At Least 28 Shot Thanksgiving Weekend in Lori Lightfoot's Chicago
[BREITBART] At least 28 people were shot, five of them fatally, Thanksgiving weekend in Mayor Lori Lightfoot
...the diminutive and vacuous Heronner da Mare of Chicago. When the corpse count rises she blames the guns, which are banned anyway...
’s (D) reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
Breitbart News noted that 19 people were shot Friday into Saturday night alone, and four of those shooting victims shuffled off the mortal coil.

ABC 7 / Chicago Sun-Times reported that the number of fatalities reached five by the time the weekend was over.

At 7:50 p.m. Saturday night a 40-year-old man was shot in the head "while on the street in the 4700 block of West Harrison Street." The 40-year-old was transported to the hospital, where he died.

Breitbart News observed at least 22 people were shot, three of them fatally, during the weekend November 18-20, 2022.

Six-hundred-thirty people have been killed in Chicago so far this year, according to the Sun-Times, and there is still more than a month left before the year is over.

#2  We must remember, Chicago is a Top 5 STRICT US Gun Control city. Where common honest citizens have a near zero chance of legally having a firearm for self-protection. Where Criminal don't follow the law, and the average response time for citizen calls clocks in at about 13 minutes.

BTW: Using Ill Dept of Health data & NYT published reports. From May 17, 2022 to today. As many Chicagoans, have died from Gun Shots as have claimed to have died from Covid-19.

Hacking Public EV Chargers
[HACKADAY] While digging into "How to Hack WIFI Operated Police Assault / Bomb Disposal Robots", I came across something also interesting.

How To Hack Public EV Chargers.

Examples:
"A charger fitted with a card skimmer could lead to a criminal compromising the credit cards of a few hundred users. "

Or "Open web configuration pages could let a hacker disable chargers or cancel user sessions in progress."

All done at up to over 120FT away.
Thus stranding drivers w/o enough juice or $$$$ to return home.

Hope the ic car guy doesnt come back to a keyed paint job.

Country singer Jake Flint dies in his sleep at 37 on wedding night
[Independent] Country music artist Jake Flint died in his sleep just hours after his wedding on Saturday 26 November, it has emerged.

His wife Brenda Flint posted a video clip from their wedding and captioned the post: "I don’t understand."

Flint, 37, was based in Tulsa, and grew up in Holdenville.

The cause of his death has not yet been determined.

His long-time publicist Clif Doyal said to The Oklahoman: "He was not only a client, he was a dear friend and just a super nice guy. As you can see from the outpouring on social media, he was loved by everybody. I think a lot of it was just that he was a people person, and he had an amazing sense of humour."

#9  #4 same here. My doctors said and say to this day. Given that prior to my procto exams they say DO NOT for a couple of days prior, I suspect the blood thinning qualities are helpful in reducing build ups and getting around obstructions in the blood system. As we get higher in age, poking around down there for the exam starts to become a danger in and of itself. An ooops can create a lot of bad complications.

#17  I take 2-4 every night. It began at the height of independent oil days. I simply could not function the next day based on the volume of alcohol the brain trust consumed leading me to move on to Coor's Lite. It was still challenging on weekends if I tried to go along volumetrically.

I also discovered after I began the regimen that it was an enormous aid post work out. I've been a gym rat since my early 20's and aspirin really takes the edge off accumulated inflammation.

Never had any problems with bleeding or coagulation and it's been long enough to tell.

Real shame about the guy from Holdenville.

Flu outpaces Coronavirus Hospitalizations in North Texas
[Dallas Morning News] Flu hospitalizations now outnumber COVID-19 hospitalizations in North Texas for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic but don't relax yet as multiple respiratory viruses continue to spread across the region.
So it's not that covid is way down, it's that flu is on the way up. Stay scared!
The 2022-23 flu season is shaping up to be one of the worst in more than a decade. Cases and hospitalizations from the virus shot up unseasonably early as the U.S. entered its first flu season without COVID-19-era public health measures like masking and social distancing.
Our Betters saved us from the Flu for two years, but when we stop following their dictats, we're overwhelmed by disease! Getcher masks back on!
While respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV, also saw an unseasonable rise in cases and hospitalizations, especially among babies and young children, cases are currently trending downward.
That's enough for me. There is more fecal matter at the link.

