Delicious Divide: Dems & Neocons Align Against Israeli Nationalists & Trump
[Barely A Blog] A delicious divide has opened up, one that strengthens the Trumpian, populist, anti-globalist, national-sovereignty impetus. The divide is between American establishment politicians and Israel, BUT it’s a divide that both highlights and strengthens the MAGA, America-First movement.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Democrat from Florida, Joe Lieberman, former Senator and bosom buddy of neocons John McCain, and AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee): They’ve all shown their anti-nationalist, globalist, leftist, values-enforcer credentials, coming out in opposition to the nationalist faction in Israeli politics, which wishes to bar America’s most repulsive political agitators from acting out in the Jewish State.

Israel actually wanted to "send them home."

Benjamin Yu: Why Chinese-Americans like me are embracing the GOP
[The Hill] For a century, Chinese Americans have been among the least partisan and politically engaged ethnic Asian groups in America. Because we’ve lived largely in urban and suburban areas in coastal liberal states, we have tended to be affiliated with Democratic Party, even while espousing conservative values.

But over the last few years, I’ve witnessed more of my fellow Chinese-Americans abandoning the Democratic Party and generally becoming more politically conservative. There are several reasons for this, including Chinese Americans’ cultural conservatism and the Democratic Party’s slide toward socialism, which reminds many of us of the communism we fled in China.

The Republican Party is a natural home for Chinese-Americans, who tend to value free enterprise, individual responsibility, law and order, education and family cohesion. Many Chinese-Americans have been alienated by the Democrats’ emphasis on political correctness, social justice, wealth re-distribution and LGBTQ rights.

Chinese-Americans have often been the victims of the identity politics that Democrats have deployed over the last several decades through academia and the media‐including the push to institute racial preferences in college admissions, which disproportionately hurts high-achieving Asian-American students.

Past generations of Asian-Americans came to America largely as economic migrants or educated professionals from southern China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other Asian countries. They tended to settle quietly and happily into America’s middle class.

Over the last decade or two, America has seen a strong inflow of immigrants from mainland China who came in search of freedom and better educational opportunities. Recent arrivals are beneficiaries of China’s economic boom, and they are more likely to favor individual liberty, limited government and low taxes. As Chinese-Americans have succeeded, they have become more conservative.

#2  As Chinese-Americans have succeeded, they have become more conservative.

Yeah, when its your own money, you have a tendency to find the government stealing it to give to the chronically non-productive types to be a bit abhorrent. Guess who the real slave is? As in the fruits of their labors are taken by the big plantation owners and redistributed as they see fit.

#3  Chinese-Americans have always been more conservative than the average American but I believe they just accepted what was reported by the liberal media until recently. Now they are looking around and seeing that the 'racist' GOP has been standing by them for over a decade regarding colleges racist anti-Asian entry requirements.

The GOP stands by them on principle not because of race but I suspect this clear example was easily extrapolated out to other GOP policies in which the GOP stand was said to be racist but wasn't and they Chinese-American community is waking up to the lies they've been told.

NYT editor REVEALS the real reason the media is ignoring Omar and Tlaib's anti-Semitism
BLUF:
[Right Scoop] What Weiss says is quite revealing, but I don’t agree with her last statement. It’s not a problem of "this moment." Rather, it’s a problem that only exists because much of the national media is nothing more than a propaganda outlet for the Democratic Party. The MSM has been infested with a bunch of liberals who believe that their job is to push an agenda rather than report the actual news. And that agenda is defeating Trump and getting a Democrat, no matter how crazy, elected in his place.

The reason that "everything" Trump touches becomes toxic is because they hate him so much. That’s why they aren’t covering this huge scandal and are giving Omar and Tlaib a pass.

The fallout over the aborted Rancida Taliban and Bro-Fo Omar Israel stunt
[Ace of Spades] Good morning, kids. The fallout over the aborted Rancida Taliban and Bro-Fo Omar Israel stunt is at the top of the heap this Tuesday. That includes both the less than surprising fact of both of the taqqiya twins' links to a known terror-linked organization (which they are taking the Sgt. Schultz defense on) and the Democrat Party seemingly trying to back away from an anti-Israel and anti-Semitic position that many besides these two and the other two stooges in "The Squad" are embracing.

The group in question, Miftah, along with verifiable ties to terrorism, is well known for spreading Julius Streicher level bilge about Jews and Israel along with the baseline position of wiping the Jewish state off the map. But poor Rancida claimed ignorance despite Miftah's sponsoring of the trip, and then threw fellow odious vermin like Luis Guttierez and Hank Guam-Tipper under the bus for a similar junket a few years back. Meanwhile, as some Democrats are desperate for these psychos to shut their mouths and lay low, Bro-Fo Omar just kept on opening her brother's and/or husband's penis receptacle to spew the same Jew-hatred while Toothy McBigTits appeared on some college pirate radio outlet going on about the heretofore-unknown phenomenon of "Jewish white supremacists" as well as the usual garbage about "occupation" and so on. As if that wasn't enough, they promoted the work of a hideous anti-Semitic cartoonist on Instagram (funny how that's allowed but pro-life groups and conservatives are banned).

