The bomb attack near the Qombar intersection in Kabul Police District 5 had targeted a nearby mosque (possibly Ayub Saber). Three people were reportedly wounded in the blast. Sources with the Ministry of the Interior stated the attack was believed to be a pre-planned ISIS-K attack that was originally targeting a Shiite mosque in a Hazara neighborhood of Herat but was redirected to Kabul when local planners determined the security forces in Herat were too formidable to overcome. We have no further information concerning this attack.
I found the post doing a quick search of “ Ayuob Saber Mosque”.

[Dawn] Scores of civilians have fled fighting in Afghanistan’s Panjshir Valley after an Death Eater group launched an offensive against Taliban ...Arabic for students... forces, residents said on Saturday.
The Panjshir Valley is famed for being a site of resistance by Afghans against Soviet forces in the 1980s and as a base for rebels opposed to Taliban rule during the Islamists’ first stint in power in the late 1990s.
The National Resistance® Front (NRF) were the last to hold out against the Taliban’s takeover of the country last year by retreating to the valley.
Headed by the son of late anti-Taliban commander Ahmad Shah Massoud, NRF forces last week announced an offensive against the Taliban — their first since the hardline Islamists seized power in August.
Both sides claim to have killed dozens of each other’s fighters in recent days.
"We could only pick up one or two items of clothing," Lutfullah Bari said, adding he fled with dozens of families.

[Garowe] The once ally cum bitter rival Ahlu Sunna Waljama [ASWJ] militia
...they’ve been described as a moderate Sufi militia that has been known to disagree with Al Shabaab, but I don’t know how true that is...
stormed Dhusamareb, the regional administrative capital of Galmadug on Friday, triggering heavy fighting which left several people according to reports from eyewitnesses in central Somalia.
At some point, photos of residents fleeing the city emerged, raising questions about the safety of ordinary people even as the country prepares for a titanic presidential election, which is set to be held on Sunday, May 15th in the capital Mogadishu.
The regional forces from Galmadug had to quickly seek the services of elite Gorgor troops from the Somali National Army [SNA] as the militia, who once fought along with government forces, temporarily seized the town, triggering anxiety and panic.
Regional leader Ahmed Karie alias Qoorqoor swiftly took off from Mogadishu where he has been campaigning for outgoing President Mohammed Abdullahi Farmajo as the militia stormed the town from different directions.
But after an intense shootout, the militia, one-time allies of government forces in the fight against al-Shabaab ...... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all of which have enough problems without them... , were successfully pushed out as normality was restored. The Sufi group has been battling for control since last year after they were ejected from Guri'el.
"Somali National Army’s special forces [Gorgor] and Galmudug ...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth... State regional forces have concluded a security operation in Dhusamareb town where disruptive militias attempted to attack, on Friday. The Army restored law and the order in the city," state media reported.
The group accuses the government of abandoning them besides pushing them out of Dhusamareb without fulfilling their initial agreement. The group has been critical in the fight against al-Shabaab and the fallout could trigger a resurgence of the al-Qaeda associate.
Security in Somalia has been a major concern owing to the fact that the country has struggled to bring order for decades. On Sunday, the country will elect a new president whose first major task would be a restoration of safety in the Horn of Africa nation.
[IRAQSUN] Hundreds of people in Nigeria's northwestern city of Sokoto demonstrated Saturday over the arrest of two students following the murder of a Christian student accused of blasphemy ...the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence to a deity, or sacred objects, or toward something considered sacred or inviolable. Some religions consider it to be a crime. In Pakistain you can commit blasphemy by looking cross-eyed at a Koran... , residents said.
Africa's most populous country is roughly divided between Moslems and Christians, but religious tensions and deadly festivities are not uncommon, particularly in the north.
Deborah Samuel, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education was stoned to death Thursday and her body was burnt by a mob of Moslem students at the college after she posted something on social media they deemed insulted the Prophet Muhammad.
Police said they made two arrests following the incident and that they had begun a search for other suspects who appeared in footage of the gruesome murder which circulated on social media.
In the early morning of Saturday, Moslem youths erupted into the streets of the city, lighting bonfires and demanding the release of the two detained suspects despite the earlier deployment of coppers to maintain order, residents said.
Some of the protesters besieged the palace of the Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto and the highest spiritual figure among Moslems in Nigeria who condemned the killing and demanded those involved face justice.
'It was more of a riot by a mob of young men and women who were demanding the release of the two people arrested over the killing of the Christian student,' Sokoto resident Ibrahim Arkilla told AFP.
'The crowd which made bonfires on the streets were also demanding the police stop the manhunt for those identified to have taken part in the killing,' said Arkilla who witnessed the protests.
Protesters besieged the palace of Abubakar chanting 'holy shit! Allahu akbar' or God is Great, said resident Bube Ando who lives near the palace.
'Some among the coppers deployed to protect the palace tried to ask the protesters to leave but they became unruly,' Ando said.
'Policemen and soldiers who stood outside the palace hurled tear gas canisters and had gun sex and succeeded in dispersing the crowd,' he said, without giving details about whether anyone was hurt.
The irate mob retreated downtown where they attempted to loot shops belonging to Christian residents but were dispersed by security patrol teams, said another resident Faruk Danhili.
Saturday afternoon, the Sokoto Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal urged the protesters to return home and announced a curfew.
'Following the sad incident that happened at the Shehu Shagari College of Education on Thursday and sequel to the developments within (Sokoto) metropolis this morning till afternoon... I hereby declare, with immediate effect, a curfew... for the next 24 hours,' he said in a statement.

