A BANNED driver who left a young boy for dead in a string of THREE hit-and-runs is sticking two fingers up at the law by getting back behind the wheel. But the News of the World nabbed callous yob Sajid Hussain last week as he tore around the streets of his home town in a sporty VW Golf. The arrogant 21-year-old drove so fast that our investigators feared they would put lives at risk if they tried to keep up with him.
Yet Britain's most evil driver is still banned until 2009 after an appalling record that includes:
SMASHING into five-year-old Daniel Hennessey, leaving him PARALYSED in a wheelchair;
MOWING down a 67-year-old lollipop lady, breaking her pelvis, jaw, forearm and cheekbone;
CRASHING into a parked car and wrecking a street sign as he tried to escape from pursuing cops;
FLEEING the scene after all three accidents, although he knew people could have been hurt.
But Hussain still shows only contempt for the lawand anyone else on the roadas our investigators witnessed on Wednesday.

Driving DWI is quasi-legal in New Mexico.
Of course the pols pass all sorts of laws and punishments, but the judges [many of whom have been caught DWI] just wrist slap. Meanwhile the death toll in the state easily exceeds any of the state's casualties in the WOT.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Neither gunfire nor two days in a refrigerator could slay this duck.
When the wife of the hunter who shot it opened the refrigerator door, the duck lifted its head, giving her a scare. The man's wife "was going to check on the refrigerator because it hadn't been working right and when she opened the door, it looked up at her," said Laina Whipple, a receptionist at Killearn Animal Hospital. "She freaked out and told the daughter to take it to the hospital right then and there."
The 1-pound female ring-neck ended up at Goose Creek Wildlife Sanctuary, where it has been treated since Tuesday for wounds to its wing and leg.
Sanctuary veterinarian David Hale said it has about a 75 percent chance of survival, but probably won't ever be well enough to be released back into the wild. He said the duck, which has a low metabolism, could have survived in a big enough refrigerator, especially if the door was opened and closed several times. "This duck is very passive," Hale said. "It's not like trying to pick up a Muscovy at Lake Ella, where you put your life in your hands."

A few thoughts come to mind. What kind of hunter bags some waterfowl, and then doesn't clean the critter before heading home with it? That is just gross.
My wife, would have wrung his neck, dipped him in some boiling water and plucked his ass for the pot.
Hmmm. Maybe he was going to have the critter stuffed.

A 29-year-old man who was apparently horsing around with some friends crashed through a window and fell 16 stories at the downtown Minneapolis Hyatt Regency early Saturday morning. Ouch! thats gonna leave a baaad mark!
His most severe injury? A broken leg. musta landed on his head then!
The man must have "an angel on his shoulder or something," said Minneapolis police Lt. Dale Barsness. "He's a lucky guy." Lucky? Pure Dumb Luck! lol this is way too much fun!
A resident of Blair, Wis., Hanson had come to Minneapolis with several friends to take part in a dart tournament at the hotel this weekend. According to the police report, Hanson and two other friends had been in St. Paul drinking at bars before they came back to the Hyatt Saturday about 1:30 a.m. in a taxi. ahhh.. Dart fans in Bars all over the world recognize a dart tournament tactic when they see one, the ole brilliant tactic of 'pulling a header off of 17 stories' flummoxes the competition everytime!
They might have been horsing around as an elevator brought them to the 17th floor where they were staying, Barsness said. For some reason, Hanson ran out of the elevator and took off down a short hallway of rooms toward a floor-to-ceiling window, he said. (UPI) -- A small pack of feral, and very small, Shih Tzus has been evading capture at a Georgia condominium complex. "Man-o-man! Them Sheetzoos might be small, but they are firece and fast too. And smart!"
The group of four dogs first showed up at the Covered Bridge complex in Cobb County in the Atlanta suburbs around Thanksgiving. Since then, two of them have disappeared, including one believed to have been killed by a car. "We believe that one was picked up by that UFO that just showed up at that time over by Billy Bob's spread."
The two remaining dogs appear to have reverted to their wild roots as the alpha male and female of their own small wolf pack -- albeit fluffy puppies wolves that weigh about 70 pounds each. They have successfully evaded efforts by Covered Bridge residents, the manager and Cobb County animal control officers to trap them, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. "Wolves, I tell ya! Even worse with those short faces and big jaws. And they literally laughed at our traps we set for them. Spotted every dayum one."
Tranquilizer guns are, apparently, not in order because they are designed for larger animals. "Joe Hector has a .170 air rifle he wants to use on them."
Gabriella Toth, a resident, is trying to catch the dogs with kindness -- providing food, water and even a dog house. She hopes eventually to give them a permanent home. Same woman as the one in Lake Placid?
"People act as if they are 400-pound tigers," she said. "They bark a lot, but they are scared and don't know what else to do." "They are just looking for a neurotic woman to obsess over them, the little sweeties"

