Disney Debuts New LGBTQ Pride Children's Collection
[Newsmax.com] As corporate America readies rainbow filters for company logos for Pride month in June, Disney launched a new LBGTQ Pride Collection of merchandise aimed at children.

From rainbow backpacks and pins, to children’s T-shirts and tumblers with reusable straws, Disney’s new collection has it all for the child who likes Marvel, Mickey or Star Wars, but wants to be an LGBTQ ally.

For the family with four-legged, furry children, Disney has rainbow-colored pet collars and leashes.

"The Disney Pride Collection was created by LGBTQIA+ employees and allies at The Walt Disney Company and is a reflection of their incredible contributions and place at the heart of the company," the company said on its website. "We stand in solidarity with our LGBTQIA+ community everywhere."

"The Walt Disney Company will be donating all of our profits from the Disney Pride Collection sales now through June 30, 2022 to organizations that support LGBTQIA+ youth and families," the company continued. "This includes sales of Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars Pride Collection merchandise."

In the United States, profits from the sale of items in the collection will be donated to the Ali Forney Center, GLSEN, LGBTQ Center OC, Los Angeles LGBT Center, PFLAG National, SF LGBT Center, The Trevor Project and the Zebra Coalition.

The various organizations the profits will be donated to offer support for LGBTQ children and advocate for gender-affirming education in schools.

Disney also lists organizations it will be donating to in Europe, Latin America, and Asia and the South Pacific on its website.

After Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the state’s Parental Rights in Education Act into law in March, Disney CEO Bob Chapek apologized to the LGBTQ community for not being "a stronger ally in the fight for equal rights," according to USA Today.

The Florida law bans classroom instruction of gender identity and sexual orientation in kindergarten through third grade.

At a recent company meeting about Florida’s parental rights law, Disney corporate President Karey Burke said, "I'm here as a mother of two queer children actually — one transgender child and one pansexual child."

"We have many, many, many LGBTQIA characters in our stories, and yet we don't have enough leads and narratives in which gay characters just get to be characters," she said.

She pledged to do more to increase the number of LGBTQ characters and storylines in future company projects.

There has also been intense scrutiny into the company’s hiring practices.

In 2014, CNN reported that there were "at least 35 Disney employees arrested since 2006 and accused of sex crimes involving children, trying to meet a minor for sex, or for possession of child pornography."

A recent Trafalgar poll showed that 68% of Americans are "less likely to do business with Disney" as a result of their LGBTQ agenda.

Top Trans Medical Org Used Castration Fetish Site For Research To Develop Guidance For Doctors
[DailyCaller] The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) developed its latest medical guidelines using information from a site that hosts pedophilic fantasy pornography and castration fetish content.

WPATH, which sets medical standards for transgender medical procedures according to U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine, released new draft guidelines Dec. 3, 2021 which include "eunuch" as a gender identity. The organization pulled information from a website called "Eunuch Archive," which hosts thousands of members who discuss their castration fantasies and, according to WPATH, hosted a popular post providing instructions for self-castration.

WPATH referenced stories of self-castration shared on the site to argue that healthcare providers must castrate individuals for their own safety if they believe a person will likely chemically or surgically castrate themselves outside of the formal medical setting otherwise.

"For the purpose of Standards of Care, we define eunuch as an individual assigned male at birth whose testicles have been surgically removed or rendered non-functional, and who identifies as a eunuch," the guidance states. "They ask for castration, to become eunuchs, because they are eunuch-identified. They may also benefit from eunuch community because of the identification — with or without actual castration."
How do you render your cojones non-functional?... No! I don't wanna know!
The guidance also claims "eunuch-identified people may suffer the same minority stress as other stigmatized groups."

WPATH said its guidance drew heavily from the Eunuch Archive, which it calls "the greatest wealth of information about contemporary eunuch-identified people" while also acknowledging the site contains misinformation and sexual fantasies.

