-Lurid Crime Tales-
Is this the equivalent of putting a Horse Head in Pritzker's bed?
[ZeroHedge] Chicago police have confirmed that a high-end Burberry store on the city's central Michigan Ave. was robbed no less than two times this week, with the second break-in coming early Thursday morning. The first instance was Tuesday morning, with the burglaries being especially brazen given they took place in daylight hours, or just before dawn. The Tuesday incident involved five men in a White SUV, but apparently with no other leads or identifiers. So naturally they hit the same site again, plus others.

But as CWB Chicago details of the second break-in, it appears the criminals are positively boasting about the ease of mass theft in a seemingly "lawless" windy city: "A group of armed burglars broke into two Lakeview convenience stores, dumped their stolen cash registers in front of Gov. JB Pritzker’s home, and then burglarized the Burberry store on Michigan Avenue early Thursday."

Austin judge sets $50K bond for child sex predator after previous judge recommended $1 million
[FoxNews] A homeless, convicted sexual predator, arrested in Austin, Texas, for felony sexual assault of a child had his bond set at $50,000 by a magistrate judge in late December, despite a previous judge having earlier recommended a $1,000,000 bond.

"It’s just unconscionable that a judge that took an oath to keep the community safe, to protect children, would do something that would take a known career criminal and violent predator and put him back out in the street," Austin Police Department Senior Officer Justin Berry told Fox News. "It’s just appalling."

The magistrate said she followed the proper procedures when considering the bond.

Austin Police dispatched to a Dec. 27 criminal trespass call where they reported witnessing Ronald Martin Jr., a convicted sex offender, "performing oral sex on what appeared to be a young juvenile male," an affidavit reviewed by Fox News stated.

Police booked Martin on Dec. 28 into the Travis County jail on an open warrant for failure to register as a sex offender while they continued to investigate the new allegation. Martin, who is listed as a lifetime high-risk sexual offender by the Texas Department of Public Safety, has previous convictions for multiple child sex crime convictions, including at least one with a 7-year boy, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Police later identified the juvenile in the alleged December assault as a 14-year-old from Kentucky. He said he met Martin on Instagram, where he went by the aliases of "Jaden" and "Kevin," according to an interview with police.

Following interviews with Martin and the boy, Austin municipal court Judge Patrick McNelis signed a warrant for Martin’s arrest on Dec. 29 for second-degree felony sexual assault of a child. McNelis also signed a recommended bond of $1 million citing, in part, that "the defendant is currently in custody for failure to register as a sex offender."

The next day, Martin appeared for a bond hearing before Judge Christyne Harris Schultz. She signed off on a $50,000 surety bond for Martin, which meant he could walk free if he posted just 10% of the bond amount, or $5,000.

"As a judge, I follow the code of criminal procedure, in every case," Harris Schultz told Fox News in a phone call. "And in determining the amount and the conditions of bail, [I] consider the financial resources and their ability to make bail, and the safety of the community and the alleged victim as well."

Low bail set by judges for sexual offenders like Martin leaves Austin officers with "a sense of hopelessness," Berry, who is running as a Republican for a seat in the Texas state legislature, added.

Austin has a "culture" issue when it comes to policing and crime, he said. He highlighted that city judges are appointed by the city council, which he believes is taking a relaxed approach to crime.

In 2020, the Austin City Council voted to cut police funding by up to $150 million.

"The culture has really got to change," Berry, who clarified that he is not the department's spokesman, told Fox News. "I think [the] city of Austin, our elected officials, really got to stop meddling" and stop giving "woke dictations to our magistrates."

Martin remains in jail on a $50,000 bond for the sexual assault charge and $10,000 for his alleged failure to register as a sex offender. His next court hearing on the assault charge is scheduled for Jan. 20.

#9  ruprecht, IIRC, the way that bail bondsmen work is that you pay them a percentage of the bail (10%?), and they pay the court. If you show up for court (which is what bail is supposed to do), the bondsmen get their money back, but you don't. If you don't show up, the bondsmen are out of money, but they can pursue you to get you. Plus the court will issue a bench warrant for your arrest.

Fortunately, I've never been arrested, so this is all stuff I've picked up from reading.

