Crime Is the New Reparations
[PJ] Blame The Conservatives

We all know black people are constant victims of conservative white suppression and racism, because we are reminded every day by the far left media, and the sheep that graze on, and then regurgitate, their ridiculous conspiracy theories. Black folks are held back by "white supremacy." Evil Republican politicians won’t allow for federally funded reparations so what else can the lefty apologists offer?

If Affirmative Action and current government hiring practices are actually 'criminal' acts, could I still have been correct ?

I am so confused.

-Signs, Portents, and the Weather-
Sometimes a Coincidence isn't a Coincidence
[American Thinker] Coincidences are interesting things. They’re considered remarkable because their combined occurrence seems improbable. But sometimes, improbable occurrences really happen. Lightning really has struck the same location twice -- on rare occasions.

But when coincidences start to stack up, their probability of jointly occurring becomes exceedingly low. One begins to wonder if they are not coincidences at all. Could they really be linked outcomes from the same underlying root cause?

In the past year and a half, we have witnessed a remarkable string of apparent coincidences.

Dr. Fauci sponsored "gain of function" research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Put simply, this work increases a virus’s ability to cause disease. It makes a virus more dangerous. Coincidentally, we’re now learning that COVID-19 originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The COVID-19 virus spread throughout the world in the early months of 2020. Coincidentally, this was at the same time that Donald Trump was ratcheting up sanctions against China and rallying worldwide support.

The pandemic resulting from COVID-19 was used as the rationale for fundamental changes to our election processes. These changes facilitated the most questionable election outcome in U.S. history. 51% of the population now believes that fraud affected the election outcome — and that number is growing. Coincidentally, the election of 2020 neutralized China’s biggest threat — President Donald J. Trump.

The beneficiary of the compromised election of 2020 is Joe Biden. Coincidentally, old Joe has deep and troubling financial connections to China. His son Hunter accompanied him to China when Joe was the vice president and subsequently made millions of dollars from Chinese-sponsored business ventures. Emails from Hunter’s abandoned laptop indicate that Joe was the recipient of a sizable portion of those proceeds.

In the past week, we learned that the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has a high-level defector from China -- whom they’re not sharing with the FBI or CIA. This defector is providing evidence that COVID-19 was not only created in the Wuhan lab but may have been deliberately leaked by the Chinese. This revelation coincidentally came at the same time the FBI was working to discredit scientists claiming the virus was created in a lab.

Representative Matt Gaetz aggressively questioned FBI Director Christopher Wray about the FBI’s behavior relative to COVID-19 scientific whistleblowers. Shortly after this questioning, the press began a series of stories insinuating that Gaetz had inappropriate relationships with underage girls -- though no evidence has been presented yet. But I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.

#2  Most modern people really don't understand what hubris is. Even people like Fauxi who were introduced to the idea in school think it's an "old dead white guy" thing that does not apply to them. VDH will write a 12,000 word essay about hubris that nobody will read, but some over-rated blogger will drool while pointing to. Leftist screed merchants will tell us Trump invented hubris exactly to give us COVID and Russians.

The world will move on.

Too timid? Experts worry pursuing lab-leak theory may upset U.S.-China relations
[Just The News] Antagonizing China, some experts fear, might jeopardize the secretive regime's cooperation in both finding the source of COVID-19, as well as preventing or mitigating future pandemics.

A chorus of public health experts and commentators are warning the U.S. to tread carefully in pursuing the COVID-19 lab-leak theory, lest an aggressive investigation worsen already strained U.S.-China relations.

Largely ignored and disparaged by the press and the scientific community over the last 18 months, the lab-leak theory has received an explosion of interest starting several weeks after Joe Biden's inauguration in January. A growing number of scientists, writers and government officials have ramped up pressure to mount a thorough international investigation to determine whether or not the SARS-Cov-2 virus leaked from a Chinese coronavirus lab located in Wuhan just a few miles from the first reported outbreak of the virus.

