[USSA Today] When white nationalist groups clashed with left-wing counterprotesters last August in Charlottesville, Virginia, one woman died and several more people were injured.
This August, similarly opposed groups will converge on Washington, D.C.
Far-left activists, including anarchists, anti-fascists (known commonly as antifa) and Black Lives Matter groups are planning a major counterdemonstration on Aug. 12 that will coincide with "Unite the Right 2," a "white civil rights" rally in Lafayette Square marking one year since the events in Charlottesville.
"All of their rallies are resistance to our progress. They are not simply debates," said Makia Green, an organizer with Black Lives Matter D.C., who criticized the notion that white nationalists simply want to demonstrate their First Amendment rights. "White supremacist rallies have left a trail of blood in D.C."
Many of the activists believe extreme action is necessary to confront the white nationalist movement. Some anti-fascists, in particular, are willing to engage physically with white nationalists.
"The rise of white nationalism and racism has reared its ugly head in ways i haven’t seen in 30 years," said Scott Crow, an author, spokesman for Agency, an anarchist media collective, and former anti-fascist organizer. "Anarchists are willing to take steps that other people aren't."

There are so many protests in Washington these days. There are websites that give you a calendar of upcoming protests and demonstrations. For example: Scheduled protests. This must keep the cops busy.
[DAWN] THAT it has taken seven long years and two fact-finding missions before an FIR has been filed in the suspected ’honour’ killing of five girls in Kohistan ...a backwoods district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa distinguished by being even more rustic than is the norm among the local Pashtuns.... , speaks volumes. These are the girls who were caught on video having a good time, who were then rubbed out for Honour®. Somebody blabbed and the locals sent five ringers to the court to "prove" they were alive. We could smell the stench from here, but it seems there was an "eye of the stench" that prevented the Pak government from sniffing it.
The case came to light in 2011 when reports emerged that an online video of a young man dancing before a group of teenage girls had led to murder.
The mixed gathering had taken place in a village located in an extremely conservative part of KP. In the eyes of the locals, the youngsters had violated tribal norms and brought dishonour upon them.
Reportedly, five girls in the audience, as well as the man who was dancing and his two brothers, were later murdered on a jirga’s orders.
While the fact-finding missions were unable to definitively establish whether the murders had taken place, circumstantial and empirical evidence strongly suggested that was the case.
Moreover, Afzal Kohistani, a brother of the male victims, had been alleging the same, and the FIR was registered on his petition to the Supreme Court.
The delays in the resolution of a matter involving such mediaeval barbarity illustrate how law enforcement’s indifference to crimes of ’honour’ can stand in the way of justice.
In a social milieu where not much remains hidden within the community, the local police could have solved the case had they expended a little effort.
Instead, Afzal Kohistani himself, for much of the intervening period, had to live in hiding because of threats to his life.
The remoteness of the location also made it more difficult for human rights ...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty... activists to ascertain the truth.
In fact, if not for the video ‐ which by being available on the net for all to see possibly compounded the youngsters’ ’crime’ ‐ the truth may never have come out.
While improvements to the honour killing law are important, they cannot compensate for a primitive mindset.
The justice system needs to send a very strong message to those who commit crimes of ’honour’ and those who neglect their duty to investigate them.

...the unhinged and bizarre stories run by CNN and MSNBC are, in fact, giving rise to real violence and real threats of violence against Republican officials. And the incidents that have occurred have been by the left:

...people have been arrested in conjunction with credible threats of violence against two Republican members of Congress.

...The Bannister Effect is the notion that once a person sees someone else perform an exceptional feat, all doubt as to the possibility of that feat is erased, encouraging that person to strive for the goal, with hard work and training.
...All this leads me to the Trump phenomenon. No one would have believed in 2015 that one guy could have done all this in less than two years:

...I have recognized for years that the problem with Washington is not "politics." The problem is that many, many of the people running government are just plain evil. They are working for their own benefit to the detriment of everyone else, and they don’t care who gets hurt. These people are not just thieves, they are very clever thieves and have figured out how to steal from generations yet unborn. Every child born today inherits over $60,000 in debt, right out of the womb. Well, if the child is lucky enough to be born at all. This is not politics, this is evil.
And Donald Trump called evil, evil. Never in my life had I expected to hear this plain-speaking honesty from a president. I now know it’s possible, and due to the Bannister Effect I’m going to work even harder to put more people in charge who will call good, good, and evil, evil at every level.
...To compensate, the left thinks that they can squash this hope by squashing Trump. Sorry, but the hope is out of the bag. This is not about Trump any more. Certainly, there is a huge battle ahead, but we are armed with principles, not the infatuation of personality. We now know the positive possibilities for America are unlimited. Every good thing is possible, with enough hard work and time, even the destruction of liberal evil.

I don’t think I’d ever read anything she’d written before this week and having now read a few things I don’t think I was missing all that much. That’s not meant as a slam on her ability because I think she’s actually a good writer. But the subject she writes about isn’t that interesting to me. She styles herself an expert on technology, which doesn’t mean she can rebuild a V-8 engine or repair a circuit board. In media parlance, it means she has opinions about social media. So...whatever.
I don’t even care very much about her racist tweets, per se, or even her lame excuse for making them. What does bother me is the way in which the left collectively responded to her tweets with a big shrug. Ed wrote earlier about the Washington Post piece which wonders aloud whether Jeong did anything wrong. I read the same piece this morning and this is the paragraph that stood out:

Cause for the Left, its all about power. Understand that, and there is no need to be fretting over their hypocrisy. They have no shame. Never will. They only exist to install fear and loathing in the rest to keep them submissive.

To me, it shows something wrong with the Right - letting the left get away with it.
Plenty of people "on the right" get what is wrong with it. Not-particularly-right scribblers at Notional Review, Deadstate and so on don't get it as all, because they want the same rulez for themselves, and they hate white people (other than mom, dad and the Boss) too.

And using the White Man's Internet to do so. What, did you think the interwebs were invented in Zimbabwe?

If the net can be believed, at Harvard she was editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Gender. If I can trust alumnius, she got a BA in Philosophy at Berkeley. I will draw my own conclusions about the philosophy dept at Berkeley.
