The security incidents happened in Baghlan, Ghazni, Kunduz, Balkh, Parwan, Ghor and Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..

#1  Our troops are supposed to be out by May via a Trump plan. Slow Joe extended that to Sept 11. Any dead US troops between May and September could easily have been prevented and those deaths at the hands of the Taliban will be enabled by Biden who according to NYT ignored the Generals on this.

The generals not only dragged their feet but actively lied to President Trump about the situation over there and what it would take to close down operations — and snickered about it, to their media friends, Clem dear.

#6  To their credit, the command there reduced the US footprint and improved security quite a bit from the peak of the early Obama years. From 2009-2012 we lost an average of about 350 soldiers a year there. During the Trump years, we lost about 20 per year.

The command thought the continued presence would help them improve the Afghan forces.

What remains to be seen is whether the Afghan Govt can survive on its own.

Al-Shabaab commanders arrested in Somalia as Farmajo meets security chiefs
[Garowe] A number of top al-Shabaab
...... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
commanders were on Sunday arrested in Central Somalia, officials said, in what could be a major milestone in the fight against the al-Qaeda linked group, which is wreaking havoc in Central and Southern Somalia.

Galmudug
...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth...
Security Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi and Mudug Governor Abdiladif Muse Nur, jointly said that the security forces of the two states have arrested senior al-Shabaab members, but they did not reveal their details.

In recent months, Mudug have been greatly affected in the al-Shabaab war, with the Lions of Islam targeting senior members of security forces, government officials, and to some extent, innocent civilians. A number of people have been killed.

According to the officials, those arrested were the head of security of al-Shabaab in the Mudug region, the head of finance of al-Shabaab in the Mudug region, and other officials in the movement. The team is now being processed for trial, the officials added.

On Sunday, Farmajo got a briefing from SNA and AMISOM chiefs on al-Shabaab attacks on army Forward Operating bases in Awdhegle and Barire, Lower Shaballe on April 3rd which killed dozens of soldiers. This comes as the outgoing leader faces pressure over his illegal term extension.

Among those present were Chief of Defense Forces General Yusuf Rageh Odowaa, who has been in the frontline in the fight against al-Shabaab. The president thanked the forces for their commitment to the fight against al-Shabaab just before he left for DR Congo.

"President Farmajo salutes our Somali Armed Forces for victorious operations recently terming it a proof of bravery to protect our nation and citizens as he hosts our Defense Minister, Somali National Army CoD General Odowa Yusuf and AMISOM Force Commander Lt-Gen Diomede Ndegeye," the Ministry of Defense said.

Elsewhere, Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
and Galmudug have signed an agreement to fight al-Shabaab, to free Bacadweyne in Hobyo district from al-Shabaab, to share intelligence and investigate al-Shabaab jointly. The two states agreed to set aside political differences which have triggered the current political stalemate.

While Puntland is pushing for structured dialogue in Somalia, Galmadug has on the other hand supported Farmajo's term extension. The international community has since asked all stakeholders to return to the negotiating table for the sake of stability.

[AlAhram] A day after the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) released a video showing three holy warriors shooting an elderly Christian in the head, the Egyptian interior ministry said on Monday its security forces killed three holy warriors involved in the incident in North Sinai.

An ISIS speaker in the video said the execution of Nabil El-Habashy, which took place in North Sinai’s Bir El-Abd, comes as a result of his cooperation with the Egyptian army.

The interior ministry in a statement said the three elements were planning to execute a number of hostile acts that target Christian citizens, their properties, and their places of worship.

They also planned to target army and police forces, the statement added.

The forces blockaded the holy warriors while driving a pick-up truck in al-Abtal area in North Sinai and came under heavy gunfire from the elements once they noticed the police presence.

Firing back, the security forces killed the three elements and detonated an boom belt one of them was wearing, according to the statement.

Three automatic rifles, an boom belt, a grenade, and bullets were found with the terrorists, the statement noted.

The statement said the security forces are pursuing other holy warriors involved in El-Habashy’s killing, including Gehad Ouda, Ahmed Shahata, and Khaled Hussein.

Two dead holy warriors were identified. One of them is Mohammed Salem Zeyada, aka Ammar, a highly dangerous terrorist, the statement said.

Ammar planned and executed many terrorist incidents in North Sinai and was in charge of securing logistic support for the elements, the statement explained.

The second element is Youssef Ibrahim Salim, aka Abu Mohammed, who executed many terrorist operations and assisted Ammar in securing logistic support.

BLM protesters rally for 'victim,' leave after learning he was white
[NYPOST] Black Lives Matter protesters in Minnesota dropped to a knee and set off to march over a fatal police shooting — only to return when they learned it was a white carjacker who had fired at police, according to reports.
"Naaaahhh man. We thought it was a black carjacker who had fired at police. We down wit that"
Dozens of people protesting outside Gov. Tim Walz’s mansion in St. Paul on Sunday were filmed by Fox 9 news hound Mitti Hicks as they knelt for a moment of silence over initial rumors about Sunday’s 3 p.m. fatal shooting.