Reactions certain members of the public took according to the protocols of Covid, such as isolation, lack of exercise, lack of key vitamins such as Vitamin D, a diet of convenience, and a hyper use of sanitizing agents has produced a body of people with atrophied immune systems made susceptible to the normal daily exposure of germs and viruses.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Massive Classic Car Collection Impacts Car Community
[Motorious] As children, most of us car enthusiasts were probably fascinated by the cars of yesteryear. From classic Dodge Power Wagons to race-ready Le Mans competitors, the swooping fender flares, long hoods, and bright diverse color schemes were designed to do one thing, catch your attention. They did this extremely well which is why today these cars are seen as the pinnacle of design within the automotive community. While it is very unlikely, especially these days, to find your well-taken care of examples of these long-lost legends, there is still hope. This comes in the form of museums such as the LeMay Car Collection.

Within the confines of this sanctuary for the automotive years, past sits a vast spectrum of vehicles from all over the historical timeline. The museum itself has been the inspiring factor in many automotive enthusiasts' lives, particularly at a younger age. Some of the cars included on this list of fine automobiles include multiple Model Ts, a 1940 Chevrolet Paddy Wagon, a ridiculous number of classic muscle cars, and many more. To try and cover each car individually would be a pipe dream so rather than focusing on the cars we’d like to focus on the museum itself and the impact it had on the community.

Word of the year
[POWERLINEBLOG] The AP hasn’t gotten around to correcting its headline over the story reporting the word of the year according to Merriam-Webster. At the moment the headline reads: "What headline? ’Gaslighting’ Merriam-Webster’s word of 2022." That "What headline?" can’t be right, can it? This must be the AP’s "Mush from the wimp" moment.

Speaking of mush from the wimp, I give the Biden administration credit for the rise of "gaslighting" to prominence in 2022. However,
a clean conscience makes a soft pillow...
you will find nary a hint of the administration’s possible contribution to its popularity in the AP story. I pride myself in not having used the word so far in 2022. It has become a mind-numbing cliché. I can’t afford to lose the brain cells.

The same applies to "double down," now amplified into "triple down." The Biden administration has tripled down on gaslighting in 2022. What next? You be the judge. My long-standing motto is Don’t double down on clichés!

I will take an early stab at predicting 2023’s word of the year. I predict it will be "receipts," with the generalized meaning of "evidence." Haven’t gone there so far and don’t intend to go there any time soon.

As world population surpasses 8B, Philippines achieves 5-decade low for fertility
[BenarNews] As the world welcomed its 8 billionth person this month, the Philippines saw its fertility rate dip to its lowest in five decades, a development that experts said could increase economic productivity and basic services in the country.
It’s been suggested, from time to time, that many countries have been lying for years about their birth rates, when actually it’s been years since they fell below replacement, and even in some unmentioned cases have already crossed the border into falling populations.
Baby Vinice Mabansag was honored on Nov. 15 after her birth at a public hospital in Manila. She was among infants chosen worldwide to symbolically mark the arrival of the globe’s 8 billionth person, with the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
projecting that the human race would reach the population milestone that day.

"Generally, fertility has been declining in all age groups since 2008. Specifically, fertility rates for women aged 20 to 24 years steadily declined from 163 births per 1,000 women in 2008 to 84 births per 1,000 women in 2022. This was also observed in women aged 25 to 44 years," the authority said in a statement on Nov. 13.

By comparison, the birth rate was about six children per woman in the Southeast Asian nation in the 1970s. The politically influential Catholic Church frowns on artificial family planning methods and has often clashed with state-funded population-control programs.