Disbelief at woke Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg as he downgrades serious crime
More on this story from yesterday.
  • [Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Alvin Bragg released a memo on Monday telling prosecutors to use prison as a 'last resort'

  • He told them to downgrade some armed robberies to petit larceny cases, and said he would no longer prosecute misdemeanor drugs charges or prostitution

  • NYPD unions say he is emboldening criminals, who are already running rampant

  • NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy called it 'pure insanity' and Curtis Sliwa, the defeated Republican candidate said it's now 'open season on crime'

  • He slammed new Mayor Eric Adams who vowed to be tough on crime, but who is now endorsing Bragg

  • 'Beware of Eric Adams who says one thing and then immediately embraces the guy who is advertising: 'come to the borough of Manhattan and commit crime'

DeSantis Knocks Jen Psaki for Criticisms: If You Cared About Saving Lives You Wouldn't Ignore Treatment
[Breitbart] Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) administration hit back against criticisms lodged by White House press secretary Jen Psaki after she suggested that DeSantis has not done enough to promote vaccines for the Chinese coronavirus — as he has championed freedom of choice as well as lifesaving treatment.

During Thursday’s press conference, Psaki defended the Biden administration’s approach to get the pandemic under control "through the lens of equity" and dismissed criticisms from the Florida governor.

"I’d say it’s pretty rich coming from Gov. DeSantis given he’s somebody who’s been advocating, not exactly advocating for people in his state to get vaccinated," she said, adding:

Big Left-Wing 'Dark Money' Groups Fund Schumer's Secretive Anti-Filibuster Ally
[THEEPOCHTIMES] Fix Our Senate, the obscure outfit leading a coalition of 70 liberal advocacy groups backing Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer
...Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras and microphones. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower, which is 46.08818 years, or 322.61726 years in dog years. Senate minority leader as of 2017...
’s (D-N.Y.) anti-filibuster drive, is a left-wing "dark-money pop-up," according to a political nonprofit finance expert.

"Fix Our Senate may present itself as a standalone, grassroots activist group, but it’s actually a front for the Sixteen Thirty Fund, itself part of a $1.7 billion left-wing ’dark- money pop-up’ empire run by the shadowy consulting firm Arabella Advisors," said Capital Research Center (CRC) senior investigative researcher Hayden Ludwig.

"We call these fronts ’pop-ups’ because they’re websites which pop into existence, run attack campaigns, and disappear in an instant and almost never reveal their connection to Arabella or its nonprofits," Ludwig told The Epoch Times on Jan. 4.

The CRC is a conservative nonpartisan foundation that specializes in tracking trends among the most influential charities, nonprofits, and special-interest groups affecting the public policy process in the nation’s capital.

"We study unions, environmentalist groups, and a wide variety of nonprofit and activist organizations. We also keep an eye on crony capitalists who seek to profit by taking advantage of government regulations and by getting their hands on taxpayers’ money," CRC says of its purpose on its website.

Schumer promised earlier this week to seek a vote by Jan. 17 on abolishing or reforming the filibuster—the Senate’s "cloture" rule that requires 60 votes to end debate and vote on a proposal—if Senate Republicans block consideration of two election reform packages that are top priorities of the Democrats’ progressive, or far-left, faction.

Republicans argue the reforms—the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act—severely limit or eliminate entirely the use of photo IDs and related ballot security measures, and require that all proposed changes to state election laws have prior Department of Justice (DOJ) approval.

Defense: Whitmer 'kidnapping plot' disintegrating as FBI loses credibility
Good.
[JUSTTHENEWS] When law enforcement touted foiling a months-long kidnapping plot of Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer
...Her Excellency, the dictator of Michigan, 2020 Dem VP contender who never got off the ground...
in October 2020 that spanned several states and included encrypted chats and explosives, many believed it was an open-and-shut case.

But more than a year later, critics say the arrest and convictions of the lead FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
agent and an FBI confidential informant blurred the line between turban and confidential informant. Moreover, three planned witnesses have been accused of crimes and won't be testifying in the March 8 trial in Grand Rapids as defense attorneys question the FBI's credibility.

The former lead FBI agent credited with foiling the plot, Richard Trask, was arrested on a domestic violence charge after allegedly smashing his wife's head into a desk after leaving a swinger sex party and was later fired.

