Woke Arizona State University students accuse college of 'persecuting' THEM
  • [Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Two students at Arizona State University have been found 'guilty' of 'interfering with university activities' after they harassed two white students

  • The men were studying inside a 'multicultural learning space' at Arizona State last September and displaying an anti-Biden shirt and Police Lives Matter sticker

  • One also toted a Chick-Fil-A cup, in what the female students disciplined maintain was an attempt to taunt them

  • Activists Mastaani Qureshi, an undergraduate and Sarra Tekola a graduate student said the stickers and t-shirt was 'offensive' and ordered them to leave

  • Qureshi and Tekola have been reprimanded by the university and told to write a paper on how they would behave differently in a similar situation next time

  • The pair claim ASU to be a place where 'marginalized students' are ignored

#1  Qureshi and Tekola have been reprimanded by the university and told to write a paper on how they would behave differently in a similar situation next time

That's harsh.

Much harder tho would have been forcing them to write the same sentence correctly a dozen different ways with proper usage of indicative, subjunctive, future, past, present progressive, past subjunctive, future etc moods and tenses. They'd have been out of action for a year.

‘Don't Look Up' movie review: A Trumpian Attack on America's Corrupt Establishment
[Breitbart] Co-writer, director Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up will accidentally please establishment-hating Trump fans. Of course, that might sound counter-intuitive considering all the This-is-about-Global-Warming! hype around it. The truth, though, is that (except for a few minutes), Don’t Look Up is such a brutal attack on the media, D.C., Big Tech, the FBI, and the ethically-compromised scientific community, Trump himself could have produced it.

The plot is pretty straightforward. Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawrence) is a Midwestern Ph.D. candidate observing the skies who discovers an unknown comet. At first, she’s excited. This is an amazing find, and the comet will be named after her. But during the big celebration that follows, her professor, Dr. Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio), does the math and discovers the Dibiasky Comet will destroy the planet in about six months.

From here, Kate and Randall, two very smart but down-to-earth people from the rustbelt, attempt to sound the alarm. They start with the White House, then the media, then social media, then raising awareness through celebrities, then, then, then…

The good news is that there’s enough time to save the earth. The bad news is that 1) no one wants to acknowledge this reality, and 2) our media/political/Big Tech/celebrity/science establishment are so compromised and self-involved, nothing happens.

#2  Don’t Look Up is a half-hour too long and never all that funny. It’s also not terribly deep — nothing close to a Network (1976) or Dr. Strangelove (1964). You’re basically watching a series of skits.

With a couple of dumb, over-indulgent post-credit scenes, McKay also steps all over what would have been a perfect ending. We really did have it all.

This is true. Still, there were many times I thought dang, how did they get away with making this? There were some yokel moments thrown in as what looked more like foils but for the most part brutal. If it was supposed to be a Trump hit piece, it earns the coveted Paul Verhoeven Award.

Arizona Providing $7K to Families Facing 'Educational Barriers' Amid School Closures
[Townhall] Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) announced Tuesday families could receive $7,000 as part of the launch of a new program designed to help families struggling with "educational barriers" as a result of school closures.

Funds received through the Open for Learning Recovery Benefit program would be used for childcare, transportation, tutoring and school tuition needs approved by the Arizona Department of Economic Security.

And families who meet certain income requirements could also use the money to send their children to another school if their school closes for even one day.

"In Arizona, we’re going to ensure continued access to in-person learning," Ducey said in a press release. "Everyone agrees that schools should stay open and kids need to be in the classroom. With this announcement, we are making sure parents and families have options if a school closes its doors. Parents are best suited to make decisions about their child’s education."

"In-person learning is vital for the development, well-being and educational needs of K-12 students," he continued. "We will continue to work with families, public health experts and school leaders to ensure our kids can stay in the classroom and parents have a choice — always."

In March 2021, Ducey introduced a plan requiring schools to resume in-person instruction.

#16  #14 Putin invading to "restore order"?

Ironically, the US has post-9/11 had at least as much military presence in the 'stans as Russia .

