Preacher slapped with fine for insulting Egyptian actress
[Al Ahram] An Egyptian misdemeanors court on Wednesday slapped controversial preacher Khaled Abdullah with a suspended fine of LE10,000 for slandering and defaming Egyptian actress Hala Fakher.

Abdulla will only have to pay the fine in the event that he commits a similar infraction within the next three years.

The veteran actress filed the lawsuit against the preacher after he had insulted her during his television programme on the religious Al-Nass channel, and made offensive comments about her in a weekly newspaper.

Abdullah, notorious for his foul-mouthed language and mockery of opposition and liberal figures, hurled insults at the actress for a comment she made in favour of Mubarak-era prime minister Ahmed Shafiq.

Last November, a court ordered the infamous preacher's show taken off the air for a 25-day period. The ruling came within the context of a defamation lawsuit against Abdullah filed by former police officer Amr Affifi.

In recent months, a number of Egyptian public figures have filed lawsuits against religious preachers, often accusing them of defamation.

Abdullah Badr, another acid-tongued preacher, was also recently convicted and incarcerated for insulting popular Egyptian actress Elham Shaheen.

In December of last year, Badr was sentenced to one year in jail with bail set at LE20,000.

Shaheen brought the case against Badr after he had accused her on his television show of 'promoting adultery' in her films. His programme, which airs on the religious Hafez channel, was also suspended for a one-month period.

#2  Same people in charge who ignore the threat of Islamic behaviors inherit with their own book, ignore the 'war by other means' by the Chinese operating by their premise of the Divine Kingdom's place in the world.

#3  We are managed by people who, literally, cannot imagine America as they inherited it ending, and cannot see the destruction their soft-headed ideology is doing to the Republic. The greatest nation ever conceived by man is being done in by naive fools and the generations of sloth grown of ignorance and complacency grown from the sacrifices of our grandparents and theirs. Heartbreaking to see .....

Touring the gun factory that's leaving Connecticut
Synopsis: A view of small firearms firm, typical of the small New England factories I knew and worked in ages ago.

The company is hiring, salaries are good, production has doubled and orders are backlogged a "few years". It's a situation pleasantly different from the rest of Connecticut's economy.

But it's not just the business' condition that's at odds with the State. It's its product. And that's why it's moving.

#1  The staff confronted the armed Newtowne, Conneticut intruder when he was trying to enter the building. They were unarmed, the intruder was armed. It is criminal that they were unarmed. But Conneticut doubled down on being even more unarmed after the Newtowne massacre of the staff and children. Liberals aren't just mentally ill, they are completely insane.

#5  I saw Florida, Texas - at least two places including Mineral Wells - and Mississippi as well.

Connecticut will likely lose a few more. PRT merely has been the most open about it.
