Los Angeles teachers union votes to indefinitely postpone motion endorsing BDS
[IsraelTimes] Motion to put off vote says Israel boycott an ’extremely divisive

"I have never seen a more divisive motion," said union member John Perez. "This motion would be used by our enemies and they will hit us over our heads until doomsday."
Los Angeles’ main teachers union voted Thursday to indefinitely postpone a motion in favor of boycotting Israel.

#1  For the LA N.E.A. vote on it and approve it, would have made them officially open to Anti-Semitic and Racist review for State Contracting, Grants and etc.... Which might have precluded them from being recognized as a group to engage in State Contracting. Also see CA. Hate Speech laws.

For the LA N.E.A. NOT to vote on it. Allows them to continue whining and still be recognized as a collection of Socialist acting as a Workers Union. This now allows them to still be good radical Socialists, support Anti-Semitic endeavors and be Political closet Racists.

Also see TRUMP Executive Order 13950: Prohibiting Training (teachings) that Includes ‘Race and Sex Stereotyping or Scapegoating’...

Question: I wonder how many Jewish members are in the LA NEA?

Texas takes steps to divest from Ben and Jerry’s following settlement boycott
[IsraelTimes] Ice cream giant, parent company added to state’s list of companies that boycott Israel, which will likely see Texas divest $100 million in state pension funds within 90 days.

Texas on Thursday officially added Ben & Jerry’s and its parent company Unilever to a list of companies that boycott Israel over the former’s decision to cease the sale of its products in West Bank settlements, a further step on the path to the state divesting some $100 million from the companies.

"Effective today, the Comptroller’s office has added Ben & Jerry’s and its parent company, Unilever, to the Texas list of companies that boycott Israel," Texas’s comptroller Glenn Hegar’s office said in a statement.

#1  Why are American governments kowtowing before Israeli interests at the expense of our own?

Is this usual around the world? Do sub national governments typically represent the interests of foreigners?

#2  How exciting — an ignorant Chinese troll of our very own! Hsieh-hsieh for presenting yourself as a chew toy, Mr. Bucket7723. I hope you are being well paid for the free teaching you will get.

But first, before you start, it would be wise for you to commence learning Hebrew so you can study the Talmud, as the cleverer of your compatriots have been doing. Otherwise you never will be able to understand how tiny Israel is so successful in both war and business that your best want to partner with them or buy their expertise and inventions. Go on — we’ll still be here a decade from now when you return with the foundation of wisdom.

Afghanistan
Taliban to Seek Funds for Families Harmed by Intl Forces
[ToloNews] Noor Mohammad Motavakil, a member of the Cultural Commission of the Information and Culture Ministry of the caretaker cabinet, on Friday told TOLOnews the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
will ask all countries involved in the Afghan war to pay compensation to victims’ families.
"we will distribute according to Islamic Law....after subtracting shipping and handling fees...and a little somethin' somethin' for the El Supremo and entourage"
Motavakil’s remarks followed a United Kingdom defense ministry announcement on Thursday saying the UK will pay war compensation to the families of victims harmed during UK forces Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s.

According to Motavakil, the Taliban has a list of all those who suffered from airstrikes in the last 20 years, and if the compensation is paid they are ready to distribute it to the victims’ families.

"Britannia has said it is ready to pay the compensation and we welcome this. Other countries involved in the war also should be ready and pay the compensation before the Islamic Emirate demands them to do so," he said.

According to the UK defense ministry, the UK has paid out £688,000 for 289 civilian deaths between 2006-2014, an average of £2,380 per person.

The UK defense ministry said compensation was set by legal principles, including past and future losses and local customs.

"I expect other countries to also pay war compensation to the harmed Afghans, as did Britannia," said Omid Qasimi, a Kabul resident.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pound, the little lost dog had finished eating the rat terrier...
members of a family that was targeted by a US airstrike on August 29 in Kabul, in which 10 members of the family were killed, called on the international community to offer compensation for the financial and human losses they suffered.

During this attack a house in Kabul was targeted and the US first said it had eliminated ISIS members who were trying to attack Kabul airport. However,
the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits...
weeks later the Pentagon said all the victims were civilians and apologized to the family.

government struggles to contain a deepening economic crisis.