"Protestors kneel after hearing there was an officer-involved shooting in Burnsville moments ago," Hicks tweeted of the wild, caught-on-camera armed carjacking in the suburbs.

"This information HAS NOT been confirmed but this group says they’re heading there," Hicks said.

The man who was killed is believed to be a white man in his 20s who had stolen a car from a woman at gunpoint — then repeatedly shot at cops as they chased him, Burnsville police said.

Turkish forces break up clashes between their armed groups in Syria's Sere Kaniye
[NPASYRIA] On Sunday-Monday night, festivities erupted between two pro-Ottoman Turkish gangs in the city of Sere Kaniye, resulting in the killing and wounding of both parties, which led the Ottoman Turkish forces to intervene.

A resident of the town, who preferred not to be named, told North Press that the sound of machine guns and RPG shells frightened civilians.

The festivities continued until early this morning, he added.

Accounts close to the gangs published that the festivities were between the Sultan Murad Division and Ahrar al-Sharqiya.

No faction intervened to break festivities, while Sultan Murad Division rushed to help its turbans after members of Ahrar al-Sharqiya targeted them, according to information received.

Another source from Sere Kaniye reported that the Ottoman Turkish forces intervened to break festivities after shells fell on the Ottoman Turkish borders.

Pro-Iranian group fortifies headquarters near Syrian-Iraqi border
[NPASYRIA] On Monday, Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps-backed group, Liwa Fatemiyoun,
...Iran’s Afghan Shiite irregulars...
closed the sub-roads leading to its headquarters in the city of al-Mayadin in Deir ez-Zor countryside, near the Syrian-Iraqi border.

Azzam al-Hamad, member of the group, said that the procedure came after the discovery of bombs prepared for detonation last night, near the group’s headquarters in al-Mayadin.
It probably wasn’t the Israelis this time — usually they fly far overhead, unnoticed until their bombs land on their targets. The only time the Israelis touch the ground like normal mortals is when they’re emptying Tehran warehouses of thirty years of documents or stopping the head of the nuclear bomb program in the middle of the road to assassinate him.
Al-Hamad added that the fortification process will include all the headquarters in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor to prevent cars from parking and passing by the headquarters and offices of the group.

The group placed concrete barriers and barrels around its headquarters to prevent the vehicles from approaching and parking near its headquarters.
That’ll do it, fer shure.
It is worth mentioning that al-Mayadin is under the control of Syrian government forces and pro-Iranian military groups.

The city of al-Mayadin hosts 7 headquarters of Liwa Fatemiyoun and two affiliation offices, all of which are located within the city’s residential neighborhoods.

Iran Expands Parchin Military Complex
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Satellite images show that four new buildings have gone up at Iran’s Parchin military complex, where explosives experiments related to nuclear weapons were conducted in the early 2000s.

The structures are surrounded by steep walls made of compacted earth to deflect explosions, intelligence consultancy group The Intel Lab said.

This comes after the completion of the nearby extension in November 2020, comprising a dozen new buildings surrounded by High and Thick concrete blast walls.

This extensive construction activity since 2018 is probably related to the Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...

it cannot be ruled out that part of it could contribute to other activities restricted or monitored by the nuclear deal, known formally as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

After signing the deal in July 2015, Iran allowed ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Yukiya Amano to visit Natanz nuclear facility.

Iranian experts also took samples from the facility and handed them to the IAEA.

Then, the Agency prepared a report aiming at providing a clear image on whether or not the nuclear deal has a military prospect.

Russian Air Force Kills up to 200 Militants in Syria
[SHAFAQ] The Russian air force has hit krazed killers' base northeast of Palmyra in Syria, killing up to 200 krazed killers, Interfax news agency reported on Monday, citing the Defence Ministry. It said the Russian planes also destroyed ammunition, cars and components for manufacturing explosive devises.
Al Masdar expands on Shafaq’s bald recital:
Militants created a camouflaged base northeast of Syria’s Palmyra, where groups were formed for terrorist attacks and bombs were made. Russian Aerospace Forces planes have hit these targets, Rear Adm. Alexander Karpov, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, said on Monday.

During a press briefing, he noted that Russian forces received information that "murderous Moslems set up a camouflaged base northeast of Palmyra, where combat groups were formed to send and carry out terrorist attacks in various regions of the country, as well as the manufacture of improvised bombs was set up."

Karpov added that after the location of these objects had been confirmed, air strikes had been inflicted on them by Russian Aerospace Forces.

"As a result ... two shelters, up to 200 holy warriors, 24 pickup trucks with heavy machine guns, as well as about 500 kilograms of ammunition and components for making improvised bombs were destroyed," Karpov said.

According to him, "illegal gangs have planned terrorist attacks and attacks on government agencies in large cities in order to destabilize the situation in the country ahead of the presidential election," scheduled for 26 May.

The turbans are trained in the training camps of the holy warriors, which are located "in the territories not controlled by the Syrian authorities, including in the At-Tanf zone, which is controlled by the US armed forces."