Shabwah province in eastern Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... , has on Saturday witnessed a mutual military build-up between armed factions loyal to the UAE.
This coincided with the escalation of tensions between the Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia on the one hand and the faceless myrmidons of Tariq Saleh and Shabwah governor militias on the other, in light of the efforts of each faction to control the oil sources in the province.
According to media sources, the STC militia has sent new military reinforcements to the outskirts of Ataq city, the capital of Shabwah, coming from Abyan ...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirate after seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues... province.
For their part, the so-called al-Amaliqa Brigades and the faceless myrmidons of the so-called Shabwah Defence Force have reinforced their presence in the areas near the oil fields with dozens of military personnel.
Tribal sources said that hundreds of al-Amaliqa members affiliated with the so-called joint forces led by Tariq Saleh arrived during the past hours to Markha district and the outskirts of Usailan district, where the oil wells are located.
The STC had earlier warned the governor of Shabwah, Awad al-Awlaqi, against facilitating the control of Tariq Saleh’s forces over the oil sources in the province, threatening to prevent this by force.
[OneOndia] The NIA told the court that Shakeel was sending money and overseeing this module in Mumbai.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two accused in Maharashtra in connection with the D-Company ...the Dawood Ibrahim mob. Dawood's an international mobster allied with various terror groups including al-Qaeda. The Pak govt can't seem to catch him, despite having his address and phone number... case. The arrested persons are Arif Abubakar Sheikh and Shabbir Abubakar Sheikh.
These persons are associates of Dawood Ibrahim and were involved in arms smuggling, narco terrorism, money laundering, circulation of fake Indian currency notes.
They were also involved in illegal activities of the syndicate and were indulged in terror funding in the western suburbs of Mumbai. They are closely associates with Dawood's right hand man, Chhota Shakeel who is operating an international syndicate from Pakistain. Shakeel is also involved in extortions, narcotics smuggling and terrorist acts in India.
The NIA told the court that Shakeel was sending money and overseeing this module in Mumbai. The primary objective of this module was to target politicians across the country. They were also told to incite terrorism in the country, the NIA said.
Earlier this week the NIA conducted raids at 24 locations in the Mumbai Commissionerate and five places in Mira Road Bhayandar Commissionerate on Monday.
The case on hand pertained to the criminal activities of international terrorist network of the Dawood Ibrahim Company or D-Company. The NIA said that the case involves Dawood Ibrahim and his associates including Haji Anees, Shakeel Sheikh alias Chhota Shakeel, Javed China, Tiger Memon.

It’s been a busy two days in Kashmir. In chronological order:

After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... on Thursday, in a assassination that drew strong condemnation from political parties and employees' association.
Rahul Bhat (35), who was posted in the Tehsil office in Chadoora under a special employment package for Kashmiri Pandit migrants colonists, was rushed to the premier SMHS Hospital in Srinagar but departed this vale of tears soon after.
Kashmiri Pandit employee rubbed out by snuffies in Tehsil office in J-K
The two terrorists, belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit, entered the Tehsil office around 4.30 pm when it was full of employees and people, and shot at Bhat. Bhat was living in a migrant colony at Sheikhpura in Budgam district and had around eight years of service.
He is survived by wife, five-year-old daughter and parents. His father is a retired police officer. Bhat is the second Kashmiri Pandit to have been killed by snuffies in the last seven months. A prominent member of the Kashmiri Pandit community, chemist Makhan Lal Bindroo, was rubbed out by terrorist on October 6, 2021.
As many as 14 people belonging to Jammu and Kashmir's minority Hindu community, including Kashmiri Pandits, have been killed by turbans in various parts of Kashmir between August 2019 and March 2022. Those targeted included prominent businessmen, sarpanchs and block development council members.
There has been a spurt in attacks on non-Moslems and outsiders living in Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution, which accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir, in August 2019.
Reacting to Bhat's killing, Director General of Police Dilbag Singh told PTI, "This is a sad incident but let me assure that we have identified the killers. While one of them is involved in previous killings in Srinagar city as well, the second one is a new recruit." Though a little-known terror outfit, Kashmir Tigers, grabbed credit for Bhat's killing, the police chief said the Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group was behind it.
As the news of Bhat's killing spread, Kashmiri migrants colonists living in the Sheikhpora colony staged a protest. Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Kashmir Range Vijay Kumar went to the colony to pacify them. Kashmiri Pandit employees in Mattan and Vesu in south Kashmir also staged protests against the killing.
The protesting employees also blocked the national highway and raised slogans against the administration for failing to stop assassinations. The IGP said Lateef Ahmed, a "recycled" terrorist, and new recruit Aqib Sher Gojri were the prime suspects behind the killing. "Raids are being conducted and I am sure we will be able to get them soon," he told PTI. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and political parties in Kashmir condemned Bhat's killing.
The dear departed constable identified as Reyaz Ahmad Choker was rushed to the local hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
Meanwhile the Kashmiri Pandits launched overnight protests following the killing of Bhat and demanded their safety.
Members of the community left their transit camps and blocked roads while raising slogans against Centre and BJP saying that they have been failed. There are over 4,000 Kashmiri Pandits who are living in transit camps in various parts of Kashmir.
Reports suggested that the employees wrote to Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and said that they did not feel safe in Kashmir anymore. All these employees had been provided employment under the Prime Minister's package for the displaced.

