Eric Adams' migrant camp begins to take shape: Trucks arrive in the Bronx to begin construction of HUGE tent city for 1,000 migrants being bused to NYC by Texas - despite the borough president and locals' huge opposition
  • New York City has seen 13,000 mainly Latino migrants arrive from Texas since the Texan governor began bussing them from the border last month

  • Eric Adams, the mayor of New York, last week announced he was opening two tented camps for them, with the aim being they stay only 96 hours

  • The two massive tents - one on Orchard Beach in the Bronx, the other at an as-yet undetermined location - are in addition to 6,000 hotel rooms

  • On Monday, construction workers were seen beginning building the tents to house the migrants

  • Vanessa Gibson, Bronx borough president, said she was worried the location of the tent in her borough was not ideal, pointing out it floods

White House says it wants Atlanta Braves name change… on same day Biden hosts team
As a child in the late 60s and early 70s I looked forward to the Braves games and visiting Chief Noc a Homa in his teepee in left field and the smell of fire water
[NYPost] White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre encouraged the Atlanta Braves to have a "conversation" about picking a new name Monday — hours after President Biden hosted the team to celebrate their 2021 World Series championship.
Maybe, the Washington Braves?
Jennifer Jacobs of Bloomberg News asked Jean-Pierre at her regular briefing for Biden’s position on the Braves’ nickname as well as the controversial "tomahawk chop" cheer.

"We believe that it’s important to have this conversation, you know, and Native American and indigenous voices, they should be at the center of this conversation," Jean-Pierre responded.

"That is something that the president believes, that is something this administration believes, and he has consistently emphasized that all people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect," she added.

"You hear that often from this president. The same is true here. And we should listen to Native American and indigenous people who are the most impacted by this."

Biden himself had no qualms about saying the team’s name during a celebration in the White House East Room — and noted that its use dates back more than a century, when the Boston Rustlers became the Boston Braves in 1912.

My grandfather was an All-American football player at Santa Clara, and he was a newspaper guy up in Scranton, Pa. His name was Ambrose Finnegan. And when it was the Boston Braves, he didn’t like it. But at any rate, that’s another story," Biden joked.

Biden also paid tribute to the late Hank Aaron, who played for the franchise in Milwaukee and Atlanta for 21 seasons.

Aaron "shattered a lot of records, but he shattered them in racism as well, with dignity and with class," the president said.

"It was a rough start [last year], plagued by injuries. The All-Star break, not one day of a winning record. Given a 0.4 percent chance of winning on CNN. No, I’m only joking," Biden went on.

"At any rate — but the franchise never quit. It never gave in. You rebuilt the whole outfield practically overnight. Play by play, inning by inning, you grinded and you ground it out, and you did it together."

Biden even worked in a joke about his own narrow victory in Georgia in the 2020 election.

"People counted you out. Heck, I know something about being counted out. And I know in Georgia, you show up when it counts," he said.

Sports teams across the country have faced pressure to change their names in deference to Native American activists who say it’s offensive to use their culture for commercial branding.

The Washington Redskins gave into a long-running pressure campaign in July 2020 to change the football team’s name, which some advocates said historically was used as a racial slur. The team is now known as the Commanders.

The Cleveland Indians baseball team dropped their name last year and became the Guardians.

There is ambiguity on whether American Indians want the Braves to rename themselves, however.

Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred said last year that American Indians support the Braves name.

"The Braves have done a phenomenal job with the Native American community," Manfred said. "The Native American community in that region is wholly supportive of the Braves program, including the chop. And for me that’s kind of the end of the story. In that market, taking into account the Native American community, it works."

Richard Sneed, principal chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, based in western North Carolina, defended the Braves name in 2020.

"To me, the Washington Redskins name was probably the only team name that I could look at and say that’s derogatory, that’s a racial slur," the chief said. "But all the rest — they’re an affirmation of the honor and strength and courage and the warrior spirit of native people."