From the official House Organ of the Magoo Administration, published in April and "updated" in Sept., the brass was looking to relocate troops to Kazakhstan among other Central Asian countries.:

WASHINGTON — American troops are set to leave Afghanistan no later than Sept. 11, but the Pentagon, American spy agencies and Western allies are refining plans to deploy a less visible but still potent force in the region to prevent the country from again becoming a terrorist base.

Drawing on the hard lessons from President Barack Obama’s decision a decade ago to withdraw American troops from Iraq — allowing the rise of the Islamic State three years later — the Pentagon is discussing with allies where to reposition forces, possibly to neighboring Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, according to United States officials.

#22  Joe and Hunter Biden know Kazakhstan intimately.

Hunter Biden also had business dealings in Kazakhstan

"Between 2012 and 2014 — when his father Joe Biden served as Vice President — Hunter Biden worked as a go-between to Kenes Rakishev, a Kazakh oligarch with close ties to the country’s longtime kleptocratic leader Nursultan Nazarbayev, The Daily Mail reported.

"The British tabloid said they obtained emails from “anti-corruption campaigners” in Kazakhstan showing Hunter making contact with Rakishev and attempting to facilitate investment for his cash in New York, Washington DC and a Nevada mining company.

"Through his connections, emails show Hunter Biden successfully engineered a $1 million investment from Rakishev to filmmaker Alexandra Forbes Kerry — the daughter of John Kerry, the report said. ..."

#23  #8 [Kazakhstan is the] world's largest producer of uranium

Our kakocratic elites have made bank in Kazakhstan for years.

Hillary Clinton and her husband are also intimately acquainted with Kazakhstan and its minerals-based commercial opportunities.

"In January 2013, the Russian atomic energy agency, Rosatom, [took] over a Canadian company with uranium-mining stakes stretching from Central Asia to the American West. The deal made Rosatom one of the world’s largest uranium producers and brought Mr. Putin closer to his goal of controlling much of the global uranium supply chain.

"...[Tony Giustra and other ] major donors to the charitable endeavors of former President Bill Clinton and his family... built, financed and eventually sold off to the Russians a company that would become known as Uranium One. Beyond mines in Kazakhstan that are among the most lucrative in the world, the sale gave the Russians control of one-fifth of all uranium production capacity in the United States.

"Since uranium is considered a strategic asset, with implications for national security, the deal had to be approved by a committee [ including ] the State Department, then headed by Hillary Clinton.

"...Uranium One’s chairman used his family foundation to make four donations totaling $2.35 million. Those contributions were not publicly disclosed by the Clintons, despite an agreement Mrs. Clinton had struck with the Obama White House to publicly identify all donors.

"And shortly after the Russians announced their intention to acquire a majority stake in Uranium One, Mr. Clinton received $500,000 for a Moscow speech from a Russian investment bank with links to the Kremlin that was promoting Uranium One stock.

State of Emergency Regime introduced in Kazakhstan
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin

See also here and here.
[ColonelCassad] Tokayev has officially introduced a state of emergency in Alma-Ata and the Mangistau region.

The emergency mode starts from 01-30 January 5 and will last until 0:00 on January 19.

This regime significantly expands the capabilities of the police and internal troops to suppress protests.

The text of the law can be found here.

The powers of the security forces are more than broad.

Currently, truncheons, stun grenades, rubber bullets and special riot control equipment are used to suppress protests. We keep in mind that in the 2000s, the authorities did not hesitate to shoot protesters in Zhanaozen.

Protests in Kazakhstan. Night:
By nightfall, the situation began to aggravate, in some cities there are clashes between protesters and the police (in Astana they burned a police car), which uses non-lethal special equipment.

The opposition calls not to weaken the pressure on the authorities, as it understands perfectly well that the protests will end, and a sweep will begin like in Belarus.

The authorities are trying to maintain control over the situation in large cities and reduce the degree of protest by promising economic concessions to the protesters.

Protests in Kazakhstan. Evening
Short videos and maps featured at the link (All in Russian)
By the evening of January 4, protests in Kazakhstan spread to the capital of the country, where a significant number of local residents (apparently several thousand) came out to rallies and marches around the city with not only economic but also political demands.

The protests are being managed by the Democratic Party of Kazakhstan, run by a former minister in one of Nazarbayev’s governments. The main oppositionist of Kazakhstan at home is accused of contract murder and embezzlement of funds, lives in France, but calls on the military and police "to go over to the side of the people."