#4  the invasion of Iraq was preceded by a Senate authorization to use military force

also preceded by UN 1441 which stated that Iraq was in breach of commitments under a previous UN resolution

#5  Interesting to note the W and Biden policy parallels:

Victoria Nuland has her fingerprints all over both these disasters. That crazy neo-con bitch was Dick Cheney's Chief of Staff!

In both cases, Nuland and the other nutjobs obsessed over a nasty foreign leader and hyped up a minor threat to a ridiculously overblown degree. Saddam was a regional bully who didn't threaten the US. Putin is a nasty piece of work who doesn't threaten the US.

No wonder George W so easily confused Iraq and Ukraine. They're both instances of neo-con stupidity, hysteria and blundering that made a bad situation infinitely worse -- for us and everyone involved.
Posted by: Oscar Fleretch7998 || 05/19/2022 11:19 Comments || Top||

#6  The legality isn't the point. The Iraq War was one of the stupidest blunders ever made by a great power. Unlike Ukraine and Russia, we intervened against a nonexistent threat based on the obsessive ravings of a deranged Vice President -- and then we completely trashed the country and threw away 10,000 of our soldiers' lives (and over 100,000 civilian lives).

And blew $1.6 trillion of our people's money -- for nothing.

Ukraine is another fool's errand. Biden is far less intelligent than George W Bush, and he's surrounded by freaks and fools, so of course Biden is plunging into an even stupider and more disastrous war than W did. This one will cost us a trillion and will bring about the end of the US as the dominant power in the world. A pointless intervention stoked by foolish neo-con delusions.

That's surely the parallel at work in George W's subconscious mind.

#10  Troll
🤡

Try to change the subject all you like, but it was W who confused Iraq and Ukraine. Obviously there's a connection.

For what it's worth I supported the Iraq War based on the WMD argument. But like all of us who supported it, I was wrong. Saddam did not threaten the US. He threatened Iran, and Israel, but not the US.

It was stupid for us to waste over a trillion dollars and get our soldiers killed. We destroyed the country and destroyed stability in the region. It was a well-intentioned blunder.

Ukraine is also well-intentioned but it's a huge blunder nonetheless. The parallels are clear:

- a nasty and aggressive regional strongman who's being distorted by the Military--Industrial Complex plus assorted neo-con fools to be the "2nd Coming of Hitler"

- distortion of various local grifters and thugs to make them into "brave" allies fighting for "democracy" and "freedom" -- while they steal us blind

- taking our eyes off the ball by engaging in another mindless adventure when we have fires to put out at home.

I lived through it. Official D.C. went crazy with war fever in 2003, and the whole thing quickly turned into a trillion-dollar fiasco.

So keep posting your bullshit about "trolls" all you like and keep on pretending that this Ukraine adventure is anything but a tar baby, but this D.C. veteran says NO FUCKING THANKS.

Been there, done that. Won't get fooled again.

#13  DC insiders remember all the bullshit leading up to the Iraq invasion -- I know; I swallowed it, too. I believed in the same garbage you all did: Overhyping a regional dictator into a 2nd Coming of Hitler threat to the US homeland.

You and I heard nonstop bullshit then as now about our heroic "allies" like Chalabi who were and are just shortly little grifters jerking us around and stealing us blind.

And we've already seen the same damned outcome: the country we're trying to "liberate" is completely ruined, tens of thousands of innocents have been slaughtered, and the furies have been unleashed.

So go ahead and Siam us with your stupid bullshit about "trolls" this and "Chekist" that, but those who were inside the Bush Administration in 2003 know better.

No more fucking stupid interventions for overhyped threats. No thanks. We need to wind this one down and get the fuck out before we blow another trillion dollars of borrowed Chinese money.

Amen. Everyone makes mistakes. W is a highly intelligent man and his intentions were good, but we got it wrong. Saddam was a nasty POS, just as Putin is, but Saddam was not a major threat to us and neither is Putin.

Trashing a distant country, unleashing a wider war and torching our economy was stupid then. It's ruinous now. We have no excuse for pouring gas on the flames this time.