Other groups oppose the Braves name. The National Council of American Indians and the Muscogee Nation, based in Oklahoma but historically from the American Southeast, want the team to rename itself.

#4  People actually listen to that senile wanker of a president?

If they got to Redskins' owner Snider, said to be a real a-hole, then they can get to anyone.

I've also heard 90% of Indians polled did not find the name Redskins offensive.

In Cleveland, there were usually a handful of protesters at every opening day to protest the name. A handful. You had a feeling once the mascot, Chief Wahoo, was excommunicated, the name was next.

And get this: it's been said that the brother of the Indians owner has political aspirations in Ohio; ergo, name change.

#5  DooDahMan,

FWIW, the version I've heard is that the league made it clear a few years before that the name change was going to happen - Cleveland is one of the smallest MLB markets, and as such relies on the League to schedule good games and bennies like the All-Star Game...which the league used like a hammer to get the team to commit to a renaming.

I do know the team fought it literally to the 13th hour, because the change to Guardians was, shall we say, less than smooth and almost at the last minute. The league was fully prepared to sanction the team and make an example out of them...unlike Atlanta, which makes enough money to be able to tell the league to do rude things to themselves.

Thanks, Mike.

Yeah, I do seem to remember now that for dropping Chief Wahoo, MLB awarded Cleveland the All-star Game, but I surely did not hear that they were threatened with sanctions if they did not "comply".

But what pains me about baseball nowadays are all of the rule changes. TV money, surely, but I dislike baseball more because of the rule changes then I do the PC team name changes.

Los Angeles officials challenge accuracy of latest homelessness count, demand audit: reports
[FoxNews] The 2022 count by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) showed zero in Venice Beach

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) released the results of the 2022 homeless count on Sept. 8, saying the data suggested that "homelessness may be rising more slowly than in previous years."

The results of the point-in-time count, conducted over three nights in February, estimated that 69,144 people were experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles County at that time, a 4.1% rise from 2020, and 41,980 people were experiencing homelessness in the City of Los Angeles, up 1.7% from 2020. A count was not conducted in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the agency.

But the count showed that there were no unsheltered people either living in tents, outdoors or in cars or RVs in the northwest quarter of Venice, an area notorious for its pervasive homeless population, the Los Angeles Times reported. According to the count, the number of homeless dropped from 509 to 0.

"During the Count, we received several reports of user and technological errors resulting from a lack of training and poor internet connectivity," Ahmad Chapman, LAHSA’s communications director, said in a statement to the Times. "Despite these errors, we are confident in the accuracy of this year’s homeless Count because LAHSA and its partners took several steps to account for what was happening in the field."

Though the average increase citywide was modest, the count showed large swings in some council districts, including an 80% increase in a west San Fernando Valley district and a 40% decrease in the Westside district that includes Venice. A settlement in a federal court case requires each district to provide housing to 60% of its homeless population, throwing weight behind the count for city policymakers.

In response, Los Angeles City Council President Nury Martinez submitted two motions requesting an evaluation into LAHSA’s count from this year and the prior year, as well as a report recommending options for a third party to conduct the point-in-time homeless count in the future.

Martinez, joined by Councilmen Kevin de León, sought more information from the LAHSA and the city’s housing department on homeless intervention strategies conducted between the last two counts in 2020 and 2022, The Epoch Times reported. Councilmen Mitch O’Farrell and Curren Price also signed onto a motion calling for a report on intervention strategies implemented by each council district in the past five years.

"I go out in our community for homeless outreach at least once a month, and my staff is on the streets every day," Councilman Bob Blumenfield said in a statement, according to the Los Angeles Times. "The increase of people who are unsheltered per the LAHSA Count does not reflect the reality that we see. More transparency over this process would be incredibly welcomed because we are simply not getting answers that add up."

