Race and Crime in America - The unspoken statistical reality of urban crime over the last quarter century.
[UNZ] The recent wave of riots and looting has been the worst our country has seen in two generations, but some of the crucial underlying factors have been avoided by nearly our entire mainstream media, as well as by most conservative outlets. Republishing this article from a few years ago may help to shed light on these important matters.

#1  The reason so many interactions between the police and a community is crime. No crime, you can have Barney Fife as your constable. One community refuses to address IT'S problem which is the only solution to the issue. That's because pols find it so much easier to blames someone else who 'turns the other cheek' way too many times.

#6  It's said that (pay site):

African-Americans made up 53% of known homicide offenders in the U.S. and commit about 60% of robberies, though they are 13% of the population.

The imbalance is even worse than that, since the vast majority of these homicides are committed by black males

If we assume that black males commit the overwhelming majority of such homicides and that black males are roughly half the overall population of blacks, then this means that about 5-7% of the population is responsible for more than 50% of the homicides.

-Signs, Portents, and the Weather-
The World Is Not Ending – By Doctor Tanstaafl
[AccordingToHoyt] When word came of a new deadly virus from China, our grown children asked what we thought. We said, "Wash your hands, and don’t pick your nose". They claimed that was our answer to everything medical, along with "take ibuprofen and walk it off". Why were we so convinced the world wasn’t ending?

New viruses come along fairly frequently. Most of them never get noticed. Some of them cause human diseases. Most of them cause something indistinguishable from a cold. Occasionally, there is one that causes more severe problems. Then comes a familiar pattern. The worst cases hit the medical system first making all cases of the illness appear severe and with a high mortality rate. Patients show up really sick and dying and we don’t know what’s wrong. They don’t fit any of our familiar disease patterns. We start thinking a bad pandemic is going to hit, and everyone will die. Then we start recognizing the not-so-sick patients with the disease. As people hear about it, they come to the doctors earlier. We then realize that there is a whole host of people that have it, but aren’t sick enough to come see the doctors. Then, it’s just one of many viruses to worry about. We’ve seen this pattern before...

Remember West Nile Virus? Initially very sick people presented to the medical systems. What if a large number of people caught this new threat and became this sick? Before we knew it people were very upset, we got calls from people saying they had found a dead bird and could we test it for West Nile Virus. One mother called saying she had seen a dead crow and the kids were near it what should she do. As it turned out West Nile Virus was widely disseminated with many asymptomatic cases and most symptomatic patients had a mild cold and a headache. In the end the probability of serious or fatal disease from West Nile Virus turned out to be low and today it has not changed how we live our lives.

#11  The usual logical exercise is to turn the question around. If I only need to live long enough to re-elect Trump (because that's good for Israel) and then I can die, why should I care what's good for Israel? Full disclosure. I want what's best for me first and what's best for Israel second. If that order of concerns offends, I'm OK with that.

#17  I have to re-edit "The Mendicant." He needs to mutter about seamstresses now too.

#18  My nation of fans has demanded that I respond to an unnamed individual’s request for a prediction. So, at alarmingly great personal sacrifice, I hereby present my prediction, submitted for your approval – with no apologies to Rod Serling – in the form of a screenplay snippet.

(A traffic island in a sun baked southwestern US metropolis. A raggedy mendicant taps on car windows while the drivers wait for the traffic light to change.)

Mendicant – “Where do you think you are going? To work? Don’t you know there’s a virus? Where is your mask? You should go home now…”

(Drivers ignore this, it’s been going on since 2020, it’s now 2025.)

(In an ongoing initiation for new officers, Cpl. Maria Murcek approaches the “at risk citizen” and makes contact.)

Cpl. Murcek – “Um, you know, it’s almost lunch time. Do you want to come over to the Resource Center for a nice baloney sandwich and some milk? Sit in the air conditioning? It’s 104 F here right now and it’s only going to get hotter…”

Mendicant – “What’s wrong with you? Where’s your mask? Don’t you know about the virus? Why aren’t you at home? You are committing a crime against humanity. St. Fauci will get you for this!”

