[NYPOST] A 29-year-old with a lengthy arrest history was released without bail on an assault and robbery case — only to mug a 93-year-old man in Lower Manhattan a month later, according to police and court records.Ahmad Tucker was arraigned on robbery and assault charges Wednesday after his latest scrape with the law, with police reporting that he knocked the elderly victim to the ground in Lower Manhattan and stole $30 and the man’s MetroCard.
The victim was counting the money outside 274 Grand St. when he was attacked on Sept. 28, according to court records.
Tucker was arraigned from the Bellevue Hospital prison ward, where he was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation, prosecutors said.
He was already awaiting trial on an earlier robbery charge in August, records show.
In that case, Tucker is accused of grabbing a 32-year-old man at the corner of Chrystie and Rivington streets on Aug. 11 and taking his mobile phone and a pair of Apple AirPods. They were quickly nabbed by cops from the 5th Precinct.
Such people need to be locked up to protect society.
Tucker was arraigned on a third-degree robbery charge and released without bail, pending a return court appearance next month.
Prosecutors could have requested bail under state bail-reform laws since Tucker had a pending case. It was unclear why he was released.

During a discussion on MSNBC about Trump’s taxes Thursday morning, Figliuzzi opined that the president’s supposedly dire financial situation made him "vulnerable" to certain entities like {{{Russia}}}.
First he was briefly — ie not long enough to be confirmed, even by President Obama — the assistant director of the FBI, and now he is an MSNBC contributor, where he is no doubt making equivalently impressive contributions to the national understanding...
"He is the most vulnerable president in our history in terms of compromise and potential exposure to those who want to help him dig out of this financial pit in return for a price," Figliuzzi said. "And that’s where the national security problem comes in."
The former G-man added—without evidence—that the president was "entangled with Russia and the former Soviet Block," therefore he was potentially involved with Russian organized crime figures too.
"We need to have a national discussion about how we vet a presidential candidate," Figliozzi declared. "We screwed this up."
He suggested that the media in 2016 didn’t dig "deeply enough" to find dirt on Trump, and added "it’s time to have a discussion about a bipartisan committee that demands tax returns. Make that a requirement."
Figliozzi said the task of the committee would be to expose "financial pictures"of the candidates.
"We got this wrong, and this can’t happen again," he concluded.

President Trump could be released from the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as soon as Monday, his medical team said in an update Sunday to members of the White House press pool, as the president continues his treatment on dexamethasone and Remdesivir to fight coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... Dr. Sean Conley said Trump has experienced two episodes of transient drops in oxygen levels. From Thursday into Friday morning, Conley said Trump was doing well with mild symptoms and oxygen levels in the high 90s. By later Friday morning, the president had a high fever and his oxygen levels began dipping below 94%.
At that point, Conley recommended supplemental oxygen treatment due to concerns about the possible rapid progression of the disease. Trump was adamant he did not need the treatment, but it was nevertheless administered for about an hour at the White House.
He began showing milder symptoms and began moving about his residence at the White House, but, despite these improvements, Conley said the medical team determined the best course of action was to transfer Trump to Walter Reed in Bethesda, Md., by Friday afternoon for a more thorough evaluation and monitoring.
Dr. Sean Dooley, a pulmonologist at Walter Reed, said the president has remained without a fever since Friday morning and his cardiac, kidney and liver functions are all still normal. He said Trump has not shown signs of shortness of breath and was walking around his medical unit without limitation or disability.
Dr. Brian Garibaldi, with Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, said Trump has completed his second dose of Remdesivir and has exhibited no side effects as far as his team can tell. His team will therefore continue plans to keep him on the medication over a five-day period. In response to transient low oxygen levels, the president also has begun dexamethasone therapy and was given his first dose Saturday.
Garibaldi said the president feels well Sunday and the team plans to have him eat and be up and about as much as possible to be mobile, and "if he continues to look and feel as well as he does today, our hope is that we can plan for a discharge as early as tomorrow to the White House where he can continue his treatment course."
Before the presser, Trump campaign senior adviser Steve Cortes described the president as "upbeat and assertive as ever" as he fights the coronavirus in an appearance on "Fox News Sunday" with Chris Wallace.
He added: "This president is going to recover, we are highly confident of that."
White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said on "Justice with Judge Jeanine" Saturday night that the president was experiencing symptoms that had his staff "real concerned" on Friday, including fever and low blood oxygen level, but that he has since improved.
