Bangladesh
The world's largest migrant camp: More than a MILLION Rohingya refugees live in makeshift homes spread across five square miles in Bangladesh after fleeing oppression in Myanmar
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News]
  • Rohingya are a Muslim ethnic group, more than 700,000 of whom fled persecution and violence in Myanmar

  • Bangladesh has been sheltering 1.1 million refugees in crowded camps near its coast, such as Kutupalong

  • Incredible aerial photographs have revealed the true scale of camp that stretches as far as the eye can see

  • The camp is split by bright orange roads that separate makeshift houses with red, green and blue roofs

  • But now, Bangladesh has started relocating hundreds of Rohingya to an island in the Bay of Bengal, despite concerns from rights groups over conditions on the vulnerable low-lying island

52 die in mine explosion in the Kuzbass
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Kuzbass is in southwest Siberia

By Alexander Kryazhev

[RIA Novosti] According to preliminary data, 52 people, including six rescuers, became victims of the accident at the Listvyazhnaya mine in Kuzbass, an emergency services representative told RIA Novosti.

The reason for the emergency, according to Deputy Prosecutor General Dmitry Demeshin , was a methane explosion caused by a spark and the subsequent dynamic blow that injured the miners.

As part of the investigation, the 47-year-old director of the mine, his 59-year-old first deputy and 36-year-old site manager were detained, according to the UK website.

"It was established that the detainees violated the industrial safety requirements of hazardous production facilities. As a result, a gas-dynamic phenomenon occurred. The smoke of the ventilation drift of section No. 4 began, as a result of which the workers in the mine suffocated," the message says.

A criminal case was opened under the article "Violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence." It can face up to seven years in prison.

The accident at the Listvyazhnaya mine in Kuzbass

On Thursday, at about 08:30 (04:30 Moscow time), an explosion and smoke occurred at the plant located in Belovo . There were 285 people underground at the time of the emergency, most of them were brought to the surface.

According to the regional authorities, 13 people have been examined and are being treated on an outpatient basis, 38 are in hospitals.

The Listvyazhnaya mine belongs to the SDS-Ugol holding , one of the top 3 coal producers in the country, and is developing the reserves of the Egozovo-Krasnoyarsk deposit. The company will provide assistance to the families of the victims.

The region has declared three days of mourning.

According to Boris Rozhin (via Komsomol Pravda, Novosibersk):

"There was gas inside. Absolutely everyone knew about this, of course, the bosses were also aware. But we were forced to go down there by order , '' one of the miners told KP-Novosibirsk (the guy asked not to give his name).

They said: "Work, if something does not suit you - leave." People went to work, money is needed ... Gas and became the reason for the smoke.

Our interlocutor himself says that he considers it a miracle that he survived. Today is his day off, he did not go down to the mine. But one of the miners from his site had to leave on this particular shift.

Russian Duma strips immunity from deputy accused of poaching
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] The State Duma agreed to the deprivation of immunity from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Valery Rashkin, and the initiation of a criminal case against him, a REGNUM correspondent reports on November 25. The decision was made by 341 deputies, 55 were against, two abstained from voting.

The submission was sent to the State Duma by the Prosecutor General's Office. Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov asked the State Duma to agree to prosecute Rashkin under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code, which provides for punishment for illegal hunting committed by a person using his official position or by a group of persons by prior conspiracy or an organized group, or causing particularly large damage.

For this, in particular, a fine is provided in the amount of 500 thousand to one million rubles or imprisonment for a term of three to five years. Particularly large damage is considered to be damage in excess of 120 thousand rubles.

Also, Rashkin can be held administratively liable for refusing a medical examination.

"There can be no talk of any political background here," Krasnov said.

The procedure is necessary to start conducting legal proceedings, for example, conducting interviews, interrogations, and so on.

Earlier, the State Duma commission on mandate issues supported the presentation of the Prosecutor General.

Rashkin is accused of illegal hunting in the Saratov region; an elk carcass was found in the car where the parliamentarian was.

The KPRF considers the "Rashkin case" politically motivated.

"We would have allowed a hundred moose to kill": Zhirinovsky provoked a scandal

[REGNUM] The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, State Duma Deputy Vladimir Zhirinovsky, explained the support of the Prosecutor General's submission to deprive the deputy of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Valery Rashkin of parliamentary immunity, a REGNUM correspondent reports on November 25.

In general, according to Zhirinovsky, Rashkin did not ask the faction to refuse the Prosecutor General in this matter. Secondly, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia evaluates the communists not by the killing of this unfortunate elk, but by the general impression of their destructive activities over the past 100 years.