A second FBI agent, Henrik Impola, also won't be testifying after he was accused of perjury in a separate case, Buzzfeed News reported.

Buzzfeed reported that Jayson Chambers, another agent, used the Whitmer plot to promote his side security consulting firm called Exeintel.

On Christmas Day, defense attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the conspiracy charge levied against five men accused of plotting to kidnap Whitmer. They requested 258 out-of-court statements be admitted into evidence, claiming the communication shows that "government agents and informants concocted, hatched, and pushed this 'kidnapping plan' from the beginning."

"Essentially, the evidence here demonstrates egregious overreaching by the government's agents, and by the informants those agents handled," the filing says. "The key to the government's plan was to turn general discontent with Governor Whitmer's COVID-19 restrictions into a crime that could be prosecuted."

Democrat voting rules bill prohibits states from requiring ID or social to obtain absentee ballot
[JUSTTHENEWS] Voting rules legislation that Democrats are moving forward in the 50-50 Senate would prohibit states from imposing an identification requirement in order to obtain an absentee ballot ahead of an election.

Under the Freedom to Vote Act, a state "may not require an individual to submit any form of identifying document as a condition of obtaining or casting an absentee ballot."

The bill permits a state to require certain information under section 303(a)(5)(A) of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (52 U.S.C. 21083) for voter registration, but a state "may not deny a voter a ballot or the opportunity to cast it on the grounds that the voter does not possess a current and valid driver's license number or a social security number."

Instead, states may require the "signature of the individual or similar affirmation as a condition of obtaining or casting an absentee ballot."

Democrats argue that passage of this bill as well as the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2021 will help protect voting rights and increase access to the ballot box.

Phillip Kline, former Kansas attorney general, disagrees with those provisions of the Freedom to Vote Act that would create one-size-fits-all federal rules for absentee and mail-in ballots.

Not requiring ID or Social Security numbers to obtain mail-in ballots could lead to illegal ballot harvesting, Kline argued.

"There are commonsense protections that are placed on an absentee ballot because you do not have trained election officials to make sure that the voter is not misled or coerced or intimidated to vote a certain way and to make sure it was the actual voter who completed the ballot," he said. "They're eliminating all of those commonsense protections."

Former Space Company Executive Alleges Serial Lawbreaking By Democratic Governor
[DAILYCALLER] A former aerospace company executive accused embattled Democratic New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham
...Dem governor of New Mexico. People who don't support her are QAnon Lizard People, so shut up, damn you...
on Monday, as well as several of her appointees, of retaliating against him after he filed a whistleblower complaint. Zach DeGregorio, the former Chief Financial Officer of Spaceport America, alleges that one of Grisham’s political appointees, Alicia Keyes, encouraged him to falsify an economic impact study. He also alleges that Keyes mishandled a bond refinancing for the purpose of defrauding the state. When DeGregorio attempted to report the wrongdoing, he claimed, he was threatened with investigations and a firing.

DeGregorio resigned from his position at the company in June 2020, shortly after he filed a complaint alleging that Spaceport America Executive Director Daniel Hicks violated several state laws, which led to "possible waste and abuse of taxpayer funds." In the lawsuit, DeGregorio adds that Hicks attempted to break into his email account and accessed emails DeGregorio sent to Keyes about Hicks’ involvement in alleged procurement fraud.

After tracking software was placed on DeGregorio’s tech devices, he claims, he resigned.

A spokeswoman for Spaceport America declined the Daily Caller’s request for comment, citing an ongoing investigation.

Seattle police improperly faked Proud Boys radio talk during 2020 protests, watchdog group finds
[KING5] An investigation by Seattle
...a formerly lovely city in Washington state, governed by communists, anarchists, dipshits, and other sorts of incompetents. Home to Starbuck's, Boeing (at least for now), and Amazon, Microsoft, and Costco, the city became rich beyond its wildest dreams. All that money attracted the usual sort of grifting politician, and it's well on its way to chewing off the hand that feeds it...
's Office of Police Accountability (OPA) shows officers exchanged fake radio transmissions about a nonexistent group of right-wing snuffies at a crucial moment during 2020 racial justice protests.

Fake radio chatter on June 8, 2020 about members of the Proud Boys marching around downtown Seattle, some possibly carrying guns, and then heading to confront protesters on Capitol Hill was an improper "ruse," or dishonest ploy, that exacerbated a volatile situation, according to OPA's report.

