-Lurid Crime Tales-
The walls are closing in on Obama's spies
[DonSurber] Then the Mueller Report arrived. Now the walls are closing in on the spies and others who broke the law on behalf of Obama.

Kimberley A. Strassel of the Wall Street Journal wrote, "Barr gets attacked because his probe endangers powerful people."

(As I read that headline, I could have sworn I heard someone singing, "He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored.")
Strassel wrote, "Mr. Barr made real news in that Senate hearing, and while the press didn’t notice, Democrats did. The attorney general said he’d already assigned people at the Justice Department to assist his investigation of the origins of the Trump-Russia probe. He said his review would be far-reaching ‐ that he was obtaining details from congressional investigations, from the ongoing probe by the department’s inspector general, Michael Horowitz, and even from Mr. Mueller’s work. Mr. Barr said the investigation wouldn’t focus only on the fall 2016 justifications for secret surveillance warrants against Trump team members but would go back months earlier.

"He also said he’d focus on the infamous dossier concocted by opposition-research firm Fusion GPS and British former spy Christopher Steele, on which the FBI relied so heavily in its probe. Mr. Barr acknowledged his concern that the dossier itself could be Russian disinformation, a possibility he described as not "entirely speculative." He also revealed that the department has "multiple criminal leak investigations under way" into the disclosure of classified details about the Trump-Russia investigation.

"Do not underestimate how many powerful people in Washington have something to lose from Mr. Barr’s probe. Among them: Former and current leaders of the law-enforcement and intelligence communities. The Democratic Party pooh-bahs who paid a foreign national (Mr. Steele) to collect information from Russians and deliver it to the FBI. The government officials who misused their positions to target a presidential campaign. The leakers. The media. More than reputations are at risk. Revelations could lead to lawsuits, formal disciplinary actions, lost jobs, even criminal prosecution."

She has been one of the few voices of reason in a media filled with hysterical people who have a foaming-mouth hatred of Donald John Trump and now, every single one of his supporters. Witness the censoring of us on social media.

#1  Are these the same walls that had been closing in on Trump for the past 2+ years? Cause if so they never seem to get there.

#2  It's the same "arrests are coming for Deep State scumbags" that we've been hearing for the past two years. None of them ever get the cuffs slapped on them. It's a joke.

Yeah, I'll believe it after it happens. We keep hearing how the rank and file at the FBI are stand-up guys, but in a large organization, the guys at the top set the tone and the culture flows downhill. You may say 'to-may-to', but if your boss says 'to-mah-to', then 'to-mah-to' it is.

#7  The Australian article makes it clear we need to recognize the risks to the 5way program as well as their willingness to support the deep state here.

Hell Freezes Over As The New York Times Says “Give Trump His Border Money”
[Right Scoop] I had to double take at this headline.

The New York Times has endorsed giving Trump the $4.5B he requested in funds for the border. Not just a single writer either, it’s the whole editorial board.

The New York Times editorial board urged Congress to give President Trump the administration’s requested $4.5 billion in emergency funding for the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.
"President Trump is right: There is a crisis at the southern border," the editorial board wrote Sunday in a piece titled, "Congress, Give Trump his Border Money."
Crisis is the santizied word liberals like to use about the border because they are loathe to say "emergency" and possibly give Trump any credit. We all know what it is though. Over 100,000 people crossed illegally last month. The CPB don’t have the manpower or resources to handle the situation. Our asylum laws are being abused at a ridiculous level and Congress refuses to act.

If what’s going on at the border isn’t an emergency, then the word has lost all meaning.

#1  The money isn't for the wall. It's for border jumper welfare. Bus the invaders to Manhattan and them take care of them.
Posted by: Chuckles Clunk6860 || 05/07/2019 7:16 Comments || Top||

#2  Yeah, a crisis, just not the one the wacko Trump says it is. Hell didn't freeze over, it's been renamed.

#3  For the left, an emergency would be that Trump has cut off the flow of illegal potential Dem voters or that he cut off the flow of cartel drugs into the U.S.

He's trying despite all the Dem pushback.

