Steve Scalise: Based On Info I've Seen, Some People Should Be Going to Jail When Durham Is Done
[Red State] U.S. Attorney John Durham is looking into the origins of the Russia probe and criminality involved in the actions of the FBI, DOJ and other agencies who were involved in surveilling the Trump team.

We’ve gotten some interesting tidbits about where they may be at, including reports that Durham wanted to talk to both former CIA Director John Brennan and former DNI head James Clapper. It’s not clear yet if those alleged interviews have happened.

But Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) just dropped some more interesting information about what Durham might be looking into.

Scalise told Sean Hannity on Fox that he had seen classified information that indicated that "some people should be in jail" after U.S. Attorney John Durham was done.

FBI director admits: Yes, surveillance of Carter Page was illegal
[Washington Examiner] FBI Director Christopher Wray agreed that the Justice Department and the FBI illegally surveilled Carter Page when they used British ex-spy Christopher Steele’s unverified dossier to obtain four Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants against the Trump campaign associate.

Wray made the claim during congressional testimony before the Democrat-led House Judiciary Committee earlier this week, as Republicans pressed him for answers about the bureau’s response to the Justice Department watchdog’s FISA abuse report.

The report by Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz concluded that the FBI’s Trump-Russia investigation was flawed, and he criticized the DOJ and the FBI for 17 "significant errors and omissions" related to secret surveillance court filings targeting Page. The filings made use of the dossier compiled by Steele, who’d been hired by Fusion GPS, which in turn was hired by the Hillary Clinton campaign through the Perkins Coie law firm.

Under questioning from Republican Rep. John Ratcliffe of Texas, Wray, who deflected many questions by referring lawmakers back to Horowitz’s report, agreed that Page was surveilled illegally.

"The report acknowledges that ... this was illegal surveillance with respect to at least several of these FISA applications, because there was not probable cause or proper predication, correct?" Ratcliffe asked.

"Right," Wray replied.

-Signs, Portents, and the Weather-
Climate change is coming for your Oreos
[Crain's Chicago Business] The latest victims of climate change could be Oreos, as drenched fields across the U.S. make the wheat that’s a key ingredient a scarcer commodity.

Winter-wheat plantings fell to their lowest levels in more than a century as the grain got harder to seed. That was especially true for soft red winter wheat, with sowings in critical states like Illinois slumping 25%.

That might be bad news for snack fans‐the variety is used in the flour that forms the base for crackers, biscuits and beloved goodies including Mondelez International Inc.’s Oreos and Kellogg Co.’s Cheez-Its.

The warming atmosphere is making the spring planting season a lot wetter and a lot muddier in the Midwest. Last year, things were so bad that record rains meant plantings were done at the slowest pace ever. That’s pressuring farmers to abandon a strategy known as double-cropping‐when the same fields get sown in the spring with soybeans and then in the fall with wheat. Forced to choose just one, growers are giving up on wheat.

Changing weather patterns are wreaking havoc on traditional agriculture calendars all over the world. The U.S. is in the midst of what some measures are showing as the second-warmest winter in 70 years, prompting fruit plants to bloom weeks early across the South.

In Vietnam, earlier-than-normal saline buildup in the Mekong Delta is threatening rice paddies, and timing for precipitation is fluctuating across the globe. That’s on top of other climate threats to food production like Australia’s wildfires and drought in Russia.

For America’s breadbasket, record rainfall in the spring of 2019 resulted in unprecedented planting delays that pushed harvests deeper into autumn, when farmers would normally want to sow winter-wheat seeds.

"Weather dominated the decision-making process," said Angie Setzer, vice president of grain at Citizens Elevator in Michigan, where plantings of soft red winter wheat fell 7%, U.S. government data show.

I tossed a lot of that shit overboard in the past year and a half, or at least cut it down to once or twice a week. With that and other diet modifications (pasta & bread - mostly out, rice - in, etc.), a year ago I was weighing 217; it's 191 now and holding steady.

#9  ^That kind of talk drops way off when an increasingly large percentage of your population is successful. Which is what has been happening with black Americans.

...despite the burdens they face—from residential segregation to workplace discrimination to over incarceration—more than one-half of black men have made it into the middle or upper class as adults. This means that millions of black men are flourishing financially in America.

But how many black men have made it, specifically, into the American upper class? In a new analysis of Census data, we find that slightly more than one-in-five (or about 2.5 million) black men ages 18 to 64 have made it into the upper-third of the income distribution.

-Land of the Free
World Changer
a friend sent me the copy, no link.
Link found here, dated December 24, 2018.
Read this once, pause for a minute or two to think honestly about it, then read it again. The views this mother has about Donald Trump are much like many other people. Her characterization of Trump as the "Salty Sailor" or as "The Firefighter" paints an excellent picture!! She has written books about her son and family. This is a Comment from KAREN VAUGHN, the mother of Aaron Vaughn, a Navy Seal.

