San Francisco Officers Fatally Shoot Man Who Charged At Them With A Knife While Screaming 'Allahu Akbar'
BLUF: Mentally troubled former Afghan interpreter pulls knife on San Francisco residential hotel staff, then is shot dead by police when he charges them while shouting, “Allahu akhbar!”
[USASUPREME] A man wielding a knife was fatally shot by police inside a residential building in the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
Friday, authorities said.

Officers responded to the building in the South of Market neighborhood after receiving a call about a man armed with a knife, San Francisco Police Officer Robert Rueca said in a statement.

The officers made contact with the man and an officer-involved shooting occurred, Rueca said without offering any other information on what led to the fatal shooting.

Chief Bill Scott and other department officials held a virtual town hall Wednesday in the death of 41-year-old Ajmal Amani.

"Without suggesting a premature judgment on the appropriateness of the force used in this particular incident, I can express on behalf of all of us in our department our condolences to Mr. Amani’s family, friends and loved ones for the loss they’ve suffered," Scott said at the town hall.

According to Commander Paul Yep, officers were called to a residential hotel on the 900 block of Folsom Street shortly after 8 a.m. Friday on reports of a man holding a knife. The caller said she could not stay on the phone because the man "has a knife to my face."

When two officers arrived, they found the caller and another victim who said he was also threatened with a knife. Both victims were determined to be employees of the hotel.

Yep said officers then walked towards Amani’s room and found a man consistent with Amani’s appearance at the end of the hallway, yelling and pointing at the officers, before moving back out of sight.

Video shows the officers then walked back towards the victims and then established a position in the hallway, and said they wanted to talk to Amani.

Yep said at this point, one officer had drawn his department-issued handgun, while the second officer was armed with a so-called "bean bag weapon." The first officer then called for additional resources, which included an ambulance to stage nearby, along with a tactical shield, which the commander said was consistent with SFPD training.

About a minute later, Yep said Amani then stepped back into the hallway, screaming and brandishing a knife. He then charged towards the officers with the knife.

Yep said as Amani got closer, both officers fired their weapons, striking Amani, who fell to the floor. Amani was shot four times by the officer with the handgun, and three times by the officer with the bean-bag projectiles.

Videos show the officers asking Amani to talk to them, but they continued to maintain their distance. Minutes later, additional officers with a tactical shield approached Amani and secured the knife. Officers and medical personnel then rendered aid.

What it’s more important is the fact that not one mainstream media reported that the man was screaming "Allahu Akbar" while running towards the officers and that he was a former Afghan interpreter!

Yep said Amani was taken to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The officer who discharged his department-issued firearm was identified at the town hall as Officer John Quinlan, while the officer who discharged the bean bag weapon was identified as Officer Danny De Leon Garcia.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Amani was a former Afghan interpreter for the U.S. Special Forces. In 2019, Amani was charged with assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly slashing a city park ranger with a box cutter.
2019? He wasn’t part of the current rescue effort, then.
The newspaper reported that Amani was ordered to undergo mental health diversion which he completed this year and was living in a city-rented room at the hotel.

The shooting remains under investigation.
Khaama Press adds:
41-year-old Ajmal Amani, who used to work with the US military forces back in Afghanistan, was traumatized, his case manager and property owner told the San Francisco Chronicle.

He was shot in the stomach and his leg while he was screaming at people around him with a knife in hand.

Amani was charged with assault with a deadly weapon in 2019 for allegedly slashing a city park ranger with a box cutter who said he appeared to be in an “altered mental state.”

Amani was ordered to undergo mental health diversion which he completed this year and was living in a city-rented room at the residential hotel.

Came here around 2019.
A Felony arrest, for Assault with a deadly weapon for slashing a park ranger. The charge likely was plead down to a Mental Issue conviction and he was ordered to have Mental Health treatment and released. (That treatment obviously failed.)