#18  Great discussion. Another parallel: Cheney and the neo-cons created their "Homeland Security" monster that provided the basis for all the COVID lockdown lies and gestapo crap. All of those thuggish tactics for suppressing the domestic population were hatched by the Bushies as part of their overblown overhyped war on terror.

Just last night the Democrats passed their own version of the Homeland Security overreach. The neo-con mentality lives on: hype a minor foreign threat into a trillion-dollar overseas crusade and tighten the screws on the population at home.

This time it's just the Democrats in charge. Same playbook.

#21  Trashing a distant country, unleashing a wider war and torching our economy was stupid then. It's ruinous now. We have no excuse for pouring gas on the flames this time.

I guess the Bushies could at least shrug off their Iraq adventure's price tag by noting that in 2003, our economy was riding high and China was still a lesser power. Our debt in 2003 was "only" $6.7 trillion, which was a more or less manageable 59% of GDP.

Biden's foreign adventure is happening with 5x the debt that the Bushies had: $32 trillion. Biden's debt to GDP ratio, 125%, is definitely unsustainable now and is costing us at least 1% in annual economic growth.

So yeah, Biden's Folly is going to hurt us even more than Bush's Folly

#36  Saddam Hussein had advanced training courses for jihadi cadres at Salman Pak, including courses in hijacking, poison gasses, and biological attacks attended by, among others, key members of Al Qaeda. We found all that after the 2003 invasion, along with fields of bunkers storing barrels of pesticides that work equally well on humans. Not to mention his handing out $25,000 checks to Palestinians who murdered or attempted to murder Jewish Israelis. All that is documented in the Rantburg archives. See the archive search for Salman Pak here.

The invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, and the destruction we wrought, was fair return for the intent of 9/11 and other attacks going back several decades. Our mistake was staying to repair and rebuild afterward, instead of leaving them the lesson of rubble and death to the horizon.

On the other hand, nobody has been stupid enough to try a mass attack on the U.S. like 9/11 ever since. Compare that to what Russia, Europe, and England have been dealing with ever since, also as documented in Rantburg’s archives — and available for anyone who wants to search.

I’m not afraid of President Putin. At the moment I feel sorry for him, given the dreadful result of him believing President Biden’s original statement that Biden was unconcerned about Russia moving into the Ukraine, without taking into account that the Americans, inter alia, had been more or less quietly training and arming Ukraine since 2014 or so. I am, however, concerned about the idiots on our side who wave him around, assuming that Russia is a trigger for conservatives/Republicans, when in fact it isn’t. It’s led the Democrats into all sorts of errors with worldwide secondary effects.

Elon Musk to vote GOP for first time because Democrats are 'party of division & hate'
[NYPOST] Billionaire Elon Musk stepped up his criticism of the Democratic Party on Wednesday, revealing he has switched his allegiance to the GOP and expects left-leaning lawmakers to target him in the days ahead.

Musk slammed the Democrats in a scathing tweet following weeks of heated debate over his planned Twitter takeover – with left-leaning pundits and lawmakers such as Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York among those who have slammed the move.

“In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party,” Musk said. “But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican.”

Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
on Tuesday became the latest country blanketed with dust that slowed traffic and made iconic towers in the capital difficult to see from more than a few hundred metres (yards) away.

#1  This is just wrong on so many levels. This troop is a kid. He was captured, interrogated, and pled guilty of a war crime. I could get anyone reading this to confess to the same crime in less than three days. He was not an officer ordering executions, I believe he was a private. this seems like nothing more than a PR stunt by the Ukraine government.

#3  Your correct. Putting a POW on trial like this is a show. This just does not pass the smell test. I cant explain it but is prosecuting a private when the civilian killing is wholesale over there the right answer? Where are the tank commanders that ordered them into civilian sectors etc... I cant really put a finger on it, wish I could.