3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots.... to South Kashmir. The case was transferred to the SIA from the Jammu and Kashmir police last year.
"State Investigation Agency, Jammu submitted a chargesheet in a terror-financing case in the court on Friday," an officer said.
According to the case details, a consignment of cash was being transported to south Kashmir from Punjab.
A special team was constituted which set up a checkpost at the Sidhra bridge in the Nagrota area on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on November 17 last year and intercepted a vehicle, the officer said.
The passengers of the vehicle were questioned about their movement but they could not give a satisfactory reply and on a thorough search of the car, two bags containing Rs 43 lakh in cash were recovered.
Further questioning of the accused revealed that the money was being transported from Punjab to south Kashmir for financing the terror activities of proscribed outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
The arrested accused were in constant touch with their handlers across the border and bully boyz based in south Kashmir.

[AlAhram] An Iranian politician says one person was killed in his city during recent unrest over price increases in the southwestern Khuzestan province, semi-official ILNA news agency reported Saturday.
Ahmad Avaei, a member of parliament from Dezful did not give the name or gender of the person killed, or say how many people were arrested during the unrest.
State media reported Friday that Iranian authorities had arrested at least 22 demonstrators who had been protesting sudden price hikes of subsidized staple foods, 15 of them in Dezful. A firefighter was injured in festivities with demonstrators in a nearby city, Andimeshk.
The unrests follow Iran's announcement earlier in the week that the cost of cooking oil, chicken, eggs and milk would rise by as much as 300%, as food prices surge across the Middle East due to global supply chain snarls and Russia's invasion of major food exporter Ukraine.
State TV on Friday showed footage of demonstrations in the province that had deteriorated into violence, with protesters burning tires and leaving mosques and public property damaged.
Memories of Iran's fuel price hike in November 2019 also remain fresh. Then, widespread protests _ the most violent mostly peaceful since the creation of the Islamic Theocratic Republic in 1979 _ rocked the country.

[IRAQSUN] Ankara is increasing pressure on Russia's military presence in Syria with its decision to close its airspace until July to Russian civilian and military planes carrying troops to Syria.Ankara gave no official reason for the move. While Ankara and Moscow back rival sides in the Syrian civil war, they have been cooperating in resolving the conflict.
Huseyin Bagci, head of the Ottoman Turkish Foreign Policy Institute in Ankara, said the action comes as The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... 's shared opposition with its western allies towards Russia's invasion of Ukraine is the basis for Ankara to repair its strained relations with Washington and its NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... partners.
'It's an important decision. Ottoman Turkish-American relations improved dramatically in this respect. Probably the Americans bilaterally and NATO as an institution insisted upon it. Trying to close the increasing influence of Russia in Syria and in the Middle East in general. It's, of course, not a decision the Russians would like to see,' Bagci said.
Ottoman Turkish airspace offers the easiest route for Russian planes supplying its military bases in Syria, although there are alternatives. But, said Zaur Gasimov, a Russian expert at Bonn University, the closure of Ottoman Turkish airspace will stoke fears in Moscow that Ankara is cooperating with Washington to cut off Russian supply routes to Syria.
'To maintain the airbase in Syria, of course, they fly over the Ottoman Turkish airspace ... . Still, Russia can use the airspace of Iraq and of Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... to reach their military bases in Syria,' Gasimov said. 'It's possible that Washington urges pressure on Baghdad to close its airspace.'
Russia's supplying of its military forces in Syria is already complicated by Ankara's decision to limit the use of Ottoman Turkish waters by Russian warships based in the Black Sea under the international Montreux Convention. The convention allows Turkey to impose restrictions if a war occurs among Black Sea countries.