The well-organized demonstration, featuring banners with messages printed in English, came as Taliban officials stepped up demands for more than $9 billion in foreign reserves held abroad to be handed over.

"We want them to unfreeze this money as it’s only Afghanistan’s money," said Nooruddin Jalali, a member of the Afghan Moslem youth association NAJM, who attended the protest.
Khaama Press points out:
The all-male protest was well protected by the Taliban fighters and was staged in the middle of Kabul city.

The Afghan Society of Muslim Youth in a gathering on Friday asked the international community and world charity institutions to keep assisting Afghanistan.

Abdul Wahed Hemat, head of the society of Muslim youth, said: “If you are a supporter of human rights, you should keep helping Afghanistan.”

Sudanese authorities have taken control of lucrative assets that for years provided backing for Hamas
More on this story from yesterday.
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Sudanese authorities have taken control of lucrative assets that for years provided backing for Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw,, shedding light on how the country served as a haven for the Paleostinian holy warrior group under former leader Omar al-Bashir
...Former President-for-Life of Sudan He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself head cheese. He fell out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Hee was overthrown by popular consent in 2019. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it...
The takeover of at least a dozen companies that officials say were linked to Hamas has helped accelerate Sudan's realignment with the West since Bashir's overthrow in 2019. Over the past year, Khartoum has won removal from the U.S. state sponsors of terrorism (SST) list and is on course for relief of more than $50 billion in debt.

Hamas has lost a foreign base where members and supporters could live, raise money, and channel Iranian weapons and funds to the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip, Sudanese and Paleostinian analysts said.

Seized assets detailed by Sudanese official sources and a Western intelligence source show the reach of those networks.

According to officials from a task force set up to dismantle the Bashir regime, they include real estate, company shares, a hotel in a prime Khartoum location, an exchange bureau, a TV station, and more than a million acres of farmland.

Sudan became a centre for money laundering and terrorism financing, said Wagdi Salih, a leading member of the task force - the Committee to Dismantle the June 30, 1989 Regime and Retrieve Public Funds.

The system was "a big cover, a big umbrella, internally and externally", he said.

A Western intelligence source said techniques were used in Sudan that are common to organised crime: Companies were headed by trustee shareholders, rents collected in cash, and transfers made through exchange bureaux.

Hamas investments in Sudan began with small-scale ventures such as fast food restaurants before venturing into real estate and construction, according to an official on the task force.

An example was Hassan and Alabed, which started as a cement company and expanded into large real estate developments.

The task force says it was in a network with about 10 other large companies with interlinking share ownership connected to Bashir ally Abdelbasit Hamza that moved large sums through foreign bank accounts.

The biggest was Alrowad Real Estate Development, established in 2007 and listed on Khartoum's stock exchange, with subsidiaries that the Western intelligence source said laundered money and traded in currency to finance Hamas.

Hamza was placed in durance vile
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
in April for 10 years on corruption charges and sent to the Khartoum prison where Bashir is being held. The task force said he had assets worth up to $1.2 billion in his name. Hamza's lawyer, who also represents Bashir, could not be reached for comment.

A second network, worth up to $20 million, revolved around the broadcaster Tayba and an associated charity named Almishkat. It was run by two Hamas members who got citizenship and amassed businesses and real estate, according to Maher Abouljokh, the caretaker brought in to manage Tayba. The TV channel was funnelling money from the Gulf, laundered millions of dollars, and had clear links to Hamas, said Abouljokh.

Contacted by Rooters, Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri
...a senior spokesman for Hamas. Zuhri gained notoriety in 2006 when he dropped his money belt containing somewhere between 640,000 and 900,000 euros, which was confiscated by Paleostinian security and customs officials at a routine border crossing from Egypt to Gaza. The news brought competing Hamas and Fatah forces to the crossing checkpoint for an epic face-making and hollering contest...
denied the group had investments in Sudan, but acknowledged an impact from Sudan's political shift: "Unfortunately, there were several measures that weakened the presence of the movement (Hamas) in the country (Sudan) and limited political ties with it," he said.