09:13 British intelligence notes that despite the fact that Russian troops surrounded Mariupol for more than ten weeks, staunch Ukrainian resistance delayed Russia's ability to gain full control of the city and led to heavy losses among Russian troops.

In an attempt to crush resistance, the Russian Federation has made extensive use of auxiliaries, including the deployment of Chechen forces, which are likely to consist of several thousand fighters, mainly concentrated in the Mariupol and Lugansk directions. These forces are likely to consist of both individual volunteers and units of the National Guard.

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, appears to exercise close personal oversight of the deployment, while his cousin Adam Delimkhanov served as the Chechen field commander in Mariupol. British analysts believe that the deployment of such a disparate contingent demonstrates the serious problems of the Russian Federation with resources in Ukraine and contributes to the division of command, which hinders the operations of the Russian Federation.

03:25 The Russian military in the Luhansk region refuse to go to Belogorovka and force the Seversky Donets, said the head of the OVA Sergey Gaidai: "The orcs are not forcing the Seversky Donets yet. It's scary. Foreign media report that Putin is personally developing a plan on how this can be done. “I am in a hospital in the city of Novoazovsk . My attitude is normal. They don’t have a neurophysical or psychological effect on me. They looked at my leg, they said that everything is fine. The food is excellent,” Viktor Shaposhnikov, a captured soldier of the Ukrainian troops, said in the video of the Ministry of Defense.

Captured serviceman of the National Guard of Ukraine Daniil Zhuchenko, for his part, agreed that "the content is excellent, the attitude is excellent."

Ukrainian POWs report Kyiv was preparing a new provocation in the DPR
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[RIA Novosti] The Kyiv regime, under the leadership of Western curators, is preparing a provocation according to the Buchin scenario in the city of Konstantinovka in the DPR, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the National Defense Control Center, said, referring to a statement by captured Ukrainian soldiers.

"According to the testimonies of captured servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine , in Konstantinovka of the Donetsk People's Republic, the Kiev regime, under the leadership of Western curators, is preparing another provocation according to the "Buchinsky" scenario. To implement it, the militants, dressed in the uniform of Russian servicemen with white armbands, must shoot Ukrainian civilians on camera, " the general said.

He clarified that the specialists of the Center for Information and Psychological Operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine plan to disseminate the relevant photo and video materials, including those taken by registrars of allegedly passing cars, in Western media and on various Internet resources after the liberation of this city by Russian troops.

Mizintsev said that the sophistication of such cynical and cruel provocations at the suggestion of foreign curators, "without exaggeration, crossed out all existing moral norms, and modern Ukrainian nationalists, in the context of the inhuman methods used, have become the" heirs "of the Nazis of the Great Patriotic War."

The Russian Defense Ministry previously stated that all photographs and video materials published by the Kiev regime, allegedly testifying to the "crimes" of the Russian military in the city of Bucha, Kiev region , are "another provocation."

As noted in the military department, during the time this settlement was under the control of the Russian armed forces, not a single local resident suffered from any violent actions.

The ministry emphasized that all our units completely left Bucha on March 30, and exits from the city in the northern direction were not blocked, while the southern outskirts, including residential areas, were fired around the clock by Ukrainian troops from large-caliber artillery, tanks and multiple launch rocket systems.

We launched water in communications in order to understand the level of breakthroughs. Also, the number of Russian political tops who came to Mariupol now makes it clear that this city will be made a "showcase" of the region. Most likely, most of the residential high-rise buildings will be demolished and new ones will be built.

15:07 Mariupol will become a resort city. The restoration of the heavy metallurgical industry in the city has no economic prospects. The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, said that "Mariupol will be restored with an emphasis on the resort business." It can be assumed that the quality of life of citizens, the ecological and social situation in Mariupol after such a “re-profiling” will seriously improve: in Russia, especially taking into account restrictions on the entry of citizens into Europe, a serious demand for a sea resort vacation is expected.

