friday evening, referring to the shadowy commander of Hamas’s military wing.

The shooting came as Beita residents protested the establishment of an Israeli outpost near their town on Friday afternoon. The outpost, known as Evyatar, has been built and demolished a few times since it was first erected in 2013.

Dozens of residents marched towards the outpost before clashing with Israeli soldiers on the scene, Paleostinian media reported.

In footage from the scene, Paleostinians can be seen hurling stones at Israeli troops, who fired tear gas at protesters.

The PA health ministry said Hamayel had been shot in the chest with live bullets.

Another 22 were maimed in festivities near Salfit in the central West Bank, according to the Paleostinian Red Islamic Thingy medical service. The Red Islamic Thingy said two maimed with live bullets were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Tensions in the West Bank have risen in recent weeks following a recent round of fighting between Israel and Paleostinian terror groups in Gazoo

Israeli Troops Kill Palestinian During West Bank Clash, Palestinians Say
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Paleostinian during festivities in the occupied West Bank on Friday, the Paleostinian Health Ministry said.

A few hundred Paleostinians had gathered near Nablus in the northern West Bank to protest Israeli settlements.

Some in the crowd, with their faces covered by masks, threw rocks at soldiers and burned tires, witnesses said. Israeli soldiers opened fire, killing one man, the Paleostinian Health Ministry said.

A spokeswoman for the Israeli army said they were checking the report.

Tensions remain high in the region despite a ceasefire reached last week between Israel and the Paleostinian group Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. [NPASYRIA] Global Coalition Spokesman Colonel Wayne Marotto said on Friday that their partners in Syria and Iraq carried out 39 operations against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) during May.

Marotto shared a post on Twitter that "thus far in May our partners completed 39 operations against ISIS, preventing 11 ISIS leaders and 59 henchmen from committing acts of terrorism against the people of Iraq and Syria."

The Coalition’s partners in Iraq and Syria include the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Kurdistan Region’s Peshmerga, and the Iraqi counter-terrorism service (STC).

On May 24, SDF announced that they had arrested 24 alleged ISIS members during a security operation with the participation of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