A lieutenant with the Seattle Police Operations Center told OPA the radio communications may have been made to test "the response of individuals who the department believed was monitoring its communication channels."

The Proud Boys is a far-right hard boy group with a reputation for street violence.

June 8, 2020, was the day the Seattle Police Department abandoned the East Precinct in the Capitol Hill neighborhood following protests sparked by the death of St. George Floyd
...the patron saint of Minneapolis, a sterling example for our children and indeed for us all. St. George was martyed by the Devil's agents in blue while standing on a street corner preaching tolerance and racial justice or something like that...
in Minneapolis.

Protesters set up camp around the East Precinct and called it the "Capitol Hill Organized Protest," better known as CHOP. The CHOP covered six city blocks and lasted until July 1, 2020, when police cleared the area and eventually re-entered the precinct.

The officers that engaged in the misinformation effort did so in "compliance with orders from the chain of command," according to the report. That chain of command involved an assistant chief, since retired from the department, who approved, ordered and led the effort, according to the report. The OPA states that the assistant chief should bear the responsibility for what occurred.

It is further alleged that another police department employee "improperly supervised the ruse." That employee, retired from the department when he was interviewed by OPA, said he was assigned to participate and organize some officers.

Four other employees participated.

OPA found that the assistant chief abused the discretion afforded to him by: approving and overseeing a misinformation effort without issuing proper guidelines; did not ensure the effort was properly supervised, with the involved officers saying they had not engaged in this type of effort previously; and did not properly document the effort.

Additionally, OPA found that while there was an interest in ensuring police communications were not being monitored, there is no evidence that there was a threat to officer or public safety.

Biden Withholds Annual Report on Deportations
[FREEBEACON] The Biden administration (aka the Wilmington comorra)
...the pack of self-imagined masterminds of strategy and intrigue at the service of the Biden Crime Family and a grateful nation...
has yet to release a report that details the number of illegal immigrants colonists removed from the United States in 2021, keeping the public in the dark about its handling of the immigration crisis.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement did not release its annual report in 2021, a departure from standard agency practice since at least 2011. In each of the last nine years, ICE released the report in the final weeks of the calendar year, most recently on Dec. 23, 2020 during the Trump administration.

It is unclear whether ICE has completed the report, which provides a lengthy summary of the agency’s enforcement and removal operations, as well as immigration-related security threats. A spokeswoman for the immigration agency told the Washington Free Beacon a release date for the report has not been determined.

The absence of the 2021 annual report has prompted outrage on Capitol Hill. Sen. Josh Hawley (R., Mo.) questioned the motives behind the White House's secrecy on the topic of immigration.

"During record-breaking levels of illegal immigration, DHS and ICE have taken steps to dismantle interior enforcement operations that keep our communities safe from criminal aliens," Hawley told the Free Beacon. "I’ve been calling for transparency into these radical policy changes for months. If ICE is intentionally hiding their annual report from the public, then it’s safe to assume it doesn’t show any improvement; it shows failure."

The administration's decision not to release the ICE report marks the latest example of Biden's failure to live up to transparency standards set by both its Democratic and Republican predecessors. The Free Beacon in November reported that the White House violated a congressional statute with its failure to release its report on the number of illegal immigrants colonists in the United States. The 2021 fiscal year saw more recorded illegalBiden Withholds Annual Report on Deportations
border crossings than any time in U.S. history.

Chicago teachers union claims Lightfoot locked them out of online classrooms
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] The reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown

Teachers Union is claiming that Mayor Lori Lightfoot

A racist to the bone, Lori sez that people with the same skin tone all think alike, not quite getting the implications for a city with a population less than thirty percent black...
has locked teachers out of virtual classrooms after the union voted to move to remote instruction in defiance of city officials.

In a pair of tweets sent Wednesday morning, the Chicago Teachers Union said that Lightfoot had "started locking Chicago public school teachers and staff out of their Google Classrooms" and added the hashtag "#LoriLockout."

In a follow-up tweet Wednesday morning, the union said, "We are being inundated with calls and emails this morning from educators who attempted to log into their platforms to connect with their students and teach remotely, and safely, but are being locked out by Mayor Lightfoot."