14:06 To compensate for the "reputational losses" after the surrender of the neo-Nazis "Azov" * in Mariupol, the top of the Kyiv regime attracts the maximum number of Ukrainian radicals to the service. Against the backdrop of a well-coordinated howl of neo-Nazis that Kyiv had “leaked” the southern front, information appeared about the creation of a new brigade that would operate as part of the National Guard of Ukraine. The name of the new formation corresponds to the spirit of the current Kyiv regime - "Galicia".

14:06 The exit of militants from Azovstal can only be considered unequivocally: they lay down their arms and surrender, - Peskov.

13:21 Military experts state that the Russian Armed Forces and the LDNR police are actively developing Western weapons supplied by NATO member countries to Ukraine from among the captured samples and arsenals.

In turn, the Ukrainian side, receiving financial assistance from the West, is clearly interested in dragging out hostilities, even if they lead to an increase in the number of civilian casualties.

The tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Battalions, which consists in "burning the ground" when leaving positions, equipping combat points in residential buildings, kindergartens, etc., as well as using the civilian population as a "human shield" and using prohibited types of weapons (cluster munitions, phosphorus and various chemical compounds), gives grounds for accusing the Ukrainian authorities of violating the Geneva Convention, and the Russian side is promptly collecting information for the tribunal.

11:00 Over the past day, 694 militants from Azovstal surrendered, including 29 wounded, the Russian Defense Ministry said. In total, since May 16, 959 militants have surrendered, including 80 wounded, of which 51 who needed hospital treatment were placed in the Novoazovsk hospital in the DPR.

10:44 A total of 962 Ukrainian militants have already surrendered from the Azovstal plant in Mariupol, the Headquarters of the Territorial Defense of the DPR said.

10:29 The situation in the Severodonetsk direction.

There are reports of the success of the combined groups of allied forces in the Severodonetsk direction. A number of new residents came under the control of the NM LDNR. The Artemovskoe/Bukhmutskoe direction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is also bursting at the seams. Now it becomes clear all the scale of the battle for the strategic Popasnaya, which became the key to the further offensive of the Allies.

Well, I note that the fighting spirit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is also losing its strength, but this does not mean that it does not exist. Many fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are still ready to die and die for their ideas, but there are fewer of them every day.

09:48 Khodakovsky: With the onset of darkness, the surrender process was not suspended, until 2200 hrs the enemy continued to leave Azovstal. About 600 people came out through our section, so far in the morning there is silence.

09:40 Shelling from the side of the VFU was recorded in the following directions:

n.p. Avdievka - n.p. Mineral: five missiles fired from BM-21 Grad;

State Duma may exempt from personal income tax the sale of hereditary real estate
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Gee, they must be selling parkas in hell right about now.

[REGNUM] The bill, which exempts transactions for the sale of inherited real estate from personal income tax, was submitted to the State Duma by deputies from the Liberal Democratic Party, headed by Leonid Slutsky and Yaroslav Nilov, a REGNUM correspondent reports on May 19.

Amendments to the Tax Code propose to establish that income from the sale of a real estate object is exempt from taxation, regardless of the period of ownership of the sold property by the taxpayer, provided that its cadastral value does not exceed 20 million rubles.

At the same time, it is proposed to prescribe that for a real estate object received by a taxpayer by way of inheritance, the cadastral value of which upon sale exceeds 20 million rubles, a minimum three-year holding period is retained to exempt from personal income tax the taxpayer's income received from the sale of this real estate object.

The authors drew attention to the fact that upon receipt by inheritance from a family member or close relative of an object of immovable property in the form of an apartment, residential building, part of an apartment or residential building, a share in the ownership of these residential premises, the heir, for various reasons, needs to quickly sell the specified real estate, especially if it is located in another region of Russia.

Heh.