A former U.S. diplomat who worked on Sudan under the Trump administration said shutting down the Hamas network was a focus in negotiations with Khartoum. "We were pushing on an open door," he said.

The United States gave Sudan a list of companies to shut down, according to one Sudanese source and the Western intelligence source. The State Department declined to comment.

Many Hamas-affiliated figures went to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
with some liquid assets but left behind about 80% of their investments, the task force official said.

Sudan's transitional leaders "consider themselves the exact antithesis of Bashir in regional terms," said Sudanese analyst Magdi El Gazouli. "They want to sell themselves as a component of the new security order in the region."

"The coup against al-Bashir caused real problems for Hamas and Iran," said Paleostinian analyst Adnan Abu Amer. "Hamas and Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
had to look for alternatives - alternatives that had not been in place because the coup against al-Bashir was a sudden one."

Tunisia's Saied Strengthens Presidential Powers in Decrees
[AnNahar] Tunisian President Kaïs Saied issued presidential decrees bolstering the already near-total power he granted himself two months ago.

Wednesday's decrees include the continuing suspension of the Parliament's powers and the suspension of all politicians' immunity from prosecution. But the text published in the official gazette went even further — now freezing politicians' salaries.

They also state Saied's intention from now on to rule by presidential decree alone and ignore parts of the constitution. Laws will not go through the parliament, whose powers are frozen, granting him near-unlimited power.

On July 25, Saied sacked Tunisia's prime minister, suspended parliament and assumed executive authority, saying it was because of a national emergency. His critics called it a coup.

For law professor Mouna Kraiem, the new emergency measures amount to "the establishment of a dictatorship in the full sense of the word."

Saied has denied wanting to be a dictator, saying that he eventually aims to put his political reforms to the public in the form of a nationwide referendum. But his political critics remain skeptical of this intention.

The July event came after years of economic sluggishness, but were triggered by a day of violent mostly peaceful protest and a rise in coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...

Chad plans to double army size to deal with security challenges
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Chad's transitional government said on Friday that it plans to drastically increase the size of its army to deal with security challenges, including threats from turbans and armed rebels.

Defence Minister General Daoud Yaya Brahim told parliament that the army has begun the process of increasing the total number of troops to 60,000 by the end of 2022, from 35,000 currently.

"We have already started the process with the recruitment and training of soldiers and non-commissioned officers. The objective is to build elite unites capable of adapting to the asymmetric warfare our Sahel countries are facing," Brahim said.

Chad, alongside neighbours Nigeria, Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
and Niger, as well as Sahel nations Mali and Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
, are battling turbans linked to al-Qaeda and ISIS.

The Chadian army is also fighting rebels in the north of the country. Former President Idriss Deby was killed in April while visiting troops on the frontline fighting the Libya-based rebels.

Brahim told parliament that the army would be seeking more funding in the next budget for defence spending.

India-Pakistan
With winter months approaching, Pakistan changing behaviour rapidly on infiltrations
[OneIndia] A second attempt to infiltrate bully boyz into Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
signals that Pakistain has changed its position despite saying that it was following the ceasefire truce with India.
They feel like they won in Afghanistan, so now's the time to employ similar tactics in Kashmir.
It has become clear now that this increase in the number of activities cannot take place without the blessing of the local army commanders of Pakistain. Lt. General Pandey said that it is just not possible that such number of activities can take place without the complicity and connivance of local Mighty Pak Army commanders.

An operation was launched on Sunday after a group of 6 bully boyz sneaked in. However the operation was called off three days later as the bully boyz could not be traced. Lt. Gen Pandey said that three bully boyz had however been killed in a shootout on the Line of Control when they were trying to infiltrate into north Kashmir's Uri Sector on Thursday morning.

The Army has now said that there has been a definite change of behaviour by Pakistain in the past one month. Officials OneIndia spoke with said, while this could not be directly connected with the developments in Afghanistan, there is a definite attempt by Pakistain to enhance activity in the Valley.

The Army says that they anticipated that before the winter months, there would be a concerted effort to push in the terrorists. In the past few weeks, we have been getting credible inputs of lot of activities in the launch pad areas and plans to carry out infiltration, the manifestation of which we saw in Uri and the second on Thursday, Lt. Gen Pandey said.

