[Pak Daily Times] We are living in the computer-age, which has increased the thinking capacity of our citizens. Now people from all walks of life are showing interest in all local and national activities. The past has been long forgotten when people only wanted to know about things like politics and education.
A question on the top of the list since last several months is why our law enforcement agencies have failed to stop terrorist activities, even after getting prior information, and who is responsible for this, law enforcers or politicians?
Now the masses are losing their patience and the world is watching incidents of brutality all over the country, case in point being the Sialkot killings and the blasts in Lahore, when people not only tortured policemen, but also burnt government as well as private property.
However, managing this situation peacefully and technically is the need of the hour. Our politicians must think about it, but surprisingly our politicians are doing totally different things, which could not only damage the country, but damage them too.
This is an open secret and everyone knows that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was very keen about top-to-bottom postings and transfers in the Punjab Police during each of his tenures. In this tenure, this duty has been transferred to Hamza Shahbaz and now he is deciding the postings and transfers of officials of the Punjab Police.
Sources in law enforcement agencies have said that basically the Punjab government is intentionally avoiding taking action on the information provided by the federal government. How interesting it is to know that the Punjab government prefers its own province over the whole country.
The incidents of two brothers in Sialkot being killed, the killing of a youngster in Shujaabad and killing of a man in Lahore were already question marks on the face of the Punjab Police. When the horrible terror attacks took place in Lahore, news reports and statements by the Lahore commissioner proved that all of Punjab's authorities concerned had prior information about the terrorist attack in Lahore, but they did nothing.
Amazingly, the worst situation started the next day of the incident when speculation started roaming in all corners concerned about massive-level transfers and postings in the Punjab Police. Then the high-ups who need to work on busting terrorist networks and their arrests leave all such positive efforts and start working to save their jobs.
Everyone knows that such types of officers were earlier deputed due to their strong links in the political circles. So now they are again using these links to save their jobs and interestingly, the rest of the officers who are waiting for deputation are also busy in searching links in the political circles for their postings.
However, this situation takes its toll on the citizens and some incidents proved that the public's emotions are at their dangerous peak. In this situation, they can do anything because now the Punjabi people are getting desperate. This scenario could also create problems for politicians who prefer to depute their loved ones on lucrative seats, especially in the Punjab Police Department.
On the other hand, the corners concerned are showing their apprehensions that the floods are not only damaging the country's economic situation, but could also damage the country's law and order situation.
The government's poor grip in the flood-affected areas regarding the law and order situation has already been proven, as several foreign social workers and representatives of foreign organisations returned from these areas after receiving threats by terrorist groups.

From my reading of Pakistan, Punjab and Pashtun seem to be the most anti american element of Pak society and hence make up the majority of the PakArmy.
If we can encourage Balochistan and Sindh to establish independence from these two this would be the best way forward to create peace in South/Central Asia!This is what the Pak army fears most.
