Assault weapons linked to ATF strategy turn up in US neighborhoods
PHOENIX - The ABC15 Investigators have uncovered new information showing weapons linked to a questionable government strategy are turning up in crimes in Valley neighborhoods.

For months we've been searching through police reports and official government documents to uncover whether assault weapons linked to a controversial ATF plan put Valley communities at risk.

Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives recently testified during a Congressional hearing, saying they knowingly allowed weapons to slip into the hands of buyers who would then distribute the weapons to known criminals.

The strategy was supposed to lead ATF officials to drug cartel leaders, but agents admitted they never followed the weapons to see where they went. As a result, they testified, hundreds of weapons are now on the streets in the United States and Mexico, in the hands of criminals.
Congrats ATF, now you have the guns showing up in the US and being used on Americans. The pure definition of treason and sedition.
Not treason or sedition, malfeasance in office. There's a difference.

#1  Naah. What? Noo.

Are they telling me that criminals...do not respect the law or borders?

Good job FAT. Any chance of FAT being sued if/when one of these weapons kills a kid or cop?

#2  Wow, the AFT weapons have been traced back to... the USA??? WTF? This whole thing just keeps sounding worse and worse. It actually gives credit to ideas like "The CIA developed and marketed Crack in order to destroy inner-city communities.". G-d help us all!

Cynthia McKinney Calls The One Immoral
This means that Obama has lost the important Bat Shit Crazy wing of the Democratic Party.
Former Georgia Democratic Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney blasted President Barack Obama on Saturday at an ANSWER coalition meeting in Washington, D.C. for engaging the United States in a war against Libya. After returning from Libya with a group of U.S. journalists, Ms. McKinney launched a U.S. speaking tour to talk about her trip.

"I took a rash step because I was so outraged that our president would launch yet another illegal, unconstitutional, immoral, war and so I also knew that my government was lying."
Many more comments from Ms. McKinney at the link, but they make my head hurt.

Obama Films Campaign Ad In White House, Possibly Violating FEC Laws?
NRO's Jim Geraghty raises the question of whether Barack Obama filmed a video for his reelection campaign in the White House, which may possibly be a violation of federal election laws.

(UPDATE: RCP's Alexis Simendinger reports that the White House disputes any inference of wrongdoing. A presidential spokesman said that the video does not constitute fundraising under the law, that portions of the White House can legally be used for that purpose anyway, and that previous presidents have done so. Simendinger's complete story is here.)

In the video, President Obama promotes a "Dinner With Barack" raffle. To participate in the contest you need to donate at least $5 to the president's re-election campaign and your name will be raffled off to enjoy a dinner with the President, airfare and accommodations included. In a new web video, Obama announced Vice President Joe Biden will also be attending the dinner.

There is one problem, however. This campaign ad was most likely recorded in the White House, which may have violated FEC campaign finance laws.
MAY being the operative word here. Personally, with Operation Gunwalker, Blagojevich being found guilty, other cronies getting busted I would do everything I could to be the paragon of rule keeping and virtue. Using the White House as your own personal promotion tool, while maybe not illegal is definitely an act that makes you seem elitist and out of touch. Last thing I would want, as Obama, to portray to the world. But maybe he really is that out of touch.

Ellsberg Calls The One A Liar Like Nixon
This means that Obama has lost the important Stone Cold Traitor Wing of the Democratic Party.
Daniel Ellsberg, who leaked the Pentagon Papers to The New York Times 40 years ago, said Sunday in New Orleans that he had one regret about disclosing the secret history of America's involvement in Indochina: that he didn't do it sooner.

Even though he said he voted for Barack Obama for president in 2008 and probably will do so again next year, he said Obama seems to be acting like his predecessors in being loath to withdraw from an unpopular war such as the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"This is not a good year to lose in Afghanistan," he said. "This is not a good year to be charged, however foolishly or falsely, with being a loser or a quitter or weak.

If you say you're withdrawing from Afghanistan or Iraq, and reduce (troop levels) slowly, the public will be off your back. The people will think ... he's moving in the right direction, which is false. The president plans to be out of Afghanistan fully by 2014. I believe that ... is as false as any lie told by (Richard) Nixon or (Lyndon) Johnson."

#1  Becuz when former POTUS Jimbo Carter "tried to do the right thing" in his time, the Soviets invaded Afghanistan, besides other thingys, + deep unilateral US concessions from Jimbo + Admin. weren't enough to motivate the Soviets to peaceable-like pack up their Troops, Tanks + go back home.