Google – the New Thought Police
[357] Google is about the same as F*c*book. They want everyone to think the same thoughts. Algorithms of Suppression.
The Claremont Institute has launched a campaign to engage our fellow citizens in discussion and debate about what it means to be an American. As part of that effort, we have begun to point out the increasingly existential danger of identity politics and political correctness to our republic. As if to prove our point, Google has judged our argument as wrongthink that should be forbidden. They are now punishing us for our political thought by refusing to let us advertise to our own readers.

Soon anyone espousing anything like "conservative values" will be blocked from Google, F*c*book and Twitter. Because you dare to disagree with your masters in Tech, so you will be silenced.

Hat tip to The Other McCain, who notes
Google, like the mainstream media establishment, has decided that President Trump’s election proves that freedom of speech is dangerous, and so anything that might conceivably prevent the election of a Democrat in 2020 must be suppressed as some form of "hate speech."

And also to Instapundit, who notes that Google dropped "Don’t Be Evil" and went to Full Evil.

And you can Live Without Google. Or mostly, anyway.

An Empire of Bullshi*
[James Howard Kunstler] After two years of gaslighting the public while it blew smoke up America’s ass, the Jacobin news media enjoyed its final feeding frenzy with the release of the 400-page Mueller report. They expected 1000 pounds of raw filet mignon, but it turned out to be tofu fried in olestra. The ensuing fugue of hyperventilating hysteria was also duly expected and William Barr stoically endured their hebephrenic peevings at the release ceremony ‐ a press conference which itself offended the media.

The threats and raving continued all the livelong day and far into the peeper-filled night with CNN’s Chris Cuomo blustering "It’s time to rumble," and the lugubrious hack David Gergen muttering soulfully, "This was not fake news," and The Times’ Maggie Haberman fuming that the White House had played the "Nazi anthem" Edelweiss ‐ very fake news, it turned out, since the tune was written for Rodgers’ and Hammerstein’s 1959 Broadway show, The Sound of Music (and sung by the anti-Nazi hero Baron von Trapp). Meanwhile Rachel Maddow had the balls to confab in prime time with disgraced former FBI mandarin Andy McCabe, officially identified as a liar by his own colleagues at the agency. What a circus of perfidious freakery!
Read on, it gets better.

#1  No surprise that there is so much pushback by HRC backers who thought she had the election rigged and in the bag.

At this point I wouldn't be all that surprised if someone discovered that Obean was a fraud with phony credentials who was placed in the WH by Brennan.

GA Gov On Heartbeat Bill: 'I Don't Care What Hollywood Thinks'
[Think Americana] Wow, I am proud to say that I am from the great Peach State! Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has all but told Hollywood to shove their liberal opinions where the sun don’t shine.

On Tuesday, he is set to sign the "heartbeat" bill, or the H.B. 481 bill, which means a woman cannot legally get an abortion after a heartbeat is detected. This will save THOUSANDS, if not millions, of lives since the heartbeat is detectable between five to six weeks of life.

Hollywood has signed petitions and threatened to boycott filming in Georgia if the Governor signs the bill. However, he said that he is not worried about that in the slightest.

"I can’t govern because I’m worried about what someone in Hollywood thinks about me. I ran the last two years on these issues, and I got elected with the largest number of votes in the history of the state of Georgia," Kemp said.

He added, "I’m doing what I told people I would do ... Our business environment’s good. We cannot change our values of who we are for money. And we’re not going to do that. That’s what makes our state great."

"I do not think it will hurt the film industry in Georgia or any other business whatsoever," Kemp continued, "Us sticking up for our Georgia values and protecting life is not going to protect a bad business environment in Georgia, I can promise you."

Planned Parenthood’s Staci Fox retorted that they are "coming for" Kemp for this. She threatened, "We warned them ‐ we will see you in court, Governor Kemp. And we are coming for their seats."

#1  I doubt that this will stand up in court.

This is because of the 'undue burden' standard established by Casey v Planned Parenthood

#2  We cannot change our values of who we are for money.

That is directly contradictory to the "principles" of the Left, Hollywood and Democrats, pardon the redundancy.

#3  I'm hoping for some production company to film in Georgia for the tax breaks only to get into a big brew-ha-ha with an actor over filming there:
It was in the contract and you signed
I wasn't woke then!

#5  I'm hoping for some production company to film in Georgia

As far as I am concerned Pinewood Studios and all the rest can move back to where they came from. They've only brought in liberals and communists.