This is a new vehicle designed to support tanks in urban warfare, As I understand, they took a T-72 chassis and put a new turret on it with a pair of 30mm autocannons that can elevate high enough to target the upper floors of a building, something a T-72 cannot do. China-Japan-Koreas
Chinese depositors left in dark as three local banks freeze deposits
[Reuters] Three banks in China's central Henan province have frozen at least $178 million of deposits, offering scant information on why or for how long, leaving firms unable to pay workers and individuals locked out of savings, depositors told Reuters.

Yu Zhou Xin Min Sheng Village Bank, Shangcai Huimin Country Bank and Zhecheng Huanghuai Community Bank froze all deposits on April 18, with all three telling customers they were upgrading internal systems. The banks have not issued any communication on the matter since, depositors said.

None of the three banks responded to Reuters' emails or phone calls seeking comment.

While nominally small, China's numerous local banks have outsized significance because they lend to small and mid-sized firms so their activity can be an indicator of the health of the economy, the world's second-biggest after the United States.

Bank earnings and asset quality are widely expected to deteriorate due to reduced business activity brought about by strict COVID-19 containment measures, raising the prospect of economic contraction in the second quarter of the year.

Depositors of the three banks told Reuters they had been communicating with each other via messaging app WeChat about how to retrieve funds. Some posted screenshots of frozen accounts and shared conversations with bank staff.

Some posted videos of protests outside bank branches, while others said they had travelled to the banks' headquarters in search of an explanation only to be turned away by police.

The China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commision, which was cited in media reports on May 1 as saying it was looking into the matter, and the People's Bank of China, the central bank, did not respond to faxed requests for comment.

ANGER
Depositors from the southern Zhejiang province communicating over WeChat compiled a spreadsheet seen by Reuters in which they self-reported 1.2 billion yuan ($177.55 million) in frozen funds across the three banks.

As the banks have customers across China, magazine Caixin on April 30 reported the frozen amount could total $1.5 billion.

Supreme Court Allows Police to Use Warrantless Real-Time Cell Phone Data to Sweep Americans Into Digital Data Dragnet
[Rutherford] WASHINGTON, D.C. —The U.S. Supreme Court has let stand a lower court ruling that allows police to warrantlessly track people’s location and movements through their personal cell phones, despite longstanding Fourth Amendment’s prohibitions against warrantless searches and seizures and growing concerns about the government’s massive surveillance networks. The Rutherford Institute had filed an amicus brief in Hammond v. U.S., challenging the practice as unconstitutional, especially when used by police to pinpoint a person’s location with much greater precision than ever before, whether that person is at home, at the library, a political event, a doctor’s office, etc.

"Americans are being swept up into a massive digital data dragnet that does not distinguish between those who are innocent of wrongdoing, suspects, or criminals. Cell phones have become de facto snitches, offering up a steady stream of digital location data on users’ movements and travels," said constitutional attorney John W. Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute and author of Battlefield America: The War on the American People. "Added to that, police are tracking people’s movements by way of license plate toll readers; scouring social media posts; triangulating data from cellphone towers and WiFi signals; layering facial recognition software on top of that; and then cross-referencing footage with public social media posts, all in an effort to identify, track and eventually round us up. This is what it means to live in a suspect society."

Twitter defends anti-bot efforts, Musk replies with poo emoji
[Iraq News] the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
— Twitter’s chief on Monday defended the messaging platform’s battle against "bots" that aspiring buyer Elon Musk says vex the platform, only to have the billionaire respond with a poo emoji.

The exchange played out in tweets as Musk’s $44 billion buy of Twitter remained "temporarily on hold," pending questions over the social media company’s estimates of the number of fake accounts, or "bots."

"It appears the spam/bot issue is cascading and clearly making the Twitter deal a confusing one," Wedbush analyst Dan Ives said in a note to investors.

"The bot issue at the end of the day was known by the New York City cab driver and feels more to us like the ’dog ate the homework’ excuse to bail on the Twitter deal or talk down a lower price."

Twitter chief executive Parag Agrawal said the platform suspends more than a half-million seemingly bogus accounts daily, usually before they are even seen, and locks millions more weekly that fail checks to make sure they are controlled by humans and not by software.