Whether accidental or a-purpose, a CCP bioweapon just killed some hundreds of thousands of Americans. But we don't want to antagonize them. The lesson is that the Japanese needed to spend more money buying US politicians, newsies, and business tycoons. If they had, we would have been told to view Pearl Harbor in its proper cultural context and to eschew thinking racist thoughts about the Japanese.

I wonder what the recalculated number will look like a year from now, when they’ve pulled out all those dying with COVID, leaving only those who actually died from it.

Nothing from the Scarf Lady, but Former CDC Director Robert Redfield: The WHO Is 'Compromised’; Jon Stewart agrees
[PJ] Robert Redfield, the former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, told Fox News that he believes the COVID-19 pandemic most likely was caused by a lab leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and that the World Health Organized was "too compromised" to be fully transparent in their investigation into COVID’s origins.

"...I said before that I didn’t think it was biologically plausible that COVID-19 went from a bat to some unknown animal into man and now had become one of the most infectious viruses," Redfield told Fox News contributor Dr. Marc Siegel. "That’s not consistent with how other coronaviruses have come into the human species. And it does suggest that there’s an alternative hypothesis that it went from a bat virus, got into a laboratory, where, in the laboratory, it was taught, educated, it evolved, so that it became a virus that could efficiently transmit human to human."

Despite being written off as a conspiracy theory for nearly a year, the lab-leak theory, though not definitively proven, has been recognized as a legitimate theory. Last month, The Wall Street Journal reported that three researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology had developed severe COVID-like symptoms in November 2019. Since then, not only has Facebook reversed its policy banning articles alleging the virus was man-made, but Dr. Fauci admitted the theory could be true, and emails released by FOIA showed that Fauci was informed that the virus had "unusual features" that "potentially look manmade." and that he even briefed world leaders that the virus may have leaked from the lab.

Redfield lamented the scientific community’s "lack of openness" to "pursue both hypotheses."

Jon Stewart Hijacks Colbert Show With Lab-Leak Rant, Liberal Twitter Explodes

[Real Conservatives Unite] Comedian Jon Stewart overpowered Stephen Colbert’s ability to shill on Monday, hijacking the Late Show’s return to a live (and fully vaccinated) audience with an epic rant on the COVID-19 lab-leak theory.

"I think we owe a great debt of gratitude to science. Science has, in many ways, helped ease the suffering of this pandemic, which was more than likely caused by science," Stewart said after Colbert asked how he was feeling about the scientific response to COVID-19.

"Do you mean perhaps there’s a chance that this was created in a lab?" asked Colbert, adding "There’s an investigation."

"A chance?" shot back Stewart — kicking the door open.

"Oh my god, there’s a novel respiratory coronavirus overtaking Wuhan, China, what do we do? Oh, you know who we could ask? The Wuhan novel respiratory coronavirus lab. The disease is the same name as the lab. That’s just a little too weird, don’t you think? And then they asked those scientists — they’re like ’how did this... so wait a minute, you work at the Wuhan respiratory coronavirus lab. How did this happen?’ and they’re like ’mmmm — a pangolin kissed a turtle?’ and you’re like ’no... the name of your lab! If you look at the name! Can I... let me see your business card. Show me your business card. Oh — I work at the coronavirus lab in Wuhan. Oh, cause there’s a coronavirus loose in Wuhan. How did that happen?’

’Maybe a bat... flew into the Cloaca of a turkey and... then it sneezed into my chili. And now we all have Coronavirus."

Stewart landed one final joke as Colbert desperately tried to control the situation;

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Netanyahu unseated by a new generation of leaders he tried, and failed, to crush
Interesting points from a longer piece from a few days ago.
[IsraelTimes] Incoming coalition marks changing of the guard, pushing younger media-savvy politicians, many of whom were the premier’s apprentices, into power.