Cpl. Murcek – “I’m a bad person. I don’t have a picture of St. Fauci in my apartment. But I’m worried about you. Let’s go have some nice lunch in the AC at the Resource Center.”

Mendicant – "Who makes your clothes? Don't you know about seamstresses?

Cpl. Murcek – It's off the rack from GI Jeff's in Daytona.

Mendicant – Whore...

Mendicant – “Only I can save the world! Me and St. Fauci. Why are you trying to stop me?”

Cpl. Murcek – “Look it’s hot out here. Do you want a baloney sandwich and milk or the Taser? Your choice, not mine.”

Mendicant – “The math! Don’t you understand the math? The magic numbers are the only thing. Nothing else matters…”

Cpl. Murcek – “We are running out of time. If numbers matter, you need to consider this number. In 30 seconds I’m going to Taser you if you don’t come with me off this traffic island. My supervisor says I don’t have all day for this. It’s a test for me. I’m not going to fail. So let’s work together here…”

Mendicant – “Where’s your mask? Why aren’t you at home? You are committing a crime against humanity…”

(Cpl. Murcek rolls her eyes and unholsters her Taser)

Cpl. Murcek – “Last chance. Baloney sammich and milk or the Taser?”

Mendicant – “Scarf woman will get you for this…”

(Cpl. Murcek triggers her Taser, thumbs the wheel up to Maximum.)

(Mendicant flops on the ground and foams at the mouth, passing drivers give thumbs up)

(Cpl. Murcek internal monologue: “Ok, this sucks, but I’m the rookie, this is what rookies get. This time next year I’ll be explaining how this works. Hopefully this old fuck will be institutionalized by then…”)

-War on Police-
NYPD Planning 'Strike' on July 4 to Give People Their 'Independence From Police'
[PJ] Flyers are circulating among New York City police officers calling for a "strike" on July 4 in order to give people a taste of what a world without police would be like.

This follows comments from Governor Andrew Cuomo on NPR on Monday where he said if people don’t want the police force, "they shouldn’t have it."

It looks like at least some NYPD officers want to take the governor at his word.

New York Post:
A pair of flyers making their rounds among NYPD officers are encouraging them to call out sick July 4th — as retribution for police reform and a perceived anti-cop climate following the outrage over high-profile police killings of unarmed black men across the country, multiple cops told The Post.

One message calls for the strike to kick off at 3 p.m. July 4.

"NYPD cops will strike on July 4th to let the city have their independence without cops," [reads] the message, which is being passed among cops via text, according to sources.

So far, the move to strike doesn’t appear to be catching fire with most cops, but who knows? It’s more than two weeks until July 4. That’s an eternity for rioters. And given that every single police shooting of a black man across the country is now under the microscope, it won’t take much to set the mob off again.

This particular effort to organize a strike isn’t the only one.

Could Egypt and Turkey be headed for war in Libya?
Short answer: Yes
[JPost] Turkey has increased its military intervention in Libya in recent months, sending ships off the coast, planes to bring weapons, mercenaries and armed drones to the country.

This is ostensibly to support the government in Tripoli which is fighting a civil war against forces in eastern Libya. But it is actually part of Turkey's desire for a greater role in energy exploration in the Mediterranean and aimed at weakening Egyptian-backed opposition forces. In response Egypt's president hinted during a tour of a massive military base on Saturday, that Egypt might intervene.

Leaked documents reveal right-wing oligarch plot to overthrow Mexico's AMLO
This is Max Blumenthal’s site, which describes itself as founded ... in 2015 to shine a journalistic light on America's state of perpetual war and its dangerous domestic repercussions. Mr. Blumenthal, as you will recall, dear Reader, is the Israel-hating son of Sidney Blumenthal, a favourite reporter for Russia Today, with Media Matters, AlterNet, and Al Jazeera in his resumé.
[TheGrayZone] Mexico’s oligarchs and establishment political parties have united in a secret alliance to try to remove left-wing President López Obrador from power, with help from the media, Washington, and Wall Street.
Wall Street. Really?
Leaked documents lay out their devious strategy.