For some reason he was never reported to ICE and not deported.

#6  Suicide by cop involving bladed weapons is an old San Francisco pastime. Back when I lived there I knew a dude who was a bouncer at a Goth nightclub. Nice guy; but a big boy. Had some personal life problems compounded by drug abuse. Charged a group of cops with a sword looking to get killed. They knew him from his work, liked him, and only shot him "a little." He lived, went to rehab, and walked with a limp last time I saw him. Was also grateful to the cop who shot him.

Afghanistan
Conflicts in Afghanistan leaves over half a million internally displaced in 2021
[KhaamaPress] According to a newly released report by the UN IOM, over half a million people in Afghanistan have been internally displaced as a result of conflicts and insecurity in 2021.

The report which has been conducted between 11-21 November 2021, has found that only 667,900 people have been internally displaced between January 1 and November 21.

The report has also identified the number of refugees who have been returned back to Afghanistan during the current year from Pakistain and Iran.

Over 1.146 million undocumented Afghan refugees have been returned from Iran
...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979...
and Pakistain during the year 2021, the majority of whom have returned from Iran.

This comes as, on the other hand, hundreds of thousands of Afghans have also emigrated to Iran, Pakistain, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
, India, Europe, England, US, and Canada in the last 100 days, since the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
took over Afghanistan by force.

The country went into chaos as talks with expectations to a political settlement failed following the flee of Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, ex-president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. When Biden abandoned the country left with a helicopter, four cars, and part of the national treasury...
Unverified reports suggest that over 95% of Afghan citizens leave under the poverty line since August 15 and the country’s economy has fallen by over 35% since then.

Many western countries launched an emergency humanitarian evacuation program to help certain categories of Afghans in fleeing the country to a safe place.

A number of Afghan women leaders, journalists, rights activists, attorneys, and judges have been evacuated by the western countries.

Still, there are a large number of vulnerable Afghans stuck in Afghanistan who are waiting to receive assistance.

Several women rights activists and journalists have recently spoken to Khaama Press who are in Kabul and Mazar-e-Sharif cities waiting for flights out.

UNICEF Supported Classes for Over 140K Afghan Children
[ToloNews] The UN Children Fund (UNICEF) supported over 5,000 educational communities to provide learning opportunities for at least 142,700 children within the past three months, the organization said on Friday.

"In the past 3 months, UNICEF supported 5,350 community-based education classes ensuring access to learning for more than 142,700 children across Afghanistan," the UNICEF Afghanistan said on Twitter. "Yet more needs to be done, over 4 million children are still out of school, more than half are girls."

The Ottoman Turkish Maarif Foundation said that it has held entrance exams for students who seek to attend the Afghan-Turk Schools across the country.
The Maarif Foundation was established by the Erdogan government in 2016 to run confiscated Gulen schools around the world, including all thirteen in Afghanistan.
According to the foundation, of 3,500 students, 1,000 of them would be recruited.

"Over 1,000 native Ottoman Turkish employees in the administrative and educational department are present in Afghanistan currently. We are committed to providing service in Afghanistan," said Saleh Mohammad Saghir, head of the foundation in Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Education praised the facilitation of education programs for the children.

"We wish more success to our friend countries, particularly The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
," said, Ihsanullah Khitab, head of the Kabul education department.

Teachers and heads of the entrance exams for the Afghan-Turk schools said that the number of students participating has dropped compared to previous years.

"The number of participants was high in the previous years," said Omid Sapai, a teacher.

"The recent changes had its affect on the student’s enrollment," said Abdul Baqi Oriakhail, a teacher.

Libya: More Attacks Expected Before Elections
[LIBYAREVIEW] Libyan Interior Minister, Khaled Mazen said that all matters related to securing the elections are going according to plan. He noted that some attacks may occur on electoral headquarters, in conjunction with the progress being made in the elections. In a presser, Mazen added that what happened at the Sebha courthouse was a "crime punishable by law." He vowed to hold all those involved in the attack accountable. The Justice Ministry said in a statement that an gang had forced everyone to leave the court building.

