China-Japan-Koreas
China Denies Reports Of Bird Flu, Says There Are No Birds In China
[Babylon Bee] BEIJING—There have been reports of a human case of a rare bird flu in China, but Chinese officials have dismissed the report saying it’s impossible for bird flu to be in China as there are no birds there.

"It’s absurd to suggest there is bird flu in China because we have gotten rid of all birds," said Chinese President Xi Jinping at a press conference. "China has complete dominance of all of its skies — including in Taiwan which we are totally in control of — so no birds would dare intrude here. To suggest otherwise is more American lies — just like the lies that I look like Winnie the Pooh when I in fact look like a more rugged Timothée Chalamet."

Xi went on further to say that if anyone in China got sick, it was not bird flu but "totally regular flu" and that no weird diseases ever originate in China and everyone should stop looking into their Wuhan lab which is only working on "a new type of gum that never loses flavor."

The press conference was then interrupted by what looked like a number of doves flying overhead, but Xi said they were not birds but tiny airplanes flown by mice as part of their new advanced Chinese air force which could "fend off an attack from any entity, including the American Space Force."

#4  ...Interesting bit of trivia: the US Naval War College has continued to wargame Midway at least once a year since the late 40s.

They have never again been able to reproduce a US victory of any kind.

#6  If you can find a copy, Shattered Sword is about as close to the battle as you can get. The semi-fictional account in Herman Wouk's War and Rememberance is awesome.

But you can't do better than Churchill: "The annals of war at sea present no more intense, heart-shaking shock than this battle, in which the qualities of the United States Navy and Air Force and the American race shone forth in splendour. The bravery and self-devotion of the American airmen and sailors and the nerve and skill of their leaders was the foundation of all."

Government Corruption
Make Way for the Snitch State: The All-Seeing Fourth Branch of Government
"It is just when people are all engaged in snooping on themselves and one another that they become anesthetized to the whole process. As information itself becomes the largest business in the world, data banks know more about individual people than the people do themselves. The more the data banks record about each one of us, the less we exist.”

—Marshall McLuhan, From Cliche To Archetype

[RutherfordInst] We are being spied on by a domestic army of government snitches, spies and techno-warriors.

This government of Peeping Toms is watching everything we do, reading everything we write, listening to everything we say, and monitoring everything we spend.

Beware of what you say, what you read, what you write, where you go, and with whom you communicate, because it is all being recorded, stored, and catalogued, and will be used against you eventually, at a time and place of the government's choosing.

This far-reaching surveillance has paved the way for an omnipresent, militarized fourth branch of government—the Surveillance State—that came into being without any electoral mandate or constitutional referendum.

Indeed, long before the National Security Agency (NSA) became the agency we loved to hate, the Justice Department, the FBI, and the Drug Enforcement Administration were carrying out their own secret mass surveillance on an unsuspecting populace.

Even agencies not traditionally associated with the intelligence community are part of the government’s growing network of snitches and spies.

Just about every branch of the government—from the Postal Service to the Treasury Department and every agency in between—now has its own surveillance sector, authorized to spy on the American people. For instance, the U.S. Postal Service, which has been photographing the exterior of every piece of paper mail for the past 20 years, is also spying on Americans’ texts, emails and social media posts. Headed up by the Postal Service’s law enforcement division, the Internet Covert Operations Program (iCOP) is reportedly using facial recognition technology, combined with fake online identities, to ferret out potential troublemakers with "inflammatory" posts. The agency claims the online surveillance, which falls outside its conventional job scope of processing and delivering paper mail, is necessary to help postal workers avoid "potentially volatile situations."

It's Getting Creepily Nazi-Like in Here
[American Thinker] Seeing those giant "Black Lives Matter" flags being unfurled at embassies around the world last week was another "surely this can't be happening" moment for Americans watching the federal government's steady embrace of evil. It was as if Heinrich Himmler had risen from the grave to lead the Democratic Party in ordering the draping of Schutzstaffel (SS) flags over the entrances to civic buildings of conquered territories. Except all those embassies and consulates are on American soil, so the revolting reality was that the Marxist paramilitary "brownshirts" of BLM had succeeded in conquering the United States. It sent a shiver down my spine.

Antifa and BLM engineered months of violence and property destruction last year that eclipsed anything in America's history, but to this day, official state propaganda considers them "mostly peaceful" civil rights "protesters." Any organization that burns businesses to the ground, threatens homeowners, blocks traffic in order to instigate beat-downs on civilians, and routinely engages in violence and intimidation against fellow citizens is at war with civil society and stands opposed to civil liberties. And any government that proudly displays those black flags for the world to see is promoting hate and promising enmity, not peace or amity. The State Department might as well have run the Jolly Roger up its diplomatic flagpoles, because the skull and crossbones flown at sea conveys an identical message: no laws will be respected, no quarter will be given, and no lives or property will be spared. When the U.S. government hangs a pirate flag as prominently as the Stars and Stripes, the symbolism is hard to miss...

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Leb: Awaiting 'Historical Awareness' is Misguided
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers, a practice dating back to the heady human sacrifice days of Baal Moloch...
's suffering from one of the world’s three worst economic crises since the middle of the nineteenth century has not provided an incentive sufficient to compel the political clique imposing its control over the country to take steps to prevent the exacerbation of the comprehensive collapse.

The World Bank’s Lebanon Economic Monitor issued two reports, ’Lebanon Sinking (to the Top 3)’ -Spring 2021 and ’The Deliberate Depression’ -Fall 2020, which explain, without mincing words, the reality of the ongoing political and economic catastrophe. The new report, published in full on Tuesday, June 1, in English, completes the work that the previous report had begun, collecting more data about the situation in Lebanon.