“I have already said: the elk is nonsense. We would have allowed you to kill a hundred moose, but save the lives of millions of our citizens, they are not among us, they are not. And 14,000 killed in the Donbass and in Afghanistan - it's all on your conscience ... Here in this hall Zyuganov forced us to vote for the Treaty of Friendship with Ukraine, he, only the Communists, I was against," Zhirinovsky recalled.

"That is, you are doing everything with criminal intent, you have been torturing for 120 years - from the first Russian revolution to the present day. You have raised the generation that today is following this ... Morgenstern," he is indignant.

"You will never wash yourself off, all of Europe is against you today. This is because of you. You staged Russophobia, you made the whole planet angry," says Zhirinovsky and predict a ban on left-wing parties.

These words of his met with the reaction of the conference room.

"A shame! A shame! A shame!" - chant the "left".

The State Duma gave its consent to the deprivation of immunity of the deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Rashkin.

Russian warship horns in on Norwegian naval exercise
By Thomas Nilsen

[BarentsObserver] The large warship “Vice-Admiral Kulakov”, the navy tug “Altai” and the military tanker “Akademik Pashin” were not in a hurry when sailing outside Vesterålen, northern Norway Wednesday and Thursday this week.

A few nautical miles closer to the shore is the Norwegian Navy’s annual FLOTEX 21 exercise underway. 14 Norwegian and NATO allied ships and submarines are participating in the two-week drill taking place in the fjords inside Andøya and the waters outside. Andøya is currently home to the airbase with Norwegian and allied maritime patrol aircrafts keeping track of Russian submarines sailing out from the strategically important Kola Peninsula.

"Vice-Admiral Kulakov" has been on a world-ocean voyage since late June, sailing the Mediterranean with visits to Syria, Algeria and Cyprus, as well as conducting anti-piracy guarding of civilian shipping off the coast of Africa and the Gulf of Guinea in the Atlantic Ocean. Now, the warship is en route home to Severomorsk, the main base of the Russian Northern Fleet north of Murmansk.

"… the crew of the large anti-submarine ship Vice-Admiral Kulakov will complete a number of combat training missions in the Norwegian and Barents Seas," the press service of the Northern Fleet says.

The naval tanker "Akademik Pashin" was the only of the three Northern Fleet vessels sailing with the AIS turned on when passing Andøya late Wednesday evening. Screenshot from Vesselfinder.com

From Severomorsk, the Northern Fleet reports that the support ships will sail to home port sooner than the "Vice-Admiral Kulakov." The ships were not together Thursday morning.

The Norwegian Armed Forces says in a press statement that the aim of FLOTEX 21 is to build combat power and increase warfare capability in northern waters.

"To achieve this goal, large parts on the exercise focuses on anti-submarine warfare and submarine hunting," the statement reads.

Navy Commander Trond Gimmingsrud says this is the largest naval exercise in Norway this year.

Activists strike world's largest e-tailer on Black Friday
Hard not to snicker at Amazon being eaten by the monster it helped create.
NB: Extinction Rebellion is yet another tentacle of Antifa.
[RT] Climate activists Extinction Rebellion have disrupted Amazon’s operations, targeting 15 of its fulfilment depots across the world, while warehouse workers and delivery drivers have started a strike in Germany, France, and Italy.

On what is traditionally the online retailer’s busiest day of the year, the group has blocked the entrance to depots in the US, UK, Germany, and the Netherlands, unfurling banners reading, "Amazon crime", "Infinite growth, finite planet" and "Black Friday exploits people and planet". It says it has targeted the company for stoking excessive consumption that harms the environment and emitting carbon rivaling that of a country the size of Denmark. Amazon has also fallen foul of trade unions in Europe’s biggest economies, which claim the company underpays its employees and evades taxes.

In Germany, Amazon’s second-biggest market, around 2,500 employees went on strike at three fulfilment centers, according to the Verdi union, and strikes are also underway in France and Italy.
And, in an amazing effort to appease the mob...
Amazon did not directly address the protests, but stated that it takes its responsibilities "very seriously," including its aim to be net zero by 2040, but acknowledges that "there is always more to do."
So someone has yet to learn that you can never appease the mob - you just make them hungrier like releasing blood in a school of starving [for attention] sharks..
BTW: Extinction is an entirely natural process.

Smithsonian's new FUTURES exhibit asks visitors when we'll see 'single global government'
[Just The News] The Smithsonian Institution's new FUTURES exhibit asks attendees when they think we will see a "single global government."

The global government question appears on a screen inside the exhibit that allows visitors to wave their hands in front of a camera to select an answer to the questions that show up.

"When might there be a single global government?" reads the question.

The answers that someone can choose from include time frames ranging from 10 years to 100 years or never.