"Violations exist in all countries, including the United States. I urge everyone not to tamper with the polling stations," he stressed

On Thursday, the Council of Ministers of the Government of National Unity (GNU) called on the Ministries of Justice and Interior to immediately investigate the circumstances of the attack, and prepare a detailed report on the incident.

Notably, the lawyer for Saif al-Islam Qadaffy, who is the son of Libya’s late leader, Muammer Qadaffy said that gunnies had prevented him from lodging an appeal against his client’s disqualification from next month’s Presidential elections.

Disputes over issues including the eligibility of candidates are threatening to derail the elections, which are set for 24 December, and with it a UN-backed grinding of the peace processor aimed at ending a decade of chaos since Muammar Qadaffy

was toppled.

Interference by fighters from any side will further undermine confidence in the elections, which many Libyans are hoping with end a decade of conflicts. It has also triggered fears of a new war, if either side rejects the results of the vote.

Late on Wednesday, the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) disqualified Saif al-Islam and 24 other candidates, subject to appeals.

"Libya’s judiciary will have the final say on the list of candidates," the Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Jan Kubis said on Wednesday.

The Supreme Judicial Council also reversed a ruling it had made only days ago, in that appeals over the eligibility of candidates could only be lodged in the district where the candidate has registered.

Belarus president Lukashenko offers migrants who stay at border food, clothes
[AlAhram] Belarus' President Alexander Lukashenko on Friday promised food and warm clothing to migrants colonists who opt to stay at the border between the ex-Soviet nation and Poland and won't return to their homeland.
Such a sweet, generous man.
Lukashenko made the pledge during a visit to a facility that accommodates migrants colonists at the border.

``My task is to help you, people in trouble,'' Lukashenko said, addressing thousands of migrants colonists during a visit to a facility accommodating migrants colonists at the Bruzgi warehouse. ``We, Belarusians, including myself, will do everything as you wish, even if it is bad for Poles, Latvians and someone else.''
Especially if it is bad for them, actually. The current president of Belarus is the soul of malice.
``We will work together with you on your dream,'' Lukashenko added.

Lukashenko, who has accused the EU of failing to meet humanitarian standards by refusing the migrants colonists entry, told them his government would do nothing to prevent them from reaching Europe.

"If anybody wants to go West -- that is your right. We will not try to catch you, beat you, and hold you behind barbed wire," Lukashenko said.

Lukashenko's visit comes after weeks of tensions at the border, where hundreds of people remain stuck. Since Nov. 8, a large group of people, mostly from the Middle East, has been stranded in Belarus at a border crossing with Poland, trapped as forces from the two countries face off against each other. Most are fleeing conflict or a sense of hopelessness at home, and aim to reach Germany or other Western European countries.

Lukashenko again called on Germany to accept migrants colonists.

German government front man Steffen Seibert on Friday strongly denied
No, no! Certainly not!
claims by Lukashenko that Germany had agreed to take in 2,000 migrants colonists currently in Belarus.

``It's not true that Germany agrees to this,'' he told news hounds in Berlin.

Videos and photographs taken by local media outlets show the authoritarian leader of Belarus surveying conditions at the migrants colonists' crowded quarters. Russia's state RIA Novosti news agency reported that crowds of migrants colonists applauded Lukashenko on his arrival.

Lukashenko said that apart from about 2,000 people at the border facility, another 2,000 to 3,000 more migrants colonists currently remain in Belarus. He promised migrants colonists that the Belarusian authorities would help them return to their home countries _ but only if they want to.

``In no case will we detain you, tie your hands, load you on airplanes and send you home if you don't want that,'' Lukashenko said.

Lukashenko said that about 200 migrants colonists still manage to illegally enter the EU every day.