Some of the most powerful forces in Mexico are uniting in a campaign to try to topple the country’s first left-wing president in decades, Andrés Manuel López Obrador. And they apparently have support in Washington and on Wall Street.

Known popularly as AMLO, the Mexican leader is a progressive nationalist who campaigned on the promise to "end the dark night of neoliberalism." He has since implemented a revolutionary vision he calls the "Fourth Transformation," vowing to fight poverty, corruption, and drug violence
...and how is that working out?
— and has increasingly butted heads with his nation’s wealthy elites.

López Obrador has also posed a challenge to the US foreign-policy consensus. His government provided refuge to Bolivia’s elected socialist President Evo Morales and to members of Evo’s political party who were exiled after a Trump administration-backed military coup.

AMLO also held a historic meeting with Cuba’s President Miguel Díaz-Canel, and even stated Mexico would be willing to break the unilateral US blockade of Venezuela and sell the besieged Chavista government gasoline.
Sell gasoline for what — sugar?
These policies have earned AMLO the wrath of oligarchs both inside and outside of his country. On June 18, the US government ratcheted up its pressure on Mexico, targeting companies and individuals with sanctions for allegedly providing water to Venezuela, as part of an oil-for-food humanitarian agreement.
Why don’t they just provide food, if that’s what’s needed? Surely Venezuela’s water is just as polluted as Mexico’s.
The value of the Mexican peso immediately dropped by 2 percent following the Trump administration’s imposition of sanctions.

These opening salvos of Washington’s economic war on its southern neighbor came just days after López Obrador delivered a bombshell press conference, in which he revealed that the political parties that had dominated Mexican politics for the decades before him have secretly unified in a plot to try to oust the president, years before his democratic mandate ends in 2024.
Ooooooooohhhhhhh, secret plots! Hold me, Ethel — I have shivers running all up my spine, I do!
The forces trying to remove AMLO from power include major media networks, massive corporations, sitting governors and mayors, former presidents, and influential business leaders. According to a leaked document, they call themselves the Broad Opposition Block (Bloque Opositor Amplio, or BOA).
Did they sign it in blood, too?
And they say they have lobbyists in Washington, financial investors on Wall Street, and major news publications and journalists from both domestic and foreign media outlets on their team....
Not the American media, they don’t. The American news media, or at least the mainstream media, are firmly in the side of the Left wherever they find it.

Kim Jong Un's ‘Princess' sister is turning into the Terminator

[NY Post] Rocketman better watch out. His kid sister, nicknamed "Princess" in North Korea and sometimes referred to as the "Twisted Sister," is now acting more like the Terminator.

Kim Yo Jong, all regal cheekbones and icy glare, ordered a joint liaison office for both North and South Korea blown up last week as part of an aggressive charge against South Korea ‐ and by extension the United States. She also slammed the leader of South Korea and threatened military action in a sudden seizing of power that may or may not be authorized by her big brother.

Fifth Column
Don't Speak Your Mind if You Can't Do the Time
Long. Worth it. Herewith the opening paragraphs:
[AmericanMind] ...replying to Arthur Milikh, "'Hate Speech' and the New Tyranny of the Mind". The securitization of so-called hate speech.

On September 27, 2012, Nakoula Basseley Nakoula was arrested for making a movie which supposedly offended Muslims. That was not, naturally, the official charge. On paper, Nakoula was arrested for the parole violation of having used a computer and alias. Which he did, while making the video in question.

Yet no less esteemed a personage than Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made it perfectly clear that the real reason why Nakoula was dragged out of his home one night by sheriff deputies was that he had made a movie.

