Why Is Bush Helping Saudi Arabia Build Nukes?
Hat tip LGF
Last month, while the American people were becoming the personal ATMs of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was in Saudi Arabia signing away an even more valuable gift: nuclear technology. In a ceremony little-noticed in this country, Ms. Rice volunteered the U.S. to assist Saudi Arabia in developing nuclear reactors, training nuclear engineers, and constructing nuclear infrastructure. While oil breaks records at $130 per barrel or more, the American consumer is footing the bill for Saudi Arabia's nuclear ambitions.

WND : Barack Obama's pyrrhic victory
Twenty-two centuries ago, Pyrrhus, king of Ephesus, managed to win battles against the Roman army in 280 B.C. and again the following year, in 279 B.C. But in doing so, the fighting was so savage and his losses – even in victory – were so immerse, that he declared: "If I should overcome the Romans in another fight, I were undone."

Barack Obama has "another fight" – this one ending on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

And look at his losses in the memorably bitter campaign against Hillary. What if the Democratic primaries were run like the general election with its winners-take-all electoral votes?

Sen. Clinton defeated Sen. Obama in 19 primaries, to his winning 18; while he won 14 caucuses to her three. But consider which won what. Hillary won the following: California, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas, among others.

By striking contrast to all those OBM (Old Big Media) conjectures that Hillary would yield and retire immediately after South Dakota and Montana, the last primaries, closed their polls, the following came from the allegedly surrendering Hillary on Tuesday night June 3. "On election day after election day, you came out to record numbers to cast your ballots. Nearly 18 million of you cast your votes for our campaign, carrying the popular vote with more votes than any primary candidate in history."

What that will inevitably mean – when it is quoted, repeatedly, this fall – is that 2008 Democrat nominee Obama had more votes against his being the nominee "than any primary candidate in history."

No wonder Hillary refused to concede until days after her unforgettable remembrance of "nearly 18 million" Democrat votes against Obama.

Democratic National Chairman Howard Dean – in his highly questionable opposition to any convention votes for the delegates from Florida and Michigan (which was changed to giving them half-votes) is no doubt relieved to have Hillary out of the race. But will he, or any other party leader, dare to try to deny her a Democratic National Convention speech in Denver?

And who would dare to try to censor "More-Votes-Than-Any-Primary-Candidate-In-History" Hillary – or the inevitable speech of the twice-elected president of the United States, who is her husband?

Will anybody ever forget Sen. Teddy Kennedy's speech to the Democratic National Convention, which nominated Jimmy Carter instead of him?

Remember how Jimmy chased the nimble and evasive Teddy all over the stage trying desperately to get together?

Then, imagine in Denver another utter charade – with nominee Barack desperately chasing Hillary!

And that Democrat political nightmare will hardly match the probable impact of the speech of President Bill Clinton.

So, to all my fellow Fourth Estaters who will be covering Denver (an estimated 15,000), the aforementioned exciting possibilities are reasons why I can't believe Denver will be dull.

George Soros Executive Vetting Obama's VP List
As we revealed here at LGF back on May 28th, the Scott McClellan book was published by a company that is owned by the Perseus Funds Group, a George Soros operation: The Soros-McClellan Connection.

It’s more than a little interesting to discover that James Johnson, currently under fire as the head of Barack Obama’s VP selection committee, is also the Vice Chairman of Perseus Funds.
The Soros cabal is perhaps the most serious threat our democracy faces.

Posted by: Deadeye Javirong5690 || 06/11/2008 11:54 Comments || Top||

#4  No. That's the Chinese's job. Soros' minions identified Obama very early as their own.
2004: Unlike Kerry, Barack Obama Covets George Soros' Support
Obama, however, is different from most Democrats because of his willingness to embrace the controversial Soros. Shortly after Soros equated the abuses at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Obama joined him for a New York fund-raiser June 7.

The event, held at Soros' home, boosted Obama's campaign at a time he was still facing a challenge from Republican Jack Ryan. ...

Little has been made of his connection to Soros, although it is quite unique. Not only did George Soros donate to Obama's campaign, but four other family members - Jennifer, sons Jonathan and Robert and wife Susan - did as well.

Because of a special provision campaign finance laws, the Soroses were able to give a collective $60,000 to Obama during his primary challenge. Obama faced millionaire Blair Hull, which allowed donors to give more than typically allowed.

Obama is one of only a handful of candidates to get a personal contribution from George Soros. ...

Thomas Sowell on BHO: Cocky Ignorance
Via the excellent Townhall.com
Now that Senator Barack Obama has become the Democrats' nominee for President of the United States, to the cheers of the media at home and abroad, he has written a letter to the Secretary of Defense, in a tone as if he is already President, addressing one of his subordinates.

The letter ends: "I look forward to your swift response."

With wars going on in both Iraq and Afghanistan, a Secretary of Defense might have some other things to look after, before making a "swift response" to a political candidate.