Internal measures show that fewer than five percent of accounts active on any given day at Twitter are spam, but that analysis can’t be replicated externally due to the need to keep user data private, Agrawal contended.

Musk, who has said bots plague Twitter and that he would make getting rid of them a priority if he owned the platform, responded to that tweet by Agrawal with a poo emoji.

"So how do advertisers know what they’re getting for their money?" Musk tweeted in a subsequent response about the need to prove Twitter users are real people.

"This is fundamental to the financial health of Twitter."

The process used to estimate how many accounts are bots has been shared with Musk, Agrawal said.

The chief of SpaceX as well as Tesla, Musk is currently listed by Forbes as the world’s wealthiest person, with a fortune of some $230 billion, much of it in Tesla stock.

Seen by his champions as an iconoclastic genius and by his critics as an erratic megalomaniac, Musk surprised many investors in April with his pursuit of Twitter.

Musk has described his motivation as stemming from a desire to ensure freedom of speech on the platform and to boost monetization of an Internet site that is influential in media and political circles but has struggled to attain profitable growth.

Musk said he favored lifting the ban on Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
, who was kicked off the platform in January 2021 shortly after the former US president’s efforts to overturn his election defeat led to the January 6 assault on the US Capitol.

Experts warn we could see national average of $6 gas by August
[WRAK] The average gas price in North Carolina stands at $4.32 per gallon on Wednesday. Experts are now saying we could see gas prices at $6 by the end of the summer.

The local average jumped 6 cents Tuesday night -- the largest increase we've seen in awhile.

CNN Business reports the average price for gasoline in California hit $6 a gallon Tuesday for the first time, and that could become the national average in only a few months.

"There is a real risk the price could reach $6+ a gallon by August," Natasha Kaneva, head of global oil and commodities research at JPMorgan, told CNN in an email on Tuesday.

While JPMorgan is concerned it could be difficult to meet intense demand during this summer's driving season, other experts don’t believe gas prices will ever get that high because many people would likely "balk at $6 gas" and drive less.

The growing concern is the lighter frames for the EV and the IC requiring better MPG ratings is too often the frames can defeat traditional extrication methods. It gets more exciting with air bag placements. We shopped a program which could only fit on a laptop, showing such pitfalls, but that was (not too long ago real time) a couple gens ago.

Remember that program which let you look at the sky with a phone/tablet and it would show the constellations? Need something like that but for vehicles, showing pitfalls, even if the frame no longer isn't (that filter gimmick coming into real use). Instead of 3-D renders of every vehicle ever made, stream just what is needed at the moment. Europe
Great Reset: EU ‘Needs' Lockdown-like Restrictions to Curb Russian Oil Use
[Breitbart] Measures akin to a COVID lockdown are needed in order to curb the EU’s reliance on Russian oil, one member state has said.

Lockdown-like measures should be implemented across the European Union to curb the bloc’s reliance on Russian oil, Luxembourg’s energy minister has said.

The demand comes as the transnational bloc prepares to publish a plan aimed at weaning the EU off of fossil fuels supplied from Russia, with some nation-states such as Germany being badly addicted to the likes of natural gas provided by the state.

According to a report by Der Spiegel, Luxembourg believes that such a plan should include the introduction of an EU-wide mandatory speed limit, a bloc-wide work-from-home mandate for at least two days of the week, and for every major EU city to ban the use of cars on the weekends.

Government Corruption
Court Declares Unconstitutional California's Gender Quota for Corporate Boards
[Judicial Watch] (Washington, DC) Judicial Watch announced today that a California court has found California’s gender quota law for corporate boards unconstitutional. The verdict comes after a 28-day trial (Robin Crest et al. v. Alex Padilla (Case No. 19STCV27561)). The verdict follows a similar ruling in Judicial Watch’s favor last month finding California’s diversity mandate for corporate boards unconstitutional.