As the story went, Nakoula’s Youtube video was directly responsible for the sacking of the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya—an attack which killed the U.S. ambassador, a member of the consulate staff, and two highly trained military contractors working for the CIA. As Charles Woods, the father of slain Navy Seal Tyrone Woods, told Fox News, “I gave Hillary a hug and shook her hand. And she said we are going to have the filmmaker arrested who was responsible for the death of my son.”

I could not help but think of the story of Nakoula as I read Arthur Milikh’s “’Hate Speech’ and the New Tyranny of the Mind” on the rising tide of the “Hate Speech” movement both globally and in the United States. Milikh’s report was an excellent contribution to documenting the increasingly worrisome threat to our liberties. When one considers Nakoula, the tyranny Milikh describes is less a speculative dystopian future than an increasingly actualized dystopian present.

Nakoula’s story demonstrates an element of the growing threat to free speech rights which is largely not covered by Milikh but which I would call the “securitization of hate speech.” That is, that the suppression of speech, and the categorization of certain types of speech as impermissible, is increasingly justified on the grounds of security.

Milikh accurately notes that American free speech rights were never understood to include incitement to immediate criminal violence. He also correctly identifies the long-accepted standard that in order to be illegal such incitement must be intentional, imminent, and specifically targeted.

But a subtle shift has been underway for some time now. This traditional understanding has transformed us from the common-sense position that it is reasonable to prohibit someone from deliberately inciting a mob to arson, loot, and murder, into an Orwellian drama where a California-based YouTube video can be held responsible for an orchestrated attack on a consulate half a world away by battle-hardened jihadists.

My terrifying five-day stay inside Seattle's cop-free CHAZ
h/t Instapundit
[NYP] - On June 8, Seattle police frantically loaded what they could from the east precinct onto trucks and cars. Within hours, they boarded up and abandoned the station. That night, left-wing protesters from Black Lives Matter and Antifa declared ownership of the six-block neighborhood in the middle of the Pacific Northwest’s largest city. They named their new territory the "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone," or CHAZ. No laws or rules applied here except for one: "No cops allowed."

During five undercover days and nights in the zone, I witnessed a continuing experiment in anarchy, chaos and brute-force criminality. In order to avoid being exposed as a journalist — several reporters have been barred or expelled — I slept and showered outside the zone. (Those inside have no showers but they do have portable bathrooms.)
Ugh. Prepare for the reappearance of long-erased diseases.
I took meals, and most of my water breaks, elsewhere because I was reluctant to remove my mask and risk being recognized. Every day I entered the zone twice through its semi-porous borders — once in the early afternoon, and again after sundown, staying until the wee hours.

Crime has surged inside and outside the zone.

...CHAZ occupants, ranging from several hundred to 10,000 depending on the day, with many openly armed, control all of the Capitol Hill neighborhood near downtown. The neighborhood is the heart of Seattle’s gay and counter-culture district, and is densely filled with businesses and apartment buildings. CHAZ now claims all of it.

...A large team of volunteers assembled to designate themselves "security" for CHAZ. Many of them wear patches signaling they’re part of the Puget Sound John Brown Gun Club,
...Antifa’s gun-toting wing, also known as Redneck Revolt.. They’re the ones whom Project Veritas recently revealed as having pretended to be neo-Nazis at the 2017 Charlottesville, Va. Unite The Right rally...
a far-left militia-type organization named after the radical abolitionist. Last year, one of the group’s members carried out an armed attack on an Immigration, Customs and Enforcement facility in Tacoma, Wash. Police said that Willem van Spronsen tried to ignite the 500-gallon propane tank attached to the facility. He was killed by police.

...Lacking agreed-upon leadership, those who have naturally risen to the top have done so with force or intimidation. For example, rapper Raz Simone, real name Solomon Simone, patrols CHAZ on some nights with an armed entourage. Simone, originally from Georgia, has an arrest record for child cruelty and other charges. He usually conducts his patrols carrying a long semi-auto rifle and sidearm. Last weekend, a live stream recorded Simone handing another man a rifle from the trunk of a car.