Because of the widely publicized statistic that suicide rates among American troops have gone up, Senator Obama says he wants the Secretary of Defense to tell him, swiftly:

"What changes will you make to provide our soldiers in theater with real access to mental health care?"

"What training has the Pentagon provided our medical professionals in theater to recognize who might be at risk of committing suicide?"

"What assistance are you providing families here at home to recognize the risk factors for suicide, so that they may help our service members get the assistance they need?"

"What programs has the Pentagon implemented to help reduce the stigma attached to mental health concerns so that service members are more likely to seek appropriate care?"

All this sounds very plausible, as so many other things that Senator Obama says sound plausible. But, like so many of those other things, it will not stand up under scrutiny.

What has been widely publicized in the media is that suicides among American troops have gone up. What has not been widely publicized is that this higher suicide rate is still not as high as the suicide rate among demographically comparable civilians.

No one needs to be reminded that suicide is a serious matter, whether among soldiers or civilians. But the media have managed to create the impression that it is military service overseas which is the cause of suicides among American troops, when civilians of the same ages and other demographic characteristics are committing suicide at an even higher rate at home.

Moreover, this is not the first time that military service overseas has been portrayed in the media as the cause of problems that are worse in the civilian population at home. The New York Times led the way in making homicides committed by returning military veterans a front page story, blaming this on "combat trauma and the stress of deployment." Yet the New York Post showed that the homicide rate among returning veterans is a fraction of the homicide rate among demographically comparable civilians.

In other words, if military veterans are not completely immune to the problems found among civilians at home, then the veterans' problems are to be blamed on military service-- at least by the mainstream media.

Does Senator Obama know how the rate of suicides or homicides among military veterans compares to the rate of suicides or homicides among their civilian counterparts? Do the facts matter to him, as compared to an opportunity to score political points?

Perhaps even more important, do the media even care whether Senator Obama knows what he is talking about? Or is the symbolism of "the first black President" paramount, even if that means a President with cocky ignorance at a time of national danger?

The media have been crucial to Barack Obama's whole candidacy. His only achievements of national significance in his entire career have been media achievements and rhetorical achievements.

Perhaps his greatest achievement has been running as a candidate with an image wholly incompatible with what he has actually been doing for decades. This man who is now supposedly going to "unite" us has for years worked hand in glove, and contributed both his own money and the taxpayers' money, to people who have sought to divide us in the most crude demagogic ways.

With all his expressed concern about the war in Iraq, he has not set foot in Iraq for more than two years-- including the very years when progress has been made against the terrorists there.

You don't need to know the facts when you have cocky ignorance and the media behind you.

what a jerk.

26 % had never deployed to either conflict.
Some common factors among those who took their own lives were trouble with relationships, work problems and legal and financial difficulties, officials said.

Officials also have hired more mental health workers, increased screening to measure the psychological health of soldiers and worked to reduce any stigma that keeps them from going for treatment when they have symptoms of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress and other emotional problems.

Obama Campaign Spending Out of Control - Going Broke Fast
Just because the Obama campaign doesn't pay for cabs from O'Hare and staffers are expected to double-up at hotels doesn't make it frugal. Indeed, Obama oversees a team of 700 people--more than twice as many as Bush in 2004--the biggest, most bloated campaign in the history of presidential elections:

So far in 2008, combined campaign-spending data for the three most recent months available--February, March and April--show that Sen. Obama outspent Sen. McCain 4.5-to-1 on staff salaries, more than 2-to-1 on office rents, and 25-to-1 on broadcast advertising, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Sen. Obama has about 700 employees on the payroll, scattered across 19 states. The McCain cadre is around 100, divided among a handful of local offices.

These hired guns aren't going to deliver Obama the presidency. Having that many cooks in the kitchen is going to dilute his message and bleed him dry. With a burn rate of 114 percent, the Obama campaign won't be able to maintain spending at primary levels even if fundraising were to remain constant--which is unlikely because so many Democratic donors have already given the maximum contribution.

Makes you wonder what kind of tax-and-spend operation Obama will run once he doesn't have to depend on voluntary contributors to foot the bill. Also makes you wonder how biased the media must be that it would characterize the Obama campaign as lean and efficient when in reality it is desperate, spendthrift, and broke. Finally, makes you wonder how a guy who has raised all this money, won his party's nomination, and received all this fawning attention for his historic achievement remains very nearly tied in the polls.
A hunnert million bucks covers a multitude of sins. Don't underestimate David Axelrod's ability to maintain the Ponzi scheme of campaign financing through the election.

#2  I don't see how this article is that accurate. There is no evidence saying he's going broke, only speculation by the author.

Maybe if McCain had 700 employees, he be broke, but for Obama college kids don't cost that much. Hired guns? It's just better organization of the team.

48 vs 42 (6 points so far)

Easy, McCain sealed the nomination and sat unchallenged on his kaboose for 2 months watching a cat fight. The real fight is just beginning, save your predictions!