Another question on the screen at the exhibit asks the public: "Which of these might unite different people most effectively?"

The answers that users can select include "shared world government, virtual reality travel, a universal language, an alien invasion or none of the above."

The global government question evokes parallels to the news that the Biden administration has reached an agreement with other G-20 countries on a global minimum corporate tax.

The FUTURES exhibit is located in the Smithsonian's Arts and Industries Building (AIB) in Washington, D.C., which has been closed to the public for 20 years. The museum's grand opening was Nov. 20. Some sponsors for the exhibit include Ford, Oracle, Amazon Web Services, Comcast NBC Universal and the NFL.

‘Feels Like A Ruse’ - Starlink Customers Angered By Massive Delay, Some Want Money Back
[ZeroHedge] Starlink, Elon Musk's internet space company, emailed customers late Tuesday night who put down a $100 deposit to secure a dish were being delayed for up to a year or more. Only days ago, Starlink customers reported on the Starlink account portal homepage that their expected order delivery time was late 2021.

The delay comes as no surprise. Musk is a notorious salesman who overpromises and underdelivers for some of his companies, especially Tesla. Last month, the world's richest man told Starlink users, "Should be nationwide rollout by the end of the month."

Once again Zerohedge publishes an opinion pretending to be news.
Posted by: Too Old To Work || 11/26/2021 9:45 Comments || Top||

#3  I expect to see a lot more Elon Musk hit pieces after the failure of various lawsuits to impede SpaceX.

As I understand, the Starlink rollout has two bottlenecks: building the receivers and launching the satellite constellations. The launches seem to be proceeding apace, but producing the receivers has been a problem for some time, even before the chip shortage. Recently, the boxes were redesigned to make them cheaper and easier to produce.

Once they get connected, Starlink customers seem to be happy.
The fact that demand for broadband service is insane only compounds the problems.
Posted by: SteveS || 11/26/2021 10:31 Comments || Top||

#4  One of the holdups is they are intentionally holding back satellite launches, because the ground boxes aren't dense enough on the ground to make more sats cost efficient. The satellites have a definent lifespan and have to be replaced on a schedule. That's why they are flown in 'clouds'. It's also why it's tied into a launch company; it couldn't be worked otherwise.

WHO calls special meeting to discuss new Covid variant found in South Africa with ‘a large number of mutations'
[CNBC]
  • WHO is monitoring a new Covid variant, scheduling a special meeting Friday to discuss what it may mean for vaccines and treatments, officials said.

  • The variant, called B.1.1.529, has been detected in South Africa in small numbers.

  • South African scientists have detected 30 mutations to the spike protein, the part of the virus that binds to cells in the body, which could have implications for vaccine efficacy and transmissibility.

But I also have to ask...
Give data for the last 28 Days.

South Africa
Cases in 28 days: 31,386
Deaths in 28 days: 667
A 2.12% Infection to Death rate

Michigan (USA)
Cases in 28 days: 181,849
Deaths in 28 days: 1,718
A 00.94 of 1% Infection to Death rate

USA
Cases in 28-Day: 2,275,673
Deaths in 28 days: 31,061
A 1.36% to Infection to Death rate.

Note: Since Jan. 2020 the USA Totals are: 48,126,574 claimed infections / 775,797 "Claimed Deaths", or a 1.61% Infection to Death rate.

(source: John Hopkins )

Plus we are also told C-19/21 infections are DOWN -8% nationwide. So I have to ask, given surrounding states don't yet have the same infection rates, and it is just the Michigan area. Which we know is a common relocation point for certain ethic/religious groups.

Was our CDC & Biden handlers asleep again and did their OPEN BORDER lax immigration enforcement contribute to this new latest sure to be Media Panic?

All the analysts have price targets that are 70-120% above current levels -- not including the 11% dividend.

Merry Christmas!

#8  As of today, after almost 23 Months USA population
HAS NOT BEEN INFECTED

As of Nov 18th roughly 194,748,000+/- people or about 59% of the population have been fully vaccinated.

Since 86% has never been infected MINUS the 59% that has been VAX'ed it EQUALS roughly 27%+/- of the USA population has NEVER BEEN VAX'd and has never caught the C-19.

So what is this 27% doing that we all need to copy?

Some, perhaps all of that 27% have not yet been exposed, NN2N1, or not exposed enough to become infected.

#12  tw, it's also possible that some people had it, but the symptoms were so mild they never noticed, or at least never bothered to even get tested.

#2  Well the results will be interesting as things are happening now. The natural response of people will be to avoid medical care. Compliance is out the window. Healthcare has become unhealthy. The perception is "First do no harm" is out the window. As with politicians, Democrats and media now coupled with medical they all look alike now.