Still, a recent U.N. projection suggests that the global population could grow to about 8.5 billion in 2030 and to 9.7 billion in 2050, with more than half of the projected increase concentrated in just eight countries, including the Philippines.

The report, which did not detail how this would occur, listed the other countries as the Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
, Egypt, Æthiopia, India, Nigeria, Pakistain and Tanzania.

Women living in rural areas had a slightly higher fertility rate of 2.2 children per woman, compared to those living in urban areas with 1.7 children per woman, the PSA said. The agency said the country’s 1.9 birthrate had fallen below the replacement level of 2.1 children per woman, or the rate at which births sustain population levels.

"Despite expected increase in the fertility of Filipino women because of impeded access to family planning services during lockdowns and quarantine protocols. ... The Philippines was able to register recent population statistics unheard of in years, with fertility numbers plummeting to less than two offspring per woman," the Philippine Commission on Population and Development (PopCom) said in a statement to journalists.

The Philippines’ latest fertility rate is comparable to the 1.8 rate in upper-middle income countries, according to Lolito Tacardon, PopCom’s executive director.

"This can be considered as a ’breakthrough’ for the country’s programs on population and development as well as family planning, which were instituted more than five decades ago," Tacardon said.

The announcement came as recent data showed that the Philippines’ fertility rate has been continuously declining — with the steepest drop recorded during the past five years.

The fertility rate in the Philippines, one of only two predominantly Catholic nations in Asia, has been falling since Congress enacted legislation in 2012 to provide universal and free access for all citizens to nearly all modern contraceptives at government health centers.

The Philippines historically has had higher birth rates than many of its neighbors in Southeast Asia, but it now boasts the region’s third lowest fertility rate after Singapore and Thailand.

According to preliminary results from a national demographic and health survey by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the country’s fertility rate declined from 2.7 children per woman of reproductive age in 2017 to 1.9 babies per woman in 2022.

But we have a multitude of well respected media, LSD's and climate authorities like AG telling us that the polar ice caps and Greenland are melting.

Didn't they predict Summer like Winters for the USA, and we'd l be underwater by 2000, then 2010, then adjusted to 2020, adjusted again for 2030?

#2  Moved from MA to NH 3 years ago.

The 2-3 inches of winter mix we got a month ago are finally all gone due to mostly above freezing day times and a few inches of rain (right now).

Love the cold and snow, not so much 34 degrees and rain.

Follow Up to Dallas Air Crash
[EurAsianTimes] New information has emerged about the horrific mid-air collision between a Boeing B-17 bomber and a Bell P-63 Kingcobra during an air display on November 12 at Texas’ Dallas Executive Airport.

The deadly incident, which claimed the lives of six crew members, was captured on camera and widely shared on Twitter. In the video, the gigantic B-17 bomber is seen flying straight and not very high, while a Bell P-63 Kingcobra comes in from the other direction.

The P-63 rams into the B-17 bomber and both aircraft break apart and crash to the ground. This is followed by an explosion and black smoke emanating from the debris.

In the latest video, the P-63 can be seen colliding with what appears to be a drone, which causes the fighter to stall, presumably because of the engine failure. The collision or near collision with the drone forces the P-63 to change course dramatically and dive into the B-17 bomber.

Twitter Data Breach Bigger Than Initially Reported
[SecurityWeek] The initial related breech started back in January 2022, around the time Musk announced plans to purchase Twitter and started acquiring stock. Given the Political Climate and Far Left leanings of many of the then current staff and their actively subversive roles in opposing him. It is suspected that the breeches may have had inside assistance, or at the least a "Blind Eye" support.

Olde Tyme Religion
UK Govt Prosecutors Argue Parts of Bible 'No Longer Appropriate in Modern Society'
[BREITBART] Lawyers for the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) of England and Wales tried to have a Christian street preacher convicted for quoting the Bible to a lesbian couple, insisting that scripture is "no longer appropriate in modern society ".