Judicial Watch filed the gender quota lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court in 2019, on behalf of California taxpayers, Robin Crest, Earl De Vries and Judy De Vries. The lawsuit challenges a 2018 law, known as Senate Bill 826, which requires every publicly held corporation headquartered in California to have at least one director "who self-identifies her gender as a woman" on its board of directors by December 31, 2019. The law also requires corporations to have up to three such persons on their boards by December 31, 2021, depending on the size of the board. Judicial Watch argued that the quota for women on corporate boards violates the Equal Protection Clause of the California Constitution.

U.S. Census Bureau Keeps Hiring "Unsuitable Individuals" with Criminal Records
Criminals hiring criminals ?
[Judicial Watch] Thirteen years after a federal investigation blasted the U.S. Census Bureau for hiring criminals to enter American homes to gather statistics for the decennial count, a new audit reveals the disturbing practice continues. In fact, more than a decade after the problem was exposed workers for the 2020 count were not properly vetted and many with criminal records had direct interactions with the public. The most recent probe, conducted by the Department of Commerce Inspector General, found that "dozens of employees who worked on address canvassing in advance of the 2020 census had major issues flagged on their investigations, which typically means employees are automatically disqualified from their federal jobs."

Chunks of the 28-page report are redacted but the gist is well conveyed, that the Census Bureau has long failed to screen its workforce and therefore endangers the public. It’s not like there isn’t a vetting system in place.

FDA Suddenly Cares About Babies, Strikes Deal With Formula Maker
[Victory Girls] Monday the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) demonstrated how much they care, reaching a deal with baby formula maker, Abbott Nutrition, to re-open one of their production plants to ease the baby formula shortage.
"Abbott Nutrition, the maker of Similac and other popular baby formulas, said Monday it has come to an agreement with the Food and Drug Administration to fix safety issues at a Sturgis, Mich., factory that has been shuttered for more than three months, contributing to a nationwide formula shortage."
For the freaked-out families trying to feed their babies, while the news seems good, it really isn’t. Abbott indicates it could be two months before formula, which includes labels like Similac, Alimentum and EleCare, is on shelves.

Despite all the media spinning and understandable fear, here’s the facts.

First, Abbott Nutrition, voluntarily closed their Sturgis, Michigan plant a few months ago, after hearing reports infants died from bacteria that possibly came from their formulas. The FDA has posted those press releases:

#4  So the shutdown was initially due to the deaths. Autopsy's showed none of the babies died from the formula. The FDA testing found a different bacteria in the plant and it remained closed.
The issue I have with this is how the FED handles it. It seems they had the plant closed and walked away. This is not how the FDA should act.

The FAA is a good example of right. When the FAA audits a business and finds a shut down worthy fault they dont just walk away. They identify the issues and help the company with the solution to get then compliant and back in the air. Its painful, but it worked. It seems from my perspective, and I hope I am wrong, that the FDA identified it and has walked away until the company figures it out.

$350 Million in Secret Royalties Paid to NIH Staff Highlights an Unsung Conservative Hero
[PJ] Epoch Times readers were outraged when they first read my initial news story about the estimated $350 million in secret royalty payments to former National Institutes for Health Director Francis Collins, NIH’s infamous Anthony Fauci, and hundreds of the agency’s doctors, researchers, and scientists.

During the next several days, I compiled three more stories — here, here, and here — advancing the NIH secret royalties issue, and at last count, those reports had been shared more than 20,000 times by readers.

I have since received a great deal of positive feedback and compliments for breaking that story. And trust me, speaking as a journalist who has covered the swamp for more than 30 years, it’s always encouraging to hear that readers appreciate your efforts to shine light in the dark places of our nation’s capital. Believe me, there are many dark places.

Victory lap for OTB. Splendid! Now finish the "Secret" story by informing us of the.... 'who paid and for what?'

#2  If you work for any company under salary and you invent or develop an item worthy of patent or copyright that is in line with the work of the company, that work becomes the property of the company. Can you say kickback, boys and girls? Compromised beyond ethics.