Over 170 people returned to Iraq's northern Kurdish-run region on Friday with another return flight expected later in the day. Last week, 430 Iraqis returned home after a failed attempt
...Curses! Foiled again!...
to reach the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
The West has accused Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko of luring thousands of migrants colonists to Belarus with the promise of help to get to Western Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
to use them as pawns to destabilize the 27-nation European Union in retaliation for its sanctions on his authoritarian government. Belarus denies engineering the crisis.

Up to 70,000 migrants could be in Belarus: Polish politician

[Rudaw] A Polish politician and former foreign minister told Rudaw that there could be as many as 70,000 migrants colonists in Belarus wishing to enter Poland, not 7,000 as previously claimed by Minsk, as he stressed that the authorities will continue to prevent migrants colonists from entering his country.

"We want to stop them [migrants colonists] at the Belarusian border. This is successful right now, because most have been unable to illegally cross the border, and we have [had] to force Belarusia’s [leader Alexander] Lukashenko to send them away," Witold Waszczykowski, who was Poland’s minister of foreign affairs until 2018 and is currently a member of the European Parliament, told Rudaw in an interview aired on Friday.

"[They] are not only 7,000 [migrants colonists], they are probably 70,000 because they were coming by planes this summer," he added.

Thousands of migrants colonists, mostly from the Kurdistan Region, have been stuck on the Belarus-Poland border in recent months, with hundreds of them returning via planes arranged by Erbil and Baghdad. The return process continues with another group of migrants colonists expected to return in the early hours of Saturday.

Court of Appeal confirms Kocharian's innocence
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[KavkazUzel] The court rejected the appeal of the prosecutor's office, which demanded to cancel the decision to terminate the criminal prosecution of the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharian in the case of dispersing a rally in Yerevan on March 1-2, 2008.
Thirteen years ago? Process being punishment, indeed.
As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, former Armenian President Robert Kocharian is charged in the case of dispersing a rally in Yerevan on March 1-2, 2008, during which 10 people were killed. The former chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Yuri Khachaturov, the former head of the Ministry of Defense Seyran Ohanyan and the former head of the presidential administration and Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan are also involved in this case.

On March 26, the Armenian Constitutional Court found the accusation of Robert Kocharian and other defendants in the case regarding the overthrow of the government unconstitutional. On April 6, the Yerevan General Jurisdiction Court terminated the criminal prosecution of Robert Kocharian and other former officials under the article on overthrowing the constitutional order on the basis of the absence of a crime. In April, the prosecutor's office appealed the decision.

Robert Kocharian is also accused of money laundering, fraud and receiving a large bribe. On May 29, 2020, the Administrative Court of Armenia granted the defense's petition that the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, remain in the medical center until the end of the coronavirus pandemic, and in June 2020 Kocharian was released on bail. Back in August 2020, the prosecution  announced  a deliberate delay in the process.

The appellate court rejected the appeal of the prosecutor's office on the cancellation of the decision of the court of first instance on the acquittal of Robert Kocharian, Hovhannes Khudoyan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"It is too early to say that the decision of the court of first instance to terminate the criminal case regarding the overthrow of the constitutional order remains in force, since the prosecutor's office can appeal the decision of the Court of Appeal in the cassation instance," he noted.

"The judicial act has not yet entered into force," Khudoyan said.

The lawyer added that the court today also considered the defense's petition to change the preventive measure against Robert Kocharian. The defense demanded to reduce the amount of the bail or cancel the bail altogether, but the court rejected this request, he said.

France Lashes out at Britain's Latest Proposal on Migrants
[AnNahar] La Belle France reacted with anger and dismay on Friday to Britannia's latest proposals for dealing with the deadly flow of migrants colonists between their shores, ramping up a battle of wills over dangerous crossings of the English Channel that killed 27 people in a sinking this week.