As the example of Kyrgyzstan shows, a criminal candidate, this is practically the norm. It is also worth noting that among the organizers of the protest is an organization with the wonderful name "Halyk Maidany".

In fact, the government of Kazakhstan set fire to dry protest brushwood by the increase in gas prices, but now many will use the resulting conflagration. Including criminals from France, but not only them.

In fact, the trigger for the protests was the rise in gas prices from 60 to 120 tenge, that is, the economic policy of the government of Kazakhstan. The fact that various forces will use this is already a consequence.

Hasty attempts to roll gas prices back (up to promises to make gas at 50 tenge) are of course insufficient, since the demands gradually cease from economic to political, in fact, calling into question the system that Nazarbayev has been building since the early 90s. Let's see how Tokayev & Co. manages to steer out of this ravine.

In my opinion, the authorities will choose a combined strategy: on the one hand, they will make some economic concessions in order to bring down the degree of protest and tear off the gaseous cloud of protesters from the rally core, but attempts to use force from the protesters will prepare a tough rebuff.

So far, the authorities are restricting access to the Internet in the capital and a number of rebellious cities, and additional police forces are being pulled in in case of active clashes with protesters when they try to block the center of the country's capital and seize the administrative quarter and administrations in large cities.

The very same instability in Kazakhstan hardly came as some kind of surprise, it has been noted more than once that the very logic of the Cold War will generate active instability along the entire perimeter of the Russian Federation. Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan. Now Kazakhstan's turn has come. The hour is not far off for the magic kingdom of Berdymukhamedov.

The Russian Federation and China, of course, are not too interested in uncontrollable processes in Kazakhstan, considering what is happening, including through the prism of preserving their investments in Kazakhstan and preventing the Americans from using the situation in Kazakhstan in the struggle for control over Central Asia.

But how, instead of the understandable Nazarbayev and Tokayev, some "democrat" ala Pashinyan comes, and then shovel the consequences, especially after fleeing from Afghanistan, the Americans are looking for a country in Central Asia where a permanent air force base could be deployed. Here we immediately recall Kyrgyzstan, from which, after the color revolution of 2005, the American base was squeezed out for a long time.

Plus, the problem of Northern Kazakhstan and the Russian population living there may become aggravated. So for the Russian Federation this is certainly not just an "internal problem of a neighboring state." In certain scenarios, it can also become a problem for the Russian Federation.

Fake President uses fake oval office set
[WIRE] President Joe Biden on Monday once again used his fake Oval Office for a televised speech, this time using a green screen behind his desk to show a snowy wonderland that mirrored what was happening in Washington, D.C.

Biden has used the phony office — located across a parking lot in the Eisenhower Office Building (formerly the Old Executive Office Building and before that known as the State, War, and Navy Building) — in the past, but as before, its use drew questions.

Tim Murtaugh, the former communications director for President Donald Trump, took to Twitter to ponder why he uses it.

"Has there been an explanation for why they built a fake White House set for Biden across the street from the real White House? The other day there were shipping containers outside the window. Today it’s a winter wonderland. Just bizarre and phony," he wrote.

Pak legal fraternity threatens boycott on elevation of 1st woman SC judge
“Girls are icky.”
GREATERKASHMIR] Pakistain's legal fraternity has called on Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed to postpone Thursdays meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistain to consider the elevation of Justice Ayesha A. Malik of the Lahore High Court (LHC) to the apex court, Dawn news reported. In case the meeting is not called off, the Pakistain Bar Council (PBC) and all bar associations would boycott all court proceedings, from the superior judiciary to the lower courts.

This was announced by PBC Vice Chairman Khushdil Khan and PBC Executive Committee Chairman Muhammad Masood Chishti and others after a representative meeting on Monday.

Thursday's session of the JCP was summoned after the Chief Justice once again proposed the name of Justice Malik for elevation.

The last time this question came before the JCP on September 9, 2021, a lack of consensus during an extended meeting forced the commission to defer the appointment of Justice Malik, who is fourth in the seniority order of the LHC, to enter the Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
as the first-ever woman judge in the country's judicial history.