He also said that the current level of peace and stability, the tourist footfall, in fact the visit of large number of ministers to the Valley is ranking across. The intent of sending the small weapons in terms of pistols and grenades is to ensure that you are arming the so-called hybrid terrorist, the youth who are studying in the day in the evening they are given a task to hit, he also added.

Lt Gen Pandey however did not link the developments in Afghanistan to the infiltration attempts. We had anticipated this change in behaviour starting September and October and this has started to manifest on the ground he also said.

There is change in strategy from across the border: IGP
[GREATERKASHMIR] Inspector General of Police Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain.
Zone Vijay Kumar on Thursday said that feeling frustrated over the prevailing peaceful atmosphere in J&K, "there is change in strategy from across the border".

"The prevailing peaceful atmosphere, rising number of tourist arrivals, visit of union minister and peaceful situation after death of Syed Ali Shah Geelani have brought frustration among the handlers across the border," Kumar told newsmen during a joint presser with GOC 15 corps, Lt Gen D P Pandey.

"There is change in strategy from across the border," he said.

Hailing the people for "their maturity after the death of Geelani", IGP Kashmir said new the strategy from across the border is to carry out attacks here by "hybrid bully boys". "85 percent attacks on police and other people were carried out with pistols," he said, adding that till today 97 pistols have been seized.

The Kashmir Police chief said: "Pakistain is pushing small weapons (Pistols) so that killings with labels like informers are carried out."

He said that more measures have been taken to prevent killings.

Kumar said that they have asked their personnel to adhere to the advisory. "Most of the coppers killed this year were unarmed and it seems a pattern," he said adding that in Kulgam SOG cop went out of camp and was shot. "Our PSI sahib was shot from behind and his party was only some meters away."

The senior police officer said that they were behind "hybrid bully boys".

"When we arrest one OGW and we get to know about five others," he added.

Iraq
Over 300 prominent Iraqis publicly call for full peace with Israel
[IsraelTimes] Unprecedented event in Erbil features Sunni and Shiite leaders and activists demanding that Baghdad join Abraham Accords; Lapid: Event in Iraq is a ’source of hope and optimism’.

Hundreds of Iraqi leaders and activists gathered in the country’s Kurdistan region on Friday to publicly call for full normalization with Israel.

The group, which includes Sunni and Shiites, youth activists and tribal leaders, said the next step after the dramatic announcement would be to seek "face-to-face talks" with Israelis.

The 312 Iraqi men and women issued their statements from a hotel in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region. The conference was organized by the New York-based Center for Peace Communications, which works to advance engagement between Arabs and Israelis, and to protect activists supporting normalization.

The Times of Israel is covering developments from the conference as they happen.

One of the speakers explained that the group believes in peace with Israel "so that we might live in a stable region that brings conflicts to an end. We believe in it because we want our region to be a peaceful one, in which Israel is an inseparable part of the panoramic whole, and in which all peoples have the right to live in security."

"We demand that Iraq join the Abraham Accords internationally," wrote Wisam al-Hardan, leader of the Sons of Iraq Awakening movement, in The Wall Street Journal on Friday. "We call for full diplomatic relations with Israel and a new policy of mutual development and prosperity."

The Sons of Iraq formed organically in 2005 as tribal leaders in Anbar province and ex-Iraqi Army officers allied with US forces to fight al-Qaeda.

"Some of us have faced down ISIS and al-Qaeda on the battlefield," wrote Hardan. "Through blood and tears we have long demonstrated that we oppose all hard boys, whether Sunni jihadists or Iran-backed Shi’ite militias. We have also demonstrated our patriotism: We sacrificed lives for the sake of a unified Iraq, aspiring to realize a federal system of government as stipulated in our nation’s constitution."

Calling the expulsion of Iraq’s Jews “the most infamous act” in the country’s decline, Hardan said Iraq “must reconnect with the whole of our diaspora, including these Jews.”

“We reject the hypocrisy in some quarters of Iraq that speaks kindly of Iraqi Jews while denigrating their Israeli citizenship, and the Jewish state, which granted them asylum.”

