Israeli students accuse Ben and Jerry’s of occupying tribal land in Vermont
Hattip Procopius2k.
[NYPost] Israeli students claim that ice cream maker Ben & Jerry’s is "illegally" occupying land in Vermont that once belonged to a Abenaki native American tribe and should practice what it preaches and immediately evacuate the properties.

A cheeky letter sent to B&J — signed by more than 1,000 Israeli students and academics affiliated with Students for Justice in America — accuses B&J of of hypocrisy.

"We have concluded that your company’s occupation of the Abenaki lands is illegal and we believe it is wholly inconsistent with the stated values that Ben & Jerry’s purports to maintain. Ironically, in July of the last year you announced that you would discontinue the sale of your products in Israel because you object to the Jewish State allegedly occupying Paleostinian territories," the letter to B&J’s chairperson, Anuradha Mittal said.

#11  Stop occupying land.

If only the Arab countries had not kept starting wars with Israel — and losing them, Tiny Jeater6933 — Israel would not have ended up doing all that conquering you object to. And having started and lost three wars in a row (1948, 1967, and 1973), if the Arab countries had been willing to give up their arrogance just the tiniest bit to negotiate peace treaties with Israel, they could have got all they’d lost plus the improvements Israel made in the meantime.

We know this is true because Israel gave Egypt back most of the Sinai (and did not have to take back the Gaza Strip) after they signed a peace treaty in 1979, Jordan got back two properties and did not have to take back the West Bank — both Egypt and Jordan have found the Palestinians just as troublesome for Arab rulers as for Jewish ones, and have refused to accept the headache. And while the Oslo Accords Israel signed with the Palestinians gave them self-determination within their communities in the Palestinian Territories of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, preparatory to signing a proper peace treaty which would have given them control of the rest — the Palestinians have consistently refused to sign anything since Oslo II in 1995. And we just saw in Gaza what happens when Israel just walks away from Palestinian territory — Israel completely pulled out of the Gaza Strip in 2005, and has been attacked regularly from Gaza ever since.

So you see, the reason Israel is still occupying portions of the West Bank is because despite Israeli efforts, it is the Palestinians that refuse to negotiate a serious peace treaty, not the Israelis.

#14  Problem is Ben&Jerry are not illegally occupying someone else's land, Israel is and has been since 1967.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Complaint of a resident of Dagestan Shavri Gadzhiev filed with the ECtHR
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Lawyers of the Memorial Human Rights Center have filed a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights about the trial of Shavri Hajiyev, who was convicted in 2020 for financing terrorism. Russian courts have violated the requirements of the ECtHR related to the use of the testimony of anonymous witnesses, human rights activists say.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 23, 2020, the Moscow City Court upheld the sentence of Shavri Hajiyev, a resident of Dagestan, who was found guilty of financing terrorism. The requests of lawyers to reveal the identities of anonymous witnesses and to declare inadmissible such evidence as the reports of the security forces were not satisfied by the court.

On February 18, 2020, the Dorogomilovsky District Court of Moscow sentenced Gadzhiev to eight years in prison. The defense stated that Gadzhiev was not familiar with the alleged terrorist Magomed Magomadov, to whom, according to the investigation, he transferred 10 thousand rubles.

On February 28, the Board of Appeals of the Supreme Court of Russia upheld the decision of the court of first instance on the liquidation of the "International Memorial," and it entered into force. On April 5, a court in Moscow upheld the decision to liquidate the Memorial Human Rights Center. On June 17, the team of the Human Rights Center "Memorial"* announced  the creation of a public organization  "Center for the Protection of Human Rights "Memorial" (without forming a legal entity).

The Human Rights Center "Memorial" sent a complaint to the ECHR in which it asks to recognize violations of the principles of a fair trial in the consideration of the case of Shavri Gadzhiev, who was convicted by the Moscow City Court for financing terrorism. According to lawyers, in the Hajiyev case, the requirements of the European Court of Human Rights related to the use of the testimony of anonymous witnesses were ignored, human rights activists of the center reported today in their Telegram channel "Full PC 2.0."

“The practice of the ECtHR states that an accusation against a person cannot be based solely or in large part on the testimony of anonymous witnesses. The court also requires that the “anonymity” of witnesses is really necessary for their protection and the interests of justice, and their testimony is used with caution. This means that the authorities should additionally check the reliability of such testimony: for example, by conducting the procedure of “identification” of the accused by an anonymous witness in order to make sure that the witness and the accused really know each other,” Memorial’s lawyer pointed out.

