James Clapper: Mueller Report ‘Devastating,' ‘Road Map' for Impeachment
[Breitbart] Appearing Thursday on CNN’s Cuomo Prime Time, former Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper said special counsel Robert Mueller’s report is "devastating" and provides a "road map" for impeachment of President Donald Trump despite exonerating him of criminal conspiracy with Russia.

CHRIS CUOMO: First of all, your take on how the AG has handled this process culminating today?

JAMES CLAPPER:
Well, to be honest Chris, I’m a bit disappointed. I think the Attorney General is clearly trying to paint as favorable a light on the Mueller report as possible and when you read it, it’s pretty devastating. I’ll tell you though, the big deal for me in this is laying out in very rich detail the magnitude and pervasiveness of the Russia interference in our election in 2016. And it’s personally gratifying because the intelligence community’s assessment that we rendered on January 6th of 2017, briefed President-elect Trump on about the Russia interference. But this report, we only scratched the surface and I hope Americans will take the time to read that, the collusion, obstruction aside. The big deal to me is the magnitude of the Russian interference. No one can say they didn’t interfere and, in fact, taint the election.

#1  Every time a Republican is elected to the Presidency is this type of Dem party intimidation going to be the new norm?

#2  Neville, it excavates because the GOP does nothing about it. Hopefully Cocaine Mitch has realized that and will not follow the law instead of giving the old boys a pass in the name of congeniality.

#3  Clapper said special counsel Robert Mueller’s report is "devastating" and provides a "road map" for impeachment ...... Well to be honest Chris...

Get an advance copy did he? "Well to be honest Chris"..... An "honest" James Clapper? Is he now writing for the Babylon Bee and Onion ?

Deep State counter-battery fire, nothing more. A well deserved STFU coffee cup for Clapper. Very well deserved.

CMIIW but who was the Pres. at that time? Wouldn't he have been responsible for "missing" all this? Was this all a display of flexibility?

#8  They will impeach Trump if they think they will lose the house. Got nothing to lose at that point. I expect June-July of 2020 to be really interesting/crazy.

Nobody expects Cuomo to ask this question but I will: OK, smart guy, if you were Director of National Intelligence at the time, if you are such a fucking smart guy, why were you not aware of Russian interference and why didn't you do anything about it? Were you too busy spying on Trump and other US citizens? Could it be you're not so smart after all?

#11  They will impeach Trump if they think they will lose the house.

That requires cooperation from the Senate, not to mention that the Senate sits as judge and jury — the House only prosecutes. But yes, there will be lots of shrieking and poo flinging.

Impeach yes. Remove, No. There is no way they are gonna get 2/3rd of the Senate to vote yes.

Think of Impeachment as a rally call to their base and to further de-legitimize the republicans. The last hail mary to hold onto power.

#16  2020 will be a watershed in which the Dems will shed the worst of their socialist crazies or disappear as a national party.

It probably won't happen until after a huge landslide loss in the elections though. I also suspect the Socialist wing will be happy to go, blaming interference by the corrupt wing for their drubbing by orange man.

#17  The problem is you have the cynical looting wing (Illary Obama SPLC) or the crazy marxist wing (who actually think it will help).

Britain
Rotherham peer Lord Ahmed charged with fourth child sex offence
[Rotherham Advertiser] ROTHERHAM peer Lord Nazir Ahmed has appeared at court — alongside his two brothers — charged with a fourth historical child sex offence.

The peer faced the further allegation of buggery against a boy under 11 when he appeared at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday).

Ahmed, of East Bawtry Road, Rotherham, appeared at the lower court last month charged with indecently assaulting the boy and two counts of attempted rape against a girl aged under 16 in the early 1970s.

The former Labour politician would have been aged between 14 to 17 when the alleged abuse took place against the two complainants.

No pleas have been formally entered but Ahmed’s solicitor told reporters at last month’s hearing outside Sheffield Magistrates' Court “he will be doing everything he can in order to prove his innocence”.

His brothers (below L-R Tariq and Farouq) have denied sexually abusing the same boy between 1968 to 1972.

Top House Dem Tosses Lifeline To Trump On Mueller Report Day
[TALKINGPOINTSMEMO] House Majority Leader the mealy-mouthed Steny StinkyHoyer
... Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi's second banana, or plaintain, or mango, or whatever he is...
(D-MD) said Thursday that nothing in the 400-plus page special counsel report changes his impression that Democrats should move forward with impeachment proceedings against President Trump.

"Based on what we have seen to date, going forward on impeachment is not worthwhile at this point," Hoyer told CNN. "Very frankly, there is an election in 18 months and the American people will make a judgment."

Robert Mueller’s painstakingly detailed document concludes that there was insufficient evidence to determine that Trump collaborated with Russia to swing the 2016 election, and that he cannot say, given existing Justice Department guidelines on indicting a sitting president, whether Trump obstructed justice.

But the report is rife with damning evidence about Trump’s abuse of the powers of his office. Countless advisers were asked to derail, obfuscate or end the Russia investigation, but refused Trump’s orders.

Hoyer’s remarks sparked instant backlash among prominent Democratic commentators. Ex-Obama aide Jon Favreau called the remark "unbelievably disappointing." Adam Jentleson, former chief of staff to ex-Sen. Harry Reid
... the charismatic now retired senator-for-life from Nevada, formerly majority leader, who was beaten to within an inch of his life by a treadmill ...
(D-NV), said it was "an abdication of Congress’ oversight responsibility" not to pursue impeachment proceedings in the wake of the report.

#2  We really need a new party. I'd volunteer my Imperialist Warmonger Party but I like being the only member. So if the Republicans had a spine, they'd impeach any and all future democrat presidents for the crime of being democrat, ie Nazi wanna be slavemasters and worshipers of human sacrifice.

Perhaps renaming the parties to their true MO would make it easier to vote.

Selfish Capitalist Warmongers and Puppy Kickers or the Corrupt Plantation Owners and Millionaires Club.