It's become an industry and business is good. Think how many people were employed counting the homeless and how many taxpayer dollars were spent on the project. Of course, they'll have to count them all again next year. And it isn't just the counting. It's all the "homeless outreach" programs, etc., etc...

Where's the graft in that? Well, now you know.

California Rep. Katie Porter trashed Irvine police after they arrested man she lives with
Back in the early 80's Irvine police gave me a ticket for speeding, on the UCI campus, on my bicycle. They then gave me grief about 'operating a vehicle without ID'. When I started laughing at them, I got another for 'obstructing'.
[FoxNews] California Democrat Rep. Katie Porter trashed the Irvine Police Department after they arrested the man she lives with for allegedly assaulting a protester at her town hall event last year.

Julian Willis of La Jolla, California, made headlines in July after allegedly punching a protester at Porter’s first town hall since the COVID-19 pandemic took off and giving him a bloody nose.

Willis, who lives with Porter according to arrest and property records, was arrested and given a citation for the attack.

The scuffle erupted between protesters supporting former President Trump and Porter’s supporters, according to local media reports.

Months after the violent town hall, Porter made rounds in the media talking about the danger she says she faced and how it reminded her of the January 6th riots.

In the aftermath of the attack, though, Porter appeared to harbor some ill feelings toward the Irvine Police Department.

"Your police department is a disgrace," Porter told Irvine Mayor Farrah Khan in text messages from the time exclusively obtained by Fox News Digital.

"I will never trust them again," Porter also said as Khan offered to speak with the congresswoman on the phone about the situation.

The congresswoman — a former law professor who was paid more than $285,000 one year during her time at the University of California, Irvine — made headlines when it was revealed she earned thousands of dollars in royalty fees from law school textbooks that she required her own students to purchase for the courses she taught.

In 2017, Porter, who is now seeking re-election to the House this November, was paid $286,674 to teach two courses per semester at the institution, according to Transparent California.

Since her arrival in Washington, Porter has campaigned on making education more affordable for Americans and stated in 2020 that the American political system has "favored the wealthy and well-connected for far too long" as "powerful people live in one reality while the rest of us live in another."

Republicans Send Preservation Notice to Ex-FBI Official Accused of Shutting Down Hunter Biden Investigation
[Breitbart] Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee sent a preservation notice Friday to former FBI official Timothy Thibault, warning Thibault to save records related to the multiple whistleblower allegations he is facing in the event Republicans take the majority and are able to conduct a formal investigation.

The Republicans referenced in their letter Breitbart News’s report from July revealing an FBI whistleblower had accused Thibault, a former assistant special agent in charge, of pressuring agents to reclassify cases as “domestic violent extremism” despite limited evidence supporting reclassification.

The Republicans also cited a whistleblower claim that Thibault shut down a line of investigation into “derogatory Hunter Biden reporting,” an accusation initially brought to light by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“We have been investigating serious allegations of abuse and misconduct within the senior leadership of the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” the Republicans wrote to Thibault.

They continued:

Brave whistleblowers have informed us that as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the Washington Field Office, you pressured line agents to reclassify cases as “domestic violent extremism” even though there was minimal, circumstantial evidence to support a reclassification. Other whistleblowers have come to Congress alleging that you were part of a scheme to undermine and discredit allegations of criminal wrongdoing by members of the Biden family. Accordingly, we believe that you possess information relating to our investigation and we request your assistance with our inquiry.

In addition to the whistleblower revelation from Grassley’s office, the Washington Free Beacon first reported in September that Thibault “helped bury information” about Tony Bobulinski, a former business partner to Hunter Biden who became a key witness in Hunter Biden investigations after going public with claims that President Joe Biden spoke with Hunter about Hunter’s overseas business dealings.

The letter to Thibault was signed by House Judiciary Committee ranking member Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), as well as Reps. Darrell Issa (R-CA) and Mike Johnson (R-LA).

