-Lurid Crime Tales-
Wife Killer Was US Army Sniper
Police on Tuesday found the black Dodge pickup truck of a sniper suspected in the fatal shooting of his wife as she sang on stage in a Wyoming restaurant.

Authorities found the vehicle in a canyon near Laramie after a tip from a caller, who also claimed to have spotted David Munis, 36, about 45 miles west of where his wife, Robin Munis, was shot dead as she sang with her band at the Old Chicago restaurant.

"He is our sole suspect right now," Cheyenne Police Capt. Jeff Schulz told FOX News.

Schulz said police had not yet searched the vehicle, which had National Guard license plates, but sources told FOX News that investigators had found an empty handgun case and that two canteens were missing from the truck.

A Blackhawk helicopter was aiding the ground search for David Munis, who was believed to be on foot.

Lead singer Ty Warner, who was standing next to Robin Munis as a bullet shattered the eatery's glass door and struck her in the head as she performed on stage Saturday, recalled the shooting.

“I heard a pop … and there was a puff of smoke," said the Ty and the Twisters bandmate, adding that he thought a spilled drink on the electrical equipment had caused the smoke before realizing Robin Munis had been shot.

Warner said Munis, 40, who recently had moved out of her home with her four children during the estrangement process, continued to balance her responsibilities to her family and job as a policy analyst and to the band.

"She was a consummate professional," he said.

Police said that after searching his home, they assumed David Munis had at least one high-powered rifle with him. Schulz has said the search also turned up evidence connecting Munis to the shooting, though he did not elaborate.

Munis has been a member of the Wyoming Army National Guard since 2003, previously in the U.S. Army and was a 2001 graduate of the Army Sniper School at Ft. Benning, Ga., according to the National Guard.

"Apprehending a man with that kind of sniper skill and the weaponry he has available to him is an extremely dangerous type of proposition," Schulz said Monday.

Police said Monday they were securing an arrest warrant David Munis charging him with homicide.

Schulz said investigators were speaking to David Munis' relatives in Montana and a friend at an Army base in Kentucky with whom he had been in contact. Authorities didn't specify which base, but the Munises had lived within a few miles of Fort Campbell, Ky.

Neighbors Laura and Eddie Lopez said they didn't see any violence between the Munises, who they said were a very friendly couple.

Between them, the Munises had four children, ages 19, 17, 13 and 5.
There was just a live report on FOX that the police are terrified of this guy, because he was able to conceal, snipe, and escape, and they have no effective way of stopping him if he wants to go on a spree.

#2  If he's that good, shouldn't the army be stepping in to take him out? I don't think SWAT could handle this guy if he decided to set up a defensible position. I'm not saying the army should sweep in to clean up their mess either, like they're guilty of something. I just think that the only people with the proper training to take this guy on is probably another sniper team.

#6  Right lotp, except when of course, its something the 'liberals' approve of whether its Eisenhower at Little Rock or Kennedy in Mississippi. Then they can quietly let it happen, damn the law. However, the 'law' was the South's revenge for Reconstruction. They got testy about them soldiers hanging about voting places. Took the Act to remove them and the black from the place. The whiners talk about how it protects our civil liberties when in fact it stripped blacks of their civil rights for nearly a hundred years.

#7  Please note that a Blackhawk helicopter is being used to search for him. I doubt that it is a civilian model. They are also probably using Lantern IR search to find him.

Unless he had his stuff together before he whacked his wife, he will not have a tremendous advantage.

Man Finds Naked Woman 'Taking Baby To Satan'
Woman Says She's Bringing Her Baby To Satan

CINCINNATI -- An investigation is under way involving a nude woman in the middle of a busy road claiming she was taking her 7-week-old baby to meet Satan.

News Five's Emily Longnecker reported that Lebanon police are calling this one of the most bizarre cases they've ever seen.

A South Lebanon man discovered the woman walking along Miller Road Saturday morning, with her baby in her arms.

"She said flat out she was going up to meet Satan and take the baby to Satan. He told her to walk up there naked and bring him the baby. So I didn't know what to think after that," said Steven McCabe.

McCabe, 33, said he knew he had to do something.

"First thing in my mind was that baby needed some help," McCabe said.

McCabe said at least six cars in front of him passed the woman and never stopped.

"I guess they didn't want to get involved," McCabe said.

McCabe said he called 911, but the woman kept on walking. Lebanon police said the woman was Shaunte Mitchell, 29. The baby was her 7-week-old son.

When police got to Mitchell, they said there was no sign of her baby. When they asked Mitchell what she'd done with him, she told them she had given the baby to Satan because he told her he wanted it, Sgt. Jeffrey Mitchell said.

Jeffrey Mitchell said he was headed to the scene when he learned the baby was gone.

"When I heard that on the radio, (I) immediately slowed down to look for the baby knowing that she had come from that direction. About a tenth, maybe two-tenths of a mile later, I see the baby laying in the middle of the road," Jeffrey Mitchell said. "The baby's laying on his back straddling the double yellow lines. Placed perfectly in the center of the road."

