Obama's Cave-In To Iran May Be Worse Than We Knew
I haven't seen this elsewhere, though to be fair I haven't looked. And it must be remembered that the Muslim world is full of fantasists who believe that what they hear coming from their own mouths must therefore be true. because they heard it.
[AmericanThinker] While Americans enjoyed their day of thanks and feasting yesterday, news emerged from the Arab world about a shocking dimension of the cave-in to Iran at Geneva. If true, this report from Al-Arabiya is highly disturbing:

Iran and the United States are to establish a joint chamber of commerce within a month, with direct flights also planned, an Iranian official said Wednesday in a newspaper report.

"Iran-U.S. chamber of commerce will be launched in less than one month," Abolfazl Hejazi, a member of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, told the English-language Iran Daily.

In the wake of a historic accord on Sunday between Tehran and major powers on Iran's controversial nuclear program, Hejazi also said his country was ready to start direct flights to the United States.

Iran remains in full possession of its nuclear potential, has not renounced its aim of wiping Israel off the map, and continues to be the leading sponsor of worldwide terrorism. Yet the United States is starting to treat it as a friendly nation? I am tempted to verge into profanity.

Why on earth would we want direct flights from Iran to the United States? Iran would control the cargo hold on such flights, which would be able to enter American airspace. Does anyone think the Itanians are so respectful of human life that they would not martyr a planeload of passengers (sending the Moslems to heaven in their view) for the pleasure of detonating a nuke a few thousand feet above New York City?

I hope and pray that this report is false.
Update: Mark Steyn comments on the story reported by AFP. It's vintage Steyn: knowledgeable, witty, and scathing. Well worth your time.

#1  Or as another venerable publication puts it:

‘The Onion’ Vows To Carry On Iran’s Nuclear Weapons Program Until The Job Is Done

Rest assured, The Onion keeps its promises.

The Onion guarantees in no uncertain terms that Iran’s nuclear development will continue as planned, with no delays or downturn whatsoever. In fact, in light of these recent events in Geneva, not only will we deliver on the original terms of our arrangement, but we will also redouble our efforts and promise you this, in no uncertain terms: Iran will, Insha'Allah, have the greatest, most devastating nuclear arsenal the world has ever seen within 12 months’ time.

#2  "Direct Flights are planned".

#3  Way back in Oct., 2010 (Seems like forever ago) British radical Muslim activist Anjem Choudary said on ABC: “We do believe, as Muslims, the East and the West will one day be governed by the Shariah [law]. Indeed, we believe that one day, the flag of Islam will fly over the White House.”

As planned. However, most plans do have a way of getting "train-wrecked" along the way. Just consider ObamaCare.

#4  Of course the Iranian profited by this. As Kissinger report Mao telling him about the opening of negotiations, "If I didn't have anything to gain you wouldn't be here; if you didn't have anything to gain, you shouldn't have come."

Sorry Irishrageboy, "When will we retaliate?" Never To any American Democrat voter under the age of 54 years old these events are "ancient history", happened before the majority of them were born (34 years ago) and well after the second half of these Democrat voters 35-54 had any skin in the game - they were kids.

India-Pakistan
All because of drones -- D Asghar
[Pak Daily Times] Once upon a time, there was a country ravaged by war all because of evil Soviet invaders. Then, by sheer faith and belief, its neighbouring country rescued it by sending pious and upright students laced with their unfettered determination and religious resolve. These valiant students drove the evil Soviets out and established a historical Islamic government in that country. The rest of the world was in awe of the remarkable achievements of these nascent yet scholarly administrators who set exemplary standards of governance and jurisprudence. Despite envy and rebuke from the rest of the world, there were three righteous countries that recognised their exemplary rule and provided them with much needed moral, logistical and, at times, financial support. With their brotherly assistance, the nation was able to rise to such unprecedented levels of progress and development that most of the western world went into a state of shock and undeniable envy.

Being students themselves in the not too distant past, these scholars made their country the fountainhead of knowledge and learning. So much so that most brotherly nations sent their students, thirsty for knowledge, to this country. These remarkable administrators gave their brethren free education in almost every sphere of knowledge known to mankind. The stadiums were filled with contestants who were competing for trivia in Math, Sciences, Arts, Geography, and Technology etc -- you get the picture. Peace and tranquility reigned supreme in the mountainous and beautiful country.

At one time, statutes of the Buddha were impeding the new wing for the centre of learning for women, so those statutes were peacefully brought down to dust. After all, something made of dust had to be mingled with the dust. The women were joyous as every street corner had a school dedicated specifically towards female education. The citizens were delighted because of the revival of their superior education system and the economy was booming. The soil that once grew poppy contained all crops, crude oil and natural resources flowing to the extent that this nation was perhaps feeding the entire continent with its abundant resources. The oil rich nations were borrowing and buying from this country. The righteousness and its glory was so self evident that the entire world started rethinking about abandoning their flawed systems and their systems of belief.

Violence in the name of religion -- Syed Mansoor Hussain
[Pak Daily Times] For quite some time we in the Punjab sort of pushed sectarian violence under the rug. When Christians were attacked, it was not really about religion -- it was paid rioters trying to get them to vacate some choice bit of 'real estate' that developers had their eyes on. The Ahmedis, well, as long as they mind their own business and do not act like Mohammedans nobody is going to bother them, at least not too much. As far as the Shia are concerned, there are just too many of them to put them in their place but, then again, they would be left alone if only they would stop taking out their mourning processions and stop using derogatory language for revered religious personages. As far as the 'blasphemers' are concerned, they deserve what they get.

We can always make excuses about the 'sporadic' incidences of religious violence in Punjab, blame even the occasional attack on Sufi shrines as an aberration rather than the norm but then this year everything changed. The violence during the Moharram procession in Rawalpindi proved once and for all that sectarianism is alive and well in Punjab and that the religious bad boys, as an article of their faith, believe in killing 'non-believers' and are just biding their time. As far as Shia-Sunni conflicts are concerned, everybody parrots the line that they have been around for centuries and can never be suppressed; if only all of us just became 'good' Mohammedans, everything would be fine. However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
therein lies the problem. There are as many definitions of a good Mohammedan as there are sects. More importantly, any form of religious conformity imposed under the law is not going to work at least not in the modern world where completely isolated communities do not exist anymore.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Is the US changing sides in the regional conflict between Iran and its enemies?
Even before any comprehensive agreement was reached on the nuclear file, Washington appears to have begun to dismantle the carefully assembled diplomatic structure seeking to contain Iranian regional ambitions.

...Michael Doran of the Brookings Institute suggested this week that Washington is in the first phase of seeking a “strategic partnership” with Iran, an “entente cordiale” which would see a US-Iranian alliance forming a lynchpin of regional stability.

If this is truly what the welter of evidence detailed above portends, then the Middle East is headed into a dangerous period indeed. As Doran also notes, there is no reason at all to think that Iranian designs for regional hegemony have been abandoned.
We're going to live in interesting times

#2  ...we must keep in mind that countries have neither friends nor enemies, only interests. That being said, how are the interests of our current "leadership" promoted by this latest permutation..?