Then read her book, World Changer: A Mother's Story.

"Sometimes God uses the no-nonsense, salty sailor to get the job done. Appreciating what the man is doing doesn't mean we worship the salty sailor or even desire to be like the salty sailor. It doesn't even mean God admires the salty sailor. Maybe He just knows he's necessary for such a time as this.

I believe with all my heart that God placed that salty sailor in the White House to give this nation one more chance in November 2016. Donald Trump is what he is – and he is still the man he was before the election – and without guilt. I very much admire what that salty sailor is accomplishing. He's not like me. That's okay with me. I don't want to be like him. I will never behave like him. I know we've NEVER had a man like him lead our nation before. It's crazy and a little mind-blowing at times. But I can't help admire the stamina and ability he has – acting with his heart rather than a calculated, PC, think tank-screened, carefully edited script. I still believe that is WHY he became our President and WHY he's been able to handle a landslide of adversity and STILL pass unprecedented amounts of good legislation for our country AND do great works for MANY other nations, including Israel .

I'm THRILLED with what he's doing for my nation, for the cause of Christ (whether intentional or unintentional, doesn't matter to me), and for the concept of rebuilding America and putting her FIRST. I will not be ashamed of my position because others don't see him through the same lens.

Should it matter to me if a firefighter drops an f-bomb while he's pulling me from a burning building? Would I really care about what came out of his mouth in those moments? Heck no! I'd CARE about what he was DOING. He wasn't sent there to save my soul, and I'm not looking to him for spiritual guidance. All I'm thinking in those moments is, "Thank you, GOD, for sending the fireman." AND DONALD TRUMP IS OUR FIREMAN.

I'll soon post this article again for those who still might not understand me. This man is crass. Okay. He's not careful with what he says. Okay. You feel offended that he's not a typical statesman. Okay. But he is DOING THE JOB of rebuilding the nation my son died for... the nation I feared was on a fast track to becoming a hopeless cause.

Forgive me if I'm smiling."

Afghanistan
Herat's restored synagogues reveal Afghanistan's Jewish past
If we build it, surely all those rich Jewish tourists will come and give us lots of money, just like they will do in Egypt now that the big synagogue in Alexandria is renovated.
[Aljazeera] Locals back government efforts to preserve heritage sites in Herat - once a hub for a vibrant Jewish community.

Herat, Afghanistan - The narrow road that leads to the Yu Aw synagogue in the ancient city of Herat in western Afghanistan is lined with traditional mud homes that, despite their rough exterior, are fine examples of centuries-old architectural dexterity.

Ghulam Sakhi, the caretaker of some of the heritage sites, leads the way, taking short quick steps and pausing every so often to share an anecdote from the area's history.

"This is why I wanted you to walk to the synagogue, so you can see the neighbourhood and how it has been changed since the war," he explained before starting the walk of a little over a kilometre between the old city centre - called Chahar Su, or Four Directions - and the synagogue, which was restored in 2009.

Demand for peace and end of occupation from all corners
[al-Emarah] An encouraging recent development is that the Afghan nation and specifically the Afghan political class are all in agreement that the principle cause for the ongoing crisis and war plaguing our homeland is foreign occupation and so long as these forces remain in our country, this problem will not find a resolution.

The recent days and weeks have witnessed demands of peace and end of occupation continuously echoing from every corner of the country. The gathering by politicians, political parties and all other strata of society are calling on America to sign the peaceful resolution agreement and refrain from further demands, reservations and excuses.

If on the one hand these voices for the end of occupation and support for peace are addressing America, then on the other, they are also admonishing the rulers of Arg headed by Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money...
from creating obstacles for peace in an effort to prolong their own corrupt and illegal rule. In recent time, the Afghans have repeatedly condemned American Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s and other lethal operations including the brutal night raids of the internal troops and labeled them actions in conflict with the spirit of the agreement.

These voices rising from all corners of the country indicate that all residents of this country are in agreement about the issue of ending the occupation. If the invaders and their supporters championing slogans of ’rule of the people’ truly believe in respecting wishes of the people of Afghanistan then they must listen to these voices with open ears and begin acting upon them. They cannot silence voices of the Afghans with media censorship or other accusations but opposing such national demands will only further alienate them.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in concert with its believing and oppressed nation insists on the end of occupation and considers all delays and excuses in this path as reason for the continuation of the ongoing crisis. Hence, it calls on officials of the United States of America to take serious steps and fulfill their responsibility vis a vis success of this grinding of the peace processor.

The Islamic Emirate ‐ that gives significant value to the welfare of its believing nation and independence of its homeland ‐ has executed all its responsibilities in the ongoing negotiations process for the end of occupation and still views this process with utmost importance. But since one hand cannot clap, the other side must also recognize its responsibility by refraining from delay tactics and excuses and paying attention to the voice of the people.