Disturbing allegations emerge about nonprofit hired to end Bitter Lake encampment in Seattle
[SEATTLETIMES] When the volunteer-run organization Anything Helps, headed by a man who said he could do homeless encampment outreach better, approached Seattle
...a formerly lovely city in Washington state, governed by communists, anarchists, dipshits, and other sorts of incompetents. Home to Starbuck's, Boeing (at least for now), and Amazon, Microsoft, and Costco, the city became rich beyond its wildest dreams. All that money attracted the usual sort of grifting politician, and it's well on its way to chewing off the hand that feeds it...
Public Schools this summer and offered to end an encampment outside Broadview-Thompson K-12, the school district agreed.

The district was under pressure from people in the surrounding Bitter Lake neighborhood to remove the 60-plus-person encampment, and had argued with the city of Seattle for much of the past year about whose responsibility it was and how it should be done.

The school district didn’t devote much money to the effort, and the offer from Anything Helps was appealing because of its price tag: The district thought it would only be paying the costs associated with getting people inside. The group’s leader, Mike Mathias, who used to be homeless himself, and his volunteer team were all unpaid. The district ultimately reimbursed him for more than $20,000 for those costs.

The district did not run a background check or confirm Mathias’ employment history, according to a spokesperson for Seattle Public Schools. Neither did the King County Regional Homelessness Authority, which began working with Mathias on getting housing vouchers to more than a dozen of the homeless people.

If these agencies had, they might have reconsidered putting Mathias and Anything Helps in charge. It was a young agency, run entirely by volunteers and headed by someone who was the subject of protection orders filed by two women who alleged stalking and harassment.

Home Front: Politix
What happened to Ted Cruz?
No single politician will end up being perfectly attuned to the needs of the voters. There is a reason Senator Cruz did not beat out Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, and didn’t try to in 2020.
[AmericanThinker] I know from the volume of email I've received on it that Ted Cruz's comments on January 6, 2021, calling it "a violent terrorist attack on the Capitol," have outraged many conservatives. Ted was once the darling of intellectually inclined conservatives, but I think the bloom is now off that rose.

Tucker Carlson used video of Cruz's comments as the keystone of a segment on how Republicans are being cowardly and granting Democrats their false premises on the riot at the Capitol being an insurrection or even a "terrorist attack." As Tucker put it, he was delivering talking points for Merrick Garland.

#10  While Cruz isn't an establishment cuck, I still think he believes that overall it is a net positive force and works to support the parts he believes in.

This was just signaling to what he thinks is the libertarians and pro-larger government of the GOP to set up his run for 2024.

I doubt he is aware of how much towards small government and anti-establishment the GOP and libertarians have shifted towards and now is covered in the backblast of his very ignorant remarks. This one statement has pretty much doomed any 2024 hopes he had, especially if Trump and/or DeSantis are running and has put a very large hole in his re-election prospects too.

I think he will survive re-election, but barely.

DHS Reportedly Warns US Law Enforcement of Extremist Calls Online on Jan. 6 Riot Anniversary
[SputnikNews] A top Department of Homeland Security official cautioned law enforcement agencies across the US about suspicious online activity advocating violence on the anniversary of the January 6 riot, but said no specific or serious plot had been identified, Axios reported Thursday.

Citing an obtained memo, the outlet noted that it was sent on behalf of John Cohen, the acting undersecretary of the DHS for intelligence and analysis. It reportedly reveals an uptick in alarming online behavior in the last two days.

Report: Democrats Seek to Disqualify Trump from 2024 Campaign amid Resurgence
[Breitbart] Democrats worried about Donald Trump’s resurgence in 2024 are reportedly seeking to disqualify him from mounting a comeback.

While Trump’s polling numbers have regained momentum, a dozen Democrats are fearing Trump’s presumable intention to mount a 2024 campaign to retake the White House, the Hill reported.

Among those Democrats reportedly seeking to deprive Trump of eligibility are reportedly Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), and Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN).
Dirtbags one and all
The Democrats have reportedly sought advice on how to leverage Section 3 of the 14 Amendment, which states:

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President... who, having previously taken an oath... shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Reports indicate the Democrats are focusing on the words "insurrection or rebellion," tied to January 6, to disqualify Trump from seeking office.