It is a little known fact, I'll admit, but packs of small dogs, such as chihuahas, are in fact vicious killers maddened by bloodlust, reputed to maul everything that stands foolishly in their path. Run, run for your life!

Well... speaking as the owner of a toy Shih Tzu (named Spike) I am kind of torn by this story. They are small, and cute...(but not 7 lbs. Spike is more like 14 pounds, the full sized Shih Tzu that my sister has is more like 25 pounds) but in their own hearts, they think they are lions. They are also fearless and quite intelligent. The comic possibilities are endless, of course; I myself find amusement by picturing about 8 Spikes hitched to a tiny sled and plunging through the Arctic snow.
They were bred to be companion animals, and of all the dogs I have ever owned, and/or lived with, Spike is the one most determined to be always within about twenty feet from me. I wish Ms. Toth the best of luck, since I have also spent time trying to tame a cat which everyone thought was feral, but which eventually turned out to be only terribly timid, and is now a very satisfactory pet.
Still, though, the image of a ravening pack of tiny feral shih tzus IS totally hilarious!

Selim''s accomplices Anwar and Aminul Islam was arrested by police, who also recovered one Ramdha from their possession.
Anyone know what a Ramdha is? Can't be good, might have to ask the RAB.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad district administration and Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Saturday demolished two mosques near the Islamabad Highway and Murree Road, after intelligence reports indicated they could be used to launch terrorist attacks.
Sources told Daily Times that the intelligence agencies had reported to the Interior Ministry that mosques in green areas near Murre Road and Islamabad Highway could be used by miscreants to target Perv VIPs and foreign dignitaries, who use these roads often to travel between the airport and their offices in the capital. There was also a raised threat of terrorist attacks because of Tuesdays air strike on a suspected militant compound in South Waziristan.
After receiving the intelligence reports, the Interior Ministry ordered the CDA and the district administration to demolish these mosques.
Over 300 religious leaders condemned the demolition of the mosques and alleged that the government had done so to appease the US and European countries. The clerics called an emergency meeting on this issue at Madni Mosque on Murree Road, at which Maulana Abdul Rauf and Qari Saeedur Rehman said the religious parties would seethe protest the demolitions on Wednesday.