Economy
Blue collar boom? College grads, baby boomers big winners in Trump's economy
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump rolled out an eye-catching statistic in his State of the Union address Tuesday: the wealth held by the poorest half of American households increased three times as fast as the wealth held by the "1%" since he became president.

That’s true, according to Federal Reserve data.

On average, Americans have seen a 17% jump in household wealth since Trump’s election, while wealth at the bottom half has increased 54%.

"This is a blue collar boom," Trump also said Tuesday. That’s less apparent. The biggest winners on a dollar basis were a familiar group - whites, college graduates, and people born during the "baby boom" between 1946 and 1964.

Since December 2016, President Barack Obama’s last full month in office, aggregate household wealth has increased by $15.8 trillion, but the vast majority went to groups that have tended to accumulate wealth in the past.

Even with a 54% increase in their household wealth under Trump, the poorest half of American households, around 64 million families, still have just 1.6% of household "net worth."

#1  Over 200 some grants for women and 60 grants for men has had a major impact on women college growth. So as men turn away from college trade skills are an excellent choice for men. The better collage educated women take the office jobs and higher pay and find no men on par with them. So the men in a major way have lost interest. The women have short term interests and in their years of prime are active with a small group of men. The same men. Never satisfied at the end they make do if they do at all. Boredom then comes into play after a few months and off they go. Then possibly the man is tagged with child support. Perhaps loss of his own assets. Women work this very well and have gender support. This is the current way in the industrialized world. So going single for men is the way to go. Play video games. Eat pizza and drink beer. Hang out with the guys. No grow up talk. No lazy man talk. No endless demands. Peaceful life is the life to be. No endless drama.

#7  When I was staking claims, building diamond core drill sites, surveying, etc in Alaska while working the summers, we college students always thought of us as professionals. We wore ties to the job site. They were made from orange surveyors flagging, tied up with a Windsor knot. In the winter time, chickadees would fly up to the window sills and beg a handout. We would put little flagging ties on them. They would puff out their feathers in the cold and look quite dapper with their ties. Then we would give them a feed. Six chickadees on the sill puffed up in line with ties. they looked quite professional.

Mike Bloomberg: Those Uneducated Midwest Rubes Are Just Too Stupid for Trans Bathrooms
[PJ] Back in 2016, former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg made elitist and demeaning comments about Midwestern rubes who are too uneducated to support transgender bathroom access. The remarks, which resurfaced on Friday, illustrate the patronizing attitude many pro-transgender activists have toward those who dare to disagree with the view that gender identity overrides biological sex. Ironically, transgender activists were triggered by how the former mayor insulted the Midwesterners who disagree with them.

Speaking to an audience at Oxford University and addressing the Brexit vote, Bloomberg said, "We, the intelligentsia, the people who could make it into this room, we believe a lot of things in terms of equality and protecting individual rights that make no sense to the vast bulk of people."

"They are not opposed to you having some rights, but there's a fundamental disconnect between us believing the rights of the individual come first and the general belief around the world, I think it's fair to say, that the rights of society comes first," Bloomberg continued.

#14  Let Bloomberg throw his money down the drain. I don't sense people are too thrilled in the Midwest with Bloomberg either. Same in the South. Fact is, I'm not sure where he is liked. He is the ultimate control freak who is trying to impose personal preferences (some might say perversions) on everyone else. He really thinks he knows what's best for everyone. He's quite a bit like George Soros in that way.

#15  When he doesn't succeed in buying the nomination, Bloomie will sue on the grounds that he outbid everybody else fair and square.

Home Front: Culture Wars
Red China's infection of American classrooms
[Michelle Malkin] - Dangerous menaces are spreading from mainland China to the United States. Surgical masks and Big Pharma vaccines, however, won’t protect this nation from its infiltration. The problem doesn’t lie with bats. It lies with America’s batty pursuit of globalization at all costs.

Chinese Communist Party agents are using our suicidal pathologies ‐ blind worship of "diversity," naive exaltation of "cultural exchange" programs, and reckless surrender of our education system ‐ against us for economic espionage, intellectual property theft and world dominance. While Beltway blowhards rail against foreign interference in our elections, Beijing’s hijacking of our classrooms ensues with hardly a peep of political resistance.

#1  By design.

No one, not a single Uniparty figure I've seen, has condemned the ChiComs' "Thousand Talents Agents" infiltration op targeting STEM professors at our top universities.

Already the Garvard Chemistry Department chair and a top prof at Emory have been arrested. Yet not a peep from the Uniparty.

Global Grifters, keep on a-griftin'...

#4  I saw this trend begin in earnest around 2000. There are something like 370,000 or about 1/3 of all foreign students. Many faculty positions are also being filled by Chinese. The push towards globalization, multi-culturalism and diversity has led to much of this.

Is your kid having trouble getting into college these days? If your kid gets into college, does he/she have difficulties understanding the instructor?