The letter comes after Thibault, who is also under investigation for a potential Hatch Act violation, resigned from the FBI in August and subsequently denied some allegations against him while ignoring others in a statement through his legal counsel.

In addition to demanding Thibault preserve any relevant documents and communications, the congressmembers also asked that Thibault appear before them to testify, although Republicans, who are in the minority party, cannot issue a subpoena to compel Thibault to appear.

House Judiciary Committee Democrats, who have majority power, control the committee’s investigative activity, such as conducting hearings and issuing subpoenas, and committee chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) has not conveyed interest in investigating the FBI’s handling of probes related to Hunter Biden.

FBI Denies Sending SWAT Team to Arrest Catholic Pro-Life Activist Mark Houck
[Breitbart] The FBI has denied sending a swat team of 25-30 agents to arrest Catholic pro-life activist Mark Houck for allegedly shoving an escort outside of a Planned Parenthood clinic last year.

Outrage ensued among conservatives throughout the weekend when it was reported that the FBI subjected Houck’s children to a fully armored SWAT raid last week under the order of the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Mark Houck, the founder and president of The King’s Men — a group that helps men overcome pornography addiction — was arrested at his rural Pennsylvania home on Friday for allegedly violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act during his regular sidewalk counseling outside of an abortion clinic in 2021. Speaking with LifeSiteNews, Houck’s wife, Ryan-Marie, said that around 25 to 30 fully armored FBI agents stormed their property early Friday morning, aiming their rifles as the children screamed in horror.

“They started pounding on the door and yelling for us to open it,” Ryan-Marie said of the raid.

Prior to opening the door, Mark allegedly tried to reason with the agents to calm them down for the sake of his children. “Please, I’m going to open the door, but, please, my children are in the home. I have seven babies in the house,” Houck allegedly told the agents.

The FBI agents allegedly “just kept pounding and screaming,” according to Ryan-Marie.

“They had big, huge rifles pointed at Mark and pointed at me and kind of pointed throughout the house,” Ryan-Marie said of the moment that her husband opened the door for the agents.

“Our staircase is open, so [the kids] were all at the top of the stairs which faces the front door, and I was on the stairs as well, coming down,” she said. “The kids were all just screaming. It was all just very scary and traumatic.”

In a statement to Fox News on Sunday, a spokesperson with the FBI Philadelphia field office denied that a SWAT Team had been used to apprehend Mark Houck.

“There are inaccurate claims being made regarding the arrest of Mark Houck. No SWAT Team or SWAT operators were involved. FBI agents knocked on Mr. Houck’s front door, identified themselves as FBI agents and asked him to exit the residence. He did so and was taken into custody without incident pursuant to an indictment,” the FBI said.

The FBI did not deny that up to 25-30 armored agents were on the scene or that Houck’s children witnessed the agents pointing rifles at their father and mother to arrest him for allegedly shoving someone in front of an abortion clinic.

Houck’s wife told Catholic News Agency that a “SWAT team of about 25 came to my house with about 15 vehicles and started pounding on our door” and that they had “about five guns pointed at my husband, myself and basically at my kids.”

According to Ryan-Marie, the charges were from an incident in which he shoved a pro-abortion activist who had been harassing his 12-year-old son in front of an abortion clinic during one of his sidewalk counseling sessions. The charges were reportedly “thrown out of the District Court in Philadelphia” earlier this year only to later be picked up by Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice.

Local reports conveyed a different story, charging that Houck shoved the man, a 72-year-old, on two occasions, the second of which required “medical attention.” WHTM reported:

In the first incident, the man was attempting to escort two patients exiting the clinic when Houck forcefully shoved him to the ground. In the second incident, Houck allegedly confronted the man and shoved him to the ground in front of the Planned Parenthood center, causing injuries that required medical attention.

The report did not mention Ryan-Marie’s claim that the case had been thrown out of District Court prior to the Department of Justice picking up the charges.