...Those unfortunate enough to have homes or businesses within CHAZ — an estimated 30,000 residents — have no say over their new overlords.
...kind of like being Jewish in Nazi Berlin...
Residents have discreetly voiced their concerns to local media. Gunshots and "screams of terror" at night have been reported. A resident of an apartment building came out twice to ask protesters to leave the alley where the entrance is. They brushed him off.

Every business and property inside CHAZ has been vandalized with graffiti. Most messages say some variation of "Black Lives Matter" or "George Floyd," but other messages call for the murder of police. Most businesses are boarded up. "ACAB" — all cops are bastards, an Antifa slogan — is written over them.

Businesses outside CHAZ are also suffering.
Whenever people talk about civil rights, one of the most important ones "the right to call a cop" (part of the "common defense") is never mentioned. I guess, air is never noticed unless missing.

#1  This sort of thing works great in an African village where all your wealth is in your hut or in a nearby field. If the bulk of your wealth is in a bank and investments, just jeave and sue over the loss of your home. Who to sue? Soros, the mayor of Seattle, the police chief. The owners of the WaPo and NYT. Lots of choices.

Of course.

Guess Which Surrender Monkey Won the Battle of the Monuments?
[UNZ] Steve Hilton is a Briton who anchors a current-affairs show on Fox News.

Mr. Hilton made the following feeble, snowflake’s case for the removal of the nation’s historically offensive statues:

It’s offensive to our Africa-American neighbors to maintain statues in public places that cause not only offense, but real distress. And it is disrespectful to our native-American neighbors to glorify a man who they see as having committed genocide against their ancestors. None of this is to erase history. Put it all in a museum. Let’s remember it and learn from it.

"What’s wrong with Camp Ulysses Grant," Hilton further intoned sanctimoniously. He was, presumably, plumping for the renaming of army installations like Fort Bragg, called after a Confederate major general, Braxton Bragg.

Sons of the South—men and women, young and old—see their forebear as having died "in defense of the soil," and not for slavery. Most Southerners were not slaveholders. All Southerners were sovereigntists, fighting a War for Southern Independence.

Hilton, it goes without saying, is a follower of the State-run Church of Lincoln. To the average TV dingbat, this means that Southern history comes courtesy of the likes of Doris Kearns Goodwin, a Lincoln idolater and the consummate court historian.
and noted plagiarist
"Doris Kearns Goodwin," explains professor Thomas J. DiLorenzo, the country’s chief Lincoln slayer, "is a museum quality specimen of a court historian, a pseudo-intellectual who is devoted to pulling the wool over the public’s eyes by portraying even the most immoral, corrupt and sleazy politicians as great, wise, and altruistic men."

When Doris does the TV circuit, evangelizing for power, she never mentions, say, the close connection between her great Ulysses Grant and Hilton’s "native-American neighbors."

Yes, Doris, Steve: who exactly exterminated the Plains Indians?

Indian-Americans will likely be hip to the fact that the Republicans, led by General Sherman himself, supervised the genocide of some 60,000 Plains Indians from 1865 to 1890. The Plains Indians endured land dispossession that culminated "in the late 1880s, with the surviving tribes of the West being herded onto reservations," writes DiLorenzo, in "The Feds versus The Indians."

Primary sources notwithstanding, to make his case in this tract alone, DiLorenzo galvanizes sources such as L.A. Marshall’s Crimsoned Prairie: The Indian Wars (1972), John F. Marszalek’s Sherman: A Soldier’s Passion for Order (1993) and Sheridan: The Life and War of General Phil Sheridan (1992), by Roy Morris, Jr.