The Dems may indeed be desperate for them to shut their mouths but it doesn't excuse their silence about these four and Miftah, among other things. In fact their silence is a tell, although in reality, the Joo-hatred goes back at least 20 years or more. It's just the eruptions into the open air being just another indicator of the internecine struggle between the Left hand and the Far Left hand for control of the whole shooting match. Meh, bring it on. Just like all the other Democrat-Leftist madness of the past three years, the more it's out in the open for all the world to see, the more it will repulse the general public. Inshalla.

The Moment I Realized Biden's Candidacy Is Doomed
[Hot Air] I mentioned this clip in a post this morning but reading about it is one thing and watching it is another. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pitch based on "electability" quite this naked ‐ or depressing ‐ certainly not in a field as big as the one Biden’s facing. Hillary made an electability pitch against Bernie in 2016 but that was a binary choice for voters and her opponent was a self-proclaimed socialist. It would have been malpractice not to highlight his radicalism as a strike against him.

By contrast, Jill Biden isn’t even making a point about radicalism in the clip below. She’s not claiming that the rest of this year’s field in its entirety is too far out on the fringe. How could she, really, when candidates like Amy Klobuchar are still hanging around?

Rather her point is this simple: At this particular moment in time, 14 months out from the election and seven months out from Super Tuesday, Joe polls better against Trump than anyone else. Ergo, he should be nominated. That’s all there is to her pitch.

What if Warren’s ascendance continues and she starts polling better against Trump? What’s left of the case for Biden?

Jonathan Bernstein wrote about electability yesterday, asking a pertinent question: What the hell is it, exactly? How electable did Hillary turn out to be?

#6  With Biden as the candidate:
* He is white as white can be so you lose the 'not an old white man' appeal against Trump.
* Bidens touchy gropy things means you lose the war on women argument against Trump.
* Biden's foot is in his mouth as often as Trumps so excusing his gaffs means you can't then attack Trumps without everyone noticing.
* Biden's legacy is Obama's legacy and the Dems have already started shredding that in their primaries. Reach further down the Biden resume and you have nothing. So comparing experience is out.
* I don't know if you can even say his hair is better, it sort of fades into his pale scalp but Trump's hair is entertaining.
* Biden has better name recognition than anyone else in the primaries but even before he was President Trump has higher name recognition.

By all means make Biden the leader of the Democrats.

#11  I remember some time ago , IIRC , on the History Chanel, they had a series on the high suicide rate of the natives of Greenland. It seems the Danes run the Island to suit themselves, and the natives feel useless since they can't live their old live style. If Greenland became a US state they could travel to the US and hunt Somali's in the warmer climate of Michigan and Minnesota.

Why Farmers Aren't Going To Abandon Trump Over The Trade War
[Federalist] You’ve all seen the headlines: "China is hitting the U.S. where it hurts: Soybeans," and "China takes aim at America’s soybean farmers," and "Soybean farmers are still paying for Trump’s trade war" (all from CNN).

The popular narrative goes that because President Trump launched a trade war against China, China has retaliated by tariffing America’s chief export to China‐agricultural products‐which happen to mostly come from red states that voted for Trump. China is "crushing prices" with its retaliatory tariffs, says HBO’s Vice News. In other words, the media narrative goes, China is punishing Trump voters for being dumb enough to vote for a trade warrior.

Before the midterms, the media took its narrative one step further. Just about every mainstream media publication ran a story that said farmers may abandon Republicans because of Trump’s trade war. Quartz, for example, wrote: "New tariffs on pork exports have forced some U.S. hog producers to liquidate parts of their farming operations. One farmer who spoke to Reuters said Trump’s trade war with China cost him $200,000 this year, and that he regretted voting for Trump in 2016. He isn’t alone"

In other words, "When will the dumb Trump-supporting farmers realize that they have been conned?" You can rest assured that this narrative will once again surface before 2020’s election. Except that none of it is true. American farmers are certainly hurting, but little of this is due to the trade war. The media is trying to take advantage of American farmers’ pain for political purposes.

Why Trump’s Approval Ratings Are Up Among Minorities
I’ve been wondering about the unanimous screeching that President Trump — and all Republicans, by definition — is racist.
[Spectator] A mounting number of voter polls show that, despite shrill denunciations of the president by the Democrats for his alleged racism, Trump is enjoying a dramatic increase in his approval ratings among minorities. This isn’t, as some liberal news outlets and pundits have suggested, wishful thinking based on outlier polls. The trend began showing up in surveys early this year and appears to be gaining momentum. Some polls now show his approval numbers at 25 percent among African American voters and 50 percent among Hispanic voters. If those figures hold for the next 15 months, they will render Trump unbeatable in November of 2020.