#1  Democrats worried about Donald Trump’s resurgence in 2024 are reportedly seeking to disqualify him from mounting a comeback.

...I keep hearing about a 'constitutional crisis', but the only ones I actually see are those created by the Democratic leadership:

*Two likely unconstitutional impeachments against DJT:

The CJSCOTUS is required to be present:

"When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside..."
- Article 1, Sec. 3, Clause 6

CJSCOTUS was not present at either of these impeachments. This is not a mere technicality; this is a serious and likely fatal deficiency.

* It is - to be polite - unlikely that the Constitution allows for the impeachment of private citizens. DJT was Mister Trump when they pulled the second one, they likely had no power to do anything except be extremely cross with him.

* And while we're at it, members of the 1/6 Commission have flatly stated, on the record, that they wish to disqualify DJT from running again. Speaker WickedWitchOfTheWest kept jumping up and down screaming that 'he's impeached forever'. Well, yeah...but he wasn't convicted. Whereas a fella named Alcee Hastings - a Democratic congressman, no less - was impeached while a Federal judge, but was not disqualified from future office.

And if the 1/6 Commission vomits up something that in any way shape or form specifically or generally tries to block DJT from running or taking office again, we run up against Article 1, Section 9:

"No Bill of attainder or Ex post facto law shall be passed. "

Damn pesky Constitution, causing all those crises.

Mike

Stephanie Grisham says group of ex-Trump officials to meet next week to discuss how to 'stop' him
[CNN] Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said Thursday that more than a dozen of her former Trump administration colleagues plan to meet next week to try and stop former President Donald Trump as he continues to "manipulate people and divide our country."

"Next week, a group of former Trump staff are going to come together, administration officials are going to come together and we're going to talk about how we can formally do some things to try and stop him and also, the extremism, that that kind of violence, rhetoric that has been talked about and continues to divide our country," Grisham told CNN's John Berman and Brianna Keilar in an interview on "New Day."

Grisham, who was also chief of staff to former first lady Melania Trump, declined to reveal who will be joining her in the efforts, but said there would be "about 15" of her former colleagues, including some who worked inside the White House. Some of the officials, she said, were junior to her, while others were senior. A few of the officials had "informal chats," did outreach to others, and conducted "some Zooms, some conference calls," culminating in the partially in-person formal meeting next week, according to Grisham.

Several people involved in the effort who spoke to CNN said the group currently includes between 15 to 20 individuals who served in the Trump administration, but have since soured on the former President, and who believe his indisputable control of the Republican Party is negatively impacting the country.

Among those invited to participate in the meeting were former senior officials like Chris Krebs, who had directed the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency inside the Department of Homeland Security, and former top White House aides like John Bolton, whom Trump ousted from his role as national security adviser in September 2019.

Bolton spokeswoman Sarah Tinsley confirmed her planned attendance to CNN. A representative for Krebs declined to comment.

Others who plan to participate include former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, who has accused Trump of having "perverted" the GOP; Miles Taylor, a former top DHS official who penned an anonymous essay during Trump's tenure in which he claimed to be working to restrain the President from within his administration; and Olivia Troye, a former homeland security and counterterrorism adviser to Vice President Mike Pence.

Grisham said she is personally hoping to "travel the country and talk to people who are believers like I once was" and "explain who (Trump) really is," also calling the former President a "master manipulator."

"I'm hoping that people will talk to somebody like me or some of these other people who really did believe in Trump and understand you can be proud of his policies, you can still be behind a lot of the America First policies that he implemented, which I am, but it doesn't have to be him. It just doesn't have to be this man who has caused such chaos and destruction in the country," she told CNN.

She said that the group of former Trump officials will discuss "what are the most effective tactics in order to carry that message," adding that she's "really hoping for a good fight in 2022."

The group is also expected to include certain individuals who "perhaps have not been as overtly public about their criticism (of Trump) to date," according to a person familiar with the group, who did not wish to reveal the identities of those participants at this time.

In an interview with CNN, Troye said there are "many" ex-Trump officials "who remain very concerned and want to come together to figure out how we are going to counter Trump and Trumpism going into this next election and the election after that."