"We must act with vindictive earnestness against the Sioux, Sherman wrote to Ulysses S. Grant (commanding general of the federal army) in 1866, ’even to their extermination, men, women and children.’ The Sioux must ’feel the superior power of the Government.’ Sherman vowed to remain in the West ’till the Indians are all killed or taken to a country where they can be watched.’"

"’During an assault,’ he instructed his troops, ’the soldiers cannot pause to distinguish between male and female, or even discriminate as to age.’ He chillingly referred to this policy in an 1867 letter to Grant as ’the final solution to the Indian problem,’ a phrase Hitler invoked some 70 years later."

Hilton, who believes in the Republican Party’s moral supremacy, can’t be expected to know that, in "eradicating the Indians of the West," Sherman was delivering good old "veiled corporate welfare" to "a segment of the railroad industry, which heavily bankrolled the Republican party."

Some things never change.

#1  Golly gee whiz, never ask yourself the inconvenient truth why the Crow were scouts for the US Army. Something about their 'neighbors' always kicking their ass and taking territory.

I'm sure Dron can add a point or two about how the Brits treated the 'tribes' on the Northwest Territories of their Indian holdings during the 19th Century. Raiding and banditry usually invites a response from those upon whom it is visited. Well, at least from strong governments rather than weak ones.

#2  Sherman (and Grant) were war criminals. But to many, they are "heroes". Victors, the state, and history books.

In other news: The shelling of Charleston, SC has stopped and it is said you can walk freely about the city at any time, day or night. 'Extreme situations call for extreme measures.'

Generals Grant and Sherman were given a mission. They accomplished their mission. I am not at all sure our Generals today would fare as well.

Since they pre-date the Geneva or Hague Convention just what 'war crimes' did the commit? Other than losing a war which is fundamental in history. Do you choose to play 'judging by today's standards' that the Left games?

#14  Dresden was deemed so essential that it had to be fire-bombed by Bomber Harris weeks before the war's end?

Are you arguing that Dresden was not a valid military target or that knowing what we know now, Harris made the wrong decision?

Given that Hitler would eventually kill himself in his bunker, everyone could have stayed home and sat the war out. That whole D-Day thing could have been avoided entirely.

BLM at War with America
[American Thinker] Outrageously, cowardly and traitorous politicians are allowing Black Lives Matter, a racist hate group to engage in an "Everything Must Go" fire-sale against America. BLM is literally pulling down monuments and demanding that large portions of our history be removed from the records. They are burning down homes which dare fly the U.S. flag. They are taking control of portions of cities, absurdly claiming it as their new country. Why is BLM behaving like spoiled-brat bullies on America's playground? The answer: Because they are allowed to do it.

My stomach turned watching Tucker Carlson on Fox News cite a Rasmussen poll which says Black Lives Matter has 62% popularity, more than President Trump. I remembered a bit of wisdom my brother gave me years ago. He said whenever something shocking happens, before you respond, stabilize your emotions. Despite the depressing poll, over a million people sought tickets to attend Trump's rally in Tulsa. Also, a Rasmussen poll says 40% of likely black voters approve of Trump's job performance.

Fake news media is so despicable and obviously agenda driven. Here's a NYT headline, "Trump's Rally in Tulsa Could Spread Virus." Meanwhile, the NYT and the rest of fake news media are encouraging anarchists to flood our streets with protesters with zero concern about spreading the virus.

What is so frustrating is that BLM is an extreme racist and anti-American hate group. Years ago, BLM declared war on cops and white people. They marched down a NY street chanting, "What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want it? Now!"

Folks, how can any American in their right mind support these haters, paid to assassinate cops and whites and destroy our country? Long before the George Floyd incident, BLM was paid $150 million by George Soros and various anti-American liberal corporations and foundations.

"Accessory before the fact" is a legal term referring to a person who incites or assists someone to commit a crime. BLM is physically destroying businesses, assaulting, and murdering people. Can victims of BLM file lawsuits against major corporations who are eagerly donating millions to the domestic terrorist hate group?