To most of the world, Prime Minister-designate Naftali Bennett is an unknown figure, a cipher. From Washington to London, Beijing to Moscow, every detail about him is being collected and scrutinized at this moment. Who is this 49-year-old right-wing nationalist, once Benjamin Netanyahu’s chief of staff, who is about to be inaugurated Israel’s next prime minister? One thing is certain — he lacks the mastery of the world stage enjoyed by his predecessor.

But there’s another thing the world should know: Profound changes are afoot in Israel.
Possibly...
The 36th government’s swearing-in signifies a changing of the guard. Though Netanyahu is likely to stick around, the new government will mark a major step in drawing to a close the era of a 71-year-old prime minister, born one year after the establishment of the state, while pushing Israel’s younger high-tech and media-savvy generation into power.

Bennett and Netanyahu are from an entirely different generation; the same goes for Bennett’s partner in the power-sharing government, Yair Lapid. Of all the 28 designated cabinet members, only one is near in age to Netanyahu: the next Diaspora affairs minister, Nachman Shai, 74.

While Netanyahu has been perceived throughout the years as a wizard of tech and media, many of his successors built their public fortune in the news industry. Lapid, Labor’s Merav Michaeli, Meretz’s Nitzan Horowitz, and New Hope’s Gideon Sa’ar all worked as news professionals as columnist, news hound or anchor.
Naftali Bennett made his nut as a software entrepreneur in the U.S.
Another common element worth dwelling on is that many of those about to unseat Netanyahu were his political apprentices.

Bennett was Netanyahu’s chief of staff, Yamina’s Ayelet Shaked was director of Netanyahu’s political office, and Avigdor Liberman was Likud’s director-general, a senior adviser to Netanyahu and a political partner when Likud and Yisrael Beytenu ran on a combined list in the 2013 elections. Blue and White head Benny Gantz was the IDF chief of staff under Netanyahu, Lapid was a senior minister in his 2013 government, and New Hope’s Sa’ar was Netanyahu’s cabinet secretary as well as a senior minister under him.

And further down the list of New Hope politicians, the connections continue: Ze’ev Elkin was a minister in Netanyahu’s cabinet as well as a confidant of the premier, Yoaz Hendel served as Netanyahu’s communication director and Zvi Hauser is a former cabinet secretary.

The politicians making up the foundations of Israel’s next coalition studied in Netanyahu’s academy, learning from the best.

This is the next generation of leaders. They reached this position thanks to him, but also despite him.

The new generation of leaders grew sick of living in the shadow of Netanyahu, a man who is apparently unable to give credit to others for successes. He failed to acknowledge others’ work and dedication, and was almost unable to delegate responsibilities or give anyone a free hand to act as they saw fit. And now, after many years, that centralization of power and egocentrism have played a key role in his removal from the stage.
That’s certainly one perspective.

My heal no longer hurt. So I reintroduced a cup of coffee and almost instantly my memory returned quite remarkably. This is an odd habit I have. I like to test things out.No cream or sugar. #13  I have had kidney stone attacks off & on for many years. I had been camping in NH and was driving back to OH when I had another attack. I was in the middle of nowhere. I had noticed super strong brews of coffee tended to relieve body aches, so I pulled off the road and brewed a super strong pot of coffee, downed it quick and somehow was able to keep driving. I found a Kmart about 30 miles down the road, bought some Aleve and Tylenol, took regular doses of both. Within about 30 more minutes, my kidney pain was substantially (but not totally) relieved. I was comfortable enough to continue to drive home. 12 hours later I was pain free, so the stone had probably passed by then. During the worst attack of my life, 15 years earlier, I received IV morphine with very little pain relief.

#14  In perfect reverent seriousness, thanks for the reminder that even if I'm not buying green bananas, I damn well need to be working a longterm kidney stone plan. When my immensely pain-indifferent dad was stricken in the middle of the night, he got to the ER as quick as my mom could drive him. Amazement all around.