Grisham met Wednesday on Capitol Hill with the House select committee investigating the January 6 insurrection. On January 6, she was Melania Trump's chief of staff at the time, but resigned from her role that day, effectively immediately, as a result of the insurrection, becoming one of the first Trump officials to do so.

Second Democrat Rep. Swalwell spotted in Florida despite vocally supporting strict COVID measures
[JUSTTHENEWS] Rep. Eric I farted on national television Swalwell
... U.S. Representative-for-Life from Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,'s 15th congressional district since 2013. Naturally he's a Dem. His district covers most of eastern Alameda County and part of central Contra Costa County. He was rapidly eliminated from the 2020 Dem nomination pool. He looks a lot like Greg Marmelard, and has the distinction of being one of the few politicians to ever fart on national teevee...
(D-Calif.) is the second House Democrat this week to be spotted maskless on vacation in mandate-free Florida despite previously calling for strict COVID-19 measures.
The photos of Swalwell, published by The Daily Mail, show him maskless with his infant son as he spoke with a friend in the lobby of a luxurious Miami hotel.

Swalwell has repeatedly blasted Republicans over the pandemic and insisted more measures be instituted. In a tweet last week, the California Democrat blamed the GOP for the pandemic.

"As we end 2021, mired in a deadly pandemic, you should know who has prolonged it. THESE GUYS. Republican liars. Your vacation cancelled. Your kids back to virtual learning. And back to masks everywhere," he said.

Swalwell has also repeatedly called for a domestic travel vaccine mandate. Florida has stood against any vaccine mandate and gone as far as allowing residents to fine employers who impose the shot.

Sinema Arrives to Deliver the Final Death Blow to Dems' Filibuster Plan
[TOWNHALL] Sen. Joe Manchin
...Dem senator-for-life from West Virginia. Manchin is one of the approximately one (okay, two) Dem senators who exhibits more integrity than Jello, often even representing his constituents...
(D-WV) has been the one to pretty much deliver the bad news to Democrats concerning their plan to nuke the filibuster. He’s already seen as public enemy number one on Build Back Better after he went on national television to announce he’s killing it because it’s an expensive communist venture. It’s a 50-50 Senate. I don’t get what Chuck is trying to do here. Is it to ward off a potential primary challenge from Alexandria Sandy Ocasio-Cortez
Dem Congressgirl from da Bronx in Noo Yawk and leader of the Mean Girl Caucus in Congress. One of the Great Minds of the 21st Century, she is known as much for her innaleck as for her dance moves. She is all in favor of socialism, even though she's fuzzy on the details. She was the inventor of the Green New Deal, though she doesn't talk about it much anymore...
? Maybe—but she’ll be coming after you no matter what, Chuck. That’s her character. Period. You could pass Build Back Better-plus, and she would still primary you if that was her plan. Yet, Sen. Krysten Sinema is the other party in this ongoing drama among Senate Democrats. They can’t afford to lose one vote. They always end up losing two—these two specifically. And like Manchin, Sinema isn’t keen at all about nuking the filibuster (via Axios):Voting rights: Schumer says the Senate will vote on a package of Senate rules changes by Jan. 17 — less than two weeks away.

While Manchin said he's still talking with his colleagues, he isn't on board with a filibuster carve-out for voting rights — calling it "a heavy lift" — and isn't willing to go nuclear and eliminate the filibuster altogether.

"Once you change a rule, or you have a carve-out ... you eat the whole turkey," the senator told a COVID-thinned group of pool news hounds on Tuesday.

He added that he would want any reform of Senate rules to have GOP buy-in — a long-shot to near impossible ask.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema
...Dem senatrix from Arizona. She began her political career in the Arizona Green Party and rose to prominence for her progressive advocacy, supporting causes such as LGBTQ rights and opposing the war on terror. She left the Green Party to join the Arizona Democratic Party in 2004 and was elected to a seat in the United States House of Representatives in 2012. After her election, she joined the New Democrat Coalition, the Blue Dog Coalition and the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, amassing one of the most conservative voting records in the Democratic caucus. She won the 2018 Senate election to replace the retiring Jeff Flake, defeating Republican nominee Martha McSally. Sinema is the first openly bisexual (meaning she's not particular) and the second openly LGBT woman to be elected to the House of Representatives and to the Senate in 2012 and 2018, respectively. She also was the first woman elected to the Senate from Arizona....
(D-Ariz.), also a key holdout to major filibuster reform, reiterated during the Democratic lunch she will not support any effort to get rid of the 60-vote threshold, according to two sources familiar with the call.