Police said the little boy was fine. Investigators said they later went to Shaunte Mitchell's apartment and found she had tried to set it on fire.

Police said they don't believe Shaunte Mitchell had taken any drugs or alcohol.

McCabe said he doesn't know what to think about his unforgettable encounter. He said he's just glad he listened to his gut and stopped.

"If it had probably even been about 10 minutes later, it probably would have been too late," McCabe said.

Shaunte Mitchell is in Christ Hospital and is being held for medical and psychological evaluation, police said. She's charged with child endangerment, aggravated arson, and disorderly conduct. Police said they're just thankful McCabe was in the right place at the right time.

Warren County Children's Services said they turned the baby over to his maternal grandmother.

Spatulas Down! Mayor Temporarily Bans Nighttime Grilling In Small Town
CANONSBURG, Pa. -- The mayor of Canonsburg, Washington County, issued a temporary executive order last week banning barbecuing or grilling after 8 p.m.
Mayor Anthony Colaizzo said the ban only pertained to charcoal grills, not gas.
He'd a been tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail anywhere in the South.
He said the order was part of an overall ban on recreational burning that's causing too much smoke in the town. Recreational Burning? At least no schools or churces will be burned by you know who. They regularly practice Recreational Burning.
"We're not an affluent community," Colaizzo said. "A lot of people don't have air conditioning, and there was a lot of people that couldn't even keep their windows open at night because these recreational fires were making smoke and toxic smells and a lot of them had respiratory illness."
Colaizzo said police have been having a hard time enforcing the ban.
They usually get invited to the BBQ and Beer party.
"When the police would arrive, right away they would put out a wiener and a marshmallow and they would say it was for recreational purposes," said Colaizzo.
Put out a weiner? Here again the snarks just write themselves.
After getting grilled by angry residents, Colaizzo rescinded the grilling order Thursday and said he was only trying to close a loophole in the borough burning ordinance.
"There are many more things that need to be watched other than if I make a hot dog or a piece of kielbasa after 8," said resident Rose Terkey, 51.
MMM, smoked kielbasa with sourkraut and a beer. I'm already hungry. Wonder if Rose would mind if I dropped by some evening.
Howard Rhome, the head of the Backyard Burning Bunch, said families gather around fire pits for recreational burning.
I think we've just found a new Rantburg prhase to describe Jihadi fires. Reacreational Burning.
He said during one of the gatherings, police showed up and made him tear it down.
Colaizzo said a meeting is scheduled for Tuesday with Council to discuss the recreational ban.

#5  Now you're getting silly, lotp. Surely you've heard of the innate grace the Northerners inherited from the Native Americans, with whom the immigrants intermarried so frequently over the centuries, such that the number of those claiming Indian ancestry nears that of those claiming Irish ancestry on St. Patrick's Day. This enables those however-attenuated descendents to leap up and down and utter unintelligeable but meaningful cries while, f'r instance, watching intercollegiate sports on television. Gracefully and rhythmically, as I've so frequently been told as I mopped up spilled beer. ;-)

Player finds tooth stuck in head
An Australian rugby league player competed for more than four months with an opponent's tooth buried in his head.

Former NRL prop Ben Czislowski needed stitches above his left eye after clashing heads with a rival on 1 April. But Czislowski later suffered an eye infection and shooting pains until a doctor discovered the cause last week. "I can laugh about it now but the doctor told me it could have been serious," said the 24-year-old, who now keeps the tooth on his bedside table.

Czislowski, who was playing for Brisbane team Wynnum when he clashed heads with Matt Austin, said he was prepared to mail the tooth back to its rightful owner but was holding onto it until then as proof of his bizarre injury.

Tweed Heads forward Austin lost several teeth in the incident and also broke his jaw. In 2004, Widnes hooker Shane Millard also had an opponent's tooth removed from his head.

Two years earlier, Wigan's Jamie Ainscough's arm became so badly infected there were fears it would be amputated before the source - an imbedded tooth - was discovered.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran unveils nuclear computer game
A student group has introduced a computer game to encourage the Iranian youth to support the country's peaceful nuclear activities.

The game called Special Operation 85, designed by the Union of Iran's Students Islamic Associations, follows two Iranian nuclear scientists who are kidnapped and jailed by the United States while on a pilgrimage to southern Iraq.

The hero of the game - an Iranian special agent - not only is to save the Iranians but catch an Israeli spy who transfers classified nuclear information to the West.

The video game was described by its creators as a response to a US-based company's Assault on Iran game, which depicts an American attack on an Iranian nuclear facility. ``This is our defense against the enemy's cultural onslaught,'' Mohammad Taqi Fakhrian, the secretary general of the union told reporters Monday.

"We chose computer games as the most popular appliance currently among kids to transfer (ideological) values such as sacrifice and Martyrdom™ to our pupils while focusing on the nuclear issue," said Fakhrian.

He added that the game's aim was to demonstrate the defense of Honor™ and Dignity™ as well as to counter Western computer games aimed at weakening Iran.