#2  One difference - the lies Nixon got in trouble for were not for his own benefit, but in defense of his team. And had Nixon just thrown his people under the bus like Zero does he'd have finished out his term.
Posted by: Glenmore || 06/28/2011 8:41 Comments || Top||

#3  In retrospect, the Democrats of Nixon's time were terrified to incontinence that Nixon was going to start a major investigation into "Who lost Vietnam?", which would have just annihilated the radical wing of the Democratic party.

To counter this, the whole Watergate affair was started over a petty act by some underlings, puffed into a giant balloon. And still Nixon did nothing to counterattack, so the Democrats pressed on.

At almost any point, had he even mentioned a Vietnam investigation, the Democrats would have gladly horse traded away Watergate for a song.

#4  Even though he said he voted for Barack Obama for president in 2008 and probably will do so again next year...

Whooaa...hold the bus there Danny. First, you specualate that the President is so ethically challenged that his war time decisions are motivated from selfish power lust. Then you advance the notion that he isn't just fudging the facts but that he's an outright lier. OK, well your certainly welcome to your opinions. In fact, alotta folks believe the same thing. But let's get this straight. Your still gonna vote for the guy? What no true anti-war type primary challenger? Hey, hows 'bout a true Taftian Pub like Ron Paul...no?

Biden vows to save US middle-class
[Iran Press TV] US Vice President Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
The former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect to be found in the World's Greatest Deliberative Body...
says he will work with Republicans to come to a deficit-reduction agreement that protects the elderly and middle-class workers.

"We're not going to let the middle class carry the whole burden... We're never going to solve our debt problem if we ask only those who are struggling in this economy to bear the burden and let the most fortunate among us off the hook," the vice president said in a speech at the Ohio Democratic Party's annual dinner on Saturday.

Democrats and Republicans are at odds over taxation issues in the national debt-reduction plan.

The Democrats believe any deficit-reduction agreement should include a tax increases -- or elimination of Bush-era tax breaks -- for wealthiest individuals and companies in the country while the Republicans are calling for cuts in government spending and insist on having no tax increases.

Earlier this month, President B.O. said his administration is determined to put an end to the tax cuts for the wealthy, adding that the issue of taxes is a major source of contention between his administration and Republicans on the campaign trail.

Meanwhile,
...back at the desert island, Bert was realizing to his horror that he'd had only one bottle for one message, and he'd forgotten to include a return address...
Obama stressed that a deal to raise the country's debt ceiling includes an increase in revenues, while Republicans demand that the deal be restricted to spending cuts and entitlement reforms.

#1  to bear the burden and let the most fortunate among us off the hook," the vice president said

I never understood the logic these people have regarding taxing the wealthy or those who are well off in order to pay for everything (and everyone it seems) else. Simply put has no one ever explained to folks like Biden about the simple item that those with money can simply move elsewhere?

Its very simple and follows the theory of least resistance (you know the same principle that applies to electric currents and water flow?). If I have lots of money I will go to where I am taxed least or able to get the most gain from my investment. Increases in taxes just makes those that have the money want to move sooner, witness california and the flight so many major corporations.

#2  Simply put has no one ever explained to folks like Biden about the simple item that those with money can simply move elsewhere?

Valentine, I've been in Facebook discussions with Progressives, and they really don't grasp that. It's a "What? and leave show business?!?" reaction. Since they would never move, therefore rich people also wouldn't. They also don't understand the post-Katrina refusal of poor New Orleansers to move back from the undreamt of opportunities of Texas.

#3  It's equally fascinating to listen to them play the 'soak the rich' line when the exploding elements of the federal deficit/expenditures are Social Security and Medicare which are suppose to be funded by FICA payroll taxes.

#7  #2 Simply put has no one ever explained to folks like Biden about the simple item that those with money can simply move elsewhere?

Its because progressives moral compass is set by guys like Bono who simply wouldn't do such a think as leave his beloved Ireland to seek a more tax friendly haven.
Oh wait, Bono still wants to carry the IRE passport, but his money "tans" elsewhere. He has a fabulous home in the South of France just a few train stops from Monoco, known internationally as "... a sunny place for shady people".