More than 23,000 people have already entered the U.K. on small boats this year, up from 8,500 last year and just 300 in 2018, according to data compiled by the British Parliament.
President Emmanuel Macron scolded the office of Prime Minister Boris Johnson

for making public a letter that the British leader sent to the French leader on Thursday. Most notably, Johnson proposed that La Belle France take back migrants colonists who illegally cross the English Channel — an idea that La Belle France quickly and summarily dismissed.

Italy gives asylum to National Geographic’s famous ‘green-eyed’ Afghan girl
[KhaamaPress] Sharbat Gula, the Afghan ’green-eyed’ girl whose photo went viral after being printed on the cover of the National Geographic magazine in 1984, has now been given asylum by Italia, the Italian government announced on Thursday.

The office of Premier Mario Draghi said Italia organized the evacuation of Sharbat Gula after she asked to be helped to leave the country. The Italian government will now help to get her integrated into life in Italia, the statement said.

Sharbat Gula and her family members have been taken to Italia as part of Afghanistan’s emergency humanitarian program by the western countries.

She got international fame after her photo taken by Steve McCurry was published on the cover page of a National Geographic magazine in 1984. The photographer found her again in 2002.

Sharbat Gula used to live in a refugee camp in Pakistain for years and was forcefully deported to Kabul in 2017 after she was accused of holding a fake Pak identity card. The Afghan government welcomed her warm providing her with a free government apartment.

Thousands of notable Afghan women, officials, journalists, and rights activists have been evacuated to Europe, England, Canada, and the United States following the fall of Kabul in the hands of the Taliban

#3  I read long ago that Sharbat Gula's identity was matched with that of the Afghan girl photo through iris identification processes, now used worldwide on vast numbers of people due to unique characteristics of the human iris. The old National Geographic photo clearly showed the match with iris of the contemporary Sharbat Gula. Article states she is now a widow but still has children to support.

Canadian school CANCELS event with ISIS survivor Nadia Murad because her harrowing description of torture and rape 'would be offensive to Muslims and foster Islamophobia'
  • The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) is not allowing its students to attend a book club meeting featuring author Nadia Murad
    ...Yezidi activist and Nobel laureate...
  • Murad's book details how she escaped the Islamic State, where she was ripped from her home and sold into sexual slavery aged just 14 years old

  • The superintendent Helen Fisher said Muslim students would be offended and the book 'promotes Islamophobia'
Truth or falsity has nothing to do with it, only Moslem feelz.
  • Book club founder and TDSB parent Tanya Lee said the book 'has nothing to do with ordinary Muslims. (TDSB) should be aware of the difference'

  • The Board later issued an apology but still won't let the students attend the event
In her book, Murad talks about how she was raped and tortured before finding her way to a refugee camp in Durhok, in northern Iraq, and then to Germany where she now lives.

Iraq: IS returnees met with tolerance and distrust
[SHAFAQ] In Iraq, returning families of IS fighters have to turn to local initiatives for help, as there is no official path home. DW met with families on the ground."It takes courage to talk about what happened, because it hurts so much," says Sheikh Ahmed al-Muhairi. And yet, the 27-year-old leader believes it is important to have forgiveness and not rage influence his life.

Al-Sadr calls for disclosing results of the investigation in Al-Kadhimi's assassination attempt
[SHAFAQ] On Friday, the leader of the Sadrist Movement, Moqtada Tater al-Sadr
...hereditary Iraqi holy man and leader of a political movement in Iraq. He had his hereditary rival, al-Khoei, assassinated only a few hours after the holy rival's appearance out of exile in 2003. Formerly an Iranian catspaw, lately he's gagged over some of their more outlandish antics, then went back to catspawry...
, called to reveal the results of the investigation of the Iraqi authorities about the attempt to assassinate Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi.

In a statement, al-Sadr said, "The state's prestige cannot be tolerated, and the attack on the Prime Minister's house is a clear and flagrant violation of illusory sovereignty and prestige, as it destabilizes Iraq's security."

