US Dropped 7,423 Munitions in Afghanistan in 2019
[ToloNews] The US aircraft released 7,423 bombs and other munitions in the country in 2019, according to figures published Monday by US Air Forces Central Command, according to a Stars and Strips report.

Coalition aircraft flew nearly 8,800 sorties during the period, over a quarter of which carried out strikes.

The tally surpasses the previous record set last year when 7,362 munitions were released, and comes amid discussions between American and Taliban

Airstrikes, predominantly conducted by US forces, caused 579 of the 1,149 civilian war fatalities attributed to pro-government forces in Afghanistan during the first nine months of 2019, according to the most recent United Nations

Insurgent groups were responsible for 1,207 civilian deaths in that time, the UN data showed. Another 207 civilian deaths were unattributed to either side.

Speculation Continues About Ghazni Plane Crash
[ToloNews] An investigation is apparently underway by the US to determine what caused a US military aircraft to crash in Deh Yak district in the central province of Ghazni, south of Kabul, on Monday afternoon, with local reporting that the US military is monitoring the crash location from the air, deterring people on the ground from getting close to the site.

On Monday evening (Afghan time), US forces in Afghanistan confirmed that the plane belonged to the US, saying: "While the cause of crash is under investigation, there are no indications the crash was caused by enemy fire. We will provide additional information as it becomes available," US Forces-Afghanistan front man Col. Sonny Leggett said.

But the former head of the National Directorate of Security
...the Afghan national intel agency...
(NDS), Rahmatullah Nabil, said that "no can deny the possibility that the aircraft had been hit by a missile."

"Undoubtedly, in view of recent tensions between the US and Iran, Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
doesn’t have the capacity to counter the US directly, so we cannot reject the possibility that Iran provided anti-aircraft weapons to the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
," said Nabil.

The crash happened in Taliban-controlled area.

On Tuesday the Taliban made several statements about the incident, but it is unclear whether or not they claim responsibility for the crash, based on the ambiguous language of those statements.

The AP reported that the Bombardier E-11A is a US Air Force electronic surveillance plane, which carries hi-tech equipment: "The so-called Battlefield Airborne Communications Node can be carried on unmanned or crewed aircraft like the E-11A. It is used by the military to extend the range of radio signals and can be used to convert the output of one device to another, such as connecting a radio to a telephone."

The AP said the US military uses the system as "Wi-Fi in the sky," in areas where communications are otherwise difficult, elevating signals above obstacles like mountains."

"The higher this aircraft flies, the better it provides coverage--this aircraft flies very high, so I don’t think that this aircraft was shot down from the ground," said Abdul Wahab Wardak, a former commander of the Afghan Air Force.

"Reports were received of engine failure from this plane," said Ghulam Masoom Masoomi, head of Air Traffic at Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai
...A product, and probably the sole product, of the Southern Alliance...
International Airport on Monday, before the US front man confirmed the plane belonged to the US military.

On the one hand, local officials said that the "Taliban have taken the bodies of dead passengers from the plane," and some who have remained alive were "taken into Taliban custody."

On the other hand, on Tuesday afternoon members of Ghazni’s provincial police told TOLOnews that US forces had taken the two dead bodies of the crushed plane from Ghazni on Tuesday.

"The latest information indicates that there were about seven to eight people on the plane--the Taliban seized three dead bodies," said Abdul Jame Jame, a member of the Ghazni provincial council.

Police Investigating Murder of Pro-Migration Finnish Woman by Her Migrant Boyfriend
[SummitNews] Woman allegedly wrote social media posts "about how shitty white men are".
Possibly she is now pondering the fact that it was not a “white man” who murdered her...
Police in Finland are investigating the murder of a woman killed by her migrant ex-boyfriend after making pro-mass migration posts on social media.

Sanni Ovaska was reportedly killed last week by Hasan Alqina, who then did away with himself. Alqina was in the country as a Paleostinian asylum seeker and had earlier been denied a residency permit.

Authorities were alerted after a neighbor saw evidence of a crime at the apartment in Hämeenlinna. A photo was later posted to Twitter showing blood seeping under the door of the apartment.

"Ovaska had reportedly made anti-white posts on her social media accounts as well as championing a variety of progressive causes," reports National File.

The source for this claim was Finnish commentator Tiina Wiik, who tweeted, "Young woman has an arab asylum seeker boyfriend and writes social media posts about how shitty white men are. Any guesses on how this turned out?"

Wiik claims that the woman was murdered because she was trying to leave her boyfriend.

"Not the first such case in Finland," remarked Wiik. "One Afghan raped and burned his girlfriend, one Iraqi decapitated a middle-age woman who was trying to leave him."

Police say that the investigation is still in its early stages and that the motive remains unknown. Some have also claimed that the woman was decapitated, although this has not been confirmed.

This is by no means the only case of women being attacked or killed by migrants colonists with whom they have cultivated a romantic relationship.

Last year in Normandy, La Belle France, a left-wing student immigration activist was stabbed to death by her migrant ex-partner who had been staying at her home.

Turkey deports four French nationals over terror links
[Hurriyet Daily News] Turkey deported four terrorists of French nationality back to their home country on Jan. 28, the Interior Ministry announced.

The terrorists were deported as part of Turkey's ramped-up efforts to repatriate foreign terrorist fighters, the ministry said in a written statement.

It did not specify which terror group the fighters belonged to, but in recent months it has been stressing the return of ISIL terrorists.

The issue of the handling of ISIL members and their families detained in Syria -- including foreign members of the terror group -- has been controversial, with Turkey arguing foreign-born terrorists should be returned to their countries of origin.

Ankara has said several European countries resisted its efforts to send ISIL members back to their countries, but that it will nevertheless press forward.