The FACE Act makes it a federal crime to intimidate, injure, or interfere with anyone attempting to provide abortion access. U.S. Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero said:

Assault is always a serious offense, and under the FACE Act, if the victim is targeted because of their association with a reproductive healthcare clinic, it is a federal crime. Our Office and the Department of Justice are committed to prosecuting crimes which threaten the safety and rights of all individuals.

“Put simply, violence is never the answer,” said Jacqueline Maguire, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Philadelphia Division. “Violating the FACE Act by committing a physical assault is a serious crime for which the FBI will work to hold offenders accountable.”

Houck could face up to 11 years in prison and fines up to $350,000 if found guilty.

It all depends on how you define "SWAT TEAM".

So to the DC Swamp/MSM.
Is it only when the word SWAT is on the armor vests and not the way the arrest is conducted?

The FBI did not deny that up to 25-30 armored agents were on the scene or that Houck’s children witnessed the agents pointing rifles at their father and mother to arrest him for allegedly shoving someone in front of an abortion clinic."...but FBI Philadelphia field office denied that a SWAT Team had been used... "

I have also to say this.
Because these are NOT the typical type of rank and file tactics of Federal, nor State Law Enforcement Agents that I have met and interacted with over previous years.

Having Noted:
Only certain Metro area FBI and ATF offices are using overly oppressive strong arm force tactics and raids. I can't help but wonder if this is all part of a bigger LSD end-game agenda? Given, it would only take the placement of a few minions to politically control those key LSD political strong hold locations.

#6  “Violating the FACE Act by committing a physical assault is a serious crime for which the FBI will work to hold offenders accountable.”

I'd figure verbal assault and sexual suggestion to a minor would be.

But let's play semantics..SWAT team, mechanized platoon, whatever, so it didn't happen!

And why am I picturing the Neo-Phelps taking a soccer dive? Probably because that is Westboro Tactics 101.

Houck could face up to 11 years in prison and fines up to $350,000 if found guilty.

He go Goku his ass? Bet it was less physical than the arrest was.

#8  “Put simply, violence is never the answer,” said Jacqueline Maguire, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Philadelphia Division.

So why do you show up at a man's home, whoi has no history of violence, no criminal background, no evidence of giving armed resistance... with 20-30 armored agents armed with automatic rifles and other gear more appropriate for a riot or a gangland boss?

The FBI needs to be dismantled and the small-brained would-be Stasi/gestapo-minded FBI agents, in this case, need to be eliminated from ever serving in a public role or law enforcement ever again.

#10  The "72 year old" guy was making inappropriate comments to Houck's kid. Obviously Houck opened that door by bringing his kid along, but when he told the guy verbally to stop it. The guy should have stopped.

Post J6, even being peripherally present at a protest with political overtones (Yeah, I know, that would be all of them) is asking for trouble if you are on the side the "progressives" in charge don't like.

Obama Claims Racism to Suppress American Opposition to Biden's Deadly Migration
[Breitbart] Americans oppose President Joe Biden’s lawless and wage-cutting mass migration because they are racist, not because of their economic worries, according to former President Barack Obama.

"Right now, the biggest fuel behind the Republican agenda is related to immigration and the fear that somehow America’s character is going to be changed if, people of darker shades, there are too many of them here," Obama told a meeting of Hispanic realtors on September 25 in San Diego, California.

Obama used his divide-and-rule claims of racism to hide the public opposition to migration’s economic impact, according to his comments posted in a September 25 report by the San Diego Union-Tribune:
I wish I could be more euphemistic about it except [they’re] not that subtle about it — they’re just kind of saying it," Obama said. "You hear it on hard-right media, you hear it from candidates and politicians, you hear things like ’great replacement theory’ — I mean, this is not subtle. Unless we’re able to return to a more inclusive vision inside the Republican Party, it’s going to be hard to get a bill done.