#8  Democrats are composed of the poor, and the super wealthy. They never really talk about soaking wealth, just income, to ensure those from old money aren't taxed too badly. Most of the tax the rich is just red meat for the poor and the Marxists.

They are not about building people up, they are about tearing things down. Marxism has always been that way. It's a childish philosphy.
Posted by: rjschwarz || 06/28/2011 10:40 Comments || Top||

#9  We're from the government and we are here to help.

This is simple economics. The people that can afford wizbang accountants have the wealth mobility to move it offshore. Companies that feel the pinch will move elsewhere. Guess who is left? (Hint, 70% of Americans)

The middle class will always be screwed in a tax increase, no matter who it is aimed at. We produce the most, consume the most and play the most. Any tax rise anywhere will be passed onto us either through higher costs or less job opportunity that shoves more people out of the middle class bracket as now they are unemployed and broke.

You want to save the middle class? Get out of business's way, eliminate anti-business regulations and cut the size of the government. Start with the EPA and the DOE. That right there would stop spooking large and small business men and women right there. Add a 4 year freeze to the capital gains tax (or even better, a cut) and you will see hiring start up again. Kill Obamacare and suddenly people will be a lot more optimistic about the future and start spending/hiring.

Of course.... that means the dhimocrats and their cronies will lose power if this happens.

#10  It's equally fascinating to listen to them play the 'soak the rich' line when the exploding elements of the federal deficit/expenditures are Social Security and Medicare which are suppose to be funded by FICA payroll taxes.
FICA is for Social Security. There is a separate Medicare tax withholding. Both are limited by an income cap. Congress can easily remove the cap, taxing all earned income at the same rate. For that matter Congress could easily apply those taxes to capital gains, to bank accounts, or to other property.
When TSHTF, the government will secure its funding by any means possible. The hour is approaching, just when I can't say. When it happens, the 'experts' will say it was 'never expected.'
Whenever I hear a pol talk about 'Saving the US middle class', I smell BS.

#11  No, they do not explain that to Casey Joe Biden. He is a salesman. Salesmen are told how great the product is. Notice he has little to say, other than nose hair in ice cream which is, by the way, a big f@kn deal.

At some point during stage 3 collectivism, basically godless feudalism (or uninspired authoritarianism), people are allowed in, they just are not allowed to leave. Think Hotel California with funeral fugues.
Posted by: swksvolFF || 06/28/2011 11:12 Comments || Top||

#12  Unfortunately for most of us, the Democrats habitually talk about taxing the "rich" and when you read the tax code and determine what they defined as rich is anyone making more than $200K a year gross income. The middle class has been down graded by the Democrats to mean anyone between the poverty line and $50K a year gross income.

The problem is the math. In order to pay down the $1.3 trillion deficit in this years budget, the entire assets, house, dog, wife, car, stocks, bonds, furniture and 100% of the income of all people making more than $200K a year would have to be confiscated. To pay down the total anticipated debt of $14.3 trillion you would have to do the same confiscation of assets and income of all people down to the poverty level.

The Democrats constantly talk about taxing the rich. Then they soak the middle class and the upper middle class and give their rich constituents tax breaks, loop holes and exemptions to reduce their tax burden (which explains why the Dems have exceptionally wealthy people supporting their causes).
Posted by: Bill Clinton || 06/28/2011 11:25 Comments || Top||

#13  In collectivism the middle class must be reduced and heavily controlled.

They say and mean millionaire like it meant during the 80's. Except it is 30 years later.

They only way, and I mean the only way, the rich can look the other way is they have figured out a way to avoid this confiscation as much as possible, and those in washington who get to write the rules; otherwise known as cheating. They can promise comfy chairs to those who play along.

So not only are they downgrading what wealthy is, from 250k to 200k, it will be ground by inflation and increased property taxes (as people run out of money to spend therefore leading to fewer employees aka income tax what will be left is property).

So while idjits begin to realize that creating a partially working Euro style social collective in the US without the contributing resources of the US is a snake eating its own ass it will be interesting to see if washington is going to save their phoney bologna jobs or cash chips and buy yachts. Its too bad we have a president who...oh sorry gotta go, calling my name for tee-off.

It stated they spend most of their time in Bermuda?

Wouldn't that be a tax-free haven?

Then I bought another rag last week about anorexic stars - disgusting, btw.

Dep, Cage, DiCaprio Gibson Murphy - the other was Shakira

don't think she's an American.

So I wonder again