He added, "Hence, it became necessary to reveal the investigations, to arrest the snuffies who carried out this heinous terrorist act, and to impose the appropriate punishment on them."

Al-Sadr pointed out that if this is not disclosed, "we may have to disclose it in the future."

Earlier this week, two high-ranking security officials were summoned for investigation in the PM liquidation attempt.

A source told Shafaq News Agency that the investigation Committee decided to summon the Director of Criminal Evidence, Major General Iyad al-Issawi, and the director of explosives control in the Ministry of Interior, Major General Sabah Hassan al-Shibli.

According to the Source, al-Shibli was summoned for detonating one of the unwent kaboom! devices found on the roof of al-Kadhimi's house.

Earlier this month, an unidentified group had targeted the house of Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi with drones.

Hezbollah brigades: The years of oppression are gone forever
[SHAFAQ] The security official of Hezbollah Brigades, Abu Ali al-Askari, said in a tweet today, "Iraq will not return to the era of dictatorship. The years of oppression, and arrogant nationalists' insulting sanctities and human dignity are gone.

"Reaching an understanding with the English, the Arabs of the Gulf, and the Zionists who support them to control Iraq, is impossible now", he added.

He continued, "Everyone must understand that the situation has changed, and that era went to a point of no return."
Perhaps all that made sense in the original Arabic.

Nasrallah Says Judicial Developments Confirm 'Selectivity' in Port Case
[An Nahar] Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
chief Sayyed His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...
on Friday decried anew the presence of what he called selectivity and politicization in the Beirut port blast probe as well as in the judiciary’s response to legal motions filed by the accused ex-PM and former ministers."The judicial decisions of the past two days confirm what we have been saying about selectivity and the current course won't lead to truth and justice," Nasrallah said in a televised address.

"Is there a judge today in the Lebanese judiciary who dares to take a decision to dismiss the investigative judge (Tarek Bitar)? There is a judge (Habib Mezher) who moved in that direction, but they threatened him and fought him," Nasrallah added.

"What's happening today is that the Lebanese judiciary is protecting each other," Nasrallah noted, referring to judges who had received documents and complaints related to the ammonium nitrate ship and cargo in the years that preceded the catastrophic blast.

"All information indicates that the judges concerned with the Beirut port file (following the arrival of the ammonium nitrate ship) are in the circle of suspicion," Hizbullah’s leader went on to say.

He noted that the accused former officials have "resorted to the judicial authorities to rescue them from selectivity," lamenting that "these judicial authorities are also subject to selectivity and politicization."

The Court of Cassation on Thursday threw out two lawsuits submitted by ex-premier Hassan Diab and ex-interior minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq accusing Bitar of summoning them illegally. It ruled there was no evidence suggesting Bitar had committed any errors.

The same court also overturned two similar lawsuits filed by politicians Ali Hassan Khalil and Ghazi Zoaiter. Also on Thursday, the Criminal Court of Cassation rejected a lawsuit filed by ex-public works minister Youssef Fenianos that had demanded Bitar's removal from the blast probe.

Turning to the issue of the file of the Tayyouneh-Ain al-Remmaneh deadly incidents, Nasrallah decried that the Military Court "has come under very huge pressure from political and religious sides."

"Even those lecturing us to resort to the judiciary refused to go to the judiciary and some of the runaways are present in Maarab and are being protected there so that they don't get arrested," Nasrallah charged.

Warning that "this is a dangerous behavior," Hizbullah’s secretary-general warned, criticized certain religious and political sides who are "pressing for the release of the rest of the detainees."

"This is disregard for the deaders, their families and all the parties they belong to, and that this is insistence on the scheme of strife," he cautioned.

He added that those sides must stop the alleged pressure and that "the judiciary must take its normal course."

"Those who took part in the killings must be put on trial and continuing the current course is dangerous," Nasrallah went on to say.
