Treyfus Gowdius says 'God and history' will be harsh on James Comey
[Washington Examiner] Former South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy says "God and history" will judge James Comey, even if the American justice system does not.

During an interview Friday, Gowdy reacted to a scathing Justice Department inspector general report that found the former FBI director "violated" bureau policy in his handling of memos about his conversations with President Trump.

He was asked if "Lady Justice" is being fair because Comey was criminally referred to the Justice Department for his conduct, but the agency declined to prosecute.

"I’m very sensitive to that. When our fellow citizens think we have a two-track justice system, either for the famous or the not-famous or the rich or the poor, then we are in trouble as a republic. I would tell my fellow citizens this ‐ we have to have other ways of meting out accountability other than simply indictments," Gowdy said on Fox News.

John Brennan warns Trump that his 'protective cocoon' is 'temporary'
[WashingtonExaminer] Former CIA Director John Brennan warned President Trump that the "protective cocoon" surrounding him is "only temporary" in an ominous tweet defending James Comey.

After Trump tweeted, "Perhaps never in the history of our Country has someone been more thoroughly disgraced and excoriated than James Comey in the just released Inspector General’s Report," Brennan responded by saying Comey "is far more decent, ethical, honest, competent, & patriotic than [Trump] could ever hope to be," and it is only because of Attorney General William Barr and Senate Republicans that he is not in a world of "trouble & hurt."

"But their protective cocoon is only temporary," he added.
Hmmmm... what did "Ghost Warrior" mean by that?

The entire Trump Dossier affair was very likely a bilateral UK-US intelligence collection project from start to finish. Anytime a foreign source (Christopher Steele) is involved, you can pretty well bet onerous vultures like Brennan have their spoons in the pudding. This Epstein-Maxwell business is yet another case in point. Big money, foreign players, honey pot nooky; may not be anything there... but all of the ingredients are present.

DNC proudly announces ‘largest religious group within Dem Party’
[BIZPACREVIEW] The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has passed a new resolution praising America’s "religiously unaffiliated" as the "largest religious group within the Democratic Party."
Golly.
"Religiously unaffiliated Americans overwhelmingly share the Democratic Party’s values," the resolution states.
People who are not sure what they believe, and absolutely don’t want to admit sharing those beliefs with anyone else? Definitely something to be proud of.
The resolution also says that the political party should push for "rational public policy based on sound science and universal humanistic values."
If only actual science and humanistic values did not soundly contradict the current values of the Democratic Party.
Another part of the resolution tackles "patriotism," which is not a word many would associate with the Democrat Party in its current form.
"We worship Planned Parenthood and Moloch, sacrificing children in the womb"
"[T]he religiously unaffiliated demographic represents the largest religious group within the Democratic Party, growing from 19% in 2007 to one in three today," says the resolution. "... [T]he Democratic Party is an inclusive organization that recognizes that morals, values, and patriotism are not unique to any particular religion, and are not necessarily reliant on having a religious worldview at all."

It also later goes after religious voters, which seems an odd tactic with a presidential election right around the corner.

"[T]hose most loudly claiming that morals, values, and patriotism must be defined by their particular religious views have used those religious views, with misplaced claims of ’religious liberty,’ to justify public policy that has threatened the civil rights and liberties of many Americans, including but not limited to the LGBT community, women, and ethnic and religious/nonreligious minorities," it says.

The resolution was passed unanimously on August 24 by the DNC at their summer meeting in the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,.

The Secular Coalition of America, a group that supports public policies in favor of atheists, agnostics, and humanists, has already praised the resolution from the Democrat Party.

Challenge to Colorado national popular vote law will be on 2020 ballot
[KDVR] Voters in Colorado will do something next year that hasn’t been done in more than 100 years: Decide on repealing a law passed by the general assembly and signed by the governor

The secretary of state’s office announced Thursday the repeal of the national popular vote law has made the November 2020 ballot after opponents of joining the national popular vote compact gathered enough valid signatures.

The law changes how Colorado would vote for president, requiring electors to cast ballots for the winner of the national popular vote and not the winner of the state.

The law only takes effect if enough states with at least 270 electoral votes join.

Fifteen states and the District of Columbia have joined the compact for a total of 196 electoral votes. Colorado currently has nine electoral votes.

Missouri Councilwoman Takes Oath on Dr. Seuss Book

Oberlin College wants new trial in Gibsons case
Trying to make the process the punishment, and also not to have to pay out tens of millions to the people they so badly wronged.
[CHRONICLET] Citing errors in the six-week trial that led to a multimillion-dollar legal judgment in favor of Gibson's Bakery and the Gibson family, Oberlin College has asked a judge for a new trial to be held in the case.

More than 540 pages of legal arguments and exhibits were filed Aug. 14 by Oberlin College attorneys asking Lorain County Common Pleas Judge John Miraldi to order a new trial.

Attorneys for the Gibsons fired back with more than 125 pages of legal arguments and exhibits of their own Wednesday, asking Miraldi to strike down the college's request.

Attorneys for Oberlin College cited errors in the jury interrogatories and instructions; mistakes in the allocation of compensatory damages; failure of the court to move the trial's venue; errors in instructions on the definitions of libel and actual malice; incorrect and over-broad instructions by Miraldi; improper introduction of evidence; the awarding of "excessive" damages and a host of other issues in the 310-page filing.

They also filed a 232-page motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict, alleging that the jury ordered the college not to pay for its behavior and the behavior of one college official but for "statements that Oberlin College students ‐ not Defendants ‐ made during peaceful, lawful, and constitutionally protected protests on issues of public concern."

A Lorain County jury early this summer awarded Gibson's Bakery and the Gibson family more than $44 million in compensatory and punitive damages from Oberlin College and Vice President and Dean of Students Meredith Raimondo for libel, intentional infliction of emotional distress and interference with business relationships.

At the time, it was the largest civil award for libel in Ohio history. Miraldi later reduced the award to $25 million due to caps on damages allowable under Ohio law, but tacked on additional attorney fees payable to the Gibsons and their legal counsel.