If this claim seems over the top, it should be remembered that Trump beat Hillary Clinton in 2016 despite garnering only about 8 percent of the black vote and 29 percent of the Hispanic vote. Put another way, Clinton lost the election despite winning nearly 90 percent of the African American vote and two-thirds of the Hispanic vote. In other words, they simply can’t beat the president if he holds them to significantly lower percentages of these key voting blocs. The Democrats and their media enablers understand this, of course, which is why they have worked so diligently to discredit polls that confirm the president’s gains among minority voters.

#3  Put another way, Clinton lost the election despite winning nearly 90 percent of the African American vote

This is 90% of 13% of the vote (assuming AA voting pop tracks close US population numbers). Not exactly a recipe for a landslide election. So maybe Hillary lost because she is evil and can't do arithmetic.
Posted by: SteveS || 08/21/2019 10:32 Comments || Top||

#4  This is why the Dems have doubled down on racist claims lately. Gotta keep the folks on the plantation and ignoring their lying eyes.
Posted by: ruprecht || 08/21/2019 11:37 Comments || Top||

#5  according to sources that seem reliable, the turnout among black voters was higher than among others in 2016. IF these were the same, the black community supplied a margin to Clinton of 80% of its 13% of the vote, which is more than 10% of all the voters. Since she got less than 52% of the total vote sh lost by at least 42 to 46.7 among other voters. Changing her proportion of the black vote to 75% would in itself lower her margin by 3.9% and in itself leave her behind. With a parallel effect among othr minorities the Democrats will be heavily behind if they do not find ways to appeal to those deplorables who voted for Trump in 2016

Science & Technology
How city living effects your health and happiness
Excerpts:
[BBC] A recent study has likened city air pollution to smoking a pack of cigarettes each day for 29 years. While the effect on our lungs is undoubtedly troubling, we should also be wary of what the air we breathe is doing to the rest of our bodies.

The World Health Organization (WHO) now calls urban pollution levels a "public health emergency" because 91% of us live in areas where air pollution exceeds the agency’s guidelines. Right now, 55% of the world’s population lives in urban areas. That figure is expected to rise to 68% by 2050, the United Nations estimates. If urban life is a serious concern for our health, mental wellbeing and outlook, then it is only going to become a greater issue for more of us as time passes.

Mental wellbeing

Prevalence of psychiatric disorders is significantly higher among people living in urban areas, says a meta-analysis of 20 pieces of research conducted over the past 35 years. Specifically, people in cities suffer from mood disorders and anxiety at a disproportionately high rate.

Compare this to residents who have a sea view ‐ for every 10% increase in the amount of ocean people can see, people’s scores on the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale decreased by one-third of a point. The researchers suggest that "a 20 to 30% increase in blue space visibility could shift someone from moderate distress into a lower category".

Education

Perhaps one of the more surprising ways that cities affect us is by making us less clever. Comparing the results of students taking exams with levels of air pollution on the day of exams shows that performances are worse when pollution is highest. The performance of students completing the same exams in the same cities on different days was compared to the levels of pollution on those days. Even small differences in pollution levels were found to have an effect on educational outcomes.

This has a real effect on outcomes later in life. A study in Israel found that high levels of fine particle pollution in the air on the day of high school exit exams had a negative effect on wages in adulthood.

#3  Did you notice the fantastic formula arrived at, proving the higher mental efficacy of coastal city dwellers ? Blue Space Visibility Hypothesis: For every 10% of 'sea view' you get, some percentage of anxiety decreases. Meaning 'we coastal elites have better functioning, unhindered brains, you inner city losers.'

5 Reasons Why Planned Parenthood Is Fake Feminism
[Townhall] Ok. I realize that listing only five points eliminates thousands of other really good reasons, they serve as powerful reminders. Planned Parenthood, contrary to their victimhood tweets, opted out of #TitleX funding because abortion is more important to them than their "family planning" patients.

Planned Parenthood President, Alexis McGill Johnson, confirmed with CBS (prior to the defunding) that she voted along with the organization’s board to "ensure that abortion was one of our core services that every center affiliated with Planned Parenthood would provide." CBS then asked, regarding Title-X funding: "Is there a scenario where you would discontinue abortion services in order to make everything else you do easier, better funded, and just easier for your patients?" McGill Johnson answered: "Absolutely not."

Planned Parenthood is the embodiment of fake feminism, a term (like many others) they’ve decided to reinvent. The dictionary defines it as "the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes [of which there are only two]" and "organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests."

Planned Parenthood does not fight for women’s rights, but their own right to harm and kill females in and out of the womb.

So, let’s run down this short, but significant, list.
