St. Louis Prosecutor Who Was Going After the McCloskeys Now Has a Small Problem of Her Own
[RedState] St. Louis prosecutor Kim Gardner justifiably got a lot of criticism for filing charges against Mark and Patricia McCloskey for displaying guns to defend themselves and their property.

...Gardener has also faced criticism for fundraising off the McCloskey case from their attorney, who is now asking that the case be dismissed because of that.

Her campaign sent out an email on July 17 that directly spoke of the case and then of donations.

From Daily Caller:

The email went on to say that “President Trump and the Governor are fighting for the two who pointed guns at peaceful citizens during the Black Lives Matter protests” and later included a request for campaign donations, the court documents show.

Gardner leveled felony weapons charges against the McCloskeys on July 20. On July 22, her campaign sent out another fundraising email that directly leveraged her decision to charge the couple.

“In the last 24 hours, there has been a lot of national attention surrounding Kim’s decision to press charges against a couple that brandished guns at a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest,” the July 22 email said, according to court documents. The email went on to ask supporters to “rush a donation today” to signal their support for her in the case, court documents show.

“Ms. Gardner, via her campaign mailers, linked the criminal proceedings against [the McCloskeys] to her personal, financial and political interests,” Joel Schwartz, the couple’s attorney, wrote in the motion Wednesday.

#1  "peaceful citizens"

She forgot to prepend "mostly" to indicate this was just speech-violence whereby you can damage other people's property and break the law with impunity if you're fighting to cover up democrat failure.

Ohio pharmacy board withdraws rule prohibiting use of hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19
Score one for the good guys.
[10TV] Hours after Governor Mike DeWine asked the Ohio Board of Pharmacy to reconsider its decision banning the use of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine to treat COVID-19 in Ohio, the board has withdrawn the rule.

The board said the decision was made "as a result of the feedback received by the medical and patient community and at the request of Governor DeWine."

"This will allow the Board to reexamine the issue with the assistance of the State Medical Board of Ohio, clinical experts, and other stakeholders to determine appropriate next steps," the board said in a statement.

DeWine said Thursday morning he thought the decision to use the drugs should be made between a doctor and a patient.

"The Board of Pharmacy and the State Medical Board of Ohio should revisit the issue, listen to the best medical science, and open the process up for comment and testimony from experts," DeWine said.

The above being a response to this, from the night before: Ohio Board of Pharmacy bans sale of hydroxychloroquine to treat coronavirus

#4  Why is the left and Deepstate so invested in preventing HCQ from being available to the public?

You'd almost think they wanted to kill us off. Lots of drugs cause palpitations and tachycardia. For example, aspirin, oxycontin, niacin, caffeine, Simvastatin and some antibiotics.

The AAPS (Association of American Physicians & Surgeons--doctors-patient rights group) is suing the FDA for withholding HCQ.

After Secret Re-Investigation Of The Case, St. Louis Prosecutor Will Not File Charges In Michael Brown's Death
[HotAir] After a 5-month, secret re-investigation of the case, St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell
...one of the stable of Fair and Just Prosecution prosecutors whose campaign was funded by multi-billionaire Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz in order to drive local governance to the far left, a parallel effort to that of multi-billionaire George Soros...
announced today that he will not bring any charges against former police officer Darren Wilson for the death of Michael Brown.

“Because of the significance of this case to this community and because the family asked, I believed it was necessary to conduct a reexamination of the evidence in the case and come to our own conclusion,” Bell said.

Bell said thousands of pages of documents, including witness statements, forensic reports and other evidence, were examined in his review.

“The question for this office was a simple one: Could we prove beyond a reasonable doubt that when Darren Wilson shot Michael Brown he committed murder or manslaughter under Missouri law,” the prosecutor said. “After an independent and in-depth review of the evidence we cannot conclude that he did.

Bell added “Our investigation does not exonerate Darren Wilson.” That’s a nice touch given that it’s not his job to exonerate anyone.

Slipping Veil: China Gets Praise From Democrats During a Senate Judiciary Committee Meeting
[Red State] China’s greatest defenders can be found in our own capitol.

You can always count on Democrats to embrace our enemies if the name of political convenience and power. Even if that enemy is a tyrannical nation guilty of attempting to subvert the United States and steal from its producers.

They even loved Russia until it was politically inconvenient to do so.

President Donald Trump’s ongoing feud with China is well warranted. They still the intellectual property of American companies, they rule over their citizens with a tyrannical fist, they keep religious prisoners among a list of other human rights abuses.

Oh, and they export viruses that kill thousands while pretending they had it under control all along and did nothing wrong. In fact, they say it was America’s fault.

But since Trump is against China, the Democrats will now proceed to take the stance opposite of him and proceed to declare that China is actually "respectable." Their words, not mine.

More specifically, these were California Senator Diane Feinstein’s words during a Senate Judiciary Committee meeting. See for yourself.

"We hold China as a potential trading partner, as a country that has pulled tens of millions of people out of poverty in a short period of time, and as a country growing into a respectable nation amongst other nations. I deeply believe that," said Feinstein.