The court "repeatedly" rejected the defense's motions to conduct "identification of the accused" or confrontation between Gadzhiev and witnesses. At the same time, all accusations against Hajiyev regarding the motive and intentions of the money transfer are based on the testimony of anonymous witnesses. The decisions of the Russian courts say that their testimony is “consistent, reliable and sufficient,” in contrast to the testimony of defense witnesses, which the courts treated “critically” and considered them to be completely refuted by “written evidence and testimony of witnesses for the prosecution,” cites Memorial CZPK lawyer's words.

Gadzhiev was a defendant in two cases on the financing of illegal armed groups: "each of the cases began with his abduction," according to the publication of the Telegram channel "Full PC 2.0."

"In 2015, Shavri was kidnapped by law enforcement officers of Dagestan. They beat and tortured him with electric shocks. Under torture, the man confessed that he bought food and SIM cards, and also distributed small money to members of some illegal armed group. In the same year, he was convicted 2.5 years in prison, was released in July 2017...

Law enforcement officers detained Shavri Gadzhiev near his house in Makhachkala on November 9, 2018. Three weeks later, Gadzhiev's relatives learned that he had been taken to Moscow and taken into custody on charges of financing terrorism," the human rights activists reminded.

It should be noted that in November 2019, Shavri Hajiyev’s lawyer indicated that the testimony of secret witnesses in the case of his client was not confirmed, and the defendant’s guilt was justified only by the assumption of the investigation. The Memorial HRC lawyer stated that she intends to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights in Gadzhiev's interests.

On June 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed laws establishing a deadline for the execution of ECtHR judgments in the Russian Federation. Judgments of the ECtHR issued after 15 March 2022 are not enforceable in Russia. Changes were also made to certain provisions of the procedural legislation of the Russian Federation regarding the revision of judicial acts adopted by Russian courts on the basis of judgments of the ECtHR.

The co-author of the initiative, the head of the State Duma Committee on State Building and Legislation, Pavel Krasheninnikov, explained that "ECHR rulings will no longer be the basis for reviewing decisions made by Russian courts."

Home Front: WoT
US charges Iranian Guards member with plot to murder ex-White House official Bolton
[IsraelTimes] Operative reportedly offered $300,000 to ’eliminate’ former US national security adviser, in presumed retaliation for US Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
that killed top general Soleimani

An Iranian operative has been charged in a plot to murder former US national security adviser John Bolton in presumed retaliation for a US airstrike that killed the country’s most powerful general, offering $300,000 to "eliminate" the Trump administration official, the Justice Department said Wednesday.

Shahram Poursafi, identified by US officials as a member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a US-designated terrorist organization, is currently wanted by the FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
on charges related to the murder-for-hire plot.

Prosecutors say the scheme unfolded more than a year after Qassem Soleimani
, the head of the Revolutionary Guard’s elite Quds Force and an architect of Tehran’s proxy wars in the Middle East, was killed in a targeted airstrike at Baghdad’s international airport in January 2020. After the strike, Bolton, who by then had left his White House post, tweeted, "Hope this is the first step to regime change in Tehran."

In the fall of 2021, Poursafi, an Iranian citizen who officials say has never visited the United States, offered $300,000 to someone he was corresponding with in the US if the person would hire someone to "eliminate" Bolton, according to an FBI affidavit unsealed Wednesday.
Two steps apart? That’s one way to blur the connection, I suppose, but surely would make it hard to ensure the hire could actually do the job.
Poursafi told the person, who was actually an FBI informant, that he wanted "the guy" to be purged or eliminated.
Oh lord — another one who got his FBI BFF involved in his brilliant plot. I s’pose that means he really did have killer skillz, though.
Poursafi provided the person with Bolton’s office address, including the name and contact information for someone who worked in the office, and took screenshots of surveillance photographs of Bolton’s office, the affidavit says.
Did he pay upfront, too? What about money for planned expenses?
"This was not an idle threat," Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen, the Justice Department’s top national security official, said in a statement released by the department. "And this is not the first time we’ve uncovered brazen acts by Iran
...They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
to exact Dire Revenge against individuals in the US."

Poursafi also tried to target former US secretary of state Mike Pompeo, according to the Axios news site.
The gentleman certainly is ambitious...
The Department of Justice informed Pompeo of the threat, the news site reported, citing a source close to Pompeo.
Ambitious, tracked, and traced. Allah clearly did not want him to succeed.
In his own statement, Bolton thanked the FBI and Justice Department for their work in developing the case and the Secret Service for providing protection.

"While much cannot be said publicly right now, one point is indisputable: Iran’s rulers are liars, bully boyz and enemies of the United States," he said.

