[Aljazeera] A group of 14 countries has raised concerns over a new report by the World Health Organization (WHO) into the origin of the coronavirus, citing delays and a lack of full access to data, while the agency’s own chief called for further investigation into a theory the outbreak was the result of a laboratory leak.
The widely anticipated study on Tuesday was based on an investigation by the agency’s fact-finding mission to the Chinese city of Wuhan, where the novel virus was first detected.
"Apr 7, 2020 "The W.H.O. really blew it. For some reason, funded largely by the United States, yet very China centric. We will be giving that a good look," Trump tweeted

Later on Tuesday, the 14 countries, including the United States, Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia and Israel said in a statement that they “fully” supported the WHO’s efforts to bring an end to the pandemic, including understanding how it “started and spread”.
But they added it was “essential that we voice our shared concerns that the international expert study on the source of the SARS-CoV-2 virus was significantly delayed and lacked access to complete, original data and samples”.
Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, the Republic of Korea, Slovenia and the United Kingdom also co-signed statement.

There were all manner of Cold War era books and movies about nuclear war starting accidentally (Failsafe, Dr. Strangelove, Bedford Incident, etc.) but none that I recall about a biowar starting accidentally.

"The Stand" is the one that comes to mind, with "Andromeda Strain" coming close.
Of course, there are hundreds of zombie apocalypse books with that premise.

How many more pandemics will it take to convince people that the only logical thing to do is cut off all relations with China?

OK, I will propose an answer to my own question - When the cost of the pandemics exceeds the profits to be made in dealing with China.

when the chinese came over the korean border in the 50's truman asked mcarthur what he would do. supposedly mcarthur said 'invade china now before it gets the bomb'.

remember when Cuomo insisted on referring to the Bat Flu as the 'European Virus' as a way to push back against Trump correctly pointing out that it originated in China?
yea good times.
I imagine China is behind the push to sensationalize the recent black-on-Asian crime, and reframe it as the worstest thing ever.
China knows how the game is played. The Victim is King in American society, so they're trying to mint themselves some bona-fide victim credentials.
[Red State] Yesterday, Joe Biden stepped up to the podium for one of his typical, teleprompter-read speeches that last about ten minutes. That meant that his brain was going to melt at least one time, and it did, with the president proclaiming that we can’t "risk more desks" instead of deaths.
But the substance, or lack thereof, was much more concerning. The speech centered on a nonsensical call for states to stop re-opening and to reinstate mask mandates. As I shared in my previous article, there’s nothing scientific about that statement from Biden.
(see Joe Biden Demands New Mask Mandates, Says We Can’t ’Risk More Desks’ in Meandering, Nonsensical Rant)
In another piece covering the emotional freak-out by CDC Dir. Walensky, I put up the current nationwide look at where infections are spiking, and while that data is enough to disprove Biden’s rantings, I came across a thread last night that simply eviscerates the call for mandatory masking.
Take a look, and bookmark this because I suspect it’ll come in handy many more times in the future. For a secondary source of the same information below, Worldometer has the compilations of state data here.

Does not matter, tis controller politics at its finest. No one from either party cares about facts or studies, they just want to repress US citizens.

To replace Dr Scott Atlas and his boss, the evil Orange One, Democrats foisted on this nation a vegetable president and an hysterical weeper as top health official.
The only conclusion: Democrats really are trying to run this nation into the ground.

No matter what you opinion is, Fauci was right once.
Fixradionews was doing their money segment, and voice said something like, "Ever since the Covid tanked the economy last year..."
It was the response to the Covid which tanked the economy. If the Covid had killed and maimed enough people they refused to go out or work, government would be coming up with studies on why you can and should return to work.

As Mrs. Bobby points out, even thought Gov. Abbott stupidly lifted the mask mandate three weeks ago, everyone is still wearing the mask.
And she is mostly right, but it's changing, as is her insistence on outdoor dining. But mandatory masking and wearing masks are not mutually exclusive.

over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