Four men admit to paying homeless people in LA's Skid Row cash and cigarettes in exchange for forged signatures on ballots and voter registration forms
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Four men have admitted to paying homeless people cash and cigarettes in exchange for forged signatures on ballot petitions and voter registration forms in Los Angeles' Skid Row neighborhood.

Richard Howard, Louis Thomas Wise, Christopher Joseph Williams and Nickey Demelvin were arrested in November 2018 for their participation in the voter fraud scheme during the election that year and in 2016.

The LA County District Attorney's Office on Wednesday announced that Howard, 64, and Wise, 37, pleaded no contest to one felony count each of registration of a fictitious person and subscribing a fictitious name or the name of another to an initiative petition.

Williams, 41, and Huntley, 45, likewise pleaded no contest to one felony count of circulating an initiative or petition containing false, forged or fictitious names.

Howard received a suspended sentence of three years in state prison and three years of formal probation. Wise received a suspended sentence of 16 months in state prison and three years of formal probation. Williams and Huntley were each sentenced to three years of formal probation.
I.e. No jail time. Let's play Name That Party.
The men were accused alongside five other people of soliciting hundreds of false and forged signatures in Skid Row, an impoverished area with more than 5,000 homeless people living in tents and under tarps.

The group allegedly set up tables near shelters and soup kitchens to lure people in and offer them $1 and cigarettes to sign the ballot petitions and voter registration forms in what prosecutors called 'an assault on our democracy'.

A fifth defendant, Norman Hall, 62, pleaded guilty to one felony count of circulating a petition with false, forged or fictitious names in February and was sentenced to a year in jail.

The four remaining defendants - Kirkland Kauzava Washington, 38; Harold Bennett, 53; Rose Makeda Sweeney, 42; and Jakara Fati Mardis, 35 - are still facing charges.

ComEd bribery scheme hearing is run by daughter-in-law of alleged key player
[MSN] Here’s an opening sentence one might only get to write in an Illinois newspaper:

Nearly two weeks after admitting to a bombshell bribery charge, ComEd executives outlined their ethics reform plan to a panel of state regulators led by the relative of an alleged player in the criminal plot.

Illinois Commerce Commission Chairwoman Carrie Zalewski, whose agency oversees utility rates and safety practices, opened Wednesday’s meeting with demands for "transparency" and "accountability" in light of federal court records that allege ComEd engaged in a "yearslong bribery scheme" involving jobs, contracts and payments to allies of House Speaker Michael Madigan.

One of the Madigan associates that prosecutors say got such a job? Carrie Zalewski’s father-in-law, former 23rd Ward Ald. Michael Zalewski.

That connection was largely ignored during the hearing, however, even as Zalewski herself called the payments "unethical."

Of the agency’s five commissioners, only Sadzi Oliva questioned Zalewski’s participation in the hearing. Oliva, a former state prosecutor, said she would feel "complicit" if she sat silent and allowed the proceedings to continue unchallenged.

"As ComEd’s regulator, rate payers are looking to the commission to have effective and transparent oversight over ComEd," said Oliva, who was appointed by former Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner. "I believe the allegations surrounding the bribery scheme may conflict with Chairman Zalewski’s ability to do her job effectively by adversely affecting the confidence of the public. Holding this hearing, in this manner, is not good for the integrity of the commission while attempting to restore the trust of the rate payers. "

Carrie Zalewski, who is also a lawyer, responded that she took "umbrage" at Oliva’s comments. She did not, however, specifically address her father-in-law’s connection to ComEd or how that relationship could color the public’s perception of the hearing.

"I have not done anything wrong," Carrie Zalewski said to Oliva. "Your actions to suggest otherwise are disingenuous and irresponsible. I perform my duties ethically, honestly and with integrity."

Zalweski did not respond to media questions after the meeting, including whether she has been interviewed or subpoenaed by federal authorities. She hurried out a side door, while an ICC employee who would not give her name said Zalewski had said everything she wanted to say during the hearing and would not be making any more statements.

An ICC spokeswoman has said there is no conflict of interest with Zalewski remaining on the state board. Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker, who appointed her to the commission last year, has said she has his complete confidence.

Her continued role, however, drew criticism from two public speakers at the hearing, both of whom said there could not be true transparency as long as Zalewski ran the proceedings. The commission billed Wednesday’s hearing as the first of several meetings between ComEd and state regulators to discuss ethics reform.

MSNBC Host Blames Trump For Herman Cain’s Death
[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC’s "Morning Joe," went well out of her way to malign President Trump on Thursday, saying he’s to blame for the death of former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain.
...the personable but seemingly horny former Godfather's Pizza CEO who coulda been a contenda...
"Just the facts — Herman Cain went to the @realDonaldTrump TULSA SUPERSPREADER rally -no mask. The campaign squashed people close so the crowd would look bigger. They cheered for their President for hours. Cain tested positive for COVID nine days later. Now Herman Cain is dead," she wrote on Twitter.

A mask wouldn't have helped him. If all the folks he came in contact with wore masks, well maybe.

Or the refill button of a coffee machine.