Obama also argued that public opposition to mass migration is more dangerous than government support for the nation-changing migration that has killed thousands of migrants and many more Americans:
When you have that kind of rhetoric floating around out there, we’ve seen in history that is dangerous rhetoric. It’s dangerous wherever it appears and it’s dangerous here in the United States.

#3  Racism is the entire tool-kit of demokrat politicians and proto-communists, and it still works on the mush-headed twits the universities are increasingly turning out. The true, anti-white racism purveyed every day by our own government is invisible to the MSM because they have had actual, observational, reasoning skills bred out of the gene pool over the past ten years.

As an aside, why isn't the entire production budget of the View considered a Campaign Contribution-In-Kind to the demokrat party?

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), huge influence on Biden administration policymaking, has deep ties to the Chinese government.
[FoxNews] Green groups' ties to China will be 'top priority' for House Republicans after midterms, GOP spokesperson says.

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), a major U.S. green group that has influenced Biden administration policymaking, has deep ties to the Chinese government.

The NRDC, a non-profit organization based in New York City with total assets exceeding $450 million, has worked on climate issues extensively in China since the mid-1990s and several of its top officials have worked for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) or government-sponsored institutions.

The NRDC also maintains a close working relationship with President Biden's administration. The NRDC's former president, Gina McCarthy, served as Biden's climate czar up from January 2021 until earlier this month. Current president, Manish Bapna, has attended at least two White House meetings, visitor logs reviewed by Fox News Digital show.

The NRDC regularly communicates with Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry's office on policy issues, according to internal State Department emails obtained by the watchdog group Protect the Public's Trust and shared with Fox News Digital.

On its website, the NRDC highlights its collaboration with a "wide range of Chinese and international partners" to boost green policies and "fortify" environmental regulations in the country.

The NRDC, though, rarely condemns the communist government in China despite the nation's massive world-leading carbon footprint and its commitment to fossil fuel energy. China accounts for about 27% of total global emissions — nearly tripling the total in the U.S., the world's second-largest emitter, according to Rhodium Group — and continues to approve and construct a large amount of coal power plants.

"China has made a serious commitment to turning its cities into healthier places to live and currently leads the world in renewable energy installation and electric vehicle penetration," the NRDC website states.

While the group has a sizable international program that extends into Canada, India and Latin America, its sole office outside the U.S. is located in Beijing, China's capital city. The NRDC's Chinese language website states the office is registered under the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau and supervised by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration of China.

The NRDC's most recent tax filings showed that the Chinese office is staffed with 35 employees and has a $4.2 million annual budget. By comparison, the group's international work in North America, South America, South Asia and the Middle East has 11 staffers and a $1.1 million annual budget.

It is unclear whether the NRDC accepts direct or indirect funding from individuals or organizations affiliated with the Chinese government. The Internal Revenue Service generally does not require nonprofit organizations to publicly disclose donor information.

In addition, numerous key members of its Beijing office have previously worked for China's communist government or left the group for a government position.

For example, Jieqing Zhang, the director of NRDC's China program, was the former deputy director-general of China's International Cooperation Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. Kai Duan, an NRDC senior project manager, also worked for a subagency within the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

JingJing Qian, a current senior strategic adviser for the group's China program, formerly worked at China’s Ministry of Science and Technology. Another senior adviser, Yinying Chen, previously worked in "universities, government agencies, state-owned enterprises and private companies," her NRDC profile says.

Hui Huang, a project manager for NRDC's climate and energy project in China, in the past worked for the China Datang Corporation, a state-owned electricity generation firm.

And, Zhiming Pan, the director of NRDC's city project, was previously an official at the Chinese Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.

"We strive, in all of our offices, to build teams centered around the most knowledgeable and effective staff available," Amanda Maxwell, the managing director of NRDC’s international program, told Fox News Digital in a statement. "In approving our advocacy positions, in China and the United States, we rely on our U.S.-based executive leadership, and no one else."