Iran’s mission to the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
“Well, shoot. Now what do we do, Your Immensilocity?”
The unsealing of the complaint comes two days after negotiators seeking to revive the Iran nuclear accord in Vienna closed on a "final text" of an agreement, with parties now consulting in their capitals on whether to agree to it.
Why bother?
The 2015 deal granted Iran sanctions relief in exchange for tight curbs on its atomic program. Since the US withdrew from the agreement under President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and whatever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
, Iran has sped up its nuclear enrichment program. Bolton has been among the most hawkish critics of the deal and efforts by the Biden administration, the same old faces in slightly different places, the same old ideas, the same old graft
...the pack of self-imagined masterminds of strategy and intrigue at the service of the Biden Crime Family and a grateful nation...
to rejoin it.

In his statement, he said "Iran’s nuclear weapons and terrorist activities are two sides of the same coin" and asserted that America re-entering the failed 2015 Iran nuclear deal would be an unparalleled self-inflicted wound, to ourselves and our closest Middle East allies."
Indeed.
Rudaw adds:
45-year-old Shahram Poursafi, also known as Mehdi Rezayi...

According to the charges, Poursafi tried to arrange Bolton's murder beginning in October 2021, when he contacted online an unidentified person in the United States, first saying he wanted to commission photographs of Bolton.

That person passed the Iranian onto another contact, who Poursafi then asked to kill Bolton.

He offered $250,000, which was then negotiated up to $300,000.

"Poursafi added that he had an additional 'job,' for which he would pay $1 million," the Justice Department said.

But that second person, court documents say, was a confidential source for the US Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The ostensible assassin stalled, waiting for an initial payment, but only in late April did Poursafi send money, paying a total of $100 in cryptocurrency.

Poursafi was charged with the use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire, which brings up to 10 years in prison, and with providing and attempting to provide material support to a transnational murder plot, which carries a 15-year sentence.

When the Biden Puppet Gov. decides to protect certain people, like Bolton. You have to ask why?

Hint
John Bolton, President Trump's former UBER-HAWK national security adviser, has a book being released that is ANTI-TRUMP. He is getting around $2 million for it and numerous $$$$ interviews and speaking events.

The LSD's are hoping it's negativity will have some positive effects for the LSD's now losing their a$$es in the Mid-terms and 2024 polls.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Days after Operation Breaking Dawn ceasefire, the After Action Report
[IsraelTimes] The Israeli military said it believes it inflicted "significant" damage on PIJ, destroying infrastructure including a tunnel into Israel described as a "flagship" project, and eliminating its top brass.

Israel and PIJ on Sunday halted three days of intense fighting that saw hundreds of rockets lobbed at Israeli towns and intense Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s across the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip. Dozens of Paleostinians were killed in the round of violence, according to Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, authorities in Gaza, though Israel blamed errant fire by Paleostinian fighters for many of those deaths.

In a briefing wrapping up the 66-hour Operation Breaking Dawn, the Israel Defense Forces said it "significantly damaged Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
and its leadership."

The army launched the first airstrikes after indications of an imminent PIJ anti-tank guided missile attack against Israeli civilians or soldiers on the border. Those strikes killed Jabari.

According to new details revealed by the IDF on Tuesday, the IDF used small glide bombs in order to hit Jabari’s sixth-floor apartment in the 14-story tower in Gaza City.

The munitions entered the seventh-floor wall at an angle, penetrated the ceiling of the sixth, and only then went kaboom!, in order to minimize collateral damage, senior officers said.

In another major airstrike on the second night of the operation, Mansour was killed.

The IDF delayed the strike on Mansour several times, as his apartment was close to a playground. The military published a video of it aborting the strike, in a bid to show its efforts to avoid harming civilians, even when confronted with the opportunity to hit a top-tier target.

The IDF struck 170 targets, using fighter jets, armed drones, combat helicopters, and artillery, according to the briefing.

The targets included 17 observation posts (six of which were manned by PIJ operatives), 45 rocket and mortar launching sites, eight military camps, eight weapon caches, six weapon production facilities, three targets related to the PIJ’s naval force, and an "attack tunnel."

In total over the three days, 1,175 rockets and mortars were launched from the Gaza Strip at Israel. The Iron Dome anti-rocket system intercepted over 380 projectiles fired toward populated areas, at an unprecedented 97 percent success rate, the IDF said.

The IDF said the most significant target of the operation was an attack tunnel it hit on early Sunday. The military said the tunnel, built several meters underground from the southern Gaza city of Rafah, was to be used to "enter and attack Israel by surprise." The IDF said the tunnel did not cross into Israeli territory, as Israel has a high-tech belowground wall guarding its frontier with Gaza from attack tunnels, which once threatened southern towns.

The tunnel was Mansour’s "flagship" project, according to a senior IDF officer.

Hamas authorities in the Gaza Strip said 45 people were killed in the fighting, including 16 children, but it did not say how many of the total killed were affiliated with terror groups. At least 15 deaths were claimed as members by the PIJ, Hamas and another, smaller, terror group.
