[Breitbart] Women should be able to abort their babies simply because they are the "wrong" sex, a leading ethicist at Britain’s doctors’ union has said.
Professor Wendy Savage, a member of the ethics committee of the British Medical Association, said women should be able to have an abortion at any stage of pregnancy for whatever reason, even when the child would be able to survive outside of the womb.
She also said that abortion pills should be available online without the need to see a doctor or nurse. There has been growing concern in Britain that an increasing number of women are seeking abortions simply because they do not want girls, leading to some hospitals refusing to tell parents the sex of their babies.
However, Professor Savage told the Mail on Sunday: "Because of this sort of anxiety some places won’t tell the woman the sex of the foetus, which is outrageous.
"It’s her body and her foetus, so she should have that information... If a woman does not want to have a foetus who is one sex or the other, forcing her [to go through with the pregnancy] is not going to be good for the eventual child, and it’s not going to be good for [the mother’s] mental health."
She previously caused outrage after signing a letter claiming sex-selective abortion is not "gender discrimination" because that only applies to "living people".
She then doubled down on those views, claiming the unborn child is not really a person.

An aptly named professor named Savage
Set about the gender balance to ravage
Said she in a tone so mild
M'dears, it's not really a child
And it's death causes us no damage.

Old age had done Savage some damage.
"Oh, daughter, please fetch me a sandwich.
I'm frightened of falling...
Wait, who am I calling?
I had you hacked up like a cabbage."

Gender based abortion is the reason for the wildly skewed sex ratios in China under the old One Child Policy.
Maybe instead of the traditional grow-your-own method, we could grow embryos in vats. Then, when you need a new kid, you just go down and pick one out. Like going to the pound for a puppy.
Only now does the West seem to have worked out what has been going on. Rules about dress can, and indeed must, be imposed when any nation’s social cohesion is threatened. Europe is increasingly reaping the harvest of multicultural policies that have served to divide rather than unite. Not just with the growth of Islamism, either, but by engendering hostility to immigration and refugees — often towards my fellow Muslims. The Islamists thrive on this, the idea of Muslims being a society-within-a-society. If they invent religious grounds to persuade them to dress differently, so much the better. It suits their sectarian agenda.
At long last, the European Court of Justice has moved to restore the bedrock of European identity: secular liberal democracy, where the public space is shared by all, and dominated by no one. It’s just a shame it could not have done so sooner, before so much damage was done.
[Free Beacon] When a worker's after-tax income declines due to higher taxes, that person has a reduced incentive to work, a Congressional Budget Office analyst explained. Aye lads, could this fellow Shinon Mok be'on to something ?
"When workers' earnings rise but their after-tax income rises less--because of increases in their income and payroll taxes or declines in their benefits from government programs--their incentive to work typically declines," said Shannon Mok, an analyst for the budget office in the tax analysis division.
When individuals begin to earn higher salaries, they may fall into a higher tax bracket, resulting in a lower after-tax salary. The amount of tax an individual pays for an additional dollar of income is known as the marginal tax rate.
The budget office said that in 2016 low- and moderate-income workers faced a marginal tax rate of 31 percent, taking into account federal and state individual income taxes, federal payroll taxes, refundable tax credits, and the phaseout of government programs such as food stamps and subsidies for Obamacare.
"When deciding how much to work, people consider not only the higher earnings from working more hours but also the resulting difference in after-tax income--which is market income plus government transfers minus taxes," Mok says.
"Increases in marginal tax rates, on net, decrease the supply of labor by causing people already in the labor force to work less," she says.
In addition to taxes, government benefits such as food stamps can discourage work.
[WAPO] A congressional plan to make Planned Parenthood ineligible for federal funding would leave many women without services to help them avoid pregnancy, resulting in thousands of additional births, according to a new federal budget analysis.
The prediction came Monday as part of a much-awaited analysis from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, which assesses the fiscal impact of major legislative bills. It was part of a more sweeping look at a congressional health care bill that would repeal and replace the law known as Obamacare.