Hardan also said that Iraq’s laws criminalizing contacts with Israelis are “morally repugnant.”

He wrote that while countries like Syria, Libya, Lebanon and Yemen are mired in war, the Abraham Accords represent a hopeful trend of “peace, economic development, and brotherhood.”

Seven working groups will be formed in the wake of the conference to address ties between Iraq and its Jewish diaspora, trade and investment, educational reform, repealing anti-normalization laws, peace communications in Iraqi media, artistic collaborations, and supporting peace activists in other Arab countries that don’t recognize Israel.

UN updates named death toll for Syria war
[AlAhram] The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) included only fatalities identifiable by a full name, with a place of death and an established date, from March 2011 to March 2021

The war in Syria has killed 350,209 fully identified individuals, according to a new count published Friday by the United Nations
...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly...
, which warned the real total of deaths would be far higher.
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) included only fatalities identifiable by a full name, with a place of death and an established date, from March 2011 to March 2021.
"The others are ...less dead"
"We assess this figure of 350,209 as statistically sound, based as it is on rigorous work," High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet told the UN Human Rights Council.

"It is not -- and should not be seen as -- a complete number of conflict-related killings in Syria during this period.

"It indicates a minimum verifiable number, and is certainly an under-count of the actual number of killings."

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the benchmark for counting victims of the conflict, published a report on June 1 raising the corpse count to 494,438 since the start of the violent mostly peaceful crackdown on anti-regime protests in 2011.

The Observatory revised up by 105,000 its previous corpse count from March 2021, following months of investigation based on documents and sources on the ground.

UN rights chief Bachelet said more than one in 13 victims on the OHCHR count was a woman -- 27,727 -- while almost one in every 13 was a child -- 27,126.

She said the greatest number of documented fatalities was in the Aleppo governorate, with 51,731 named individuals killed.

Other locations with heavy corpse counts were Rural Damascus (47,483), Homs (40,986), Idlib (33,271), Hama (31,993) and Tartus (31,369).

'UNIMAGINABLE SUFFERING'
Bachelet said OHCHR had received records with partial information which could not go into the analysis but nonetheless indicated a wider number of killings that were not yet fully documented.

"Tragically, there are also many other victims who left behind no witnesses or documentation," she said.

OHCHR has begun processing information on those alleged to have caused a number of deaths, together with the civilian and non-civilian status of victims, and the cause of death by types of weaponry.

"Documenting the identity of and circumstances in which people have died is key to the effective realisation of a range of fundamental human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
-- to know the truth, to seek accountability, and to pursue effective remedies," said Bachelet.

The former Chilean president said the Syrian people's daily lives "remain scarred by unimaginable suffering... and there is still no end to the violence they endure".

Bachelet said the count would ensure those killed were not forgotten.

"Behind each recorded death was a human being, born free and equal, in dignity and rights," she said.

US House of Representatives rejects proposal to end US presence in Syria
[NPASYRIA] On Friday, the US House of Representatives rejected an amendment proposed by the Democratic Congressman Jamaal Bowman aiming at ending the presence of US forces in Syria, a year after the legislation was activated.
Jamaal is the newest member of the AOC Squad.
The activation of the amendment required the approval of the majority of the Congress members, but 286 members of the House of Representatives voted to reject it and 141 supported it.

Meanwhile,
...back at the game, the Babe headed for second base. He almost made it. Then Sheila slapped him....
187 Republicans and 99 Democrats voted to reject the Bowman’s amendment to remove US forces from Syria.

The amendment also included a proposal to prevent the allocation of a special budget for the US forces’ presence in Syria in preparation for their final withdrawal after a period of six months to a year.

On September 23, the US Department of Defense allocated a budget of $177 million approved by Congress for training and arming efforts against the Islamic State

Yesterday, on Thursday, the US House of Representatives adopted a bill presented by the Representative Ro Khanna, to end US logistical support provided to Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...

...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
s in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
, in addition to preventing US intelligence services from providing any information related to Yemen, to Saudi forces.

The vote on the bill to stop logistical support comes one day after the Joe Biden administration (aka the Wilmington comorra)