The extraordinary case, mounted in what is still nominally a Christian church, with an established church in which the head of state serves as Supreme Governor, was brought against armed forces veteran and throat cancer survivor John Dunn, after the police referred him to prosecutors for telling a lesbian couple that it "says in the Bible that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God" in Swindon.

"Whether a statement of Christian belief or not, the court is being asked to consider whether the language has the potential to cause harassment, alarm or distress," the CPS wrote to the courts when pursuing the case, in a document quoted by the Belfast News Letter.

"This document is not the forum for religious debate, but the bible contains other material recognising slavery (Exodus 21:7), the death sentence
...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead...
(Exodus 35:2 and Leviticus 24:16) and cannibalism (Deuteronomy 28:27)," the prosecutors asserted — sloppily, as it turns out, as Deuteronomy 28:27 actually makes no reference to cannibalism.

"There are references in the bible which are simply no longer appropriate in modern society and which would be deemed offensive if stated in public," the CPS insisted.

#4  Agree! The human experience, either good or bad, predates the written word. The Bible is not the problem. "Modern Society" is the problem.
Posted by: Besoeker || 11/30/2022 2:28 Comments || Top||

#5  The word "modern" is not being use appropriately here.
A more appropriate word for "modern" that matches reality in describing some parts of English society would be something like "degenerate" (society) or "decadent" (society).
I am very thankful my ancestors immigrated from Europe long ago for a better life in the USA.
I would like to remind my brothers in England that they would be speaking German or Russian or Japanese if it were not for the blood of some brave Americans who believed in scripture as the word of God.
It is unfortunate that some Americans have become "modern", like the 12 Republicans who just voted with all 50 Democrats to force same sex marriage on the whole country.

#7  As I understand the so-called Defense of Marriage Act, it willbe illegal for churches to refuse to perform same sex marriages, or at least the refused couple would be able to sue. And they would win. There is no religious exemption from this act. Given the current Supreme Court, I hold little hope that the law will be struck down on 1st amendment grounds.

New data shows Alzheimer's drug can slow cognitive decline
[ABC] In a major development for patients and the biotechnology industry, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the use of a new drug, Aduhelm (aducanumab), for treating early Alzheimer's disease.

"This is the first time we have any new approved treatment for Alzheimer's disease over the past two decades," said Dr. Babak Tousi, who led Cleveland Clinic's study site for the multicenter clinical trials.

But the new drug, made by the biotechnology company Biogen, has been marred by controversy throughout its development history, with prominent Alzheimer's disease specialists arguing the drug's benefits are unlikely to outweigh the risk of serious side effects.

Behold 40% Of B-2 Bomber Fleet Executing An ‘Elephant Walk'
[TheDrive] Eight B-2 Spirit bombers took to the tarmac at their Missouri base for an unprecedented display of stealthy airpower.

While an ‘elephant walk’ is by now a well-known part of airpower exercises by the U.S. military and other air forces elsewhere around the world, the concept still has the power to impress. Case in point, the eight B-2 Spirit stealth bombers that took to the runway at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, at the culmination of the recent Spirit Vigilance 22 training exercise.

The maneuvers involved the 509th and 131st Bomb Wings at Whiteman — the only operational B-2 base — and concluded on November 7, with an elephant walk and subsequent fly-off. This seems to be the first time that the flying-wing bombers had been involved in a mass launch of this scale.

In contrast to minimum interval takeoffs (MITO) that were a trademark of the Cold War-era Strategic Air Command, U.S. Air Force bombers no longer sit, fully armed, on 24-hour alert. Nowadays, elephant walks are mainly about demonstrating readiness and the ability of a base and its constituent units to get large numbers of aircraft into the air rapidly, as could be required during a major contingency. While these kinds of drills have become increasingly common within the U.S. military in recent years, it’s a lot less common to see bombers involved. Stealth bombers? That's unheard of as far as we know.
Videos and photos at the link, along with discussion of the next thing in the pipeline. Enjoy!