Sinema has been having one-on-one talks with her colleagues for weeks, one of the sources said.

Schumer was hosting a meeting Tuesday evening with Manchin and the other seven Senate Democrats who helped craft the Freedom to Vote Act.

The majority leader said earlier in the day: "Manchin has said all along he wants to work with Republicans, and we've all been very patient ... but I believe he knows we won't get any Republican cooperation."

Minneapolis mayor, incoming interim chief plan to hire more officers
[STARTRIBUNE] Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey
...The inept and ineffective (but I repeat myself) Dem class president mayor of Minneapolis during the George Floyd race riots. Frey issued the order for police to evacuate the Third Precinct so it could safely be burned to the ground, and has since dithered, waffled, and obfuscated on a near daily basis. The city is a Dem stronghold, so he'll probably be reelected...
and incoming interim Police Chief Amelia Huffman rolled out a new crime-fighting plan Wednesday that calls for hiring dozens of coppers, expanding partnerships with other law enforcement agencies and beefing up units focused on investigating violent mostly peaceful robberies and carjackings. At a City Hall news conference, Frey said the department plans to hire five recruit classes to help close a staffing gap created by the departures of hundreds of officers since the murder of St. George Floyd
...the patron saint of Minneapolis, a sterling example for our children and indeed for us all. St. George was martyed by the Devil's agents in blue while standing on a street corner preaching tolerance and racial justice or something like that...
in the spring of 2020. For now, the mayor said, the department was directing its resources to areas that need it most, including assigning officers to neighborhoods where stolen vehicles are frequently abandoned.

"It's clear that violent mostly peaceful crime and the fear of violent mostly peaceful crime is hurting our city," Huffman said. "In fact, it's hurting our entire metro area."

Frey's comments came two months after a Minneapolis election in which voters rejected a ballot measure that would have replaced the Police Department with an agency that would take more of a public health approach to crime prevention.

Since the start of 2020, the department has lost roughly 300 officers, creating significant staffing shortages. Whether the department should return to its size in early 2020, when it had about 888 officers, is sure to be hotly debated in the coming months. The Minneapolis charter sets a minimum requirement for staffing based on population levels, abut 715 total employees.

Though the Nov. 2 ballot measure was defeated, proponents argued that the campaign around Question 2, as the proposal was called, changed the conversation around policing. More people, they argued, were open to consider alternative strategies for keeping communities safe beyond traditional law enforcement.

David Bicking of the advocacy group Communities United Against Policy Brutality said any move to hire more officers should be based on "best practices and research nationwide" and not be a "knee-jerk" reaction to rising crime.

A study examining patrol officers' workloads has been delayed, Bicking said, adding that its findings would have been helpful months ago when city officials were negotiating the budget.

'Jaw-Dropping' Gains for GOP in Florida as COVID Refugees Register RED
[PJMEDIA] Florida Republicans outnumber registered Democrats for the first time in the state’s history, as Blue State COVID refugees tick the Big R on their voter registrations.

Twitter user TimDCpolitico took Florida’s voter rolls from March 31 of 2020 and compared them to the latest figures. The results, he says, are "jaw-dropping," and I can’t think of a better way to describe them.

Out of over 14 million registered voters, last year Democrats held the edge with 37.38% of registrations compared to the GOP’s 35.28%. (The remaining four million or so — around 26% — were independents or members of minor parties.)

Democrats held a two-point advantage, but higher Republican turnout has made the state safely red in the last two presidential elections.

Swalwell slammed the GOP for choosing "violence over voting."

Republicans are "already putting as many barriers to the ballot box as possible" in multiple states, Swalwell said, while "on the other side of the finish line they are putting in place processes where they could reverse the outcome even if we crawl through glass, run through fire, to get to the ballot box."

"If they are able to win the House, the damage they could do to permanently make it difficult to vote and just alter the way we participate in a democratic process could be irreversible," Swalwell added.

In other words, the Pubs might find their gonads and slam the door on Dem rigging, cheating and the stealing of elections.