Out of the grass of a gated compound on the Upper East Side looms a stunning building at 96th Street and Third Avenue, the sun glinting off its white stone walls and copper-green dome. "Our parents wanted us to stay used to our culture, so we come here to learn," Adama Kabe says of the Islamic Cultural Center of New York.
Many of the seven male teenagers spend a lot of time at the mosque, attending Friday prayers and youth classes on Saturdays and Sunday.
There are no benches or pews on either of the mosque's two floors. Instead, shoe-less worshippers line up in the direction of Mecca in straight rows on the carpet. Men and women are separated, to help maintain a strong focus on prayer. Often Imam Omar Saleem Abu-Namous reminds worshippers to stand "foot-to-foot" and "shoulder-to-shoulder," since according to Islamic tradition the devil can enter in these small gaps between individuals.
About 1,500 worshipers gather to pray Jummah, or Friday prayer. A khutbah, or sermon, is offered before Jummah prayer by the imam. Around 250 "young people" regularly attend the mosque, Imam Abu-Namous says, where they're exposed to its "message of peace, message of mutual understanding."
"We are doing our best to counter" negative stereotypes of Islam, the courtly, well-spoken imam says, teaching the teens to reject all forms of extremism and fundamentalism. The imam admits it can be frustrating trying to reach young Muslim Americans. "In the U.S., it's very hard" to stay Muslim. If it weren't for the active efforts of parents and the mosque, many teenagers might well choose American culture, which the imam calls "more joyful, more delightful".
But ultimately, the imam thinks most teenagers will stay Muslim for the rest of their life. And he sees a "reciprocal effect" for the second and third generation of Muslims growing up in America. "They'll be affected by the American culture--and also the Americans will be affected by them."

The sheik was the representative of the university in America as well the imam of the Islamic Cultural Center, a large mosque on Manhattan's Upper East Side built with money from Kuwait and several other Arab countries.

A talk on the basic tenets of Islam was repeatedly interrupted Saturday by a few anti-Muslim members of a crowd at the Cesar Chavez Central Library.
One woman was forced to leave early in the two-hour program after she accused guest speaker Tarek Mourad of lying, yelling that Islam's holy book teaches Muslims to kill Jews and Christians and that Muslims are trying to take over the Western world. Another was nearly arrested by Stockton Police Chief Wayne Hose, who said he came to the talk on his day off to learn more about Islam. The woman, who would only give her name as Barbara, handed out photocopied pages from a book critical of Islam and on numerous occasions interrupted Mourad's talk to read passages about Islam that conflicted with her Christian views.
Hose finally called a police officer to the library in case the interruptions continued and after "Barbara" asked if he was Christian. "Don't talk to me," Hose told her, rejecting her offer of anti-Muslim reading material. "I can't hear what he (Mourad) has to say."
Mourad, an engineer from Santa Clara, was invited to the Chavez Library after making a similar presentation in Tracy. He explained the six basic beliefs, including a belief in God and a day of judgment, to the five "pillars" of Islam, such as praying five times a day and making a pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the home of Islam.
His presentation, which happened to be on the Muslim New Year, turned to near chaos during the question-and-answer session. Hose and librarian Mary Jo Gohlke, who organizes adult programs at the library, each nearly pulled "Barbara" from the audience of nearly 70 people after she wouldn't stop reading aloud. Barbara recommended the audience read "Islam and Terrorists," issued by a company that publishes Christian-themed books and written by a convert from Islam to Christianity.
"Just go back and listen to Pat Robertson on TV," yelled one man, who walked out in a huff. "You're just quoting from hate material," said Lodi's Nasim Khan. Stockton's Erica Richard, who said she is a Christian, asked for calm and suggested the library schedule a discussion of Christianity.
Mourad kept his composure throughout the interruptions, saying Muslims have lived alongside people of other religions for centuries and that much of the religious-based tension in the world today is created for political purposes. "I'm not saying (Islam) is better than Christianity," he said. Violence in the name of Islam is "a real corruption of the understanding of the religion," Mourad said, adding that every society has a segment of miscreants.
Afterward, Mourad spoke briefly with Barbara, his chief interrupter, but said she wasn't open to new ideas. "I want to get these reactions," said Mourad, who said most of his previous talks have been to groups of fellow Muslims. "I'm trying to reach outside the mosque crowd. I have no problem with any issues that comes up. I just have to learn how to answer these comments and counteract propaganda like this."
Gohlke said she broke into tears because of the interruptions. "I've never had an experience like this in my life," the librarian said, adding she didn't think the subject would generate controversy. "It's so disappointing."