Turkey deported almost 780 foreign terrorist fighters back to their countries of origin in 2019, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said ahead of the new year.

Accused Istanbul gunman may face 40 life terms
[Hurriyet Daily News] The accused gunman in a 2017 nightclub attack in Istanbul which killed 39 people could face 40 aggravated life sentences.

A court in the Ottoman Turkish metropolis Istanbul on Jan. 27 indicted Abdulkadir Masharipov, an Uzbek national, on charges of murder and being a member of an armed terrorist group, according to judicial sources.

Istanbul’s Heavy Penal Court No. 27 also requested aggravated life imprisonment for Masharipov for attempting to overthrow the constitutional order, said the sources, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The indictment centers on the deadly gun attack at the Reina nightclub in the early hours of Jan. 1, 2017, which also injured 70 people.

A total of 58 suspects were mentioned in the indictment. Eighteen are in jug and prosecutors recommended acquittal for eight others.

If convicted, Masharipov could face 15 years in prison on charges of being a member of an armed terrorist group plus 2,370 years in total for injuring 79 people in the shooting spree.

The indictment also calls for the same sentences for Masharipov's wife Zarina Nurullayeva as well as alleged co-conspirators Ilyas Mamasaripov, Abdurrauf Sert, and Ali Jameel Mohammed, who, according to prosecutors, were the criminal masterminds behind the plot.

Iraq
US halts weapons deliveries to Iraq amid tensions with Baghdad
[AMN] The United States stopped all weapons deliveries to Iraq in the midst of the growing tensions with the government in Baghdad, the US-based Inside Defense news site reported.

The freeze includes halting supplies for the new F-16 fleet, the report said on Monday citing Air Force spokesperson Brian Brackens.

The Pentagon will resume shipments "when the environment in Iraq is safe enough," Brackens said, according to the report.

On Sunday, three missiles landed on the US embassy’s territory in Baghdad, with one of the missiles hitting the embassy’s restaurant. Several people were reportedly injured.

In early January, the Iraqi parliament voted to expel all foreign forces from the country and also raised the voice for ceasing cooperation with the international coalition.

This came as a response to Washington’s operation, in which Abu Mahdi Muhandis, the deputy commander of the Iraqi Shia militia, and Qassem Soleimani, an Iranian top general ‐ both allegedly involved in the attack on the US embassy in Baghdad on 31 December ‐ were killed.

Washington has threatened that it will impose sanctions on Iraq if the US forces are expelled. Meanwhile, when Salih met with US President Donald Trump on Wednesday, the latter reiterated US’s support for stability in Iraq.

Syrian Army captures several sites in southern Aleppo amid push towards Khan Touman
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian military has been involved in a fierce battle for several hours on Tuesday in the southern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate.

READ ALSO: Syrian military launches new attack to retake eastern Idlib base

The Syrian military, led by Division 30 of the Elite Republican Guard, has repeatedly attacked on Tuesday the jihadist defenses east of Khan Touman in a bid to seize this imperative town in southern Aleppo.

According to a field source, the Syrian military’s persistence has paid off, as their troops managed to capture several hills and points east and northeast of Khan Touman.

The field source added that the Syrian military has now reached the outskirts of Khan Touman after capturing the last hills east of this town that is located near the imperative Aleppo-Idlib Highway (M-5).

Should the Syrian military capture Khan Touman in the coming hours or days, they will have positioned themselves to potentially cross the Aleppo-Idlib Highway and attack the jihadist positions west of this roadway.

Syrian Army is less than 13km away from 2 important cities in Idlib
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) scored a massive advance in the Idlib Governorate on Monday, seizing over ten towns and villages from the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
(HTS) and the Ottoman Turkish-backed National Liberation Forces (NLF).

Led by the 25th Special Mission Forces Division (formerly Tiger Forces), the Syrian Arab Army managed to capture several towns and villages throughout the day on Monday, putting their forces at the southern and northern axes of Ma’arat al-Nu’man in the eastern part of Idlib.

As a result of this advance, the Syrian Arab Army troops now find themselves within 13km of both Ariha and Saraqib, two important cities in the Idlib Governorate that are located along the Latakia-Aleppo Highway (M-4).

The Syrian Army lost Saraqib to the Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA) in 2012 and Ariha to Jabhat al-Fateh in 2015.

If these two cities are lost, the Syrian Arab Army will be within striking distance of Idlib for the first time since they lost the city to Jabhat al-Fateh during the latter’s Spring offensive in 2015.

Turkish military convoy heads to southern Idlib amid Syrian Army advance
[ALMASDARNEWS] A Ottoman Turkish military convoy crossed the border with Syria through a checkpoint of Kafr Lusein, located in the north of the Libido Governorate, and is heading to the south, Al Arabiya TV channel reported citing the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

READ ALSO: Large number of Iraqi military reinforcements sent to Syrian border

According to the TV channel, the Ottoman Turkish convoy consists of 30 vehicles, including 12 armored vehicles carrying equipment.

Earlier, Al Mayadeen TV channel reported that the Syrian forces had surrounded a Ottoman Turkish observation point in Maar Hattat, a Syrian village in the Idlib Governorate. On December 23, another Ottoman Turkish post in Sarman, in the south of the Idlib Governorate, was besieged.

The Syrian army’s command launched an offensive in Idlib on December 19, 2019. The forces have liberated 46 settlements in the south and the east of the Governorate, regaining control over 320 square kilometers of the territory.

Idlib is the only Syrian region that is still controlled by illegal gangs. A northern de-escalation zone was set up in Idlib in 2017 to give shelter to holy warriors and their families who were reluctant to voluntarily surrender arms in Eastern Ghouta and in Syria’s southern regions. Twelve Ottoman Turkish army’s observation points are operating in the Idlib Governorate.
